This last year or two there seemed to grow a certain trend about romance books. I guess it started with the world-famous Fifty Shades of Grey. Writers started to write about alpha males, main characters with tortured past or with whatever brutal thing in life they could come up with and then they fixed it with 'epic, unbelievable' romance. They even got so far as to be so obvious with the CEOs or über-rich guy and a 'normal' girl..

I'm rambling now so I'll get to my point. Anyway, I've been reading that kind of books a lot these months that when I received How He Really Feels and started to read it, I was very surprised and immensely delighted!

This little fine gem turned out to be a beautiful, cute romance. It's JUST a romance. Plain and simple. It was a really nice change. I admit, I kept imagining and predicting a certain drama thing, complication or the usual twists that happened in most romance books, but they almost never came! There just one thing I predicted, but I enjoyed that element for a change - triangle.

Nick and Julianne are coworkers for already a year and after Julianne obsessing over him during that time, their relationship finally began to grow into something more. But there was a problem, Nick signed a contract saying he won't have a relationship with a coworker. But it didn't manage to stop the incredible connection and feelings they developed. The book describes how they work through the beginning and it was a touchy part, because as I said I expected complications but it actually went well for a good part of the book.

Can't forget the steamy scenes! Nick and Jules may be a little too cheesy couple; love was dripping from the pages, but they also melted them. Of course me, being in the Way Too Hot Books blog, loved that! Romance gets boring without some spice. ;)

The big thing in this book is Travis - Jules' best friend and an all-around good guy. He's in love with Jules and now with Nick in the picture, he finally decides to bring them to the surface. I actually found him a victim here, Jules made some very wrong and just idiotic decisions. But I liked her. We're all human and it would be a boring book without some mistakes and twists.

Nick on the other hand was kind of too good to be true. He's of course very handsome (I kept imagining him in the sexy suits, yumm!), smart, kind, caring and romantic man AND great in bed. See? Too good to be true. It's a good thing we women like our men perfect in the books. I loved him for sacrificing himself for Jules, realizing his mistake, I liked him for forgiving Jules, for his love that is bigger then anything. The ending was a beautiful touch, even thought the whole book went a little fast with their relationship.

description

I guess that if I read this book at I time when I wasn't so in the mood for a little cheesy romance I wouldn't have liked it so much, but now I really did.

If you like your romance nice, cute and a little fairytale-like with some good steam, this book is definitely for you! And plus, it's a great summer read and it's the perfect time to get it!

"Everything in my life was insignificant until I met you, and now you are all that matters."

Julianne Becker was in love. The only problem was, she was in love with her new boss, Nick Matthews. She basically swooned over him for a whole year before anything finally happened. I completely understood why she never gave up though. I mean this guy was 100% swoon worthy! But you see, there's a reason it took a year for things to heat up.

When Nick first got to the company, in his contract, there was a policy that forbid him from dating anyone from his department. But, unable to deny his feelings any longer, on New Year's Eve he decided to give it a go with Julianne. Quickly there after, they began what they called a 'secret relationship'.
"You are so incredibly beautiful"

"Julianne, it's only been you since the day I met you."

Since both their jobs were at risk, no one could know - not even Julianne's girlfriends from work. The only person, aside from family, that knew about Nick was Travis - Julianne's ex-boyfriend and now best friend. BUT, there was something Julianne did NOT know...
"... I see the way he looks at you, Julianne. It's the same way I look at you." -Nick

This little situation caused me to feel angry with Julianne and heartbroken for Travis. The way she handled things was just beyond aggravating. About half way through the book, something happens (total WTF moment) which leads Julianne to do something that completely pissed me off. Noooo, there's no cheating or anything, but still, I think she could've handled things differently.

Without giving anything away, I'll just say that Julianne and Nick's relationship gets tested a lot. Just when things were going smoothly, BAM, something happened. Quite the ups and downs. But don't worry, everything comes together towards the end and I have to say, I loved the ending!! I finished reading with a smile across my face.

"How He Really Feels" is a sweet and sexy read you should definitely check out.
There's another book coming out - "What He Really Feels" and it's Travis' journey to his HEA, which I really hope he gets.
"... I can't wait to begin forever with you."

"The way I felt when he held me in his arms, when he kissed me, when he made love to me... It felt like he was my other half, like I wasn't whole until he was there, too. He was my sould mate; the one person put on this earth specifically for me to find."

This is a story about believing and dreaming.
The story about a beautiful and hard working woman, that dreams with what she thinks it's impossible, but what she can't stop dreaming.
The story about a gorgeous and kind man that wants the impossible, but is afraid.
You'll find hope, dreams, dedication, believe, and most of all... LOVE!

