When a book comes along and you suddenly look up and realize you've read for hours...let's face it, that's seriously the definition of an outstanding read. And this one, folks, is most definitely one of them.

I've become extremely appreciative of great timing whether it's with humor, sex or even thrusting a reader back and forth in character points of views; all of which, this author does in such an effortless way. The words flowed with exceptional pace, absolutely keeping my interest and securely tethering my need to get back to it ASAP.

The heroine and her hero are polar opposites although, the seemingly impossible slowly begins to happen for them...like peeling back an onion and being dumbfounded by the 1 carat diamond seeded perfectly in the center.

I will say, the heroine was someone whom I had a difficult time identifying with since she's basically a hippy to the extreme. But, when I began to understand and even root for her cause, well, let's just say, it was yet another great example of why this well written book hit me like a ton of bricks.

This is the story of Teague, a logger running a successful family business in the wilds of Alaska and Cassidy, a student activist determined to shut down Teague's operation. Cassidy has always seen things as black and white and it's up to Teague to convince her that she can broaden her thinking without losing herself in the process.

I found the premise of this story very attractive - two people with differing viewpoints in a harsh environment, forced to compromise and help each other. Unfortunately for me the story didn't quite live up to my expectations.

I liked Teague. The hero comes across as a strong, likeable, dependable man who cares about the environment and is willing to go all out to help his community. I liked the way the attraction between the main characters developed and was acted upon. The love scenes were sensual and well written.

However I found I just couldn't relate to the heroine. To begin with Cassidy comes across as not particularly intelligent - who doesn't bring boots to Alaska in winter? The fact that she flies across the continent with no knowledge of the company she is protesting against, at the whim of a friend who doesn't show up (and has not been particularly reliable in the past)just seemed unrealistic to me. But more irritating was her vegetarianism and how blatantly rude she was in the face of a plate of meat. I have vegetarian friends, none of whom have even been impolite at a dinner where meat is served - they just don't eat it. Faced with a situation like Cassidy was, where she was relying on Teague to host her due to her own fault, I can't believe she would be so disrespectful to him and his food offerings to her. A polite " no thank you, I'm vegetarian" would have endeared me a lot more to this heroine (as would a pair of boots no matter how impractical for the actual conditions, and a bit of prior knowledge of the company even if for plot purposes the extent of Teague's environmental conscience was left vague).

At the end of the day, my overall feeling of the book was one that had potential that was never fully realized. That being said, I enjoyed the ending of the story and thought it was appropriate for the circumstances. The love scenes were hot, and the book flowed well. I would definitely consider trying another book from the author. A more likeable heroine was all that was needed for me to have rated it higher.

Snowed Under is a charming fast read romance with characters not typically found in most. Cassidy is an over the top hippy environmental activist who flies to Alaska with the intention to shut down the logging operation run by geeky, smart, and sexy Teague Whetman. Adventure and steam soon follow.

Although I found Teague to be almost perfect, as in cute, intelligent, kind, and sexy, I had a difficult time with Cassidy. Especially at the beginning, she seemed totally clueless, rude, and not especially attractive or intelligent. I did like the way the story developed and Jen Greyson can definitely write some steamy love scenes. The ending was nice although a bit abrupt. It would have been a more satisfying read to have a little "more" at the end.

In all, this was an enjoyable romance that was more than just steam.

I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review.

REVIEW: SNOWED UNDER is the contemporary, new adult, erotic romance storyline from author Jen Greyson. The focus of the story is on environmental activist Cassidy and Alaskan logger Teague Whetman. Cassidy is determined to shut down his operations in Alaska but is unprepared for the storm that rages outside and inside of her heart.

Written from alternating first person POV (Cassidy and Teague) the premise follows Cassidy as she leaves the warmth of hometown San Diego behind landing in the wilds of Alaska preparing to protest against Whetman Logging. When a fierce winter storm shuts down everyone and everything Cassidy finds herself a reluctant houseguest of the man whose business she was targeting. Enter one angry moose, an avalanche, eight feet of snow, power outages and a shortage of food -Cassidy is definitely out of her element.

The attraction between Cassidy and Teague is immediate. Near frostbite, a concussion and a raging moose push Cassidy and Teague closer together but Cassidy is left struggling between her beliefs and her attraction to Teague Whetman. Cassidy’s eyes and her mind will be open to the possibilities that not all logging is an environmental catastrophe waiting to happen. Without controlled logging, many people (and animals) would never survive.

Jen Greyson pulls the reader into a winter wonderland of ice and snow. From the darkened forests of Alaska and the men who work and live the terrain, SNOWED UNDER is a romantic storyline about two people who would never have met under any other circumstances until a feisty one woman protest tugs at the heart of a man who has been without a woman for a very long time.

