Its exactly what female authors of Pakistan don't write...
An incredible novel, full of suspense and thrill !!!
It kept me hooked on and anticipating for whats coming next. The story is set in past, before partition of subcontinent. Writer magnificantly pictured the scenario as if we are looking into past with our own eyes.
The characters Badar Ghazan, Zahra and Maya make you fall in love with their love trio. I pronounce Maya as the leading lady of the novel. She can't be loved amd she can't be hated. Yet she made others do what she desires......
I've read almost all collections of Nemrah Ahmed. This book is on my to-be-read list for a long time. And I eventually completed it in one sitting.
Beli Rajputan is the name of the village and the story is about the Queen of that village “Maya Fernandez”.
The story starts with Maya coming to Beli Rajputan from Amritsar and finds out that his husband Shikar died in a fire that erupted in the drawing-room of their house. And when Maya is back he came to know that his husband's cremation affairs are already completed. Maya senses something is fishy in his husband's death.
Maya came to know about the legend of Beli's ghost. A legend is common among Beli rajputan's dwellers that in an old Muslim graveyard there is a ghost who is digging in the graveyard. Maya was sure that this is a ridiculous belief.
A man Badar Ghazan is a very famous archer in Beli Rajputan. He is very well known in his village. Zohra, his cousin is deeply in love with him but Badar falls for Maya Fernandez.
Badar and Maya together finding out Shikar's death mystery and that so-called ghost in the graveyard. Because only Maya and Badar believe that it is human that is impersonating like a ghost.
Although the story is quite fast-paced and thrilling; I find it a little bit alike with Taliyah's tenure as Shezadi Taasha.
Such a great write it was! The story, the characters, the suspense—the twists were so well-written they had me smiling in awe every single time. Being Urdu readers, we always want that happy, lovey-dovey ending, but this was so unexpected, but in such a nice way. I really liked it. ✨✨
Loved it and such a good intisaab.we all need to be less judgemental for real otherwise we won't be able to love people .not everything is black and white✨
Spoiler alert: This novel is traumatizing 😔😔😔. I loved it ,despite the emotional wreckage, bcz of the PLOT and TWISTS which kept me engaged till end but still not gonna recommend to anyone😔😔😔.
Follow me on Instagram for reviews @humayunayoub
I feel like I devoured the book for its ending. What I expected to be a modest tale turned out to have a killer-ending (as I call it). Badar (Charming, handsome and whatnot) turns out to be served by the unmatched actress of London Maya/Mehreen. An unexpected end which turned my feelings for the novel to a different scale. Zehra, a very typical village girl who's beautiful, immature, engaged and in love with Badar, who in turn is interested in Maya, the deceiver, whose deception is not even known to Badar. In search of "beli rajpooton ki malika" Maya leaves none undeceived. If I had not read the last page, I would have taken Maya to be dead. Maya from the start had a very mysterious air, who remained unfathomable till the end. Not liking it much somewhere in the middle but now I won't hesitate saying that the ending turned the book for me :)
Nadir loved Zehra.Zehra Loved Badar.Badar Loved Maya. And Maya? She Loved Herself! Ending was unpredictable, she left badar in regret! No Doubt , she was the famous stage actress of london!
"Man will lose his love over his male ego, no matter in which century he is living in"
If I'm not wrong this story took place in 1939. The whole story revolves around Maya (Beli Rajputan Ki Malika), Badar (the handsome and righteous young man), and Zohra (the most beautiful and naive girl in the village). So the question is, Was Maya really a Malika? Was Badar really a righteous man? Was Zohra really an innocent girl?
As a reader, I would say YES, indeed Maya was a princess and the Malika of Beli Rajputan. She's the only main protagonist of this story. I love how Nemrah Ahmed always makes her female characters so strong. The specialty of her female characters is that they are not your daily mediocre innocent dumb woman. I just love how not a single person could able to read her eyes, how she used her brain, and lastly how she decided to chain Badar with his own guilt.
Loving someone means you have to accept everything, not only her/his love but also her/his negative side. Every man loves someone, but only a few can pass the test of love. Fortunately or unfortunately Badar was not on the few people's list. As a reader, I would say he was not a righteous man nor did he know how to love. He was the same as your typical Asian man. He forgot everything just because she was able to make him a fool and hurt his damn ego. Maya had to go to the last stage to prove her love for him, what a tragedy!
Zohra, well, she is a beautiful girl without any brain. As a fan of strong characters, I really despise this kind of lame character from the bottom of my heart. The only goal of her life was to get married to Badar. Duhhhhhhh. Well, a man like Badar deserves a girl like Zohra.
The last page was the magic part of this book. Maya didn't disappoint the reader, I don't know why some readers think that this book has a sad ending. To me, it's the best-ending anyone could ask for.
I first read this book in 2019 and re read it. Even while re reading i wasnt bored for a second. This novel is a ten on ten on every level and I am surpised how underated it is. If you are a fan of mystery and thriller like me, this book is a must read for you. Everything in this novel is so well planned and connected. You will be shocked to see the gravity of even smallest details. The most interesting part about it is its setting, it is set in 1939 before world warII. All the scenes and dialogues are perfectly executed and imagery of the scenery and the emotions is beyond explanation.I love urdu novels and love mystery but urdu novels are often filled with cheap romance troop or typical scenerios written over million times but this book is very different and i am saying it again it deserves more recognition. The character of Maya is my favourite, You could feel her aura ,her strength and her style is something I love. Furthermore chemistry between Maya and Badr is too good.Be ready for twist at the end. Read it if you are fan of flawed and complex characters.I am sure it wont dissappoint you . I love its ending not what i expected but still i think it is good and somehow justified.