Her writing is perfect, addictive and emotionally superb.
That's why she's one of my favourite authors... because it's like she always knows what I need, when I need and how I need! IT'S AMAZING!

A truly romantic romance story. No over the top dramatics. No wondering when the other shoe will drop and no typical something or another twist ripping the lovebirds apart only for them to reunite again after suffering much heartache and pain, usually self inflicted.

I've read so many of "those" that this story line was truly a breath of fresh air. Just a sweet romance.

Not to say there weren't any twists, there definitely was, namely a love triangle. I am not a fan of those. No author has yet been able to make me believe in the "triangle". I have always looked upon them as the protagonist causing the triangle as selfish and self serving. Not in the case of Julianne though. She was just a woman making bad choices and a bit oblivious to the fact that her best friend was in love with her. And they did have a relationship at one time but it has long been over, but apparently not for Travis. Though, Travis did take a bit of advantage too.

These "faults" made her a real person to me. And we've all done that. Assuming, not paying attention to nuances, or not really listening to someone. All the characters were faulted, including the perfect Nick, who I adored.

I digress and am jumping around a bit. But only because the story thrilled me so much to actually be a pure romance story that the typical cliches that normally irritate me with contemp rom, didn't this time!!

So why do I love this story and why did I award 5 stars your wondering?

I loved the story because it was a romantic story. Just pure romance.

Julianne and Nick have been crushing on each other for a year. When they finally do get together, it is just pure sweetness ans they are both very honest with each other. And even though they have to keep their relationship quiet, Nick is Julianne's boss, they are still willing to try. Even with Travis right in the middle of it, and Julianne making some silly mistakes, the story was very endearing overall.

Gave me all the feels and smiles.

Really good ending for Julianne and Nick, lovely romance. The author continues the story with book 2, How He Really Feels, which will be Travis' story. Should be very interesting to know his thoughts as well as his future plans.

So yes my friends, a definite must read for those of you looking for a sweet romance without the usual shoe dropping cliches.

He leaned over and passionately shoved all of the papers, files, and books on top of his desk onto the floor. God, if that wasn’t the sexiest cliché I had ever lived through.

See? There IS a reason the boss doesn’t want fraternization in the work place – it totally messes with desk organization… Oh yeah! AND focus… TOTALLY messes with employee focus.

HOW HE REALLY FEELS is sweet and sexy and an absolute must read if you are into contemporary romance.

Juliana is a dreamer, or at least that is what she thought. When it comes to her oh-so-sexy boss, Nick, she is convinced that she will be forced to fantasize about the man for the rest of her life. Despite the obvious chemistry between the pair, they have, to her dismay remained “just friends” for the entire year they have worked together. When her fantasy becomes reality, she isn’t sure if their kiss was just something she conjured up in her very active imagination or if it actually happened!

Nick… Oh! How I love him! Even when I wasn’t entirely pleased with him, I still loved him, but to be fair, there were times I wanted to shake Juliana too – that’s what keeps it interesting!

Nick & Juliana’s relationship is far from perfect and that is what I loved about it! HOW HE REALLY FEELS takes the characters and reader on a roller coaster that will keep you guessing until the very end. Contemporary Romance fans, snatch this one up for some great guaranteed entertainment!

2.5 Stars!

So after finishing a series I was left in a book funk and to try get out of it I picked this book up thinking I needed something sweet and straight forward which yes this kind of was but there were too many points where it didn't work for me. I've had this sitting in my kindle app for ages and after seeing some 5 star reviews maybe I expected too much?

"Everything in my life was insignificant until I met you, and now you are all that matters."

I thought this would be a little more alpha male book with more story I guess. As I was reading I felt like the main characters did have chemistry and that was all good yet it went so quickly the relationship even though they had known each other for a year we didn't get to know much about that year or about Nick as a person. I didn't feel like it had that gradual building up of character or personality that I as a reader fall for. I didn't feel connected to him which was a real shame.

Julianne Becker the heroine did some stupid things that really annoyed me and at one point I was going to stop reading it all together. Her friend? He just pissed me off. That's all I have to say about him to be honest. I felt she was way too obsessed with this boss but hey I guess it can happen *shrugs* I don't think this was a book fr me or it may just have been the mood I was in at the time but don't let me opinions keep you from reading this may be a book you end up enjoying!

I got this book to write an honest review so here it is. This review may have SPOILERS, so you've been warned!

Julianne Becker has laid her eyes on her boss, Nick Matthews, since the first day he got his job at McMillan. She swooned over him for the past last year, but desides to take fate into her own hands, starting with the new year. Seems like her handsome boss thinks the same way. After New Year the start a secret affair, because of some stupid agreement Nick had to sign in roder to work at McMillan. Will this secret relationship work out?

