To find out, read His Reluctant Princess - a steamy, angsty romantic suspense. This is the second book in The Royal Guard series.
His Reluctant Princess: A Steamy, Angsty Romantic Suspense by Kyra Seth is the second book in The Royal Guard series.
Now, I did not read the first part, so it took some time to fill in the gaps at parts where the plot was related to/based off on the first book, but that gets better as we move ahead in the story.
I want to state the fact that I am happiest with the title, more like happiest with how suspense is placed last in "Steamy, Angsty and Romantic" as the book really is Steamy with a capital S.
You know some of the books where the girl thinks the guy is not at all interested in her and hence makes a decision on both of their behalf and then we read the guy's perspective and we realise "oh, so he likes her too, huh!" So then, you decide to continue read the book to see how soon they figure it out that they both like each other. I love it when the characters impact me enough to keep reading even when you are internally screaming that "oh please just talk it out and be together already because c'mon y'all belong together besties!". Yeah that was me after I read the first few pages of the first chapter from Digvijay's point of view after having read the very first chapter of the book from Tasha's point of view.
I’d like to clarify that the book is not just all steamy and stuff, it's also funny, - funny like filled with dark humor and sarcasm funny, and I absolutely loved that. My favourite humorous part came 2 pages into the book, which was:-
' “Only an idiot wouldn’t be happy in paradise,” I replied, with a smile. And that proved what my mother had always said. I was an idiot. '
The plot also explores the areas of suspense which begins with Tasha being threatened through creepy messages when she is supposed to be safe at a retreat. And from there the suspense part begins, but in my opinion it wasn't that hard to guess who was being the bad guy and the plot, as I could guess that pretty easily.
One more thing I would like to point out is that, Tasha is actually Natasha who has now decided to go by Tasha, to make sure that there's a change which she is controlling in her life after a lot of bad things that happened to her. And then we came to the first chapter with DJ's pov and I was soooo floored with happiness at how he thinks of her as Tasha whenever we get to read what's going on inside his mind.
I really enjoyed the story and am definitely going to read the first book in the series.
My rating is a 4 out of 5 stars.
Will recommend it to those who enjoy funny, yet serious and steamy romance books with Royal characters.
His Reluctant Princess: A Steamy, Angsty Romantic Suspense by Kyra Seth is the second book in The Royal Guard series. And I was really wanting to read this one ever since I read the first book of the series where we had met Her Highness Natasha Raje and Maharajah Digvijay Singh aka DV. And this book is theirs, though Samar and Sona from the previous book also make their presence felt, but why not? He is DV’s best friend and Sona and Tasha are cousins. Tasha and DV were engaged since the day Tasha was born as their father's had planned on getting them married and they were ready to get married as a part of their duty to their fathers. But Tasha realizes that DV is sacrificing his happiness at the altar so she calls of the wedding and runs off to Goa. And she starts afresh living in a safe, gated community, Paradiso, a commune in Goa. But is it safe, when she starts getting threats and DV decides that marry her or not, he will protect Tasha. The story is interesting, not just a run off the mill second- chance romance, but different. It has drama, suspense, humour and is funny. The mystery kept me guessing as to who would be behind the threats. The banter between Tasha and DV is very cute. I liked how the author has portrayed the relationship between Samar and DV and also the bond between Sona and Tasha. The book has been narrated well, the language is simple, the characters well crafted and relatable and the conversation so natural. A must, must read for all romance lovers.
His Reluctant Princess: A steamy, angsty romantic suspense (The Royal Guard Book 2) The story of Her Highness Natasha Raje aka Tasha and Maharaja Digvijay Singh aka DV is a romance thriller where you have the opportunity to enjoy a crime thriller with steamy romance. Tasha is betrothed to Maharaja DV but she breaks all the ties and comes to Paradiso. She is enjoying her bachelor days when one fine day she finds a dead chicken on her bed. It was a horrible encounter as it happened all of a sudden and nobody knows whether it was a prank or done deliberately. Soon DV joins her and many unknown facts start to be revealed. Between all these DV and Tasha couldn't ignore their attraction and chemistry and their relationship started blooming when suddenly the attacks started regularly. DV is trying hard to catch the culprit but it's not easy. So many hidden secrets and people are jealous of Tasha for many reasons. How exactly will they have their happy ending? Who is behind all the attacks? Will DV and Tasha recognize their attraction? Is there a HEA for them? The steamy hot sizzling story of Tasha and DV is a good-to-go romance that has a little tadka of thriller in it. An enjoyable read 👍👍
Natasha aka Tasha and Digvijay Singh aka DV have their destinies intertwined since the day the were born and their father's planned on getting them married.
