Who Wants to Marry a Billionaire?

Rate this book
Who Wants to Marry a Billionaire? Not Nina Alves. With her full-time job at the DeVere Foundation and a comically dysfunctional family that keeps her busy and broke, she can't even find time for a coffee date.

Enter Daniel DeVere. Desperate to impress his philanthropist father with the purchase of an eco-hotel, there is only one problem - his playboy lifestyle has turned the owner off and he needs to present a more mature image if he is to have any chance of salvaging the deal.

With sensible Nina as his fake fiance surely the deal will be secured. Putting on a convincing show in public is one thing, but the passion they are pretending to have for one another begins to spill over into their private moments and they are each forced to admit that they are wishing for something more.

Excerpt:

When they got back to the resort, Daniel winked at Nina, “Tonight, you are going to learn El Tamborito.”
“Is that contagious?”
“I hope so.” He led her into the bedroom. There was a gorgeous traditional Panamanian dress laid out on the bed: it had a full, heavily pleated skirt, a ruffled top, and amazing embroidery threaded through it. It was white with red designs. “There’s a festival in town, and we’re going.”
“If I wear that, people will think that I can really dance.”
“And you will,” there was a knock on the door, “that’s Luisa, and she’s going to teach you.”
“What about you?”
Daniel looked at her slyly, “Oh, I can dance.” He gave her a peck on the cheek. “Have fun, I’ll be back in two hours to get you.”
Luisa, the dance instructor, joined Nina. “Hola! I’m Luisa, Nina. I’m going to put on a CD.” She popped a CD into the cabaña’s little stereo. “First, listen for a couple of minutes.” The rhythms were wonderful, Nina thought, there were drums, and clapping, and a female singer. “What’s she singing about?”
“Ah,” Luisa said knowingly, “She sings about the attraction between men and women, about…the tension between men and women when they want to do more than dance!”
Maybe, Nina thought, El Tamborito wasn’t such a good idea...

A very light and refreshing read. I loved the character of Nina and her mother and absolutely hated Elsa.
It has some twists and turns in the end and asks the reader to read the next book in the series. However, I don't feel this story incomplete and I need to read the next book to know more, it is a complete story book.
A liked this quick read, it is a story of a middle class girl Nina, who has to play a role of his boss's bride to be and eventually the fake romance turns true. Quite happening and eventful book will keep you turning the pages.
Recommended for all who want to read a light romance with humor.

Light hearted fake-relationship romance that sees Billionarie playboy Daniel DeVere giving his middle-class employee Nina Aves an offer she cannot refuse.

Definitely could have done with out the 'Pretty Woman' commission reference, but despite the cliches I liked Nina and her new stylist friend Kennedy.

Daniel's business was also interesting, but Elsa is a real bitch and I was disappointed she basically got away with it all.

There's mention of book two, but I have no desire to read more of these two. This one ended nicely.

It started out but I feel there relationship was rushed and I hate that Daniel and Nina (mainly Daniel) did not find out that Elsa set him up and was trying to break them up. I mean she may have been trying to protect(maybe idk) but still she was mean to Nina when it was her plan and it was just uncalled for.

I guess I'm on a kick about books with uber-rich men who need a girlfriend/fiance/wife to improve his relationship or reputation or job (I guess that's what One Hundred Free Books keeps offering me everyday for free; as a side note, that's a really neat organization that emails you free books to get everyday! whoo! Look it up!)

Anyway, back to the book... it was cutesy and there wasn't anything difficult about it. The characters were likeable all around, the supporting were some of my favorite. Nina, the main female, of course has no idea she's attractive even though she's Brazilian and therefore has that "exotic" looks that everyone else seems to find attractive. Daniel, the main male billionaire in need of a rep boost, came across as...goofy at times and, I hand it to Stone for bringing out the male emotions, at times a bit over-sensitive. Ah well, he's in touch with his feelings. Perhaps comparing it to other romances, this has some tension-filled moments of contact or a kiss here and there, but grazes over the "big moment." If you don't like all the details and like to infer, then it's okay!

Not sure if I'll continue the series or not. Maybe I'll see if OHFB finds the others some day for free.