I loved this book from the first sentence. I had mixed feelings about if I wanted to read it or not. That's meant positive and here's why: I didn't want to read it because it would end too quickly and I did not want that to happen, but I also wanted to read it because I wanted to know how the relationship between Julianne and Nick would develope.

So lets start off with Nick Matthews. He is just some hot peace of ass. I wouldn't mind if he was my boss :$ But seriously, he just sounds too good to be true. He is really sweet and adorable to Julianne and is wiling to give up everything for her.

And then there is Travis Miller, a lifelong friend of Julianne who is in love with her. What I did not understand is why Travis did not tell sooner that he was in love with Julianne. I mean they had an on-going- off-goiing relationship in collge and if I remember correctly they both agreed to end the relationship. Anyway, I really felt sorry for Travis halfway the book. I mean in my opinion it was really stupid of him that he slept with Julianne while she was heartbroken over Nick, but that put aside, I also liked his character and didn't blame him for his decision at the end. I really hope he finds his own soulmate!

At the beginning of the story I really liked Julianne's character, but whilst reading further I kinda liked her less and less. I mean she should blame herself for the things that happend and not other people. And yeah she actually knew that it was her fault and maybe she is not completely to blame for the things she did, 'cause people often make stupid mistakes when they're in that state, but still, that's not a reason to be mad at someone else.

Anyway, that being said, I really liked the book a lot! The author's writing style is just amazing. I often find all the descriptions in a book irritating and really lengthy, but I did not mind it with this book. It read really easly and I enjoyed the book! :D

I know I'm being a bit cryptic with some parts in this review, but if you want to know what I mean, I suggest you grab a copy and read this awesome, sexy and romantic book!

I am looking forward to the next book!

I loved it! I love it and I will always and forever love this book! Can't wait to read more books from this author!
This book had everything that I love.... Anxiety, drama, love, heartbreak, sexy scenes, hot male and awesome female character :)
you know I love a romance which is forbidden and how they break the walls and fight the world and try to stay together. Wow..This book was so hot that I was breaking fast oh lord...Once I started this book I could stop.
Julianne and Nick work together. But Nick is her boss and Julianne had a crush on her boss. But any romance between Them was forbidden. What will happen when they give into their feeling , How will it effect others.
The way their Jules and Nick relationship progressed I fell more and more love with. I could feel their tension, their love, their need for each other, fighting, resisting, wanting. I was on the edge waiting and waiting like yes! yes! kiss her now ! make a move...and when it finally happened it was oh god romantic and **Sigh** HOT!!
Jules is awesome, realistic character and I loved her and Nick was sweet, hot and romantic. I was really happy to know That Nick too liked Jules and wanted them together forever!!
Sometimes in a book the characters sometimes lose their spark, their tension. But not in this book. There was spark, tension, love through out the book which I really liked!

My heart slammed into my ribs and then my eyes closed automatically as his lips brushed mine just once. Every nerve ending in my body was alight with electricity at our connection. He clutched me close against his chest in a quick embrace. “Happy New Year,” he murmured, his breath tickling close against my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

Yep, this is where the book took hold of me and wouldn't let me go. I mean how easy right? The simplicity of the situation. All it took was for Nick to go out of his way just to make sure he started the New Year off right, even when he put everything at stake just to do it. This is when I began to see this story in a different light.

This story starts out simple enough. There is Julianne, a pretty average woman who is in crush with the new boss, Nick Matthews. They get along great and work well together, she would jump at the chance to get to know Nick outside of work. The problem? There is a strict no fraternization rule. To top that off she doesn't even know if he likes her in that way. What does she do? Sits on the sidelines for a flippin' year pining after him. Then New Years happens, and that's when this story gets good.

“Every time I see you walking around the office, I want to take you into my arms, like this, and feel your body against mine,” he whispered, his chin brushing my cheek again.

I often wonder if people really think that what they do goes unnoticed. I work in a rather large place and I can honestly say on a daily basis I hear that this person is sleeping with that person. Is it the secrecy that revs the lust and passion? I also wonder is it necessary to get down and dirty in a bathroom? Why is that a fantasy? Do they not know how many germs linger in that place? Not that I'm a major germaphobe, just really? There is no public bathroom action in this story, but when ever I hear about people at work doing the deed, it's usually in a bathroom. Anyway, I'm getting off topic here, Julianne and Nick start their forbidden work affair. They do in fact do the smart thing and do their business at each other's place and occasionally in the office, bonus points for Nick and Julianne for having standards.

“I am not leaving until your tears are dry and I see a smile on your face."

