See How She Runs is mystery, fantasy and a dose of sweet romance that will rock your world, just like it did to mine!

After reading only a few pages I was instantly hooked on the story and the protagonist.

Izzy is strong, witty, smart woman that lives in Chicago and is a bike Messenger. Her quirkiness makes her very likeable, which made connecting with her easy.

Izzy lives with her sexy best friend Kennan, who’s a delicious eye candy and really protective. I instantly fell in love in him! He’s got golden heart and the fact that he is major hottie only makes me want him more ;)

Grave’s characters are really well developed and every of them has different personality that made me love them more. Which is a big puls for me!The other thing that’s captivating and made me read faster is unique plot, that enchanted me.

One day Izzy delivers a package to strange man, that really creeps her out. After accidentaly touching his hand she knows she has to stay away from him.

When Kennan finds out about it her life drastically change. Kennan isn’t exactly who she thought he is, her life isn’t quite normal and she is in great danger… Now, she has to run.

She enters a world of danger, evil, Seers and Guardians.

There were mere moments when I felt like some things were a little bit rushed and I couldn’t grasp them easily. I also wish I could get more romance and descriptions of feelings, it would made Grave’s writing more seductive.

Overall, See how she runs is a little hidden gem that needs to be discovered! Amazingly mysterious cover is only a small taste of what you’ll get and a great promise of mystical world like no other. Extremely enjoyable Urban Fantasy story that will make your heart beat faster and shows you a world you’ve never seen before.

Solid 4 star read!

This book has to be my favourite FREE one-click find to date. If a Fantasy is done right I’ll be its biggest fan, there is nothing better than being transported into another world, better yet if there is some beautiful type of romance to ensue...

I can’t even begin to list every single thing I loved about this book. If I did that then it would literally be pages and pages of spoiler filled goodness. So for the sake of leaving some mystery for all of you wanting to read this in the future, I’ll have a go at reigning myself in.

This book begins with what essentially is really a super bad day in the office for the main character Izzy. She has no idea about what really is going on in the world or how it affects her and the people she knows. That is, until her peaceful oblivion is shattered. Once she has started this chain of events there is just no turning back, her old life is in the past and she has to learn about her new life quickly if she wants to survive. As with so many first books of a series, this book needs to spend a decent amount of its page space building up the back-story and the characters while setting the scene for the storyline to unfold. Michelle Graves goes above and beyond with covering all of these aspects. I loved the fact that I was learning a lot of (necessary) information but still was flicking through the pages feeling like the story was accelerating. I was captured straight away and didn’t for a second feel like anything didn’t ‘fit’ or was awkward or slow.

My BBH and I love strong woman characters, and really who doesn’t?! When I open a book I want to love my main girl. I want to be completely in her corner... And Izzy has 100% got me in her corner. Her smart mouth, coupled with her completely inappropriate timing, as well as her caring personality combined with her relentless drive and fierce bravery made for one ah-mazing heroine. So many of her one-liners had me cracking up and I definitely wasn’t expecting to spend so much time giggling away to myself. I LOVED that Izzy and the other characters bought such a decent dose of humor. It’s definitely an aspect that not only made me completely obsessed with Izzy as a character, but also really set this book apart from others in its genre.

Holy cow, hormones, let’s just put that on the back burner and come back to it never.

I can’t write this review and not make a special mention of Kennan. Kennan was the Mr Sexy-pants of the book; a title well deserved, may I say. His big gruff protector demeanor was perfect for this story; this guy was no one dimensional eye-candy. He was just as a big of a part of this story as Izzy was and I loved that his character was so well fleshed out. Just like with how I like my heroine to be kick-ass, if a male character wants to be book boyfriend material he needs to be a hot-big-strong-protector with a gooey-caramel centre... I can honestly say Kennan passes on all accounts. Book boyfriend material he most certainly is... He’s definitely one complex guy, yet despite all of the gruffness and complexity he is irresistibly lovable.

While I was reading this book I was describing it to my BBH and told her that it was a lot heavier on the romance side than the action side. After finishing it I stick by that observation. The action is there... and it does kick up a notch towards the end and I know for certain there is a truck-load of action in the subsequent books (yep already read them! Literally. Could. Not. Stop.) But like I said before, this book is setting the stage. I love that Michelle Graves started this story off properly and spent the time exploring the characters and their relationships. Believe me, between the smart-assed jibes and the intense chemistry there is no time to be bored. This book has really set the stage for what I can tell, is going to be an amazing series.

