In Four Letters you’ll learn all about three couples...

Sterling and Skye

Skye is a spoiled little rich girl, who has never had to do more than bat her eyelashes at her father to get whatever she wanted. When she received her degree, her plan was to open an art gallery catering to the uber rich. The last thing she needed was a man getting in her way. But, there’s just something about Sterling. He’s an alpha male that gives her what she’s always craved, the ability to let someone else take control. Could Sterling be the man Skye needs to help her relinquish control and change her spoiled ways?

Asher and Lilly

When Lilly was a small child, her parents were killed in a fire. Since the loss of her parents, she’s never truly felt loved or safe. Now that Lilly’s dream of becoming a teacher has come true, she worries that her dream of finding Mr. Right might not. That all changes the day that Asher literally runs into her in the park. Could Asher be the man to make Lilly feel safe and give her the happily ever after she’s always dreamed of?

Tanner and Adlee

To say that Adlee had a rough childhood would be quite the understatement. When she was barely ten years old, her mother killed herself, leaving Adlee in the care of her stepfather, Paul. Paul was not a nice man. When Tanner walked into the café she was working at and witnessed the way Paul treated her, he knew he had to step in. Could Tanner be the man to prove to Adlee that she is worthy of love and help her regain her self respect?

I grew up in a really small town in Missouri. Very similar to the fictional towns I write about. I moved to the big city right after I graduated. I work full-time and I am mom to a beautiful little girl.

I started writing in October 2012 when a group I am a member of had a prologue contest. I didn't win the contest, but everyone who read my prologue asked for more of my story. I decided I had to finish it and get these characters that were in my head out on paper. During the writing process it became clear that these characters had a lot to say. So I realized my story was really a series:

The Destined Series
Destined to Change (Available Now)
Destined to Succeed (Available Now)
Destined to Forgive (Coming Fall 2013)
Destined to Rock (Coming Winter 2013)
Destined to Overcome (Coming Early 2014)

I am a really boring person, so this bio is super short! This is really about all there is to know about me. Sad, isn’t it. lol

I love music and honestly couldn't write without my Spotify playlist. I am kinda obsessed with frogs (not real ones) and office supplies are my downfall! I could spend my whole paycheck at the stationery store...boring, didn't I already say that? lol

Also, I am slightly addicted to Facebook and Voxer. Please message me on either one...I would love to hear from ya’ll.

I really didn't have any pre-conceived notions going into Four Letters ~ I jumped into with both feet and immediately was .......

Four Letters opens up with Skye & Spencer's story! Skye comes a very well to do family! Her parents marriage was arranged and growing up she saw what that did to the two of them so she made a pact with herself that she would always be in control of her life. She accompanies her father to one of his business dinners and she meets Spencer. Yes, he is smartly dressed in a tux, handsome, and well he had Skye.......

they had instant chemistry! Spencer wanted the one thing Skye didn't want to give up ~ CONTROL ~ but only in the bedroom. We watch as their relationship progresses and there was a ton of....

This is what I loved about Four Letters is it ends Skye's & Spencer's story with me thinking HUH??? then jumps into Lilly & Asher's story! Lilly is a single schoolteacher. She always dreamed of meeting "Mr. Right" and starting a family. Well her daily visits to a local park become more planned when her eyes landed on Mystery Man! He was extremely hot, to die for body and the type a guy you could....

I was cool since I had a good portion of the book left to go! So Adlee sweet, young Adlee who literally has lived in Hell for a good portion of her young life with the worst monster you can think of! She's working the local diner in Missouri when a stranger intervenes on her behalf after some crude comments and inappropriate grabbing occurred. She tried to get him to step back but he was adamant and this was her first interaction with Tanner. Her knight in shining armor. Of course, he is great looking and just appeared to be a country boy. **WARNING** you have to be very open minded when reading this story!!!
That being said this was a roller coaster one that I wasn't sure how to hang on too when I first starting reading it... As the story kept going I realized no matter what I wasn't going to judge until the very end because let me tell ya I wanted to castrate these men and loved them at the same time! Ugh right!! But wow some hot steamy scenes and hot men.. The woman were very strong in this story and I love that!! And some of the secondary characters I fell in love with too! I just absolutely loved Sterling his character was my fav male in this book! Not saying that I didn't like Asher or Tanner but you know there is always a fav and I love the take charge man! I'm not going to give away this story at all but what I can guarantee is u will get a twist that maybe some expected or it's gonna shock the heck out of you like it did to me!! But in all it was well written and made me cry and scream and just lots of emotions and for that I know it's a great story!! Thanks Lisa for this amazing story!