As usual amazing work of Nimra Ahmed, this is the first review which I am writing over here. Story was simply thriller, and full of suspense however its not that much good like Namal, Haalim and Jannat ke Pattay. I think this is one of the starting work of her. In starting I thought the story is going slow, I couldn't find anything attracting, but yes after some time you will feel like you are reading something different. Maya Fernandez resembles Taliya binte Murad from Haalim a little bit. She is the lady you'll not be able to do hate or love completely. That Dalhousie scene gives different vibes when you read. I have found such Iconic moments in every work of Nimra Ahmed which I have read. Badar Ghazan's character could be better in the way of lead. Zehera was also a character which contains simplicity, and natural beauty. Maya's character was full of mystery. From mid to end the story went fast. The ending was tragic, we can say it could be justified or not as per opinion. But yes it's an amazing work, you can go through this book.
Indisputably, It adds another feather to Nemrah's stance of writing, and it is nemrah's favorite among her writings. Beli rajputan kimalika as a suspense thriller does justice to the 250 pages it's written on , but but, It certainly isn't better than Jannat ke pattey. The characters Maya, Badr and Zehra are special somehow in their own places. But , nevertheless, in the end, you end up judging Maya as the evil adaakara. And naturally, feel sorry for Badr as he leaves with a life time guilt. And Zehra, she's way too innocent, and totally in love with Badr, though she finally does get married to him, knowing that he loves maya.
So, it's a good read, and keeps you hooked to the story, but doesn't leave you SEHR ZADA, i.e, leaves no special impact .

I read this novel by Nemrah Ahmad many years ago when it was published in digest. It is a mystery novel and oh man she knows how to keep you on your toes. She has woven the plot with elements of mystery and suspense brilliantly. I loved readig this book in my teenage. Storyline is engaging and keeps you moving. Not for a single moment you feel bored. Characters represented are round characters they keep growing and changing with the storyline. Another interesting thing is the setting of this novel. The novel is set in the subcontinent under British Raaj. I loved the character of Maya from the novel. Her dyanmic personality, her strength, her intellect and her vulnerability all make you fall in love with her. You simply can't hate her. And the last move she makes, leaves you shocked but you can't resist smiling on her style. The novels revolves around the theme of crime, love, lust, friendships, animosity, betrayal and vengeance. . A good bedtime read I would call it. Is it recommended? Offcourse any book by Nemrah Ahmad is recommended.
That one book was on my TBR for almost 2 years. Thriller check✅ Characters writing ✅ Suspense ✅ That was my type of read absolutely… thori history thori mystery and booomm the story👏🏻❤️ What make me happy was the ending… i don’t love that book if maya was killed by her father. Instead I love she took the decision to be a con artist for her life. Feeling sad for zohra … and yes she was right when she said she is so simple and honest. She can’t be like maya. Overall it was a good read🫶🏻 for me it was 4.5 ⭐️

Nemrah again with her amazing stories. The reason why I love nemrah so much as a writer is because her stories are so unpredictable and full of thriller, they just suck you in. Something that's not usually experienced in urdu novels. Her stories contain the right amount of romance and other fun twists and turns. They are not bland. BRKM is such an unpredictable masterpiece. The plot twists in this one leave you in awe. An amazing experience.
4.75! Wow, wow, just wow I literally neglected my studies and read this, for hours and it was worth it. I actually made the right guess about "qabaristan ka bhoot" like Sherlock Holmes, mushkil tha wesy😌😼 Then....., the next twist made my jaw drop, AAAAA
for me it is a 5 star story. Kinda short, interesting, topic oriented and amazingly mindblowing. The title itself is very intriguing. the characters were awesome. their chemistry, dialogues and interaction was captivating. as for the love triangle i felt bad for zahra. at a point i started to hate badar. Maya was the main badass character. YOU GO GIRL>>> khair i loved this book def recommended y'all!!
Interesting story and believable characters, but it was quite slow and frustrating in the beginning, and not the type of fast-paced novel I enjoy. The story picked up somewhere around the middle and after that it's great. Suspense is palpable and the ending comes as a surprise, which I enjoyed quite a bit.
Baili Rajputan Ki Malka is yet another phenomenal story by Nimra Ahmed, showcasing her mastery in captivating her readers. The story is fantastic, rich with intrigue and excitement, and it keeps the audience engaged throughout. Nimra Ahmed once again proves her ability to weave a thrilling narrative filled with unexpected twists, especially the surprising one at the end, which was truly remarkable.
However, I felt that the book concluded rather abruptly. The ending seemed rushed, and I believe it could have been more thoughtfully developed to do justice to the otherwise gripping storyline. It felt as though Nimra Ahmed attempted to prolong the story but struggled to maintain her thoughts cohesively to create a more extended narrative, like her masterpieces *Namal* or *Halim*.
Despite this, the book remains an enjoyable and thrilling read, packed with suspense and excitement. The twist in the end, as always, is one of Nimra Ahmed’s trademarks, leaving her readers with shock and wonder. Overall, *Baili Rajputan Ki Malka* is a captivating novel.
It's okay-ish, you can finish it in one sitting and if you're looking for something religious like other novels or nemrah ahmed, this is not like that. It's really a random story from subcontinent under British Era and about a girl searching for Kohinoor's twin