SEE HOW SHE RUNS Blog Tour Stops at Tome Tender September 23rd!

Please stop by - Enter to Win HUGE!
Who likes a smart, funny, quirky little heroine with a side of handsome, warm, intelligent and fiercely protective hero? (Go ahead, raise your hands) Bet you’d like them even more if their banter and dialogue could run you through the gamut of emotions! Did I mention their dream sharing? Add a little paranormal activity, some mystery and some action to the romantic tension with a great pace, fantastic world building and lots of flashbacks to the past. Do NOT forget the necessary, “You have a past that has been hidden from you,” and the “You have powers beyond anyone before you,” and the “I am your Guardian, I will always be here for you,” lines and you have See How She Runs by Michelle Graves!

What makes See How she Runs stand out from the crowd? My guess is it’s Michelle Graves with her attention to every detail in every scene! I enjoyed the teasing, the friendship, the closeness of Izzy and Kennan, even as Kennan is forced to tell Izzy the truth of her past, he does it with a gentle and caring manner. Izzy actually absorbs everything well, and her inner strength is so obvious, I couldn’t help but lose myself in the story of these two fantastic characters! Everything from Izzy’s mental dialogue to the dialogue shared between her and Kennan was like eavesdropping on two real people!

I love to escape into a story like this from a talented author like Michelle Graves who has built a solid foundation for this new series that promises fun, fantasy, turmoil and a great escape from reality!

I received a review copy as part of Michelle Graves’ See How She Runs Blog Tour in exchange for my honest review.

When I first found out that Michelle Graves wrote a book, See How She Runs, and I started reading the prequel on her blog, Michelle Graves Writes, I instantly fell in love with Izzy, the story's heroine. Michelle also teased us with the first chapter of her book on her blog. Talk about knowing how to hook you in then keep you waiting with bated breath!

Izzy is a funny and quirky character who is also independent, strong and smart. Kennan, is well... You'll have to read the story to fall in absolute love with Kennan. He is dreamy. Izzy and Kennan had me laughing and falling in love throughout the story. There were other characters that were essential to story and fit so well with Izzy and Kennan. Michelle did an incredible job at introducing and developing these characters where you are left wanting to know more about who they are and what their story is.

One of the things I loved about See How She Runs is the story line. I enjoy reading a good paranormal/urban fantasy story, who doesn't, but I'm used to reading about witches, vampires, werewolves or faeries. You know, the usual suspects. Well, See How She Runs is about Izzy being a Seer. I've never read a story about seers and marveled at the world that Michelle created about seers, their abilities and livelihood.

My only regret when reading See How She Runs is not being able to finish the book as quickly as I wanted too. Darn life getting in the way of my reading. I craved to read this book and read it every chance I could get. This was one of those stories that you had to see what was happening, you just had to know how it was going to end. The story ended wonderfully but it was certainly left open for more adventures to come in Izzy's life.

See How She Runs is Michelle's debut novel. I must say that it is a great story to debut with. See How She Runs hooks you from the very beginning. The details and story line create an amazing imagery in your mind that doesn't let you go.

Do I recommend this? You better believe I do! If you like intelligent, funny heroines who are confident in themselves, I do. If you want to read a refreshing paranormal/urban fantasy tale, I do.

I was grateful and felt honored to have been able to receive an ARC of See How She Runs. The book will be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble on July 17th. Be sure to mark your calendars so that you can join Izzy on her journey to becoming a Seer and learning more about her world.

4.5 out of 5 stars.
Disclosure: This ebook was provided by the author in exchange for an HONEST and not necessarily positive review.

I decided not read the book synopsis beforehand as I wanted a surprise.
When I first started reading I thought the story was classic 'sexy billionaire CEO falls for lowly bike courier....' I didn't mind, as within a couple of pages I felt a connection to Izzy the main character, her sense humour and use of "Granny" phrases felt as if I was reading a letter or journal entry of a close friend. So it came as a bit of a surprise to discover the story was paranormal and that Izzy was a seer. Kennan her Guardian is not the stereotypical arrogant Alpha male, which made for a pleasant change.

I loved when Izzy realises that there are high expectations regarding her abilities. She has an inner monologue "The heroine should at least have some perk. Maybe a bat cave or shiny weapons. Instead I get the wilderness and a Bipolar Sensei" I laughed out loud at this turn of phrase.

