About the author

Maurice Leblanc (1864 - 1941) was a French novelist, best known as the creator of gentleman thief (later detective) Arsène Lupin.

Leblanc began as a journalist, until he was asked to write a short story filler, and created, more gallant and dashing than English counterpart Sherlock Holmes.

Le Gentleman Arsène Lupin le célèbre cambrioleur est de retour avec une nouvelle aventure !

Cette Fois ci était un protecteur de la jeune mademoiselle aux yeux verts ... et aussi son amoureux .... mais enfin de compte il aura une surprise aussi dangereuse que incompréhensible!

Belle histoire du suspens d'amour et de mystère❤️
Un très grand amour des romans classiques et j’ai un grand faible envers la littérature française en général et cette série m’a fait beaucoup plaisir de la découvrir, il me reste beaucoup d’autres de ses romans à lire et à savourer le ses policiers à la classique mais je vais planifier de lire encore plus des aventures d’Arsène Lupin et cette dernière spécialement Fait partie de mes meilleurs romans policiers classiques que j’ai jamais lu ♥️

Ein rasantes Abenteuer mit Arsène Lupin, der diesmal als Baron Raoul de Limézy auftritt und sich mal wieder Knall auf Fall in eine schöne Unbekannte verliebt. Bereits in den ersten zwei Kapiteln gibt es reichlich Action und Tote, viele zwielichtige Gestalten und die geheimnisvolle Dame mit den grünen Augen. Wenn man mal von dem Umstand absieht, wie unlogisch es ist, was Raoul tut, nur weil er sich spontan in die schöne Dame verguckt hat und was er dabei für eine Unbekannte alles riskiert, ist es ein kurzweiliges und durchaus spannendes Buch.

A good story but I cannot give 5 stars to it because I did not really like the green-eyed girl (too perfect and naive) whereas the english blue-eyed lady was far more interesting and would have been a great challenge to Lupin.
What I found old-fashioned was that Arsene Lupin can be a thief but is offended when a lady is...
Fortunately the cunning side of Lupin having fun of his ennemies and the poetry of the love story saves the book!

Damn, this year really started with me picking up disappointing books. I really liked the previous volumes of Arsene Lupin which is why this one was a HUGE disappointment. The story had potential and there were some funny moments but everything else was done pretty poorly. The story didn't seem that interesting, the characters felt flat and not engaging at all... and worst of all, the protagonist, the marvellous Arsene Lupin acted completely out of character. It wasn't the charismatic, suave gentleman thief but a lovesick puppy, falling in love at first sight, making mistake after mistake, getting outsmarted again and again and vowing (many times) to devote his life to protect a woman whom he only saw once. Because she had pretty green eyes. Yes, that was his entire motivation. The ending isn't thaaaat bad but it wasn't thrilling either. I hope other stories are better.

E' uno strano leggere, quello che regala Leblanc, a un secolo dalla pubblicazione. Inconsueto, per me. All'inizio di una leggerezza quasi deludente. Poi la vicenda prende forma. E la lettura corre. La fantasia scoppiettante dell'intreccio colpisce. Diverte. Alla fine anche io, piuttosto che un tascabile Einaudi, ho tra le mani "Le Journal", dove la storia è pubblicata a puntate. Mi ritrovo seduto su una panchina del Bois De Boulogne; mi godo il sole di una giornata di riposo, e il sorriso dell'intrattenimento garbato, con una delle incredibili vicende di Arsène Lupin.

Un épisode mineur des aventures d'Arsène Lupin, qu'accablent plusieurs fautes et égarements.

Dès le début, Leblanc se méprend sur ce qui passionne le lecteur: il introduit une sublime cambrioleuse aux yeux bleus qui démasque Lupin, puis la remplace finalement par la demoiselle aux yeux verts éponyme (de l'aveu distrait de l'auteur, banale sinon qu'elle a les yeux verts). Lupin, convenablement épris d'elle, se démène pour la protéger d'un imbroglio inintérressant. Leblanc peine à clarifier cette quadruple affaire, menée par quatre vilains dont on ne retiendra aucun nom — contrairement à celui de Constance Bakefield.