I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this book. I adore Lisa and love her Destiny Series, but this book is so far away from her normal writing, as I was reading it, I kept wanting to go back and make sure that this is was LISA HARLEY that was the author of this book! LOL.

This book is about three couples and how their lives are intertwined. Although you don't know until the end just how it is that they are are intertwined together. And when I got to the end I was in shock....absolute shock I tell you. This book is one of those books that will stay with you. You will be thinking about it for a few days or weeks or months after reading it. And the epilogue totally blew me out of the water completely! 5 Mind Blowing Stars for this book. It will leave you going WTH!! and then make you want to re-read it all over again. SO SO GOOD LISA!!!

Amazing Amazing read! 5+ WOW that was Amazing stars!!!!
Holy Shit! Where do I even begin to start with this one! I loved, loved, loved this book! I have read Lisa's other two books and I thought they were awesome. But Four Letters is in a league of its own. I have yet to read another book like it. Ms. Harley seriously has a way with words. She makes you love, hate, admire, swoon, jump up and down and want to throw your kindle. Four Letters is AMAZEBALLS! Each story is filled with unbelieveable sexual chemistry. The characters are so well written and the story lines are so well thought out. I was lucky enough to read this book prior to the release of the ARCs and can say that Lisa has hit this one out of the park.
Story 1- Skye and Sterling: Skye is a wealthy art gallery owner. Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she has never wanted for anything. She has attended the best schools and has been given anything that she has ever wanted. She is in complete control of her life and career. Growing up she only had herself to rely on. Her parents were not ones to show her any affection, so she never knew what it was to give and receive love. She does not do relationships for that very reason. She is in it for the physical aspect as long as she has control. On the night of a business event that she has attended with her father, she catches the eye of Sterling. His breathtaking blue eyes were so intense, making her stop to catch her breath. She had to meet him. Skye never expects Sterling to tear her walls down to make her relinquish control. He is all alpha male and it is so freaking hot! The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts hot. Lisa knows how to write some steamy ass sex scenes. Sterling manages to show Skye just how much he loves her and eventually gets her to say those three little words back to him.
Story 2- Lilly and Asher: Lilly is a Kindergarten teacher, who hopes one day to be a wife and mother. It is what she dreams of, meeting Mr. Right, getting married and having their own little family. At the age of five Lilly lost both of her parents in a tragic house fire. She was then raised by her Aunt Diane and her family. They were the most unloving, uncaring people around. It was was because of this that she wanted to be a teacher. She wanted to show children that they were loved and cared about. Lilly likes to spend time at Smith Park, she goes here to unwind after her days at work. She likes to watch the children play and daydream about they life that she could eventually have. One day a man about her age comes jogging through the park and catches Lilly's attention. She is mesmerized by him. She decides to find a more private spot in the park so that it is not so obvious that she is watching him on his daily runs. What she has yet to realize is that he has been watching her too. When Asher approaches her and introduces himself he does not hesitate to ask her to dinner. He pulls out all the stops and puts together a romantic dinner at the hotel he is staying at. They never even get a chance to eat. The air between them is filled with so much sexual electricity that they skip the meal altogether. One night of heated passion turns into marriage a year later. Lilly's dreams are coming true. I have to add that the start of this story is funny as hell. Lisa can write some funny shit....LOL
Story 3- Adlee and Tanner: Adlee is emotionless. She learned a long time ago to shut them off. Since she was eight her life has been a living hell. At the age of ten her mother commits suicide and leaves her with her to be raised by the monster of a step father, who has claimed her as his own, in more ways than one. At the age of 15, her step father moves her to a new town, where they can start over new. Where he believes they can finally be together. He has such a strong hold over her. She never thinks she will be able to get away. Paul has made everyone believe that they are a couple. He is controlling and manipulative. He has her scared and willing to do anything to keep their secret hidden from the world. When one day a man walks into the diner where she works and sees how she is treated by her boyfriend (step father). What Tanner witness's over the course of a weeks time sickens him to the core and he has this unwavering feeling to save this girl. He could tell from day one that something truly was not right. So when the chance presents itself he takes her away from all the hell she is living through and gives her a new life. Tanner shows her that she can be who ever she wants. That she does not have to answer to know one. He helps her get the help she needs to put her horrible past behind her. what he never expects is to fall in love with the amazing girl that Adlee is. Knowing that her past has made it so hard for her to trust, he shows her that he won't hurt her and that she is worth being loved. What Tanner soon realizes is that Adlee feels the same way about him. After proposing to Adlee and planning a simple wedding they start their lives together.
Story 4- I am not going to even get into this one. I am afraid if I do I will spoil this awesome work of uniqueness. I would like to say that I am at a loss for words. But as you can plainly see I am not. Three awesome, amazing, love filled, cry your eyes out, get mad, gasp, yell, scream, laugh, swoon, droll, jump up and down, where the hell did that just come from stories and the fourth one puts it all into perspective. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor and say what the hell did I just read. This honestly has to be one of my top ten reads this year. I cannot wait to read what Lisa comes up with next. She truly has a gift for writing stories that draw you in from page one and make you fall in love with the characters. Her character development is awesome. The scenes she writes are filled with so much emotion and chemistry. I love her writing style. She is so multi story oriented...if that makes any sense. 5+ Hot Sexy Steamy Mind Blowing Stars!!!!!

