A nice summary of learning journals as a means for reflection and learning - lots of useful typologies and lists to think about options. The most striking part for me was the rather obvious but powerful observations on the process of assimilation and accomodation as described by Piaget. Moon states
"cognitive structure may change without the addition of new material of learning. We "change our minds". There is no new material of learning. This closely accords with the notion of reflection in a learning journal"
Seeing reflection as internal accommodation is a very helpful idea. She also has an excellent list of journalling activities.