Ce roman fait partie de ceux que Leblanc a écrit à l'époque où il croyait que la radioactivité soignait les hommes! Le trésor de l'histoire, comme celui des Trente Cercueils, fera sourire le lecteur du siècle de Fukushima...

I must say I'm a bit disappointed with Lupin in this book. He was sloppy and emotional, quite opposite to the previous book I read. Later he tries to turn these events for his advantage, which seems a bit desperate from the author's point of view. There are also many different masks that Lupin takes in order to follow the inspector, what is ridiculous. At the end, Lupin didn't gain much, neither the treasure, nor the girl.

Ooh. It was bad.
All the things I respected in Lupin were gone here. I always liked how respectful he was towards the women he adored but in this book he literally sexually assaulted (it was a kiss but still) and stalked a girl :|
It was really weird, I don't know what happened with the author but this book left a sour taste. The mystery was so convoluted that I hardly could follow it. Lupin really known for his cunning tricks in this book was now winning due to blackmail and that wasn't it for me. I'm really disappointed

Lupin... Dziwna sprawa z tymi książkami z jego udziałem. Lekkie, przyjemne bez jakiejkowiek pretensji głębi psychologicznej. Po prostu śledzimy przygody i zagadki rozwiązane przez wielkiego złodzieja, Gary Stu niezrównanego. Czasami sympatyczne, czasami irytujące, ale na poprawę humoru czy kryzys czytelniczy nadają się idealnie.

A crime, a secret, a hidden treasure, a young lady with green eyes... a very typical Arsène Lupin novel, with every ingredient for me to like it. This time solving a mystery, but he still manages to baffle a police inspector. "T'as du feu, Rodolphe?" xD Loved it.

Confieso que el titulo no me llamó la atención, ni el espeluznante arácnido que aparece en la contraportada (a lo mejor no es para tanto, pero me da miedo, ¿vale?). Sin embargo, decidí darle una oportunidad ya no solo por su sinopsis, sino por el personaje principal, ese compañero con el que iba a vivir una agitada aventura, Arsenio Lupin, el ladrón de guante blanco más famoso de Francia. Un hombre carismático, inteligente, locuaz y enamoradizo que, como diría mi abuela, nació con estrella, porque ni las balas le rozan los cabellos al jodío.
Hacía tanto tiempo que no me lo pasaba tan bien leyendo… Me he reído, he sufrido, me he enfadado y me he quedado moñeca en algunas escenas al no saber qué demonios estaba pasando. Hay muy pocos momentos de paz y tranquilidad en esta novela, ¡y eso es de agradecer, pues no se hace tan pesada! Estás constantemente en alerta; desconfías de todos los personajes, no sabes quién o quiénes son los asesinos, cuál o cuáles son los motivos y, aunque parezca fácil y sencillo al principio, Lupin (o Raoul, en este caso), te demuestra con sus lógicas explicaciones que la teoría de otro personaje, y la película que te habías montado en la cabeza mientras leías, no son correctas.
Creo que no recibido más ‘‘guantazos’’ en mi vida por creerme una listilla.
La historia tiene un ritmo estupendo, ni muy rápido ni muy lento.
El vocabulario se es bastante rico.
Hay unas cuantas erratas, pero ello no hace que desconectes abruptamente de la trama.
Hay romance (muy similar al de las películas antiguas) y, a pesar de no ser muy fan de este género, me ha gustado. Me dio un poquito de cringe en algunas partes, pero me ha gustado. Lo admito.
Hay traiciones, sangre, conspiraciones, y un hermoso tesoro por descubrir.

-Sin duda alguna, seguiré la pista de Arsenio Lupin, el Sherlock Holmes francés, pero con una personalidad mucho más agradable-.