Four Letters by Lisa Harley is a story of four couples. Each story is different. Each couple is different. They all live in different areas of the country with totally different lifestyles. They all have one thing in common. A letter.

I started this book not quite sure of what to expect. I knew there was this mystery letter that tied these couples together. I don't know if anyone else does this, but when a book starts with a mystery of some kind I make a general prediction in my mind of what the answer is. Part of the fun is seeing whether I was right as the mystery is revealed. With Four Letters, I am proud to say that I was right. The way I felt about the answer was what surprised me.

I'll start with Skye and Sterling. They are rich. I mean loaded. Skye was from old money. She was spoiled, an only child of a loveless marriage. Her mother was a kind woman in a marriage arranged by her father to a shrewd, cold man. He wasn't cruel to her. He was just absent. She had everything she wanted but the love of her husband. Skye saw this growing up and swore she would never be like her mother. Then he met Sterling. He was breathtakingly handsome with an air of confidence that followed him. Skye finds something in Sterling that she has wanted by didn't know. A man to take care of her and allow her to let down her guard. They were perfect together, until a letter changed everything.

Asher and Lilly were the sweet couple. Lilly was a kindergarten teacher content with her life. She had lost her parents early in life and just wanted someone to love her and make her feel safe. When she met Asher one day in the park, it was fate. They got married, bought a house in the suburbs and life was perfect. Until the letter arrived.

Tanner and Adlee were really different than the other two couples. Adlee is a broken person. She has lived in hell at the hands of her stepfather for years. She gave up hope a long time ago. That is until Tanner, a long haul truck driver, walks into the diner where Adlee works. He saves her, takes her away from her horrible life, and helps her heal. Their's was the sweetest of all the stories. Until one day a letter arrived...

I couldn't for the life of me figure out how the book was going to turn out. All of the couples had different stories. There was nothing to connect them. Why would they all receive the same letter that would change their lives forever. Then the common denominator was revealed. Wait until you read what that was!

There is another story the synopsis didn't mention. It's the story of Daniel and Becca. They are in high school, live next door to each other, and are best friends. When Daniel's parents divorce, things change and they are separated when one goes to California for college and one heads to New York. You'll get more of their story throughout the book, but I can't tell you too much. They end up living together after college and remain best friends throughout the years.

This is a difficult review because I can't even really tell you how I felt as I read the book. If I do, I will have to give away why I hated it in parts and loved it in others. Even when it made me so angry I wanted to strangle certain characters, I realized I really liked those characters. They were the same, yet different. Their personalities were totally different and their motives were honestly only to help. These characters knew they shouldn't do what they did, but they just couldn't stop. It was one of those times where I saw the inevitable coming, but I hoped it would turn out differently...knowing that there was only one way it could possibly end.

So, I feel like I've told you nothing in this review. I loved the book. I couldn't put it down because I had to see what happened. I had to know what those damned letters said! Well, I got to read the letters at the end, and they actually made me glad Lisa waited until the end to give them to me. They eased my heart, and they soothed my sadness.

Review for Four Letters by Lisa M. Harley

Four letters was a heart wrenching story about love, loss, and moving forward. Lisa did an amazing job with character development and keeping the flow to the story interesting. It can be very hard to time jump and keep a story fluid, but the author managed to do that not only once, but four times with four sets of characters. I have to give her huge props for that and maybe a couple “I’m not worthies.”
First, we meet Sterling and Skye. Skye is a princess who always gets her way. She is in control of every situation, including her sexual encounters. Sterling is a wealthy dominant who has an instant attraction to Skye. Their relationship starts with a lot of push and shoves as Skye tries to have her way while Sterling asserts his dominance. Their story follows them through the ups and downs of love, marriage, life, loss, and so much more.