There was a part of the book where I had similar feelings to watching a horror movie when I felt like shouting at Izzy not to be a dumb female and go it alone in the name of saving those that she loved, But it all turned out well in the end. There was no cliffhanger but was set up nicely for a sequel. I am looking forward to continuing the journey with Izzy and Kennan in future books. I also want to read Ian and Molly's story as they were supporting characters in this book but both had strong characters and quirkiness that made me want to know more.

If you are a fan of romance, fantasy, or suspense, you will fall in love with See How She Runs, the debut novel by Michelle Graves. I found myself absolutely enthralled from the first page to the last and did not put the book down until I was finished.

The story follows, Izzy Boone, a Chicago bike messenger living in a home left to her by her late grandmother. She lives in this home with her roommate, Kennan O'Malley, a mysterious, handsome, man that she met while he was working at the local pub. The two became fast friends. The day that Izzy delivers a package to businessman, Xavier Xander, her life as she knows it will never be the same.

Her best friend, Kennan, is now her protector and so much more as she is forced to run from a Corporation intent on catching her. She must abandon the life she has known and allow the people she meets along the way mentor and ease her into her new destiny as a seer.

Everything about this book will pull you in. The sexy, witty, and funny male characters. The strong and humorous, Izzy. Combined with the setting, this book reads more like a blockbuster movie in your mind. I can't wait to follow Izzy on her journey in the next books in the series. This is my favorite book of 2013 and a definite 5 plus star read!

See How She Runs (The Chronicles of Izzy, #1) by Michelle Graves

Izzy is an average young woman working as a bicycle messenger girl in Chicago. Soon she learns her life is not what it seems to be. As her life path is revealed she finds herself in danger and has some serious choices to make to stay alive. Who can be trusted and what is their motive? She is about to find out and has to accept herself for who she is.

I really loved the writing style and the originality of this story. Izzy was so lovable and funny, even in the face of danger. That is hard to find in a heroine and I loved it. She is also well rounded and strong willed, she has a good head on her shoulder and is not the type to make rash decisions. I liked everything about the book and intend on reading more in this new, fresh, exciting, fun series.

Y/A, Adult and fantasy readers should enjoy See How She Runs

This book is everything you could want. I started reading and just couldn't put it down!
I wish I had read it sooner, but the good news is... I have more books to dive into!
We first meet Izzy as she is working as a bike messenger and she is none to happy with one of her deliveries.
Izzy goes home and grumbles to her friend and roommate Kennan... and before she knows it... she is drugged, kidnapped and on the run!!! She learns that she is a Seer and that her life is no longer just her own.
Izzy has a lot of tough choices to make, and she feels she is rarely making the right ones.
I could relate completely to Izzy and her feelings of loss, and she really does make her choices based on her love for others. Izzy is a strong and realistic lead. It was so much fun to start following her her journey!!
See How She Runs, will have you laughing, and crying and loving along with the characters just as I did!
Michelle Graves has such a way with writing, I felt every little nuance of the story and I was sad to see the last page arrive!!!
Now onto Book Two!!!

What an impressive first book by a brand spanking new author. I read hundreds of books a year. This is by far one of the best stories I have read in a long time. With strong, sexy characters that you would want to befriend and an amazing plot line full of twists and turns, you won't want to put this book down. Izzy is the kind of girl that you want to call your friend. Keenan is the kind of guy that you would want to be MORE than friends with. He's super dreamy. Make sure you set aside plenty of time when you pick this up. It's a read in one sitting kind of novel. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for us.

I was lucky enough to be one of Michelle's Beta readers and all i can say is WOW, you will be blown away.
i read a huge amount of books and i find (for me) its rare to find an author who can really really make you feel so involved in the story that when it ends you feel empty inside. Well Michelle does this.
i cannot express how much i enjoyed reading this book and how excited i am for more in the series.

if you love hot, sweet but strong leading men, funny, sassy and strong ladies and an adventure full of love, laughter and quirky sayings then you will LOVE this book.

I was smiling through most of this book.. humorous comes to mind.
This story is about Izzy who lives in Chicago. She has a roommate Kennan who she met at a local bar and became friends. Nothing wrong with a male roommate right? ;) She's a bike messenger and in that alone the suspense comes alive especially after a stop at Xavier Xander's business. Fantasy came alive and was not expecting that.. so definitely kept my attention.. she's on the run.. and her roommate is her protecter. You will love this.

I found the characters engaging, the story refreshing and am looking forward to more. My main criticism is that I found many of the interesting character relationships slightly underdeveloped. I can't wait to see how they evolve in the future! With characters as entertaining as these, the possibilities are endless.