Okay, so there is Julianne's best friend Travis, you know the guy always there willing to lend a hand or shoulder. Yeah, you know where that relationship is going. I loved Nick in this story, believe me, but I really saw him as someone I would consider a brother or good friend. Now Travis, that is more my style. He just seems to be hiding something, like he holds all the secrets to giving a woman everything she's asking for. Lisa Suzanne really made him stand out for me, I'm not sure if that was intentional or if I just was seeing him as more of my type of guy. What happens between him and Julianne, isn't for me to say, your just going to have to buy the book and find out.

At one point in the book Julianne gets the rug swept out from under her. She is left to make choices, some of which, seriously I wanted to strangle her for. When I really look at the situation now, I can see why she made the choice she did. I'm sure anyone else in that situation would have done the same thing. We are human after all.

This story had a lot going on and Lisa Suzanne was able to maintain the story very well. There was no confusion and the ending left me with questions that I am praying get answered! You know what I am talking about if you have read this. This author has an excellent way of using dialogue between the characters. There are some books I read and I wonder if they ever have conversation aside from the moans and groans they make in the bedroom. I like a book that develops the characters relationship. I like it to tell me how the characters developed passion for each other. I cannot wait for Lisa Suzanne's next book 'What He Really Feels'. I need answers and maybe this next one will give it to me.

I am a sucker for a novel involving an office romance, make it a forbidden-SECRET-romance and I am all in! The synopsis for How He Really Feels sounded amazing and I couldn’t wait to start reading it.

How He Really Feels (which I totally love the title by the way) is about 20-something Julianne, who works in a marketing firm. Julianne has been in love with her boss Nick since he started working for the company. All of her co-workers/friends know of her “crush” on Nick but Julianne won’t make the move. Nick & Julianne have been working together for a year now and finally the two admit their feelings to one another. They begin a steamy relationship quickly but the problem? Their office romance is forbidden under the contract Nick signed and Julianne’s friend Travis might be more than just a friend.

I LOVED the first half of the book. I thought it was the perfect speed, had a great build-up between Nick & Julianne and the storyline was really interesting. I loved the conversations between the two as they were getting to know each other romantically and felt the story was realistic. At this point I enjoyed all the characters; Julianne has a fun group of friends around her including her best friend/ex-boyfriend/friends with benefits Travis.

About the half way point is when all the real drama begins. Nick & Julianne have to hide their romance from everyone because Nick cannot date anyone who is working under him. Nick makes a very reasonable decision in my opinion and it changes his relationship with Julianne. This is when I really started to dislike Julianne’s character. She played with other people’s emotions multiple times hurting someone she really cares about. She knew the right thing to do but she still did the wrong thing, I really was upset with her. The story changes and I felt their romance went from realistic to a bit over the top with the “I love you’s”. I was also disappointed in Travis’s storyline; he disappears with no closure for him. The last 20% of the book I kept waiting for something to happen with his character but it didn’t.

The first half of the book was excellent. It is a good story of an office romance, the author is a fantastic writer and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. I also loved the book was steamy without being too erotic. The love scenes were done very well. I read the book in one long sitting, it held my attention and I couldn’t put it down.

I give How He Really Feels 3 Stars.

**This review has been updated** Great makeover on the cover!

The first half of this book was great. You have your typical forbidden office romance... I'm in love with my boss but it's against office policy type thing. The sexual tension and build up to the impending romance was good. When Nick and Jules finally come together it was really steamy and the little sneaky moments they find together in the office were fun... I liked it. I loved the relationship Jules had with her long time best friend Travis. He is her rock. They've had a sort of "friends with benefits" thing off and on for most of their relationship.
Unfortunately, the story took a bit of a nose dive for me after the big "event" that takes place in which we go into the I have a broken heart phase. Jules does an unforgiveable act involving her best friend Travis. Nick also does something equally unforgiveable. And, these issues were never really resolved completely. I automatically fell out of love with these characters after these events. AND... what happens with Travis was a complete mess. I needed a Happily Ever After for him. I was unable to buy into the Happily Ever After for Jules and Nick because I felt so lousy at what had been done to Travis. Jules deserves to be miserable... not happy. That's how it made me feel. This book left me feeling a bit angry actually...
This is a debut novel for this author and it is well written. I think with a little more work on the story itself this book could be really good. But, as it stands it just felt unfinished with not enough closure.

I am giving this book more of a 3.5 but rounded up. I didn't like it I just found the heroine to be lacking. This is an office romance that involves Julianne and her new boss Nick Matthews. She has lusted after him since he started working and her infatuation only grows every day and they become friends. On New Years everything changes with one quick kiss at midnight. (This was so cute). Nick signed an agreement not to fraternize with his employees and he risks his job and hers if anyone finds out. Travis Miller is Julianne's best friend and also her first and sometimes friends with benefits. They haven't hook up in a while but come on he has feelings for her. When everything comes out in the open, Julianne failed. She was not a good friend for 90% of the book, and only talked to Travis when she needed him, to mostly feel better about herself. Nick was amazing and he saved the entire read for me, Perfect boyfriend. I see that Travis gets his own book next hopeful he gets his HEA.

