What started out as a one-night stand ended with two pink lines on a stick.
Did I mention he was my boss?
It's been a year since an emotional breakup made me skip town. Yet, I still can't escape my ex’s hold on me. Not only does my love for him make it hard to move on, a burning secret makes our connection impossible to break.
Big brown eyes, curly hair, cute dimples, just like his dad.
A baby. Gabriel’s baby.
The child he can never know about.
But Gabriel’s determined to find me. To reclaim me. His powerful influence soon gets me back under his radar. Now, he's fighting like hell to win me back.
What should I do about the secret that still stands between us? I know how much Gabriel hates being betrayed.
As he wears me down, pushing me to the edge of surrender, can I trust him with the truth? Or will this secret be the final blow that destroys us for good?
Possession is a second chance romance featuring:
✓A (touch her and I'll end you) alphamale and a sassy h
✓ Emotional, spicy scenes
✓ Other woman/ other man drama (no cheating)
A satisfying HEA.
The finale and Zyon and Gabriel's love story is only a click away!
Erika Bradley has been an avid romance reader most of her life, long before she was even allowed to read steamy novels. Recently, she decided to step to the other side of the world she loved and wrote her first romance novel, Intoxication.
Erika writes steamy, suspenseful plots with flawed, emotional characters that will keep readers turning each page. Her aim is to give each reader a satisfying escape.
When she’s not writing, you may find her curled up with a book or gardening. She also enjoys island trotting during her extended breaks.
This story has it all, two damaged people who breakup due to a misunderstanding, a hidden pregnancy, a dubious wanna be boyfriend and problems with parents. Throw in some steamy scenes and it all combines into a great story. There are some dark issues in the background especially with Zyon’s mum which are explained giving more depth to understanding Zyon’s character. It’s all such a mess but Gabriel intends to make amends and get back together with Zyon and his baby. Adrian comes across as a bit of a creepy character and Zyon notices this more so when he makes her feel uncomfortable. As a first time mum she is understandably very insecure, in addition this led to her biggest flaw in not telling Gabriel he was going to be a father. Definitely a page turner, I was on Team Gabriel from the start but did get worried when he admitted defeat. What a journey this book took me on, it was an emotional rollercoaster but the HEA got there at the end.

This series is perfect for being everything toxic-- miscommunication, love triangles, damaged souls, possession. I thought this was a solid ending for Gabriel and Zyon's story although I did feel that there were a few things that went unresolved. I'm glad they were forced to mature and handle things head on instead of ignoring all their problems.
I'm still heavily interested in all the side characters and wanting to know what going on with them so here's to hoping it isn't the last we see of everyone!
Y’all don’t want to know how long I’ve waited on this book. I have been re-reading Intoxication and Deception over and over again. This author wrote an incredible story, the story Zyon and Gabriel deserved, the ending they deserved. Both of them were forced to grow up, decide what they wanted and fight for it. Sometimes they both frustrated me so much but I heavily enjoyed their back and forth. Safe to say I have to wake up for work this morning and I just stayed up binging the entire book.
Bonus points: the author is a black woman and the female lead is a black woman not mixed with anything which is rare in a lot of IR romance books. It’s important for unambiguous black women to be showcased in romance books, whether IR or AA.
Looking forward to what this author writes next. I’m going to miss Zyon and Gabriel and I hope we see them again.
This book is literally the definition of miscommunication. Don't get me wrong I like the miscommunication trope but oh man I don't think I've ever read a book with this much of it. I'm a sucker for groveling and although this book did have groveling I feel like there could have been way more. Overall I enjoyed this book a lot and wish nothing but the best for this family :).

