For weeks, college student Casper has been the victim of sail-by goosing and groping. The problem is that Casper would very much like to get more than groped by those wonderful, big, hot hands. With a journal full of clues, he sets out to discover who his mystery groper is. He may, however, be in serious trouble once he discovers the ominous identity.

Hot Hands is the first of five in a series of short stories, called ‘College Fun and Gays’. Each story is independent of the others and each covers a deep issue. Hot Hands focuses on the effects of high school bullying for being gay. Except for Hot Hands and its sequel, Cold Hands, they can be read in any order.

I haven't been writing since I was in diapers, nor have I been an avid reader since I learned my ABC's. I have, however, always been a daydreamer spinning tales after tales. After having exhausted every possible scenario of man-woman love, I started weaving stories of men who love men. I know! So much hotter. This time I wrote it all down.

I live in Iceland with my adorable little twin boys, and I'm happy with what I have. I often say that my real name sounds like Klingon to foreigners so I don’t even bother revealing it.

This title is now free. The sequel, Cold Hands, will be out shortly.

About the bullying:
For those interested, a lot of the emotions on being bullied come from my own feelings and experiences. Although it happened years ago, I still have a hard time looking into my tormentors' faces. The effects of bullying puts a permanent mark on the victim's soul, so while one may be able to forgive, it's impossible to forget.

Owning up to bullying, no matter how much time has passed, can do a lot to help the victim overcome the tragedy. So if you once bullied a person, or stood by and watched without helping, now would be a good time to get in contact with the victim and apologize :) Who knows, you might even get to know a wonderful person who never got to be themselves around all the intimidating kids at school.

Finally, my heart goes out to those who are currently being bullied, and to those who are struggling with the aftermath. Adults too, because kids are not the only ones who get bullied.

Really ???

Caspar lets himself be blindfolded and bound - to have sex for the first time! - with an unknown guy - who he suspects was his tormentor in highschool - where he was bullied - and tried to attempt suicide more than once because of him and his friends - and this is, by most readers, rated as a cute and funny story...what do I miss here???

Such a sweet story!

Casper is a college student lately has been groping – in a very enjoyable way. He never manages to catch “Hot Hands”, so he starts a journal, collects clues and tries to figure out who his elusive groper is.

As the story progresses, you get to know Casper and his painful high school years through his perceptive and funny narrative.

Hot Hands soon becomes bolder and bolder that results in really hot, blindfolded moments.
A warm, strong body looms over me, pressing down on my side. The sensation of the hot skin and muscles on mine feels so damn good.
Fuck. What to do?
I never thought I’d ever allow myself to become submissive enough to let a guy tie me up. But although this guy is a stranger to me, I really feel like I can trust him. He seems familiar and foreign to me at the same time.

Hot, intimate, funny, but also thought-provoking story.

Thanks for Vilda calling my attention to it! :)

I really enjoyed this short story it was a quick read the wrting was good the author made it quite enjoyable. The book touched on the subject of being bullied how it affected Casper but also how it was for the tormentor who had those exact same feeling but handled it in a very different way.

Being in the closet at a young age Jamie made some horrible choices. Great writing Erica and I gladly will read and review anything you have to offer. I gave this story 4 stars as the writing was excellent and left me wanting more.

3.5 short story stars!

If I'd taken this short story as reality, I'd say it showcase some pretty creepy stalker behaviour. But read as a steamy fantasy, it works.

Besides the smexy scenes it's about discovering who the admirer is, and if our protagonist would like the dude's attention as much depending on his identity. The resolution at the end worked well for me.

Short smexy read - but with major pet peeves. It was well written.

But for me the whole former bully turned into mysterious kinky lover didn't work at all.

I might have overlooked the sloppy handling of this as a plot device until attempted suicide came into play. Until this point bullying could have been making fun of, pushing around a bit - in no way okay. But given that the bullying led to a suicide attempt, I cannot in any way understand how this was forgiven so fast and not been more of an issue.

I assume that this was assumed a fun and sexy little read. It failed for me with bringing such serious and disturbing stuff into the play.

Casper, like so many kids gone off to college, finally feels free to be himself for the first time in his life. After spending his years in High School being constantly bullied by the same group of guys, he still finds it hard to come out to people, or open himself up in any way. As a consequence, he remains a virgin and hasn’t yet gone on any dates. Then, a man with large, confident hands begins to grope him in public, always finding a way to sneak away before Casper can see him. The mystery is tormenting Casper. He starts to feel a kinship with the anonymous man, one that leads to obsessive note taking over their encounters as he tries to puzzle out Hot Hands’ identity. Slowly, the groping lasts longer, then becomes quick blindfolded pleasures in dark corners and empty rooms. Casper is always blindfolded and restrained as he narrows his list of suspects. What will happen when he finds out who Hot Hands really is?