I could not put this book down!

Nick and Julianne's Rollercoaster ride of life and love will have you holding your breath, cursing them out and begging for more. I laughed, I cried but most importantly, I could not put this book down. The tug a war of emotions that Julianne deals with is so spot on given the emotions that surround her heartache and despair. An unpleasant little love triangle causes her to question everything. Nick just steals not only Julianne's heart but mine as well. I loved him and his way of attacking life- full speed ahead, with confidence and control.

for great book reviews, new release updates, giveaways and more!!

Lisa Suzanne has done a fantastic job with her debut novel, How He Really Feels. Her writing style is engaging, entertaining and I loved the way the story line developed and progressed.

Julianne is a very likeable and realistic character. Infatuated with her sexy boss she crushes on him for almost a year without ever disclosing how she feels. Her internal dialogue and actions were just typical of a woman interested in someone but not sure how, or whether, to act on her feelings. The added complexity of a 'forbidden' workplace relationship added to the intensity of the affair between Nick and Julianne as they had to keep their feelings secret from those they worked with.

Nick is your perfect male character. Handsome, sexy, intelligent, loving ... he is open with Julianne and the two communicate in a really honest and refreshing way. The friendship they developed before embarking on a relationship had a lot to do with how they interacted with each other and for me, this added substance and credibility to their relationship. There were a lot of sex scenes between Nick and Julianne, they spent the majority of their time together having sex but there was enough 'substance' in their other interactions that this didn't seem over the top. In fact, I thought it was a very accurate representation of a 'new' relationship, particularly given the year of lead time before the two got together.

Julianne's best friend, Travis, is an interesting character. I'm really not sure how I felt about him and I'm really not sure whether I liked the contribution he made to the story. In part his role was to add a 'complication' to the relationship between Julianne and Nick, but for me it was a little bit contrived and I didn't necessarily buy what transpired between Julianne and Travis, particularly given their history.

Overall the pace of the story was good. I was engaged and keen to see what was going to happen with Julianne and Nick. Towards the end of the story there was a lot happening and a few times it did feel like the author was trying to wrap too much drama into the story. I think one or two of the events could have been left out and the story would still have had enough substance to engage the reader fully and lead to a satisfying conclusion.

I was absolutely rooting for Julianne and Nick - the progression of their friendship to a relationship was romantic and well paced. They were faced with a number of challenges and I thought their individual and collective reactions were realistic and believable. The conclusion was gorgeous and while this is book one in a trilogy, there isn't a cliff hanger - you get an ending worthy of the journey of the characters.

Book Two - What He Really Feels is due for release in early October 2013 - and it tells Travis' story. Given my ambivalence towards him in How He Really Feels I'm hoping reading things from his perspective will redeem him a little. And despite how I felt about Travis, I will pick up What He Really Feels as I loved Lisa Suzanne's writing style, character development and story construction.

Had you not told me this was your debut novel, I would never have known!!

Such a strong story line, with excellent conviction in writing. Just beautiful!

Now, Can I just start by saying this was a breath of fresh air!
A pure romance book, beautifully written, no stunning young millionaire CEO, no naive virgin, no D/s etc etc , just romance with a nice splash of hot and steamy spice, that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy!
Ahhhhh yes!!

( please don't misunderstand me, I LOVE those books, it was just a very welcome change )

Nick and Julianne are co-workers, Nick being the boss. When he started at the company he was forced to sign a strict ' no date ' policy.

Jules falls head over heals in lust with Nick after their first meeting, however she dose not act on this for obvious reasons.

We later find our he was in major lust the whole time too.

Fast forward one year.....

Jules is still in MAJOR lust with Nick, and things have been getting a little friendly between the two of late, when it all come to a head with a midnight kiss on New Year's Eve *sigh* perfect!!

"My heart slammed into my ribs and then my eyes closed automatically as his lips brushed mine just once. Every nerve ending in my body was alight with electricity at our connection. He clutched me close against his chest in a quick embrace. "Happy New Year," he murmured, his breath tickling close against my ear, sending shivers down my spine."

Well maybe not, as they are forced to hide their feelings for each other and in turn their budding relationship.

Nick is a strong lead male, caring, sweet, kind, romantic, loyal and TRUSTING, ever ready to to make you happy.

I will say this:
If you are not in the mood for a perfectly written cheesy romance, that will have you smiling all wonky, with your heart wanting to burst from pure joy, don't read this!! ;)

No don't listen to that, read it anyways!!