The second couple we meet is Asher and Lilly. Asher is a sweet, charismatic man, he travels a lot for his job and even though he isn’t looking for love- he recognizes the pull when he first sees Lilly. Lilly is a gentle soul who can’t seem to catch a break. On the day she refers to as “Vomit-a-Geddon” she seeks solace in her favorite park. That is where she sees him again, only this time he notices her too. They both feel the instant attraction of love at first sight. Their story follows them through love, marriage, parenthood, life, and so much more.

Things get kind of deep with our third set… I wouldn’t call them a couple, since things aren’t the same with them- Tanner and Adlee are different than the others and yet have more in common than you can ever imagine. Tanner is an over the road trucker, he was passing through town on his way home and happened to find himself in the same café Adlee worked at. Adlee lives a life of survival. Her life has been one hell after another and she can’t even imagine that things can be different for her. Tanner sees how broken and fearful Adlee is, determined to make things better for her he does something completely unorthodox… he brings her to his home and takes care of her. This part of the story will break your heart into tiny pieces. I fell instantly in love with Adlee and her spirit. She never gave in to hopelessness no matter how bad things were for her she just kept right on moving forward. You will get to see how she moves forward with a life she never thought she could have, to love and be loved, and even more important than that- to trust.

Daniel and Becca have been best friends forever. When Daniel’s dad leaves his mother and him for his secret family it changes everything for them. Stuck in a world of denial his mother pushes him away. Becca is there to help him through, with his hefty trust fund; they live the teenage dream traveling across country visiting the many properties he inherited. Is theirs the type of friendship that can withstand the test of time? Or will life get in the way?
When the letters are delivered you will feel like you are right there with them as they read how one person’s actions will forever change their lives as they know it… this book is a must read. It gets five stars for how well the story is spun and three wet panties for the smut factor.

4.5 stars

Love is a slimy bastard that hits you like a ton of f***ing bricks and then says, “How’d you like that? Now what are you gonna do about it?”

Three couples
Three sweet romances
Three letters...well, make that four letters...that change everything

Sterling and Skye

Skye is a spoiled rich princess who has been controlled by her father her whole life and swears no man will control her again. Enter Sterling Smith. He is hot, sexy, charismatic and domineering. Even though he also likes control, they just fit together. It all seemed like a perfect match. But years together provide some challenges. And a letter will change everything.

Asher and Lilly

Lilly does not think she will meet the man of her dreams. But she finds that in Asher. He is perfectly attentive, sweet, caring, and loving. He is everything she ever hoped for and their lives seem picture perfect. But are they? Will something tear their perfect little life apart? A letter can provide the answers.

Tanner and Adlee

A troubled home life causes her to lock her own emotions away. She is forced to live a life she detests with a man she hates. Tanner swoops in and saves her in every way he can. He helps her find yourself and heal. It seems like she might actually finally have a chance at true happiness. But a letter arrives that will challenge it all.

How do these couples lives connect? What are the secrets? Can you figure it out? I can honestly say that I am usually good at figuring out plot twists and I was clueless. I actually beta read this book, so I read each couple's story one at a time, and then had to wait a bit for the end part. And I was wracking my brain trying to figure out the secrets and how this whole thing was going to wrap up. It was very interesting how she wove three completely different stories together and finally provided the missing link in the final part.

By the time I got to the last part, I was surprised. I had some theories. I was really trying to piece it together on my own, but I really did not. So I was shocked and had to wrap my head around it all. But by the time I was done, it all came together. And even as things were becoming clearer, she would throw other little twists in to keep me gasping.

This was definitely a unique and different story. I have not read another book like it. It was a fast, easy read but it also made me think and then re-think about things that I had already read. There were parts that were sexy, romantic, sweet, hard, emotional, and mind bending. I liked the characters. The women had insecurities and issues, but they were also strong and determined. The male characters could be really sexy, caring, and sweet, although I did become annoyed with each of them at times. Each couple's story was different and they had their own set off problems. But once it was all said and done, the whole story did make sense and I accepted everything that happened. But it was full of twists and turns along the way.

Thanks to Lisa Harley for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review. Will be posted atReviews by Tammy and Kim.