Charmingly slow burning but steamy, Snowed Under, was a quick read that helped to pass a quiet Spring evening in a highly entertaining way.

I adored Cassidy’s character – she was easy to relate to in many ways, especially as one who always dreamed of doing something special to save the planet as a kid (never managed to go veggie though, sausages just taste way too good to give up…). She’s stubborn and knows what she wants and how she’s going to get it until Teague turns up and throws a spanner in the works.

I loved their faltering relationship as they tried to find their feet around each other – polar opposites and not just because of where they live – it leads to a hot and cold relationship that gives you so many almost moments that you can’t bear to stop reading because they haven’t got together and they really really have to! There were plenty of ‘JUST KISS HIM/HER’ moments that agonisingly didn’t quite happen leaving you wanting more.

All of this surrounded by the beautiful but deadly landscape of an Alaskan storm – complete with crazy raging moose which, quite frankly, sound more than a bit terrifying. The concept of so much snow blows my mind being from the UK where the whole country collapses into despair at the sight of three inches of the white stuff – I can only imagine the crushing snow-silence that it would bring and how weird it must have been for Cassidy who was as alien to it as me.

Snowed Under had a whole lot of excitement in its few pages – both in the adventure and the raunchy sense of the word. The balance was just right between story and steam too, I cared about the characters and their story, I knew where they were and why and it wasn’t all just to link together the racy bits – something that Adult fiction often falls down on.

Is there a sequel or is this a standalone? Because I would love to see what happens next!
This was a quick, fun and easy read, and actually more than a basic love story.
The scene takes place in Alaska, the main character is originally from San Diego. And all book long I was wondering how the author was going to make this work ! Because, obviously they don’t have a lot in common… excepted sex !
Teague is a nice guy, a logger, and Cassidy an activist.
She is a risk taker, but seems to grow up in that very short period of time. (3 or 4 days...)
So again, what happens next ? I d love to read more about them !

Racontez-moi…
Merci beaucoup pour l’opportunité !

I was given this book for an honest review…and I honestly loved it! Characters, who on the surface seemed polar opposites, are drawn closely together through undeniable chemistry and deep rooted beliefs. Both share a desire to keep their pasts locked away and their hearts closely guarded, yet can’t help but be drawn to each other’s arms. Cassidy and Teague literally ignite on the pages with their steamy sexual encounters but the tenderness and protectiveness lingers long after the glow subsides. This is a story of doing more than just chasing dreams while staying true to who we really are and accepting and believing that sometimes the possibilities are even better than what we imagined.

The story left me hoping for another tale, needing to know more about the pasts that led Cassidy and Teague to the driven activist and community-minded logger geek. Wherever they go, we know that the future will be filled with adventures, clashes in views, and hot steamy passion to melt even the coldest Alaskan blizzards.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review: This was a cute and cuddly book to read. There were a lot of unanswered questions such as why he is so secretive about his family, and what the next step was but it’s a cute stepping stone to what maybe in store for this couple, which I hope there is more to come. I liked that they are very different – their differences were so obviously extreme but the author did a great job making you believe that opposites do attract when in most scenarios you just can’t see past it. They were compatible in the most incompatible way. Conservative geek god meets tatted tree hugging hottie, what’s not to like? Their passion and beliefs were so strong that each was a strong character in their own right that made you want to route for both…ok I routed more for Teague but I’m not a tree hugging vegetarian so I couldn’t relate to her as much…sorry. I liked this but hope to see more in store for this couple as it felt incomplete.

I'm actually surprised the snow didn't melt as soon as it hit the logging company in Alaska, this book was that hot! It's a quick read that kept me page bound for a couple hours. There were times I wanted to yell at the two of them for some of the stupid predicaments they got themselves into, but it worked for this book. I loved the idea of sharing and growing instead of being so set in ways that nothing could penetrate. I do hope we can learn more of Teague's past, it is touched on but questions were left unanswered, but because this is going to be a series, maybe we will hear more. I know Cassidy's story is being told in the next book that is coming out...can't wait for that! Snowed Under is a little gem of a book that will leave you hotter than a cat on a tin roof. If you are into steamy relationships pick this one up!

for my honest review i was really shocked how much i enjoyed this book. Cassidy gets in a plane ready to take on the big guys. she is positive that today there will be a change. on her way to Alaska never did she think that Mother Nature had different plans. she should have seen it when she touched down and she was so under dressed for the weather there. when she looks around to find a familiar face she notice no one around. there she was ready to take on the big logging company and never would she have guessed that destiny would make it so easy for her. she hitches a ride with the most nerdy and handsome all in one guy named Teague never would she have guessed he was the owner of the logging company that she had plans to turn upside down, but karma had a plan of its own.
this book kept me so interested that i really enjoyed every detail. the author out did herself.

