Former Miss Texas Leigh Ann Baker knows she is more than a beauty queen. Convincing everyone else in her life of that is the problem, especially her overbearing mother who wants to marry her off to the highest bidder like a prize pig at the county fair. Determined to prove that she isn't just a pretty face, Leigh Ann takes a job at a local vet's office, but remembers too late that, even though she loves animals, they hate her. Her sexy new boss, veterinarian and single dad, Wes Jepson, isn't amused at the tragic comedy which ensues and spirals his office into chaos. Trying to make it up to him and keep her job, Leigh Ann goes to a local ranch to collect an overdue bill and wades knee-deep into the shady dealings going on at the ranch. Suddenly, she's up to her tiara in trouble, the bad guys want her dead and the only one who can save her is a six-foot-tall vet with a bad attitude. But will he even try when he seems to want her gone too? **NOTICE** The COVER of this book has been changed, but the content is the same.

Ok so I have read the whole series and was eagerly awaiting this little gem and now I've read it I'm already looking forward to the next one! As readers we may not like all the characterics of a book's hero and one in particular in Royal Trouble really wound me up at times! Then there are the characters we love to hate and see how similar they are to some people we know!
Royal Trouble reflects just a taste of a true cross section from society and Becky showcases (again) her imagination, depth of character development and the instinctive ability to mould her work of fiction into something worth reading.
People do change, putting into place the sequence of events that result in this process takes an understanding of human nature that many people cannot articulate well. I read for the anticipation and to escape my everyday, someone else's everyday is fascinating! When a book keeps you interested from start to finish (and it did, I read non-stop!) it shows a talent for tapping into emotions and I spent most of this book with my heart breaking for Leigh Ann (mainly), Wes and Trey.
Royal Trouble - a demonstration of nature and nuture combined; someone's personality will remain the same but through events can become jaded. The ensuing events determine whether that jaded disposition is enforced or reversed and this cracker went back and forth a heck of a lot!
Definitely one of my favourites in the series with lots of tension, suspense and believable misunderstandings that keep things interesting.
....I have no idea so I'm just going to be honest... As much as I was drawn in by the blurb, and as much as I liked reading about the heroines mini adventures, it just left me constantly sighing... I don't know what it is about books today (specifically today) that's just making every male lead suck major balls. I don't know what his problem was, so your ex wife was a beauty who just happened to be a complete bitch, that gives you the right to treat good looking people like shit for no reason? No.It doesn't, all the books I've read today have involved stupid dumb ass men who judge a book by its cover. This book, he was like "O.M.G she's sooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty, must be a manipulator" then kisses her, rejects her and says she's a mistake..All because she's pretty...
This guy has what I like to call "H.I.A.S" Also known as Head In Ass Syndrome.
I wanted him to be more up to taking charge but for the most part he was whimpering, having a pity party the size of Texas, and generally being a pussy.
On the plus side the writing style and editing was well done :)
Ok- this was a DNF after a chapter or two. It made me want to pull my hair out and scream. Whiny whiny whiny. That's all I was picking up from this. If I want to hear that much whining, I'll just give my kids extra chores.
I just love a good romance with a hot cowboy and his totally cute little boy. Wes Jepson had been hurt badly by his ex-wife and wasn't sure if he would be able to love again. His son Trey only wanted a mama that loved him. In walks Leigh Ann Baker. She should walk around with a blinking neon sign that reads "TROUBLE". She's not trouble but it does seem to follow her around. She's exactly the kind of woman Wes doesn't want but can't seem to stay completely away from.
This was a fantastic story! I love books that are a little longer in length (over 300 pages) because it allows me to live in it a little longer. This story had lots of love, a ton of anger, crying, laughter, frustration, hope and despair and I think I felt each one of those emotions too. I was so drawn into this story that when someone did something wrong I thought I could reach out and shake them or hug them when they needed it. Thank you Becky McGraw for writing such a fantastic story that I felt so completely immersed in, I felt like I was actually there. I definitely can't wait to read more by this author.
Oil and Water. That would describe Leigh Ann Baker and Dr. Wes Jepson. Well that would describe them in the first half of the book. But these two turned into Gas and Flame by the end of the book.
She is filled with self doubts of her worth outside of the world of pageantry where she won the title of Miss Texas. In the real world there was very little she could do, including making her sister or her mother happy.
Wes is filled with distrust and fear of commitment, again. What these two do together to finally face the truth of their love and the truth of who they were, was at times funny, heartbreaking, frustrating and endearing. Wes's son adds just the quiet touch that is needed. Another page turner by Becky McGraw. Loved it.
This was the story of Dr Wes Jepson and Roxanne sister Leigh Ann. Leigh Ann is a former Miss Texas and she has no other skills to find a job and she needs one. Her mom keeps trying to marry her off to old rich men and she doesn't want that, so she has to go out on her own. Rocky get her a job with her friend the vet who is Wes. Leigh Ann knows nothing about being a vet assistant, but her sister tries to train her. Of course Wes is attracted to her and so is his son Trey. There is a lot of action and things going on in this story as they get to know one another. It is a very cute story with a great ending. With this one I have read Becky Mcgraw's new book which is number 11, so I have read and loved them all
Arrrghhh!!!! Wes is so infuriating I want to slap him... He's looking for a new assistant to help with his book keeping.. A friend recommends her sister for the job.. As a winner of miss USA and having her mum dictate everything, she flees to her sisters ranch... and lands a job with Wes , but he's been burned badly in the past and has walls built around his heart, he doesnt want to be attracted to her, so he's mean and pushes her away, thinking she's like his b#tch of an ex wife..
A good read from Becky Leigh Ann and Wes’s story didn’t do it for me as the others in the series, I think one of the reasons there was to many dumb blonde moments and oh they’re together arguments oh they’re not. The one thing I loved was Trey Wes's son he was great and those moment picked me up a bit. Even though it was still a good read and would probably reread it along with the rest of the series can’t wait to read more from this series
There are some unanswered questions that I assume will be answered in the next book. Wes and Leigh Ann were a fighting couple. We only got to see one steaming scene with them. I did enjoy his son Trey. This author does like to draw out the misery and only give a little on the HEA.
Not many romances are funny through and through but Wes and Leigh Ann take the cake! They are so sincerely messed up both individually and as a couple you have to laugh. If not you would be crying for the sad state of affairs they keep finding themselves in. Bravo Becky they Rock as a couple! I think they had the roughest road to happiness so far. Write on. Davia
When you feel like you can't do anything right what do you do When you want something but yet you feel useless Can a sexy vet love you. When you don't love yourself To love a little boy. Who feels that no momma will love him To want a life of love. .......... Read this book and feel
This is such a great series. I have read 11 of the 12 books in one week, and loved every one. The stories are all so interesting that you just want to keep reading.
Leigh Ann is a beautiful walking time bomb, but really just wants to do the right thing. Is single father Wes man enough to get over his past and give her a chance?
You know when you are a book by Becky McGraw you are in for a wild ride and this book is no exception! I love how we see both old and new characters and how everything connects together. I can't want for the next book in the series
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Lot off fun and laughter, sweet romance and some heat weaved in. Wonderful book to take a break for our day to day life.