So have you ever started a book, said ooh, this is really good, I think I know where it’s headed and then BAM it takes a completely unexpected turn into an even better place? Well this is what Four Letters by Lisa Harley did to me and let me tell you I LOVED IT!
There is so much I want to say about this book and it’s awesomeness but I do not want to give ANYTHING away. This is a story that needs to tell itself; you do not want anyone to give you a clue as to what it’s about or where it will lead. The less you know going in, the better.
Lisa Harley has done an amazing job creating characters we can really fall for and want to get to know better. I felt such emotion for each of them, in different ways. Skye, Lilly and Adlee are three women who have their own issues and hardships and manage to overcome obstacles to find true happiness. Or so they think. I shed a lot of tears while reading this book, and to me that is a tribute to the author’s wonderful writing style. I also could feel their happiness and contentment as they found what they were looking for in life, and I was glad that I could be with them throughout their journeys.
And the guys were hot too! Sterling Smith swept Skye off her feet, Asher Brown knew just how to make Lilly’s life complete and Tanner Jones was able to put Adlee’s life back together and show her there are reasons to smile. There are some HOT panty-melting scenes in this book so be warned!
Perhaps the biggest emotion of all that I felt throughout the entire book was a feeling of surprise and shock. This story is different, but I mean that in the most positive way. There were times while I was reading that I just sat back on my couch and said WOW, didn’t see that coming! Especially the ending which I did not see coming. I will leave it at that, I do not want to spoil your own reading experience by saying too much.
I cannot say enough good things about this book! I absolutely love it and cannot wait for more people to enjoy it as much as I have. Four Letters is definitely up there with my favorites of 2013!

Lisa what have you done to me? This book is just a complete unexpected treasure. After reading the synopsis for this book I was intrigued. I was thinking oh yes I get to follow three hot couples, how could you go wrong? So I one-clicked. Well let me tell you, you get way more than that. You will meet Skye. She’s a no-nonsense chick who takes nothing from no one. She is quickly brought to her knees when she meets Sterling Smith. Their relationship is fast and furious. They hit some bumps along the way but who doesn’t right? We are then introduced to Lilly. She’s a sweet soul with a dream of the white picket fence, kids and Mr. Right. In comes Asher who is her dream come true. She has the house the kids and Mr. Right. We are then introduced to Adlee; her story is the hardest to bear. She’s a lost broken girl until she meets her savior Tanner Jones. He spends his time healing her and getting her to a safe place. She’s finally ready to be happy and get the love she deserves. Her past is creeping up on her unknown to her. Everything is going great and she is in a happy place. But nothing is what it seems.

You will not like Sterling much at all in the end. You will absolutely loathe Asher for what he has done. You will hold a special place in your heart for Tanner but still be angry at him. In the end things will be explained and reasons told. That’s all I can say without spoiling the best part of the book.

I started this book thinking …” Wow, this one sounds like a nice collection of romantic shorts stories,” but boy was I wrong about this one. I was definitely wow’d and thought it was very outstanding. Undeniably something like I’ve never read before. It had so many twists and turns and I’m normally great at predictions but I never saw that one coming.

Each story was intriguing in its own way - a different man, a different woman each with their own separate courtship, setting and exclusive situation. I thought the character building in each segment was remarkable, the chemistry and passion with each couple was exquisite. These “men” had some skills and they were all magnificent.

I usually balk at these types of situations in my book choices but the author did this one right. Somehow she manipulated these stories that could have caused so much misery with everyone involved but instead made it to where everyone got their happy ending.

I have never read anything from this author and I have to tell you after this impressive read she unquestionably gained a new fan.

All I have to say is… one-click this one and be prepared to be amazed.

Wow.. Ok.. This ain't your typical HEA! It's an easy read, but forewarning you will want STRANGLE the guys! I don't know how I feel... It was a roller coaster and definitely not a story I have ever read! The plot twists well at the end and I get the reasons behind everything, but I don't know what to feel... It's kind of like the story.. My emotions are all twirled around.. Great story Lisa... Very unusual and new!

Wait and f'ing minute!!... This us all starting to click together. No, I DID NOT say " make any sense", but starting to come together.

A full on mind blowing story!! In the beginning it was annoying to get to the end of one story, only to start a totally different one, but in the end it delivered. I loved the ending most of all!! For all the wrongs, Daniel made so many rights! A definite must read!!

Completely different refreshing read, really enjoyed it, the three stories about Skye, Lily and Adlee are wonderful and the unique way that are tied together is told really well, I thought the the ending and epilogue was perfect it wrapped up everything nicely. I'm definitely going to have a look at this authors other books.

Four letters

I liked this story, it was original and different. I think i would have stayed in the dark longer about Daniel if the book had been more intertwined, like one chapter from skye and sterling, then one with lilly and asher, then one with Adlee and Tanner,,ect. As it is i knew very quickly what was happening which made it a bit less interesting, losing the shock factor. That being said it was a good read

Ugh, I seem to be in a drought of books I'd love. Sure, I read one that I loved, but after that, all I read were mediocre. Then I thought Four Letters might be what I need to get back on my great books. The reviews were promising, the blurb was intriguing, but the whole thing just left me all over the place.

