Emma

Rate this book
When worlds collide, myths become reality.

Dragons, vampires and other mythical creatures suddenly find themselves on Earth. Thousands are dead and war looms on the horizon.

For Emma, life is no longer perfect, not with monsters out of legend appearing in the forest behind her house.

When Tyler sets his eyes in her direction, she knows the bloodthirsty creatures (trying to kill her) are the least of her worries, especially when her blood heats to the boiling point every time the gorgeous shape shifter looks her way.

Too late, she realizes having a dragon’s unwavering attention is a dangerous place to be, because there is a fine line between attraction and prey.

Death is no longer in her distant future, it haunts her every move.

This e-book contains minor curse words and sexual innuendo. 16+ is the recommended reading age.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I will admit that this book has been sitting on my kindle for a little while, forgotten among the other books that i have on their. It might have something to do with the terrible cover, seriously it does the book no favours.

That said i really shouldn't have judged the book by its cover. The world created was brilliant, the two 'collided' worlds can together well and we got a world that was formed so well that you could almost see it.

The characters Emma, the human and Tyler the black Dragon were strong and Tyler had some really great loyal friends and Tyler and Emma were good at explaining the differences in their worlds when the others seemed perplexed.

I would certainly read other books by this author, however i hope that her book covers improve.

When I first started reading this book, I'm not going to lie, I was excited! I have never read a book that had a main character that that was part dragon. I now love dragons! The story was told from two different POV's which I found very nice. I got to see how both characters felt and what they were going through.

In the beginning of the book we meet Tyler, a Wer-dragon who was preparing for a test at his school when all of a sudden a storm comes and he somehow finds himself on Earth. Tyler is from a world called, Tuatha Dé Danann, where wer-wolves, pixies, and even vampires all co-exist. After walking around in a forest Tyler runs into something that catches his attention, a human girl. For reasons he is unsure of he craves the girl. He feels drawn to her and him and his dragon both agree, they must protest her.
Emma was just looking to see if blueberries were in season when she runs into a vampire. Scared out of her mind she fights to survive when she encounters a boy. But there is something different about this boy. Like the way her blood boils when he is near her, or that she can't seem to keep her eyes off him. Soon Emma and Tyler's lives mix, as do their world's Tuatha Dé Danann and Earth do. Romance starts to occur and Emma isn't sure a relationship with a dragon will leave her with a broken heart or not. Will Tyler and Emma last? Or will their new world crash and burn around them?

An action packed story that will keep you entertained for hours. It's a page turner with lots of twists and turns that will leave you shocked. I really enjoyed this story, it was very entertaining and I loved all the creatures that were in this book, especially the dragons! I recommend this book to everyone!

Some of my favorite parts:

"Your "miserable cousin was streaking through the air roaring as loud as he could and belching short bursts of fire. Shifting from dragon to wér, he'd drop onto roofs, and scream, `run for your lives! It's the end of the world!' When I get my hands on that heathen, I'm going to wring his neck.

"Fury roared through him. He would allow no one to harm the girl. She was his."

"I can't believe either of you pretty boys think you can compare to Tyler, even if he is in a rotten mood. The idea that I'd pick either of you over him is beyond me," she said with a slight sniff. "It's like comparing a mighty war stallion with a couple of ribbon-bedecked prancing ponies. Surely, your medieval brains can figure out that comparison."

"I'm glad we can still argue."
"Of course, we'll still argue. Mates don't always agree, especially when one of them is wrong like you are," he said emphatically, refusing to switch topics.

MY REVIEW
As I had read quite a lot of the Sidhí Books by Jodie B Cooper, she asked me if I'd like to read this new book by her. The cover is okay, it has things relevant to the book on it, for example Emma with the soul mate tattoo on her arm. I think the cover is okay and because I have read other books by this Author I would surely pick it up on a book store shelf. I just think the cover could be so much better, but not sure how, as the book is a great read. I love the byline of "When worlds collide, myths become reality".
So something strange is happening and the world as we know it, is no more as our world and the mystical land of dragons, vampires, witches etc has morphed together, ad this is the basis of the story of what happens. This book also has the theme of the soul mate bond.
An "earth girl" named Emma meets Tyler a Wer Dragon (a very strong important Royal Dragon). I don't want to go into specifics of the book as you really should read it for yourself but there's the whole political issue of the "world government" and the "mystical world" leaders. There's betrayal within the "mystical world", as well as the two worlds meeting and the species mixing. For the first time in many years humans and becoming mates to the wer. Which is what happens with Tyler ad Emma. They do both try to fight the feelings, and reason and think their way out of it but does true love win? There are many new species for us to learn about and there turns out to be a lot for the mystical world to know about us humans.
This book has action, drama, intrigue, mystery, with love and friendship, with some loyalty ad betrayal thrown in too.
So did I enjoy the book? Yes, I read it all in one go! Would I recommend the book? Especially if you loved the other Sidhí books by Jodie B Cooper. Would I read more in the Dark Fire Series? Yes I'd like more of Tyler & Emma, Lydia & Keith, and Kayla. Perhaps Kayla could find her soul mate? Would I read other books by this Author? Yes, I like the style of Jodie's writing along with it's pace and content.