Epic Might Be Too Small A Description For This Series! **Note: this review is for the whole series, not just the first book**

Holy Smokes!! From the prequel to the final book this box set is amazing! This box set is Ebook swiping madness, book hangover worthy and I totally have no time to socialize cause I MUST finish this series! From the beginning I was hooked on the characters, but like a true nerd, I was hooked by the author's usage of vocabulary. You'd think for most authors vocabulary would be a no brainier, but I find most books lacking in colorful and stimulating vocab, which is not the case in these books. Michelle Graves knows how to write and it's awesome!

The stories are all centered around the protagonist Izzy Boone, who is introduced as a bike messenger in Chicago. She heads to the local bar that's been calling to her, in hopes of gaining a social life. It's there Izzy meets Kennan O'Malley, or K.O. who becomes her insta best friend. It's only later that Izzy finds her life and the world she lives in is not at all what it seems including her new BFF. Turns out Izzy is a Seer, a special woman gifted with looking into dreams of the future to see what is to come and help those they can. Just trying to swallow that knowledge alone, Izzy then finds out she's not just any Seer but may be more including the One. Luckily for Izzy she has her Guardian Kennan and some friends who aid her in the fight against the darkness and help pull her through the darkest times. The only question is will Izzy survive what she must do to save all whom she loves?

Overall, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Seriously loved this author after reading the first few pages and she was using, as my sister puts it, big vocab words. The story beautiful flowed and grew from chapter to chapter. Izzy is a great example of a modern female heroine, her faults are there but few and not annoying. Oh and the men in the story, super happy to report they may be overbearing at times but they are so not all alpha male, which makes me love them. The fact that Izzy doesn't let them get away with crap and then calls them on it each time even calling them stupid heads makes me love the characters all the more. Michelle Graves crafted a dangerous and mystic tale with light hearted moments, love and devotion to make a wonderful story spanning over 4 books a few novellas. So if you are looking for a great female heroine, who doesn't have a manual to her destiny, but will do whatever it takes to make the world right with the help of her friends and loved ones, then this box set is perfect. Plus at the price right now, what's not to love?

SEE HOW SHE RUNS is the first storyline in Michelle Graves's-The Chronicles of Izzy-Urban Fantasy series. The series focuses on twenty-five year old Izzy-a Seer-who has recently discovered that she is special. With the members of the Corporation tracking all of her movements, it will take an impassioned Guardian named Kennan to pull Izzy from the edge of oblivion as she struggles with realistic dreams, nightmares and the evil that threatens to destroy them all. Izzy is one of the most powerful Seers and the Corporation have plans to use Izzy for their own gain.

Kennan is a Izzy's Guardian. There is only one Seer for each Guardian and Izzy is Kennan's. But Kennan's feelings for Izzy go beyond Guardian and Seer, and he has known all of Izzy's life that there would be no one else in his heart. But it may take some convincing to prove that his intentions are honorable towards Izzy especially when he has been hiding the truth about her parents, her powers and his real identity.

The relationship between Kennan and Izzy began at Izzy's birth but circumstances required that Kennan keep his distance. But as Izzy approached her twenty fifth birthday, Kennan was pulled towards Izzy and his ultimate destination. What begins as a friendship, soon becomes Guardian and protector and eventually soul-mates and love. The building of their relationship spans most of the storyline and culminates in the final chapters of the novel.

We are introduced to Ian-a fellow Guardian- and someone with questionable fashion sense but someone who is willing to die to protect Izzy as well. And Ian may have found his Seer-the one who will 'belong' to him.

Much of the storyline premise is revealed through dream sequences, flashbacks, recalled memories and nightmares. As a Seer, Izzy is able to see the future but she is also able to see the past-and it is her dreams that the most revealing information will be told.

Michelle Graves pulls the reader into a fascinating world of Seers and Guardians; dream walkers and nightmares; betrayal and revenge. The love between a Guardian and his charge develops through their intimate physical and psychic connection, but may also be present before the Seer is born. And in this, Kennan has waited over one thousand years and waiting another twenty five years will bring the Seer to her Guardian but not necessarily a HEA-but a happy for now. Evil does not give up control-even your dreams and no longer safe from attack.