If I were to rate this based on how the stories were, I'd give it more stars. Sterling & Skye were adorable; the whole control thing that makes it more exhilarating, and the chemistry between them. Maybe it was because they were the first couple introduced, so I had a certain loyalty to them, but I'd like to think it's more than that. Asher & Lille were nice, but I didn't really invest time to them as I did with the first one. Now, Tanner & Adlee were in tight competition with Sterling & Skye. If the first one's story was endearing and heated, this one is full of redemption and tenderness. Overall, 2 out of 3 stories made me happy. Surely, it deserves more than the star I gave...

As a book, it was well-written by the author because you wonder how they all add up, and how things will end up. But I must say under this circumstance, the anticipation was much more than the event itself.

Of course, no story of such would be without any turmoil. Sure, the setbacks between each couple were getting a bit more dragging than intriguing, so my interest was already decreasing. As I continue with the story, and figure out how things are, I get more pissed off, than thrilled.

Separately, that is the case, but this story is interconnected in ways few people would anticipate. I admit that my initial guess was wrong, and my next guess was something I didn't wish would be proven right. As a whole, the story is just a farce!

Rant ahead:

Sure, the sentiment was rather nice, but after all the pain it caused? Would those letters take back anything? Nope, didn't think so...

Four Letters (click on book or see below for description)
By Lisa M. Harley
Released 12/9/13
Downloaded free from Amazon on 8/3/14

Rating: 2 bones

Finish Time: 3 nights. Page turner this was, quality read this was not. And also not my typical kind of read, I couldn’t see the cover on my Kindle Paperwhite. Not that I have to stick to one genre, but this is not my type of read. Needless to say, I will still review and although it did hold my interest, I felt the story was overshadowed with sex and just lacked any depth. Maybe that was intentional, but did not make for a book that I would recommend to others.

It did rope me in. Set up a little different from what I expected, the book was separated into a few different sections. I figured like a lot of books, it would go back and forth between different stories, but this one told each story up till a point and left of eluding to a letter. I shortly realized said letters would not be revealed until the very end with an additional follow-up story. And for me, this story was way to predictable, I had it figured out pretty quickly. Well not the content of the letters, but what was going on. The stories all lead up to a certain event that was not entirely predictable but still not as dramatic as the build-up promised.

I honestly don’t want to get into more of the story lines or characters at risk of spoiling the story, the summary does that. Let’s just say the three stories cover romance, lust, passion, family, fear, and a whole range of emotions. As the reader, I found myself angry, frustrated, and somewhat feeling for the characters, but not too much. I’ll hold off saying what I really wanted to do to the characters as it may spoil some things too.

Again, I hate to judge a book by its cover, and I’m really not doing that here, as I did read the book, but had I seen the cover in color, I would not have chosen this book. And my dislike of the book is probably more personal, but hey – isn’t that what a review is for! If you don’t mind some graphic scenes, this book will have you frantically turning pages, but may leave you wanting more.

Lisa Harley really out did herself with this one. Four Letters is a really fantastic read. The concept is really different and it's so fresh from what is out there. It's like nothing I've ever read before. It pulls you in and keeps you there, guessing and wondering what is going to happen next.

Skye-is a spoiled rich brat. She doesn't come from a very loving home but she comes from money and lots of it. She knows that she is not living the life of a normal child but she doesn't care. What she knows, she loves and she wouldn't change it for the world. Her passion for art started at a very young age and when it was time to open up her own gallery, her dear ol dad was there to fund it for her. She has vowed that she will not have anyone have control over her. She doesn't want to turn into her mother and do whatever her husband tells her to do. She must have control in life and she does until she meets Sterling Smith.

Lilly-is a kindergarden teacher who wishes for a family of her own. One day while sitting underneath a tree at a park that she has dubbed Lilly's Park, she notices her Mystery Man jogging. Weeks go by and while she is at her park again due to some issues with her apartment complex, her MM approaches her and asks her out for dinner. They go on their date later that night and things take off from there. She finds happiness and joy with her Mr. Right, with Asher Brown.

Adlee-is a young girl whose life has not been an easy one, especially when her step-dad loses his job and starts drinking heavily. As things spiral downwards for her mom and step-dad with them constantly drinking and fighting all the time, things spiral out of control for Adlee one horrible night. She always thought that her life would be nothing. She never once thought that her life would change for the better until she waited on Tanner Jones.

