Allison gave him her virginity seven years ago, but she hasn't thought about Michael for years--until they end up stranded together during a tropical storm. She's just as attracted to his sexy intensity and humor as she used to be, but she's not a silly girl anymore. Sure, she might enjoy a one-night-stand, but she's never going to fall for him. Not again.
Always forced into the public eye because of his business dealings and high-profile relationships, Michael doesn't trust journalists, and he doesn't trust women. Allison is both, which means he can never surrender to his tumultuous feelings for her, even though they only rage stronger when the storm finally ends.

This book is a short, sweet, and fun read. There isn't a lot to it, no major drama, just simply 2 people trying to find their way together while fighting it a little bit. I loved it and it was what I needed at the moment. The books I've been reading lately have put me in a bit of book block. I read it in one sitting and didn't want to put it down. The characters are easy to love and you just want them to be happy...together. I felt for the things Michael had to go through to become the cynical man he is. I hated that Allison had to prove herself because of her profession but I understood why. This book will pull you along with it, lightly knocking you down but picking you up again. It left me feeling happy and settled. The writing style is easy to follow, the story is told from both his and her POV. I enjoyed the plot...I love books about 2 people being stranded because of a storm. I mean seriously what is there to do but fall for each other? It's a great little read without any lasting emotions.
Short and sweet with very few ups and downs and a HEA...an easy 4.5 stars for me. I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars because it didn't blow me away but I did enjoy reading it and it wasn't filled with angst issues that made me want to scream and bash my head against a wall. It was just perfect light reading. If you're looking for something fun and easy then give this book a try!
Some of the things I was thought while reading this book...
This was one of my okay "fluff" reads. I'm a sucker for once upon a time lovers meeting again years later and rekindling their feelings. This one starts out during a hurricane when they are stranded. Things go smoothly until they return to their regular lives and he finds out a secret she didn't share with him. . The writing isn't the best but I liked the story.
A quick romance read but I liked it. It’s nice to read a book that doesn’t have 200 pages of fluff just to make it a full length novel. Both characters were strong & independent & likable. Good story.
Storm Front is a light, fluffy read. It was alright, I did enjoy it, but it wasn't as amazing as I had hoped it would be.
Allison and Michael knew each other years ago. Allison had a crush on Michael and gave her virginity to him, but then that was the end of that. I am not really sure why he never said anything to her after that or whatever as I don't remember it really being explained, just vaguely mentioned that it was that one night and then shortly thereafter they were living in different places so...
Anyways, Allison is now a reporter covering the big tropical storm when the area is supposed to be evacuated. She stays later than she should getting some human interest stories so she is trying to get out when the weather is not the best. Everything is fine until she gets into an accident with a car coming the other way.
Now who is in that car? Michael of course! And he does not like journalists since they have been hounding him about his personal life. He had a very public break up of his engagement and has been hiding out ever since. His ex is not the best so he is skeptical of women in general, but when Allison and Michael must ride out the storm together in a borrowed house things quickly heat up. It was fun and an easy read, and when they get back to real life there are some issues but they are easily overcome. It was am alright read. I liked both characters well enough, but nothing really made me love them. I didn't see an amazing connection between them, but was happy enough they got together. Just an alright read with nothing making it stand out in my mind.
Alison Dent is a reporter working for a web magazine and she's currently in Virginia working on human interest stories while Tropical Storm Lydia has caused the whole area to be evacuated. Leaving it later than she should she sets off to escape the danger area, driving in horrendous weather she nearly crashes into a SUV, the driver of this vehicle is Michael Martin her first love, the man who took her virginity and the man who been dogged by the press for years, he's handsome, rich and has recently suffered a very public break-up of his engagement, leaving him with no love for journalists. They're stranded together while taking shelter from the storm but can they fight the intense attraction that exists between them.
This was a nice easy read which goes as you would expect, the characters are good particularly Alison she's a very good female lead and one of the things I particularly liked was the fact that even though Michael had taken her virginity when she was just seventeen and she thought herself in love with him she has no hang-ups or remaining trauma over the event, she took it all in her stride and is a well balanced level headed woman. Must mention that I loved ingrate, but then who wouldn't.
This book is a good easy read, the characters are well rounded and have a great chemistry together.
Allison is a strong independent woman who gave her virginity to Michael when she was seventeen. I liked how this was a good experience for her, Allison had a great first time with a guy she thought she loved there are no bitter feelings towards Michael over this experience, like in so many other books.
Michael has been burned by a woman who only wanted him for the status and money, so this makes him very distrustful of women, and journalist in general who intrude into his privacy and the break up of his engagement. Guess what? Allison is both a woman and a journalist! oooo let the sparks fly!.
The dynamic between Michael and Allison is wonderful and make for great story telling, they have some very hot sex scenes and make out sessions.
Storm front is a enjoyable read that will take you away for the afternoon.
This was a very light read and enjoyable. I still felt that something was lacking from the story. Usually we complain that a lot of time is spent giving a description of scenarios and characters surroundings and that it feels like fillers to make the story longer; well not in this case. Maybe that is the reason why even though the story was not rushed you are left wanting or trying to find what was missing from the story. The characters are great and you feel the story is good but a bit of spark and intrigue would have made the book better!
Pretty good story about a broody rich guy and a reporter that grew up in the same town. When she was 18 and interning for his dad, she gave him her V card in a ONS before heading to college. Years later, they collide and are stranded together in a storm and act on their mutual lust. He hates reporters & so her little lie about being one ticks him off bad. He is a total jerk to her but as they run into each other they keep hitting the sheets. As she realizes why he has walls & he realizes she truly cares for him they find their way to something real.
This was a very enjoyable light read. I liked the characters a lot and there were some great sizzling scenes between them. A little predictable at times but i was still hooked. I wish the relationship between Michael and Allison would've been fleshed out more. I think having more explanation or scenes from their past relationship would've strengthened the book. I would recommend this to someone looking for a light sweet romance.
A sweet story of a girl who loves a boy when they are teenagers. She looses her virginity to him and he just goes away while she feels hurt because she fell for him. Now 7 years later they meet up and the feelings start to develop again, but what Allison doesn't know is that Michael starts having feelings for her as well. Cute love story.
A classic example of a good story in need of a good over all editing. The plot was intriguing, but the story was written in a way that connecting with the characters was practically impossible. Someone should have given the author this mantra: Show don't tell. Show don't tell. Show don't tell. Show don't tell. Show don't tell. Show don't tell. Show don't tell. Show don't tell...
The storyline is ok. There are a few sex scenes to skip over. It needs a bit of editing too. There are several sentences that have words left out, and several more that have words in them that shouldn't be there, along with quite a few spelling errors. I guess the story wasn't enough to help me over look them.
I love it when there is conflict between the main characters. Michael and Allison meet again by accident 7 years later during a tropical storm where they are stranded in a house together trying to survive. She tells a little white lie and now there are trust issues that may or may not be able to weather the storm.
nice and STEAMY hot read. But , also with an everyday life feelings. To actually read what each heroine felt about themselves, each other to what they thought what each other were thinking was refreshing.
I read "Eight Christmas Eves" and liked it so much I picked this one up, too. I liked this one a lot as well. I'll be looking for other books from this author.