Julianne is a wonderful leading lady. Strong, self assured, smart, funny, confidant and well rounded. I also LOVE that she owned up to her mistakes! I did hate her for a few chapters in regards to Travis, but that is a huge credit to Lisa, to be able to make me go from LOVING this woman to HATING her and back again!!

Travis, my heart broke for this man!! I'm hopping that we see a lot more of him next time around. I think things could have been handled so much better on Jules behalf, but we needed a little angst right??

My only problem with Nick was the cabin ( you'll see what I mean)

"Of course it won't be the same Nick!" "You broke my heart. You shattered me. Out of nowhere. "

^ I was a blubbering mess!

There were some real lol moments too, I loved reading about all their little revaluations throughout like this from Nick;

"I started drinking coffee because I knew you went into the kitchen every morning to get a cup. And going to the kitchen meant that I would have a moment with you, just you, to talk with you, just to be with you. But I felt like an idiot going in there without a reason, so I started drinking coffee."
"And now I'm f**king addicted to caffeine!"

Over all I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and as such am more than happy to recommend!

This is my review of this book......Awwwwwwwwwwwww, slap, you bastard, grrrrrrrrrr awwwwwwwwwwww, no you didn't, don't do it, damn if she didn't do it, awwwwwwwwwwwww, sad, how sweet, grrrrrrrrr, no way, I be damned, he didn't just do that, yes he did, grrrrrrrrrrr,no way, that is bad, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww just to damn good. I am sure you are asking what in the world I am talking about. Sometimes when a book is so good and you get into to it, you talk to the characters at least I do. The above is what I felt, thought or talked with the characters in this book.

At first I thought this book was going to be his side, about his feeling and his thoughts. I was very surprised. this book gets your attention right from the get go. You will not want to put it down until you are finished. There are a lot of surprises, twist and turns, just when you think you know what is happening or going to happen damn if the author doesn't turn it around on you.

I couldn't decided if Nick was a player or not. Just when I thought he wasn't it looked as if he was. You will have to read to see if he is or isn't. My lips are sealed and I am not typing nothing. Julianne knows what she wants, but shy. Then she just said what the hell, go with the flow only to find the flow isn't a good choice. Travis ohhhhhhhh he broke my heart, I so wanted to grab him and hug him. A little to much a little to late or was it?

The author makes each character sweet and loving and then you aren't to crazy about any of them but at the same time you just love them and feel sorry for each one. I feel each character are strong people but has their weakness, each are finding their own way.

You have a love triangle and just not sure how it will work out until the end. I kept expecting something else to go wrong and I do feel this is how the author wanted you to feel. Just when you think nothing can't go wrong something does. Just when you think it can't get worse it does. But this is real life! I find this book to be believable and could be anyone's life. This book shows why it isn't a good reason to have an office romance, I think at least 90 % of them do not work but sometimes just sometimes they do. Not going to tell you if they do in this book or not. You will have to read to find out.

I found this book to be a delight! Wonderful written, wonderful characters that you will love and enjoy. I would enjoy reading and reviewing the next book and another I see this author has written. If they are as good as this book you will not go wrong with this author.

This is my true and honest review on a wonderful book and an author I look forward to reading more of her work. Ms. Suzanne I hope you feel honored I do not give many 5 stars. Thank you for not only entertaining me but for giving me a few smiles. It truly is an outstanding read.

Though I had seen a few reviews about this book through blogs I follow, I was a little on the fence about getting it because it is not my normal genre...however, I won a copy in a giveaway and couldn't wait to jump in for something a little out of my norm and I am soooooo glad I did!

Julianne is a typical 26-year-old woman with a career, good family relationships, and good friends who is living life and having fun doing it...until she meets Nick, her new boss. From the moment she sets eyes on him for the first time she is lost to the feelings that overtake her in his presence. Determined to not make a fool of herself she makes every effort to get to know him and, after a year of pining for him, and considering herself to be in what she believes is the "friend" zone he surprises her on New Years with a kiss. That single kiss starts them on a fast and furious affair that they have to keep secret to keep their jobs. Add in a best friend who wants to be oh so much more and stupid decisions...let the love triangle take form!

I absolutely loved Julianne and related with her, for the most part, as to how she viewed situations and rationalized behavior. At times she was a complete idiot, she made mistakes and was selfish but followed her heart.

Nick was swoon worthy for sure...almost too good to be true. He was consistently sweet, honest, affectionate, and romantic. Forgiving Julianne of her mistakes, realizing the mistakes he made and owning up to them...ahhh. The chemistry between Nick and Jules was undeniable and magnetic from the start...wow is all I am saying there! Seeing their relationship develop, quickly, while dealing with the obstacles that were thrown at them had me on an emotional roller-coaster. My teenage daughter actually was laughing at me while I was shouting and gasping at the stupidity displayed by a particular character...you will know it when you read it...I was so mad! I can say I was a little disappointed there was not more interaction from Travis, Julianne's best friend, especially after what she put him through. However, I could also see how his story could be spun off in another book...which it is in the next installment to the series...yay me!!