Holy Hell. Wow. that one will leave you stunned for a while. This is one heck of a roller coaster of a book. You see some stuff coming, others not so much. your mouth will drop open, and you will want to punch someone.

This book is told mainly in the POV of the females, Adlee, Lily and Skye. This will in turn make you want to just hold them, cry for them, and hate men altogether. In my eyes, this "man" is a poor excuse for one. He swore he'd never become his father, but he does.

And this line - Love is a slimy bastard that hits you like a ton of f***ing bricks and then says, "How'd you like that? Now what are you gonna do about it?" is no excuse.

you have 3 very different women:

Skye who is a total spoiled rich brat, who always gets her way, until it comes to Sterling. He has to be in control, and she eventually gives some to him.

Lily, who is a sweet and down to earth teacher. she wants nothing more than kids, family, the whole white picket fence deal. and to an extent, Asher gives that to her.

last but not least, there's Adlee. she is broken, abused and all out disgusted with herself. Tanner swoops in to save the day and gets her all away from it.

There was a lot of steaminess going on, sex galore. I mean come on, 3 couples, there's going to be sex had.

But the question of all this is what do all these people have i common? are they friends, how are they tied together. about halfway through Asher and Lily's story I began to see what was going on, and boy was I PISSED! I still am as a matter of fact.

haven't read a story like this, especially not one that had me feelings so many different feels. anger, hate, heartbreak, grief, i could go on. but i won't. this is just a book that you will have to read and won't be able to put down until the last page. I did skip over a few parts, as it seemed the same in a couple of spots.

Ugh, this book!!! bad men, bad!

4.5 stars. as i felt there was too much in some places, and not enough in others.

WOW! WOW! WOW!

I suggest you STOP whatever you are reading and start Four Letters by Lisa Harley.

The concept of this story is like no other that I have ever read. I was pulled in from the first page and did not stop till I was done.

Three incredible Hot Sexy Men. Sterling, Ash, and Tanner. Each man you will love in a different way. Hottest man for me was Sterling, the most compassionate man was Tanner. I loved Asher too but differently.

Each woman Skye, Lilly, Adlee and even his best friend Becca is amazing and beautiful in her own way. You all know by now how much I need to connect to characters in books. I am not kidding you when I say you will be invested body and soul to every one of them. The supporting characters are also locked into my heart now too. I warn you though you will have a ton of emotions to go through from anger to love and everything in between.

I have the hardest time reviewing a book that I absolutely love so much because I want to tell you everything. I want to express so hard to you how amazing it was and how much I want you to read it. Think of one of the best books you read and it is right there, probably even better. Too many details would give away too much but I hope this intrigues you enough to scroll down and click immediately.

Once you read it please come back to the blog and comment, I would love to hear what you have to say. We have a rating scale here and 10 is the highest number we can give but if I could I would actually rate each category to 100.

If you have read Lisa Harley’s other books, Destined to Change and Destined to Succeed, and loved them, get ready for her to knock your socks off again.

Lisa is truly talented with an amazing imagination. She brings us stories with content we love to read but spins it in a new and refreshing way. Indie authors are the best, and when you meet a new one that is this talented it is like a present that you get to unwrap with each new story they tell.

Lisa what have you done to me? This book is just a complete unexpected treasure. After reading the synopsis for this book I was intrigued. I was thinking oh yes I get to follow three hot couples how could you go wrong so I one-clicked. Well let me tell you. You get way more than that. You will meet Skye she's a no nonsense chick takes nothing from no one. She is quickly brought to knees when she meets Sterling Smith. There relationship is fast and furious and last 10 years. They hit some bumps along the way but who doesn't right . Every thing comes to a halt when she receives a letter "Sterling what have you done?" We are then introduced to Lily she's a sweet souls with a dream of the white picket fence, kids and Mr. Right. In comes Asher who his her dream come true. She has her dream the house the kids and Mr. Right. Everything comes to a halt when she receives a letter. Asher what have you done? We are then introduced to Adlee her story will be the hardest to bear. She's a lost broken girl until she meets her savior Tanner Jones. He's spend his time healing her and getting her to a safe place. She's finally ready to be happy and get the love she deserves. Her past is creeping up on her unknown to her. Everything is going great and she in a happy place. All that changes when she gets. A letter that will change it all. After the letter she knows exactly what Tanner has done. She couldn't be more grateful.

You will not like Sterling much at all in the end. You will absolutely loath Asher for what he has done. You will hold a special place on your heart for Tanner but still be angry at him. In the end thing will be explained and reasons told that's all I can say with out spoiling the best part of the book.