I seem to love all of Jen's books. They keep me so caught up that I'm mad when they end and I felt the same way about this book. I would love to read more about Teague and Cassidy and see where their story goes because they are so different but at the same time they are the same. They both have the same beliefs but go at it a different way. I loved the way that Cassidy was fierce and believed in her cause although she never really thought about a lot of the things that she was doing and Teague was the guy that was trying to change the way that things have been done.

What could an environmental activist and a lumberman have in common? Perhaps not very much, BUT, their chemistry was combustible from their first meeting and the huge Alaska snowstorm that kept them inside gave them plenty of time to get to know one another and find more than physical chemistry to keep them entertained. A steamy story but one that has believable characters, more information about Alaska than I knew before and a moose or two that provided added excitement. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I was given this book for an honest review. First off, it took me two hours to read. Though the slow building, descriptive, attraction does not feel like a fast read. Cassidy is a confused heart warming loveable activist fighting against her attraction to the one she should detest. This isn't about her giving away her beliefs but readjusting them, not for Teague, but for the right reasons. Wonderful, heartfelt, steaming read.

When activist Cassidy from San Diego steps of a lite plane in remote Alaska to stage a protest a logging company, she's got no clue how her life will change in the next 72 hours. In walks Teague Whetman the antithesis of her stereotype for a hard-core logging CEO. He's young, gorgeous and undeniably yummy! Will she be able to resist his allure when the snow comes?

I'm not so sure!!

This is my favorite type of book stranded in an ice storm. The story was set in Alaska where an activist goes against the owner of a saw mill. They get stuck in his house with little food and some adventure with a couple of moose. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the others from this author to come out.

Teague is perfection while Cassidy grows on you throughout the book (thanks to being around him!). Cute story, awesome setting...sizzling romance. I don't know how she got on that plane to leave Alaska and Teague! I like the possibilities this could have a sequel.

I was provided a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I think it had a lot of potential, but parts just did not work for me.

Cassidy is a student and environmentalist who takes off to Alaska with plans to meet a friend and stage a protest at a logging company. She is not prepared at all for what awaits her. She has done no research, counting on her friend to provide that on site, but her friend never arrives. She doesn't even have appropriate clothes, wearing the sandals she wore back home in San Diego.

Teague is an MIT graduate who has come back home to Alaska to run the family logging business. He is not at all what Cassidy expects to find as he defies all of her stereotypes. I liked Teague a lot. He was smart and sexy.

Teague and Cassidy end up trapped together in a snow storm and for me Teague became an even more likable character while I remained ambivilent about Cassidy until the end.

This was a quick read but wrapped up a little too suddenly.

Overall not a bad read, just wasn't all I hoped it would be.

Snowed Under by Jen Greyson maybe be considered a novella, but on the longer side it captured a full story in a way that didn't feel rushed or incomplete. It was truly an enjoyable read, a well written story that captured the Alaskan setting from the perspective of an outsider, as a reader on the other side of the world I felt like I was being exposed to a climate, community and way of life that was foreign but also accessible and relatable.

The only downside for me was the protagonist, Cassidy. I found her grating, ignorant and painful which made her difficult to relate to, and made it hard for me personally to get into the book. However, as we got to know Teague and Cassidy developed as a character as she grew as a person, I found myself really enjoying the book and loving the odd couple pairing. While some might also find it tough at the beginning, I would still recommend this novella highly, and will look out for more by Jen in the future.

I was given this ARC for an honest review.

It was a cute 'opposites attract' quick read. Teague and Cassidy came together a bit too quickly for my liking, but this was meant to be a short novella, so I went with it.

There is so much more that the author can do with this couple and I have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of them. I seemed to connect with Teague more than Cassidy, but really, both characters were likeable. I loved the idea that Cassidy describe Teague as kind of geeky….in my mind he was a hot geek…can it get any better?! ;) Hot geek meets tatted up vegan!! I love it and would be willing to read more about them!

I really struggled to connect with Cassidy she annoyed me from the start with the whole wearing sandals thing and vegetarian not that there is anything wrong with being vegetarian it's her attitude that came with it

there were plenty of funny moments and hot sex scenes but Cassidy ruined it for me

I read this book as part of the Love Addiction Box Set which I received as a complimentary copy in return for an honest review

Sexy, sweet, short and generally feel good fluff. Not my usual sort of thing but I like Jen's writing (characterization and descriptive aspects) so this was a fairly enjoyable read despite it not being my usual genre. 3.5 stars!