The third book in Erika Bradley's damaged heart trilogy, "Possession," picks up where the previous installment left off, continuing the bad miscommunication that plagues Gabriel and Zyon.
From the very beginning, I found myself questioning their ability to trust their own instincts and instead relying on what other people have to say. The characters seemed incapable of making decisions independently and were always swayed by the opinions of those around them. This predictability took away any sense of suspense or surprise, as the reader already knew what was going to happen next.
The constant misunderstandings and miscommunications between Gabriel and Zyon made the story feel stagnant and repetitive. The characters seemed unable to break free from this cycle of dysfunction and seemed destined to remain trapped in a never-ending loop of drama.
This predictability not only made the story less engaging but also took away any sense of growth or development. Throughout the book, there was an overwhelming amount of angst and frustration due to constant misunderstandings.
The characters seemed incapable of resolving their issues and instead allowed outside influences to drive a wedge between them. This repetitive pattern became tiresome and frustrating, as it hindered any progress in the story. Both Gabriel and Zyon seemed stuck in their ways, making little to no progress towards resolving their issues.
Gabriel, in particular, came across as stoic and unemotional, lacking the complex depth that was evident in the first book. His lack of assertiveness and inability to stand up for himself made him seem weak and uninspiring.
This continuously plagued the book because of the complete lack of trust between Gabriel and Zyon. They proved time and time again that they could not rely on their own judgment, and instead, they allowed others to influence their decisions. This lack of trust not only hindered their relationship but also prevented any real progress in their emotional development. The lack of faith in their own instincts made the characters seem weak and unable to make decisions for themselves. It felt as though they were trapped in a cycle of miscommunication and mistrust, with no resolution in sight.
Another aspect that hindered the story was the constant reliance on outside influences to drive a wedge between the characters.re seemed to be a constant stream of external forces that are pushing them apart, rather than allowing them to come together. This repetitive pattern became tiresome and predictable, as it hindered any real character development or growth. The characters seemed incapable of resolving their issues on their own and allowed external forces to dictate the course of their relationship. As a result, the story felt stagnant and lacked any real sense of progression.
Furthermore, the decision to hide a pregnancy from Gabriel did not justify the author's reasoning behind it. The author's justification for this decision lacked depth and credibility. Gabriel's character, on the other hand, came across as stoic and unimpressive. He lacked any real depth or complexity, which made him difficult to empathize with. His lack of assertiveness and masculinity made him seem weak and ineffective. This lack of character development for both Gabriel and Zyon made the story feel one-dimensional and uninteresting.
In conclusion, "Possession" is a book that fails to deliver on its promises of a compelling and emotionally engaging narrative. It was a frustrating read, primarily due to its predictable plot and lack of character development. The characters seemed trapped in a cycle of miscommunication and misery, with no hope of resolution in sight. The absence of growth or development in their relationship made the story less engaging and took away any sense of satisfaction. This repetitive pattern became tiresome and frustrating, as it hindered any progress in the story.
I really enjoyed this trilogy! Gabriel and Zyon both have issues from their past. The meet for one night when Gabriel saves Zyon from being robbed and he is instantly smitten, it was only supposed to be one night and they never see each other again. Zyon sticks to this ever since she was attacked. She then takes a position as Gabriel's assistant and they spend a lot of time in close proximity to each other.
Gabriel's best friend Nicole features heavily in the first 2 books and he is blind to her as he only sees her has a friend. The second book ends on a cliffhanger when Zyon catches Gabriel and Nicole together.
At the start of book 3 they are separated and Zyon is harboring a secret in the form of her son, Liam. She had moved away never to return. She is convinced he had moved on. They meet by chance when Gabriel is opening up a new hotel and he works hard for a second chance but Zyon blows it and at one point, he tries to move on with someone else which he absolutely forces. They eventually get their acts together and all is right in the world. Overall an enjoyable trilogy but there are definitely some trigger here so do check first!
This is the third installment of the love journey between Gabriel and Zyon but it can be read as a stand-alone. I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything.
The plot is good and the author takes you on a journey of the present with bits of the past interjected which was so good as it helped understand the journey of these two.
I enjoyed their story. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Their souls are tied and their synergy is unbelievable.
I loved the reference to the street foods I ate as a child. It brings back memories of those carefree days.
I like the unpredictability. The author kept the guessing game right up to the end. I will miss these two even though I have only just met them but I can’t wait to read Lauren’s story.
If you enjoy interracial romance with some angst and excellent chemistry then you will enjoy this.
I received a copy of this book and the review is entirely mine.
Where do I even start? For sure, Erika Bradley has done it again, pulling me so deep into a story, getting me invested, making me ugly cry...
Possession began with a secret, which led to some groveling, then some miscommunication that made me want to shake Zyon. Like, here is a beautiful man fighting for you, what are you doing?? Glad she came to her senses, though it was almost too late. Oh, when she fell in the rain... (my heart).
And that couch scene after she got out of those wet clothes? HOTTT!!
That 2am text message on Gabriel's phone? Like, that angsty scene was EVERYTHING.
Just go read Possession, guys. Although you may want to start with book 1 (Intoxication).
If you love, spicy, angsty romance, then you'll love this!
I loved this story. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. But from the get-go, I was rooting for them to make it. They almost didn't! There was other man and other woman drama (thankfully no cheating whatsoever) but the addition of other love interests made the plot so enticing. I loved the storyline that led them back to each other. As usual, the characters were well developed (even the side ones), the spice was spicing for sure (I enjoyed the scene where she snuck into his hotel room). Yeah, that was hot. The villains got was was coming to them which was so satisfying.
I recommend the entire series. Looking forward to this author's next story!
Zyon is in Jamaica and has done everything she can for Gabrielle not to find her, but words will once again be twisted and secrets will come out.
The thing I love about this author is the narrative they tell, Bradley knows how to tell a story and the third installment to this series is no exception.
I found my heart pulsating reading this, scared for the characters and feeling emotions for situations with this novel.
Bradley’s writing flows with ease and anticipation I couldn’t put this novel down.
For anyone who has not read this author, I highly recommend them.
Possession: An Angsty, Secret Baby Romance Novel (Book 3 of the Damaged Hearts) by Erika Bradley. I thought this book was entertaining. The author does a great job keeping you vested in the story and outcomes. Filled with a good mix of emotionally charged drama, personal conflicts, and plenty of heated chemistry. Good one click pick choice if you are looking for something steamy and full of drama while routing for the HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am glad that Gabriel and Zyon finally got their HEA! Whew! Both of them got on my nerves especially Zyon because of her immaturity and Gabriel (typical male) was so dense when it came to the women that he thought were his "friends"! I am hoping that the author will write a continuing story about this couple in another storyline for Zyon's bestie! She is a great friend to Zyon and also deserves happiness for herself and her baby girl! This was a great read!
Possession by Erika Bradley is a good, and enjoyable steamy billionaire grumpy sunshine forced proximity opposites attract secret baby second chance romance read. The story has a great entertaining world building story line. The characters are great, and they have great chemistry. This story is a very entertaining read that will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wowow this books was so amazing. I couldn’t put it down. Thoroughly enjoyed this entire series . From when it started to now. The charters were amazing story telling as well. I don’t want to spoil the story but wow. I am glad that Gabriel and Zyon finally got their situation settled. 😅 The hidden pregnancy. Wow this story was so toxic-- miscommunication, love triangles, damaged souls, possession. What else do you want . I can’t wait for more bring it . 🥰
I’m a sucker for a good HEA, and Zyon and Gabriel got theirs. This book is filled with miscommunication, meddling “friends”, a hidden child, steamy moments, and a wonderful second chance.
This was the third book in the series, but I read it as a standalone and didn’t feel like I was missing anything. I am however, going to go back and read the others because I loved the author’s work.