I love a good mystery that isn’t about dead bodies :) There’s something that is so satisfying about trying to puzzle out the clues with the characters, and in this story it was fun to imagine which guys were Hot Hands and why. When the groping escalates to blindfolded encounters, the power imbalance was a bit of a turn on, even if a bit scary when you really think about it. Casper is someone who has been through quite a bit of pain in his life, and the mystery gives him a game to focus on, and a way to connect with another man that he’s been unable to do on his own. Though it makes sense for Casper to be a virgin, I wish that he hadn’t been, as that took away a bit of the fun for me thinking that of all people, he deserved better treatment for his first time, no matter how much he enjoyed it.

Quite a bit of the story is very serious. Casper is a changed person after enduring so much torment throughout High School, and it has a great impact on the story. I thought that the consequences of bullying were written well and employed well into the mystery aspect of the story.

I will say that I’m still not sure if I actually like Hot Hands that much (the character) and I would have liked to see what happens after the resolution of the story. Still, that is my own personal curiosity and wouldn’t suit the story; it ended at the right time. I found one inconsistency in the text (confusion about his time in HS), but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story.

I’d definitely recommend this story. It is an interesting premise that took me a bit by surprise and immediately captivated me. I really liked Casper and sometimes his situation, both past and present, broke my heart. This is the first thing by Erica Pike that I’ve read, but I’ll definitely read more :) B+

I had a lot of trouble believing this story. The hot groping in halls, fine, the blindfolded session, sure. But your first time? And after suspecting it's one of your tormentors? Then worse is Hot Hands staying 'in' him while discussing the possibility. I mean, how could he just lay there and keep taking it? Didn't seem believable to me. I'm not one to jump into m/m, so I worried that was tainting my experience of the piece, but then I realized that if Cass had been Cassandra who was tormented for being overweight, it wouldn't be more believable to me. I'd expect her to wind up and kick him off.

The first sex scene was totally hot, but the second felt creepy, not sexy.

Super sweet, sexy, and quick read!! The MC has a Secret Admirer and spends the story trying to guess who it is from 3 or more possibilities. I guessed who Hot-Hands was as soon as we met his character, but I didn't care because I wanted it to be him anyways. It hit all my buttons that a short should, and I hope to read more about this couple. I now want to read more from this author.

This was a cute, fast and easy read. I found it a tad unrealistic that a young college guy would just allow basically a stranger to do the things Casper experienced, especially after Casper figures out who Hot-Hands is. It is almost too short to really get a good feel for any of the characters involved, but it was definitely an enjoyable quickie.

This short story has a bit of mystery, a bit of light bondage, a bit of angst and quite a bit of funny. Casper is a college student who was viciously harassed and bullied for his sexuality in high school (after being outed by his then best friend). It has hurt him deeply, and he’s a bit shy and untrusting of going after the men he wants. He is now in college, where he has a best friend who completely accepts and support him (Joey). He’s more confident, more outgoing and starting to live a little bit more. Joey spends time with the ladies, and wants Casper to go “man-hunting” for himself, giving the advice that “college is time for first sexual experiences”. Casper is a virgin.
Enter Hot Hands. Casper has no idea who he is, but Hot Hands is fueling Casper’s interest and his fantasies by finding opportunities to grope Casper, feeling and kneading his body but never revealing who he is. Casper has a notebook, where he is writing all the clues down, such as what Hot Hands smells like, where and when he is groped, etc. It’s a cute thing (especially when he is fearful his hot hands is Joey!).
I really didn’t like that Casper was willing to have sex with Hot Hands while not only not knowing who he was, but also having never actually seen him, since Casper is blindfolded each time. After everything Casper has been through, I wanted him to have a really amazingly tender first time, and it didn’t really come across that way. When you find out who Hot Hands is, well, I’m not sure how Casper will be able to move forward with him, as they do share a very negative history. Making amends can be extremely difficult when it’s just a serious life-changing thing.
It’s a funny story with some serious thoughts on bullying and how it affects both the victim and the bully. I thoroughly liked Casper, as well as Joey. Hot Hands? Well, not so sure on him, or his friend, but I’ll have to go with Casper and give them both benefit of the doubt. This is my first story by Erica Pike, and I will definitely be trying another one.

This was exactly the type of book I was looking for. It's quick, cute, amusing and definitely hot!

Casper is a young college student that's been getting groped by a stranger he's dubbed "Hot Hands". While Casper's never been able to catch Hot Hands, he's kept a detailed journal on all his encounters with the mysterious man. He's a mini-detective out to find the man who's hands he wants on more than just his bum! What follows is a cute, but intense, story that makes Casper not only better come to terms with his past but also settles Casper's suspicions on who Hot Hands is.