Who Wants to Marry a Billionaire? was not what I expected but a sweet love story between an hard working young woman and a billionaire looking for a fake wife. Nina is a lovely character that helps all of her family, works of the DeVere Foundation on projects worldwide to help those less fortunate and enjoys her work.

Daniel DeVere is looking for an easy fix for his less than perfect reputation as a playboy and uses Nina's finances to tempt her into a contract for a false engagement and marriage in return for helping his family. This plan is promoted by Elsa, the business manager of the DeVere Foundation, who has her own agenda.

The more time Daniel and Nina spend together the stronger the attraction so real romance develops to save the romance, while Elsa works on her on agenda to mess up the plan...

It doesn't sound like a good plot but in the end the changes in the main characters, how they learn to be honest with each other and those close to them redeems the poor situation they start with in the beginning of the story.

I think Boris the bodyguard is the most interesting character to support the new lovers...

Contemporary work romance with a rich playboy trying to clean up his image for his father by faking a serious relationship with one of his workers.
Miss Nina Alves has a crazy family that has gotten too used to her fixing and paying for everything like tuition, rent, food, etc... So she doesn't take very good care of her self or date because she is focused on her charity foundation that she works for. The DeVere Foundation has been good to Nina, but she needs more money to fix her family's problems so she is tempted to take up Daniel DeVere's proposition for millions of dollars to be his fake fiance for at least a year. So the usual romance comes along after they become friends while being affectionate whenever there is an audience. Nina is a great smart moral woman who is probably too good for Daniel, but I guess love is blind when big money gets in front of you. So I didn't love this story but it was a quick short story if you like work romance stories.

This is the second time I have read this book. This second time I have read it I found it too be better than the first. This is Daniels and Nina's story in which you get an odd sort of take off on this book. For me it is a 4 star rating because of the fact that I would have really loved more detail into the story. It's a Cinderella story in its own right but I felt more connected to the book the second time around. I wish I could explain it but I unfortunately can't. You are just gonna have to pick up this read too find out what I did.
The author for me did a great job but not a fantastic one but whom am I too say even that. It's really a good book to pass the time away on a windy night. So enjoy it just like I did. Happy Reading

Several grammatical errors and the writing does not flow as well as it should. The author doesn't really make the main male lead, Daniel, a character that you'd really want for your hero. I did like the story itself, although the end with how Nina just accepted Daniel's explanation right off the bat instead of wanting more information--that just didn't sit well with me. And Elsa not being held accountable was also a point I didn't care for...unless this story is going to be continued with this being addressed later on. A good read though, something to pass the time for a couple of hours.

this is a quick read and has all the elements we all know: playboy that has to clean his image, good girl with financial problems, a deal to solve all their problems and someone to put the ice on. Nina and Daniel need something else to convince me that they were real. They aren't complex and didn't seem to have proper or real reactions to the events...some things were anoyning and hadn't helped the book.

Aside from the Pretty Woman scene, (walk into a high brow store in street clothes to have the clerks snub you) the book was good. A self-absorbed playboy blackmails a woman into pretending to be his fiance so he can buy a resort. Tables turn on him as he falls in live with her instead

This was a very sweet quick read. Nina and Daniel were so cute together. I liked that he realized being with Nina made him want to be a better man. I enjoyed the secondary characters and would love to see books for Rita, Kennedy and even Nina's mom Vicki.

I enjoyed this book. I like Nina a lot. She is the glue that holds her family together. She is smart and kind. She is the person you would want as a best friend. Daniel is rich and a playboy who wants to be better. Nina helps Daniel to be the man he wants to be. Can't wait for book two.

Who wants to Marry a Billionaire?

I think we all wish we could. This book was a wonderful read, I could not put it down.
The main characters developed as the book progressed and there was a reflective quality to the plot. Beautifully written.

Cute, but predictable book...aren't all romance books? Slight word and typographical errors were present. Clean romance, although there is sex it is not detailed. Thank you.

Nice, relaxing, easy read, quite predictable ending, gave it 4 stars even though I think 3,5 is more accurate. Good book for a Sunday afternoon.