Possession is a steamy, secret baby, angsty, second-chance romance. Zyon and Gabriel had a one night stand. She ended up pregnant and ran away. Gabriel wants her back. This story was a roller coaster of emotions for me. The chemistry was hot with lots of spicy scenes. At times, I just wanted to slap Zyon, but through the ups and downs, we finally get a happy ending.

God, I loved Zyon and Gabriel’s story…. The book is filled with angst, hunger, groveling, sadness, passion and so much more. Liam is just a bonus for their story and I really hope he gets some siblings soon :))))) I knew they’d find the happy ending they deserved, but damn that was one hack of a ride. I absolutely loved all three books, and how it was always keeping me on my toes, always bringing something new and unexpected.
This was an awesome read. The author sure knows how to write a story with all the twists and turns. I did not get to read the other two books in the series but truly I never felt left off. It was very well put together and the two main characters were developed so well. In my estimattion this author has lots of more books to come!
This was such an emotional read for me. These characters had me on the edge of my seat. At times I wanted to cry for them and the next I wanted to give them a good shaking. It was definitely an intense read. I did enjoy the book and it is well written. I definitely recommend this story.

First of, I was a bit annoyed with the characters as I felt they were dense and irritating with the nonsensical decisions they made. I didn't like the menace Adrian, who was manipulative as hell and that the MFC keeps giving in into his so called friendship forgiving his advances and sleavy behavior. I also didn't like the fact that the MMC was a douche, defending his bestfriend Nichole who was against his happiness. However, I did like the HEA they got, they so deserves it after all the shit they been through. I believed the writer did a wonderful job bringing this story to life and should definitely work on a continue story to give a view into what life is after being engaged and then some.
It was a beautiful read and I really enjoyed it. My investment was paid off at one point.

This is the first time I've read anything by Erika Bradley, and I'm so glad I decided to read Possession. This second chance, miscommunication tropes romance was off the charts hot.
A year ago, Zyon and Gabriel (Zyon`s boss) had a one-night stand that ended up with Zyon pregnant. After a miscommunication, Zyon fleas without telling Gabriel about the pregnancy. A year later she unexpectably bumps into Gabriel and the chemistry between the two is still there.
The tension between the two and the sparks was off the charts. I loved Gabriel. He was possessive, obsessive, and an alpha male.