For such a short story, I honestly loved it. Casper is so adorable and his determination to figure out who Hot Hands is was just too cute. He's paranoid and suspicious of everyone from his best friend to students to teachers as long as they have the 'large hands' that constantly grope him. Some other things I loved about the story is that it's not just a cut and dry book but also delves into Casper's past and how he was bullied by two jocks. He's bitter and angry about the encounter and his emotions were very easy for me to believe because he's still traumatized and conflicting over his feelings when he finally figures out who Hot Hands is. Another thing I loved is that while I had my suspicions of who Hot Hands was, I kept second guessing myself. At first I was like, "It's for sure this guy" then I'd go, "Noo, it's this guy!" then back and forth again and again until I knew for certain in the end who the mysterious man was. And my first conclusions were right! But it was still fun with all the second guessing I was doing.

My only fault with the story was the way it ended. I felt like it was too abrupt and ended right when I was anxiously awaiting what was going to happen next! But then again, the last scene was so sweet, I still had a goofy smile on my face when it ended so I wasn't too upset.

All in all, definitely a great, quick book! I'm looking forward to the sequel because I can't wait to see how the next part in Casper and "Hot Hands" relationship turns out!

I relieved this novella from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a lightning fast read, but frankly something I need that. It’s like ordering an espresso. So what to say about this novella? I think the biggest thing I could mention is that this story is based around being bullied. And I think it is an important topic to discuss.

When I started reading this book I thought it was kind of cheeky, lol. But in the end, I thought that the message was powerful. More than anything

Also,

But still I found this story really good and I quite enjoyed it immensely. Erica Pike has a way in this story to make things steamy and interesting.

Who do I chose for my book boyfriend. Now that would be too easy and give to much away. But I liked to think that this is the outcome.

HOT HANDS is my first story by Erica Pike but it certainly won't be the last. It's only a few pages long, but she still managed to strung me out emotionally, make me grin with satisfaction and forced me to scroll down frantically when I reached that last page.

Casper has been having a problem only he's not quite sure if it's even a problem. Someone has been groping him, in lines, before class. What started as casual touches turned into full out ass grips and, while curious, Casper wants more. But the identity of his groper remains a secret and Casper is willing to indulge as long as he can get those hot hands on him.

This story deals with a serious issue of high school bullying and forgiveness. While mostly light, hot and entertaining, Casper has been through his share of trouble and the author makes you feel it.

I honestly liked all aspects of this story, from the characters to light touches and emotional dialogues. I was happy, sad and satisfied while reading this short story and I don't think any others I've read quite live up to that ‘short and sweet' line. I love it when I'm pleasantly surprised.

Erica Pike is becoming a new fave author of mine. I love her writing style, and the stories she writes with such awesmazing characters. After reading A Life Without You, I knew that I couldn't hold off on reading Hot Hands. It's such a darn shame it wasn't longer, because those few pages made my heart feel super happy.

Some stranger is groping Casper, and he is on a mission to find the culprit. The mission is harder than he imagined because it could be anybody, when so many students surround him. Casper is in college, leaving his hometown to escape the memories of being bullied and is trying to make fresh new happy memories. So who could be taking advantage of him again? Moreover, why do the hands groping him feel so good, and is making him want things he is afraid to have.

So Casper is out to catch his 'Hot Hands', but his avid sexy feeler upper wants his identity to remain a secret. The idea is but frightening and thrilling for Casper but he is willing to trust and take a chance because being groped as never felt so good. When Casper finally gets intimate with Hot Hands he picks up on some clues, and the truth might just destroy him. Because sometimes the past catches up with you.

Hot Hands offers up such a great little read, the author took chances and I really liked that. The story touches on the serious subject of bullying, and can the victim and the bully as adults form some kind of relationship. It's a hard hitting, sexy romp of a read.

I would love to read about Casper and his 'Hot Hands'. I would really like to get to them better and they have so much to overcome.

GAH, that was so freaken good but I'm tempted to bump it down a star for not having ONE MORE chapter!!!

A couple things that, while not quite complaints, might have helped make the story more realistic or emotionally effective:

1) I liked the blindfold but I wish Casper had refused to be tied up.

2) v-card

Casper is being groped at school and he wants to know who is doing it. He's started a journal where he details the little things: "time, places, level of gropage" hoping that gathering more evidence will help him indentify the mystery man. I found this a pretty amusing read but I didn't like the level of trust he put in "Hot Hands", his groper. This is definitely an interesting set up though. I'll be checking out the direct sequel: Cold Hands plus the other related college books in the series.