While both were ready for the marriage for the sake of duties and value of promises our reluctant princess valued self-respect and love than status and fortune.
When she realised DV is getting married for the sake of it, she called of the engagement and escaped her princess life staying at an island.
I loved this book better than the first. This book was worth the wait the author did a challenging work with extreme ease be it sarcasm, humor, well sometimes dark, suspense, mystery, thrill and the highlight of the book Steamy Hot romance.
DV and Tasha have some amazing chemistry and exceptional relation more of a love-hate one but secretly only love but cannot understand the other person.
The authors bold move of adding a suspense mystery had me on the edge. And the narration is extremely engaging making it impossible to leave the book.
Overall a book recommended for everyone because there's something for all!
DV and Natasha. The prince and the princess who have known each other since ages, yet reluctant to open their hearts to each other. Somewhere the chemistry, the connect is there but both unwilling to acknowledge. Natasha has had a difficult life in spite of being royalty. She holds herself very close and is totally vary of letting anyone in. She has her reasons that are valid. She runs away, takes another name Tasha and tries to built a life beyond the coveted princess tag. DigVijay Singh aka DV has always had a soft corner and love for Natasha but like her he too is vary of holding heart to its sleeve and believes in getting married for the sake of duty and covering his love. What happens when they have to confront each other again? Will they be able to acknowledge their hearts and give love a chance? Read to find out. A very beautiful narration that keeps you hooked. The chemistry is crackling and the mystery is blended well to keep you on the edge till the end. Loved the way all the characters are depicted.
An old tale with predictable plotlines and twists, presented in a new way with a sassy and quirky narrative.
My rating: 4.3/5 Determined to break all ties with her messed up and (supposedly?) secured royal life, Her Highness Natasha Raje escapes to Paradiso, a commune in Goa. She has also broken her betrothal to Maharajah Digvijay Singh aka DV, the only man she has ever loved. But when her friends, along with DV, show up at the commune unannounced, Natasha's sense of escape as well as security are shattered. Why? Because someone has planted a dead chicken in her cottage at the commune. Is it a prank or is it a threat from someone who is determined to make Natasha pay for something? DV swears not to leave Natasha's side till the case is solved. It doesn't help the case when DV and Natasha are at each other's throats and the flying sparks between them can't be ignored by either them or those around them.
The second book in the The Royal Guard Book series by Kyra Seth is here, and I cannot keep my calm. I read the first book in this series as well, and loved it. And I felt the same for this one too. Being a hopeless romantic, I loved Her Highness Natasha Raje and Maharajah Digvijay Singh, aka DV.
The relationship between them is so cute and romantic. How they went from not liking each other to loving each other so so much. The banter between them is simply awesome. Despite the nearly formulaic nature of the plot, I could not help but be drawn in by the novel because I love romance. I appreciated the writer's ability to evoke strong emotions.
I really enjoyed how suspenseful it was. The cover is just so enticing, and the language is simple. You would adore this one if, like me, you enjoy spicy romance.
I just finished reading the second book in the The Royal Guard Book series by Kyra Seth.
The story is about Her Highness Natasha Raje and Maharajah Digvijay Singh aka DV. The attraction between these two is like that of enemies to lovers (although not exactly). They both do not want to be with each other (read marriage); however, they cannot also stay away from each other.
Well, I have seen multiple movies, read books, and heard stories like this. They do not stimulate me anymore.
Now, you may ask me, why did I even read the book? The answer to this is Kyra Seth. I simply love her writing style—simple, crisp, and to the point. A tale as old as time, presented in a new way with a fun & sarcastic narrative.
To round up, even if you don’t like love stories, this book won’t disappoint you.
His Reluctant Princess: A Steamy, angsty romantic suspense by Kyra Seth is the second book in the "The Royal Guard Book Series". The story revolves around Her Highness Natasha Raje breaks her unwanted betrothal to Maharajah Digvijay Singh aka DV. Natasha Raje broke off her engagement and flew to Goa. DV is happy with this decision, however, something is still bothering him. Why is he still missing her? When someone pulls a cruel trick on Natasha at the same time as DV's disastrous spying assignment, DV steps in, bag and all, to play the role of the hero. Even though Her Highness is not going to marry him, he will be damned if he does not still protect her! What follows is a journey to remember, full of suspense, drama, romance, and love. In my opinion, this book is perfect for teenagers and people in their early 20s.