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend to anyone wanting a sweet yet steamy contemporary romance. Lisa Suzanne's writing style is clear and easy to follow. I devoured this book in an afternoon! The characters were believable and easy to connect with. The story line was not your typical billionaire and waitress fairy tale, It was an honest tale about love in the workplace, the complications of such relationships, being true to your feelings and appreciating what life has to offer you because you could loose it in an instant.

This book is romance 100%! It might not be romance the way some see it but to me, it screamed it.

Julianne is a beautiful young woman. She has a great job. Wonderful friends. (Travis) and Nick is her new boss. He is gorgeous. Smart. Funny. But... he is her new "boss". Poor Julianne!

Well she can admire from afar, right? Just because she finds him to be perfect - does not mean she will act. He is her boss. No dating the boss!

Time travel ahead...

Her attraction has not changed. One fateful New Year's Eve and one kiss is all it takes.

So do they break the rules? Can you be in a relationship when you have to hide?

I loved Nick and hated him at times.
I felt the same about Julianne.
I was so back and forth for a while with both them. I wanted to shake them at times, and that for me is a good thing. I was invested in the two of them completely. I was so caught up in their story.

Nick has tons of sex appeal and romantic - oh boy! Julianne was strong and loving. She does not back down and owns up to her short comings.

Now let's talk Travis. I loved him - even though certain things he did. He knew better. He did. I am sorry .. However I could not help but love him regardless. I wanted to kick some booty for him, bring him home and love him. Do not judge. Read it, bet you will want a Travis too.

This book is just sweet enough, sexy enough and had just the right amount of 'WTF- are you kidding me momennts' to make me do a happy dance. I really enjoyed it.

Impressive first book and I'm a fan! Starting book two .. Now! ❤

How many of us have dreamed about that one guy? You know the one that you just have to have. Well Julianne has been dreaming of Nick since the day she laid eyes on him. The only problem is, he's her boss. She makes every excuse to be near him, or to look at him. After a year of pining away and wishing that he'd feel the same way one night it all changes. Julianne and Nick end up in a whirl wind love that we all want. He is the perfect guy for her, but what happens when it all comes crashing down. I had a feeling the whole time that Nick just wasn't right, that he was hiding something but I stilled cheered for them to be together. When he breaks Julianne's heart her best friend Travis comes to the rescue, so I thought. But in my heart I knew Julianne belonged to Nick. I don't think Travis really loves her the way he believes. I think he's just so used to the fact that she is or is suppose to be the one. I felt so sad for Julianne, how do pick up the pieces and move on when the one man, the perfect man tells you he doesn't love you? I just wanted to smack him upside the head. When the truth finally comes out I was relieved that Nick really wasn't up to no good, that in fact he's never taken his eyes or mind off Julianne in that whole year she'd been dreaming of him. I hope they can make their love last because they are so perfect for one another. And I'm so sad for Travis that he can't have his happily ever after, I only hope that he'll get his eventually. I loved this story and can't wait to read the next book!! Great job Lisa Suzanne!!

This was by far a really great Romance/ Love story, has not been like the others, I couldn't stop even when my eyes were heavy for sleep I just couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed that it was different then fifty shades and crossfire series it take a hole different pace and path.

I liked how their was too hott guys wanting the same thing and that it took forever to come right out and say it. The ending was different the hole Tragic thing I was expecting it for like have the book I just kept getting this feeling then bam it hit. The romance that Nick showed in this story was great he really showed his love for Julianne. Of course in every romance novel their has to be the one person to get into the middle of it and it had to be the company's boss sucked that Nick lost his job but in the end he ended up with something greater.

All the characters are strong willed people in the story which was great they each knew deep down what they wanted, they just had to act on that. Which became the difficult part due to the secret that Julianne had to keep from her friends at work about Nick, him being the boos man and all. That kinda broke my heart that she couldn't tell anyone:( but in the long run the ending was prefect hell the hole story was great!! Was well written :) This was a great weekend Romance Novel that will want you wanting more I know I do!! Now I'm in hopes that their is a second story to Julianne and Nick's love story!!!

Julianne Becker is head over heels in love. Only problem.. He is her new boss. When she first sees Nick Matthews in the conference room at her office, the instant sparks hit her light a bolt of lightening. For over a year she hid her crush about him, only confiding in her best friend Travis and 2 office girlfriends.