See How She Runs was a really good introduction to the ‘Chronicles of Izzy’.
In this story we meet Izzy, a bike messenger, she’s 24 nearly 25, lives with her best friend – Kennan – who works in a bar and happens to be male. Izzy is just going about her usual business when she is asked to deliver a letter to the head of a corporation, upon delivery she gets really bad vibes from the man and tells her boss that she won’t deliver to him anymore. When she tells Kennan about this man, he gets angry but when the man apparently bumps into her and asks her on a date….Kennan packs her bags because Izzy is about to find out that her whole life has been a lie and that man from the corporation wants her, for her abilities?!? Izzy is in for a quick study as she finds out she is a Seer and that Kennan is in fact her Guardian and with the corporation after her, she has no other choice but to run.
I really enjoyed this book, I thought Izzy was a great character and had a great voice that you could easily connect with, she dealt with things with humour and even though her world was changing so much, she never pitied herself or her situation. Kennan was perfect for her and they created some hot sexual tension in a will they, won’t they romantic scenario that brought some sweetness to the plot as Izzy tries to come to terms with seeing her friend in a different light and Kennan battling between his feelings for Izzy and his obligation to her.
The storyline was good, the premise is that Izzy is a Seer (something she was unaware of) and each Seer comes with a Guardian who can be hundreds of years old before he finds his Seer, Kennan happens to be Izzys Guardian. The corporation is the bad side of the Seer/Guardian lifestyle where they would capture a Seer and use her for profit, so you can understand the need for Izzy to run. This book focuses on Izzy finding out about the world she is really from and who people are around her, who the enemy is, how they operate and of course her training in her powers and how to defend herself with just that smidge of romance. I found it intriguing, Seers aren’t that popular in books so I found it a nice change from the norm and I enjoyed immersing myself in their world and will be reading book 2 very soon.

*ARC copy received for honest review*

For the most part, Izzy Boone has a normal life. She spends her days working as a bicycle messenger and her nights hanging at a bar with her roommate and bar manager, Kennan O'Malley. From the outside, Izzy is like any other 24 year old woman. She’s just trying to make it in the world. On the inside, she is riddled with loss and hurt. Everyone dearest to her is gone, her parents, her Grams, but Izzy maintains an optimism that is unscathed. She has a wild imagination and an a wit about her that simply draws the reader in. On the eve of her 25th birthday, Izzy's world is turned upside down. She is given an assignment that leads her to a strange, yet handsome man, Xavier. Something about this man completely unnerves her, and when he shows up at the most impromptu time, her roommate loses his cool. From there, Izzy discovers she is a member of a rare race of Seers, who have unique abilities, and Keenan is her Guardian, deemed to protect her at all cost. An intricate world evolves around Izzy and Keenan, as they train her in her new found abilities, while trying to hide her from the evil Corporation who wishes to use her power for greed.

This story is gripping. Izzy's snarky personality is delightful. You can’t help but laugh at her wit. For someone who has seen so much loss in her life, her optimism is inspiring. Then there is loyal, devoted Kennan -- hubba bubba! There are two sides of this man that the author reveals, and I must say, I loved them both. I’m not one for spoilers. With that said, I will tell you that we learn so much through Izzy's dreams and nightmares about who she is, her past, and her future. I was really intrigued by Ms. Graves use of Druid/Celtic history as a backstory for the series. It was a nice touch. There are so many twists and turns, that it's almost impossible to put this book down. Secret worlds, family members warring against one another, interesting characters, and a deep connection between the hero/heroine are a few things you will discover in this story.

My opinion, if you're a fan of Twilight and The Mortal Instruments, you will LOVE this book.

( Although I received this for review my review is still 100% honest.)

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this book because it was well worth it. See How She Runs pulls you into its storyline pretty fast. Then not to long after the plot twists begin, let me say that I was not expecting any of them.

The main character for this book is named Izzy. She is a bike messenger in the city of Chicago, who lives with her attractive roommate Kennan. Soon enough though she finds outs that she is a seer and her life turns upside down. I really loved Izzy, I thought that she was very clever with a lot of her smart comebacks. She is also very strong, mentally, and brave for what she goes though within this book.

Kennan is the main male character within the book, who I was very surprised by. He works in a bar in Chicago and seems to be Izzy's best friend. The only thing is he hides secrets that takes Izzy some time to figure out. I found his character to be confusing at first but then I was rather intrigued by him. I feel like he really cares about Izzy and would do anything to protect her. He is really sweet with Izzy, but they had a lot of conflicting moments through out the book.

A character who I really enjoyed in the book was Ian. He pops up later in the story and is one of Kennan's friends. I found that he was a lot of the comedy relief through out the drama between Kennan and Izzy. I think that his character really helped the book move along with the story. I found myself laughing out loud with a lot of Ian based events.