Love story of Tasha and DV was really fantastic. The book His Reluctant princess is definitely a must read for all readers who love reading love and romance fiction books. I have read the first series so for me it was so exciting to read it's second part.
Well, first book had a beautiful story. But this story is just a masterpiece. The author has tried to add every element that makes a book interesting and amazing. The book has very good chemistry between the couple. As I started reading, I wasn't able to take a break as this has so much romance and drama that will amaze you through the pages.
The book has easy language and I enjoyed reading every part of the story. The cover of the book is simply amazing which attracted me a lot to read this book. I recommend this book to every reader who loves reading romance fiction books.
The book started with Her Royal Highness Natasha Raje flees to Paradiso, a commune in Goa, breaking her undesired engagement to Maharajah Digvijay Singh, nicknamed DV. She also turns her back on the world of old money and even older grievances. DV is overjoyed. Tasha called off their engagement. Neither she nor he are interested in getting married, but he still misses her. Consequently, he had to spy on her at her priceless commune. Though the story started like any other typical romantic story, the development of the story is what really captured my attention. The book is not just about love; there are many subplots containing suspense, drama, and that is what makes it an engaging read. The two main characters are well defined; however, I really liked how Kirti Mehta's character is portrayed. Overall, a fun one-time read.
His Reluctant Princess by Kyra Seth is a wonderful work of fiction that takes you on a fantasy ride worth indulging into. The excellently delivered plot and the well crafted characters made the book an engaging read.
A book about a kingdom, a prince and a princess each have their own set of expectations and their own unique individuality worth living for.
Will a woman stand against a man whom she's deem to marry but only because he doesn't love her, she denies the union.
A story to live and explore and a theory to endure. The book is a plethora of emotions delivering love, revenge, deceit and much more in an impressive manner. The narration of the book is quite amusing to keep the reader intact till the end of the tale. Well delivered!!!
As someone who loves angst-filled romances, this book completely exceeded my expectations. It was an emotionally charged rollercoaster ride, which was a wow-worthy experience.
It was such a quick, short read filled with adorable banter between the characters. Also, the cover is simply stunning. The moment I saw it, I could not take my eyes off its sheer beauty and the way it screams ROYALTY.
The author's writing style flows smoothly throughout the book, and the characters' dialogues feel natural and fun, adding to the book's charm. I highly recommend this book to fellow romance enthusiasts looking for a thrilling and heartfelt read.
Author has really done very good work in narrating the love story, DV and Tasha were engaged since birth. They considered it their destiny. The twist in their journey comes when Tasha decides to break the engagement The book contains lots of ups and downs in their love The way the plots are built and after that the story simply flows The book never fail to surprise you time to time with various hidden punches which makes the story more interesting The Chemistry between Tasha and Digvijay aka DV is mind blowing The story about Vishal and the second chance in love really amazed me Worth reading 👌🏼
Princess Natasha breaks her engagement and walks away from her fiancée Maharaja Digvijay Singh whom she had loved all her life but is it same for DV? I have been waiting to read Tasha's story, her character intrigued me in last book - His Accidental Princess. DV's character is interesting and little unrealistic. Chemistry between Tasha and DV is off the charts. I really enjoyed reading their banter. This Royal romance with dash of suspense kept me hooked. Though i really missed Jimjam.
This book was cute. And followed the same cue from the last one in the series. It was fast-paced, funny (though the last one was funnier), and both had abrupt endings. I had been very curious about DV and Tasha - the bethroal, the cigarette burns, the breakup, and I am glad the 2 virgins found each other. Now DV being in RAW and how that has been described is not very factual in the same way that Rambo Samar' s NSG escapades weren't in the 1st book. I wish there was more of Rani sa and how she was coping. This book was spicier than the last one, though, and a little cheesier, too.
PS: Still interested in knowing Sakshi aur Jaideep ke beech kya hua?? PPS: Tasha and DV are both virgins yet how are they both so well versed in the deed. Did they take a course on intercourse??
I don’t like the FMC of this book. She was a little interesting in the previous book as a side character but disappointing in this one. As about the rest of the book, whatever I said about the first book in this series in my review is the same as I feel about this one.
This was definitely better than His Accidental Princess because the overbearing-ness in that one was enough to make me want to scream. There's like a little of that here, but it's in the style that you get in a Regency romance and not in a way that makes me think it's a little bit of a crime