Nessa aventura, Maurice Leblanc, que já havia demonstrado sua admiração por Sherlock Holmes no livro Herlock Sholmes, transforma Arsène Lupin em um dublê de detetive. A história, que envolve muita ação, um amor verdadeiro e muitas voltas e reviravoltas, é interessante e divertida.

“La señorita de los ojos verdes” es el último libro que me quedaba de la colección de Lupin. El libro es espectacular y captó toda mi atención desde el primer momento. Creo que esta novela es una de las mejores de la saga. La señorita de los ojos verde jade es un personaje intrigante y muy particular. Me da un poco de pena terminar con esta saga y estoy abierta a leer más sobre este gran personaje de la literatura francesa. Las ediciones de @delfondo están sumamente cuidadas y son las únicas disponibles en español neutro. Este libro pertenece a la colección de “Obras Selectas de Arsène Lupin”, también se encuentra disponible en el “Pack Complementario de Arsene Lupin”.

The book is an interesting read and fast-paced. It shows a little of the perceptions people at that time had and at some points it's a little sexist, but if you can deal with it, I can only recommend it for all demographics. One of the problems I had with this book is that the plans and ideas aren't explained a little more in detail and it seems as if Arsene Lupin can do everything without somebody getting ahead of him.
The resolution at the end was a welcome surprise and that alone makes the book worth reading.

A great read, if you like Leblanc's particular blend of mystery and rescue opera. Lupin is a kind of super-hero figure who stretches plausibility with his incredible abilities, but not as far as the character in the TV show.

It's one of the better books that I've read in this series. The plot consists of a series of suspenseful mysteries, skillfully crafted and centered around an underlying secret that is remarkable and creative.


One objection to the ending - they were awfully callous and uncaring about the old man at the end.

Lupin pasa de ser un caballero seductor a un acosador. Y no solo en este libro, sino en todos los misterios relacionados a mujeres. A todas intenta besarlas, perseguirlas... entiendo que son otras épocas, pero es bastante desagradable.

Además, los personajes femeninos suelen ser bastante insulsos. Todas son ingenuas, inocentes, que se hacen las difíciles, pero después terminan todas cayendo por Lupin.

Este libro, particularmente, me resultó bastante aburrido. El misterio estaba tan enredado que no entendí nada. Pero los últimos capítulos estuvieron entretenidos.

Knihu jsem dočetla jen z nostalgické náklonnosti k Arsénu Lupinovi. Nejzajímavější postavu, Miss Bakefieldovou, hned na začátku zavraždí a nebohý čtenář je následně osedlán Aurelií, slečinkou se zelenýma očima, nudnou žábou, která se nechá všemi vláčet sem a tam. V jednu chvíli jsem si dokonce řekla, že jestli ta unylá nudle ještě jednou omdlí, tak knížka letí z okna. Co na ní Lupin viděl, mi až do konce zůstalo záhadou.

J'ai aimé cette passion d'Arsène pour cette mystérieuse demoiselle, la façon dont on nous dépeint ses sentiments pressants est merveilleuse. Lupin est fou d'amour, Lupin se laisse emporter et avec sa verve habituelle, sa joie des grands discours enflammés, c'est tout bonnement magnifique.
Cependant, j'ai eu plus de mal avec la demoiselle que j'ai trouvais trop plate et effacée.

Esta bien pero nada más, hasta ahora es el que menos me gustó de Lupin.
El misterio no llega a ser interesante en ningún momento y su revelación tampoco deslumbra, las idas y vueltas no llegan a ser ni de asomo tan buenas como en otras de sus novelas.
El personaje de Lupin en este libro.... zafa, pero esta lejísimos de ser el Lupin que atrapa y entretiene.

Verschiedene Männer begeben sich auf die Suche nach dem Erbe einer jungen Frau.
Die Frau wird von den Männern bedrängt und sexuell belästigt um sie zusätzlich noch um den Schatz zu bringen.
Selbst für die Zeit in der das Buch geschrieben ist, ist das totale chauvinistische Kacke.
