With Shawn's gritty and provocative outlook on life, SCREAM: An Anthology Of Sacred Thoughts is a collection of poetry, opinions, and anecdotes that help describe the thoughts of many about the things they go through and wish to say but never tell. From the frustration of growing up in poverty and through an uneven childhood, to living with bad decisions and their consequences, to taking view of the lessons that came from the results tailored around life, dreams, relationships, and with self.
In just a few pages, SCREAM will bring out the reader's most inhibitions in agreement. With its succinct pen and writing style, SCREAM will make the reader run the emotional gamut, from humor to tears, to aggravation to pride. In the end making the reader say, "That's how I feel", and, "It's like it's speaking about me". And in the end, it is. For sometimes, we all want to SCREAM!
I enjoyed this book. However, the errors in editing were somewhat of a distraction. This collection of poetry, opinions, and anecdotes hit home to a certain degree and at times I felt as though the author was in my head speaking my thoughts and feelings on certain topics. Of course this read will not appeal to everyone but it is one that I would recommend and look forward to reading again in the future.