3.5. I really enjoyed this short story about a young man who has gone off to college and begins to experience a new life as himself. In high school, Casper was outed and subsequently bullied - somewhat relentlessly. At college he feels free enough to not hide himself and he finds himself to be the object of some public groping and he sets out to discover the culprit, I don't want to spoil the story so I won't say anymore about the road to discovery. I will say that the ending was both satisfying and a ittle surprising.

I may be a little biased here as a hopeless romantic, but this isn't my idea of the best way to have your first time. Other than that though this is a cute little read. I loved Casper's referring to his unknown stalker as "Hot Hands," so cute.

Casper was bullied a lot in high school for being gay and those memories are still very much with him. But he's off in college now and he is bound and determined to lose his virginity. He wants a real boyfriend and everything that goes with it. Now Mr. Hot Hands has caught his attention. He has no idea who the guy is, but often when he's out in a crowd or passing down the hall he'll feel hands grabbing at this ass. Whenever he turns around it's impossible to figure out who it is. Now Hot Hands has become even more adventurous, and Casper wants desperately to know who it is. With all his journal entries taking notes of the things he notices about Hot Hands maybe he can figure it out.

I think my biggest problem with this book is I don't like the idea of him not knowing who the guy is before they have sex for the first time. Again it's the hopeless romantic thing. Your first time should be with someone you know cares about you and I felt so bad for Casper when his first time was taken over by fear of just who exactly it was and trying to decide if this was real or just another trick by his old high school bullies, no matter how much he enjoyed the experience. I did feel like Hot Hands (not gonna give away who it is ultimately ;)) really did care about him though and doing it any other way would have ruined the ending the way the author wanted to tell it.

I really did enjoy Casper's detective work though. So silly and fun. I wanted everything to work out for him and for him to get his HEA. I struggled right along with Casper as he worked through his fear of who it might be if it was one of the guys from high school. Again how physical it got with Casper blindfolded just threw me a little. But I would have liked to have read more. I would like to know how these two work everything out because the forgiveness comes a little fast here in the end.

Still all in all this book was well written and I'd be curious to read more by the author. I'd especially love to see where these two go in the future. The concept here was really interesting and was an interesting way to bring two people together.

I have wanted to read this series of shorts for awhile now. The author gave me a push in the right direction today (probably without realizing it) and for that I am grateful.

Casper is a college student who had endured horrible bullying in high school by two guys, Jaime and Mike, as a result of being outed by a so-called friend. Once in college he tries to put that behind him. He has a best friend and roommate who accepts him for who he is, a gay man.

Casper starts getting groped by an unknown person at school. This happens often and in various places on campus but the person always moves out of sight before Casper can figure out who is doing it. I will say straight up that the groping part gave off a major stalker and creepy vibe right off. Casper is being touched sexually by an unknown person? Someone who refuses to show himself? Then the groping goes beyond just touches in crowded halls or whatever. It turns into sexual situations with Casper's eyes covered and his hands tied behind his back. I will say honestly that I did not think I would be able to get beyond that. It was too much and I did I mention creepy? Stalkerish? But then something happened. During one of the intimate moments the stranger is figured out... sort of. It's not quite who Casper believes it is but it's close. Then I realized that Casper willingly allowed those things to happen and did not fight it... why? Because he wanted it. He wanted the sexual experiences and he wanted this unknown man.

Without giving away the complete story (as I've noticed that some other reviewers have) I will say that I really enjoyed this. Sure, it took me a little while to get beyond the other stuff but once I did, it was a really good story. This is about redemption and it is about forgiveness. The ending, while I really wish it would have been a little bit longer, was perfect. I had the little twist figured out quite early in the story but it did not detract from it in any way.

Overall, a very enjoyable read. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

A shockingly entertaining read. This has to be one of the best short stories I have ever read. Casper starts off the book looking for the mysterious hands that keep grouping him around campus. I was immediately drawn into the story wanting to figure out who Hot Hands is. I was full of anticipation, yelling at my computer many times; who is it?? I know who he is!! Back to who is it?? Throughout the short story I felt as though I knew who Hot Hands was however, the way the story is written and the emotions behind Casper’s relationship with the most likely “suspect” had me second and third guessing myself. I wanted Casper to be happy but I didn’t want his past to come back and haunt him.

It’s hard to believe Casper and his mystery groper become involved before Casper even sees his face but I think it adds excitement and fun to the story. It also made me want to know even more who the man was behind the deep voice and the big hands.

I don’t think I have ever fallen for a character as fast as I fell for Casper. I loved this story beginning to end. I’m recommending this book because I feel like it’s a short story that will add a little excitement to the reader’s day.