3 & 1/2 stars from Kota for Kota's Book Kollection

Well it is safe to say that Four Letters is not your run of the mill romance story. This book is written in three (well ultimately four) parts. Each part follows the relationships of Sterling and Skye, Asher and Lilly, and Tanner and Adlee.

What keeps you engrossed in this story is seeing how these characters are all intertwined.

All three couples come from different life experiences, fit in at different places in a social/class sense, and each touch your heart in their own endearing way.

This is my first time reading Lisa M Harley, and I like her style! This book is different, but has all the traits that we have grown to love in the romance genre, with twists thrown in for good measure. I can’t go into details about this story as that would mean spoilers, which makes it hard to give good context to this review.

Now I enjoyed this story, and the pages kept turning. Ms Harley writes engaging storylines with engaging characters…. But..

The complexities of these characters and their relationships made some of the later storylines seem to have been abbreviated rather than fully explored. While this didn’t ruin the story flow it did take away some of the authenticity of the connections for me.

The ultimate way in which the storyline finally comes together is one that you didn’t really see coming, but when it does – all of the pieces certainly fit!

I am sitting with a high 3 ½ heart rating for Four Letters. I think this story has a point of difference, and a creativity in its telling. It’s not perfect, but it is an engaging read nonetheless.

Such an amazing story. Even though each chapter of each couple is short Lisa does an amazing job in developing each character. You know each one intimately. You begin to fall in love with each character.

I will say that I did figure out what was going to happen early on, but that did not detour me from devouring this book. Skye, Lilly and Adlee all had something that make them slightly broken and vulnerable however meeting their "soul mate" made each one of them stronger. Each of the three stories take place in a chronological order. So as we move through each one of these couple's lives we learn that sometimes things happen in life to make you stronger and take you to the place where you are supposed to be, Sometimes 1 selfish act as a reason and then you can redeem yourself with one selfless act.

Each of the characters we meet end up being survivors in the truly unique storyline.

Lisa wrote a story a little different than her normal, but it works so well. I think the reason I loved this book so much is that it was different, not like any other book that is out there. Hearts are broken and lives are forever altered.

Just WTF...!!!

It was OK, I liked some parts of it, kind of understood Daniel but it still just pissed me off. This is a claissic Life Time movie and not sure romance is the right genre... I mean it clearly has romance but it's a sub category of romance - because it really is a sick version of romance.

While I am gratefuel to Daniel for how he truely saved Adlee I still am pissed. And he get's away with all of it...???!!! WTF...!!! He get's to have his happily ever after - no karama for his ass...!!!???
Come on - the deed to the house went from Daniel's name to the wives or for sure Adlee, no one put it together...??? And while I can see how as a woman you want happiness and when he is around they are happy, no one every really questioned it or him or what he was really up to...??? Skye had the means to hav ehim followed or follow him herslef and figure out but she didn't - was she really that self absorbed, is any woman really that self absorbed...???

I'm pissed and Becca can bite it!!! LOL

That was messed up...now don't think it is all messed up in a crazy, freaky kind of way but it is messed up. I have never bitten my nails like I did with this book. I had no idea that would be the reason for the four letters title. I'm so stunned I don't even know how to write a review. I don't want to give anything at all away. But I will say when you read the first story of sterling and Skye and then it goes into Asher and lily you finally click and dread fills you because you are frigging figuring it all out. OMG...never have I,loved someone but hated them so much. Sterling broke Skye, he broke me. Asher broke lily, he broke me. Tanner broke Adele, he broke me.
Regardless of the ending, regardless of the epiphany that was had or how they thought they helped give them something they were lacking in their lives and regardless if they find their true love I still want to junk punch and spit on sterling, tanner, Asher and Daniel. Ugh!!!!

Now regardless of the anger I have it was really a good story. It was heart pounding. Makes your adrenaline spike and so nervous.

4.5*

Well this book is definitely the most emotional whirlpool.

I expect three individual stories. I didn't not expect them to be intevined. and definitely not to this extreme

However after Skyes story ended I was WTF? surly it can't get there. But the next story started and then Lillys story ends the same way... and so does Adlees story.
I must admit the ending situation able the male characters did cross my mind. But I convinced myself nope it can't be that.

It's so hard not to hate Daniel for what he did. And no matter what. His end 'sacrifice' wasn't enough. He became his father and worse leaving his children in the situation he was in. leaving women he loved in his mother's place.
And he got happy ever after with Becca ?
seriously I don't know if I want to kill him myself or hug him for saving Adlee.
But then looking from a psychological point of view... He did what he knew... what was norm for him. But he needed help! not becca.