Until the day when Nick finally makes a move and confesses his feelings about her. Admitting that he has done everything possible to make excuses everyday as to why they needed to complete projects together, or take an office lunch. The only thing stopping him for months was the interoffice relationship clause that he has signed upon accepting his position.

Not being able to stay away from each other any longer, they began their secret relationship. Jules again confided in her best friend Trav, although he began to withdraw from her, acting strange when she professed her love for Nick… When their relationship leaks to Nicks boss, all hell breaks loose between them, their jobs, their friendships…

I absolutely LOVE this novel. I was immediately drawn into the story line, the characters, the love for each other. Lisa Suzanne reaches the readers in a way that makes you unable to put the book down until it is finished. Love this series!!

Why I chose this book?

I saw a message where the author was asking for reviews and I thought it would be a book that both me and my followers would like.

What I liked about this book.

* The right amount of angst.
* The characters were easy to connect with.
* Although there is another book there is no cliffhanger.

What I didn't like about this book.

* Some parts of the story were alittle boring for me, not enough to ruin the story.
* The main heroine did annoy me slightly, sometimes she seemed alittle immature and she was talking about her feeling being ignored when she was ignoring his feelings. (will make sense when you read the book)

Would I read more from this author?

Yes I'm going to read the next one in the set.

Would I recommend this book?

Yes. To anyone who loves the good old fashion love stories.

I don't usually read too much Contemporary Romance but I received the ARC free for an honest review! That being said, I loved it!

This book was so sweet in it's romance that it was refreshing for me! I could totally relate to the main character Julianne Becker. She had been in love with her new boss Nick for a year without telling him. She just obsessed about him every day! Nick, however, had signed a contract with the company not to date a coworker. It made a very interesting read!

My emotions went up and down the whole book. I could feel the sparks between Julianne and Nick through the pages of the book but I also fell in love with Julianne's best friend Travis who, in turn, loved her! It was a big conflict for me! In the end, I decided for Nick because let's face it, when push comes to shove, the sparks win!

Lisa Suzanne wrote a great, emotional book! It was a beautiful read that I couldn't put down because I had to know what happened in the end! I loved the humor, twists, conflict, sparks, tears, and the love that I experienced through the book. I would recommend this to anyone!

I really enjoyed this book! it wasn't what I would normaly read but I loved the romance and the heat that it had.

Julianne Becker is deeply and crazily in love with her new boss Nick Matthews although she knows that he prob wouldn't think of her that way. She spends every min thinking about him and about ways for them to do things together at work just so she can spend as much time in his presence as possible. After a year of working together Julianne thinks that she will be forever thought of as a friend until New Years Eve and an romantic unexpected Kiss!

When Julianne finds out that Nick might feel the same way about her, her whole like changes over night and she never thought it could be better then this! until someone at work finds out about their relationship and now their jobs and their love is on the line. Will Nick break her heart to keep their jobs safe?

this was a increadable book! I really enjoyed Lisa's writing she is wonderful story teller! you could feel the love and heartbreak on every page!

**I recieved this book in exchange of a honest review from the Paranormal, Fantasy, Dystopia and Romance Writers and Reviewers group**

Wow, what a hot and sexy office romance. I could not put this book down. I think I read this in one day. It really kept me on the edge of my seat. The realationship between Juianne and Nick...just hot. I almost cried when he broke up with her. The author has done a really good job with this book. The new years eve sceen was so romantic, it was perfect. I thought it was so awesome that Nick gave up something important to be with the love of his life. It is a book for those die heart romance fans like me. Keep up the great work!!! Five stars to this amazing book.

What a good book I could not put it down finished in 2 days. A great love story with just the right romance, angst, and hot sex. Julianne and Nick are coworkers and she is secretly pining over him for a year. New Years rolls around and she is left with no midnight kiss until Nick taps her shoulder kisses her and leaves. Then a hot and amazingly sweet aecret affair starts since its against work policy. All is great until Nick breaks her heart and her best friend Travis claims hes in love with her. Wont give more away but I love Travis and Nick! Must read to see what happens with this love triangle.

Messy

This is written in first person past tense in the heroine's point of view.

I was disappointed. The heroine gushes about her instant crush, melts when he speaks to her, and is overcome when he confesses to her. The emotions are expressed in a very YA way even though these are successful adults. The 'I love you's were used so liberally it felt shallow. The love triangle made me like this even less.

Maybe I just need to read something other than contemporary romance.

I really enjoyed this book. I love a good ole romance. I fell in love with .,Julianna and Nick. I felt they had some NORMAL issues that couples face. Like a No dating employees and the jealously of the best friend. I couldn't put it down. I was sucked in from the beginning. I hated to see it end. I hope they make appearance in What He Really Feels.

I think Lisa did a wonderful job writing this book.