I was really not disappointed with this read. It was very unpredictable where I was shocked within each of its turns. I found this to be a quick and fun read, it was really descriptive and easy to read. I wasn't confused at all while reading this book just curious with the choices certain characters made. I would say this is a really good read and not a time waster. If you think you are interested in the storyline I would recommend reading it because you wont regret it. I diffidently want to see what will happen next in this series.

The Characters

We’re introduce to the main characters Izzy and Kennan.

Izzy is a young adult with an independent spirit. She’s grown quickly in her life at the result of the loss of her family. We get to see a very fun loving Izzy in the beginning. Izzy overall is very well rounded. She provides relatable qualities and keeps the story creative.

Kennan is Izzy’s roommate and friend. He’ll probably end up being your next book boyfriend (Sure Izzy wouldn’t mind sharing) He’s got a huge heart and a nice sense of humor. He’s defiantly someone you want to know. He looks out for Izzy but keeps his feelings hidden. Kennan harbors dark secrets that reveal a world to Izzy she never knew. Things take turns for the worst as Izzy winds up in a dangerous position.

Ian a secondary character who comes along later on with Xaxier and Molly is likely one of my favorites. He’s full of humor and jokes but I think there’s a whole lot more to him Michelle has yet to reveal. I cannot wait to know his back-story and get to see his interactions with the other characters.

Opinion & recommendation

I suggest reading this book. Michelle provided a wonderful first installment in this future series. We really get to see the characters grow and spend a lot of time with them before the action rockets us to the finishing line. Michelle was able to keep things clam, fun and advance the story. Something I found very neat.

The letters we get to read in the story from a character was a lovely touch. It offered a lot of insight and smiles. I enjoyed those little bits a lot and seeing the love in those letters brought tons of warmth into my heart.

I’m very thankful to have received this book for an honest review because I am dying to read book 2 and 3. (Hurry up Michelle!) haha. I truly am pleased with the entire story and the twists at the end. This book was a delightful read that takes you from one reality to another. It allows you to dive in and feel a part of the story.
Congrats Michelle Graves!

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Life is pretty normal for Izzy Boone, go to work as bike messenger, hang out with her roommate and best friend Kennan, sleep, and repeat. But with her 25th birthday and a fateful delivery, Izzy is suddenly thrust into the mystical world of Seers and Guardians fighting the evil of the Corporation. In order to protect and train Izzy as she comes into her powers, Kennan takes her away from Chicago and into the secluded wilderness.

I enjoyed the unique world created by Michelle Graves which we learn about as Izzy does, in dreams, nightmares, and revelations by the Guardians. I was fascinated by the history of the Seers and Guardians and it’s roots in Celtic Druidry. See How She Runs is pretty action packed, which keeps the pages turning. I also really enjoyed seeing Izzy and Kennan fight their attraction to each other. There’s also a great mix of intrigue and betrayal to keep you guessing about what was going to happen next.

The characters are great. Izzy is spunky, snarky, and able to quickly adapt to the changes thrust upon her. Kennan is loyal, protective, and pretty darn sexy. I have to admit that my favorite is a secondary character, Ian. He’s Kennan’s friend and fellow guardian who helps with Izzy’s training. He’s fashion challenged, funny, and keeps a smile on my face whenever he’s on the page.

When I first read the book, the grammar while correct, read a bit stiff. Since that time however, the author has reedited See How She Runs and it now reads much smoother. See How She Runs is a good start to a new Urban Fantasy series and I’m looking forward to seeing how the world and characters develop in future installments.

Actual Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

I was so ready to read this from the moment I read the synopsis, and it does not do it justice. I love some humor in a book, no matter what it's about I want it at times to make me laugh. For example, The Fault in Our Stars made me cry my eyes out, but it still made me laugh some too. So, I was happy to find that See How She Runs has lots of sarcasm/snark mixed right on in as I felt like it made the characters more real to me. So, for starters, that was one of my favorite parts of the book.

I love the pace that this book took on, it all seemed to flow together really well which, of course, sweeps you into the book so much more. The characters were pretty much all, for lack of a better word, awesome. I found myself so lost in Izzy's world that sometimes I had to remind myself to come up for air... and laundry. Darn laundry. I definitely recommend this book if you're looking for something a little bit different than your run of the mill paranormal book since it's been a long time since I've read something with a seer in it, so it was like a breath of fresh for me. I love the fact that Izzy was seriously an awesome heroine, love when authors make their female characters independent! Oh, and there's one more reason for you to read this book-- Kennan. Just... yeah, that's all I have to say. You will so fall in love with that dude. So, if you're looking for your next world to get swept into, I highly recommend you jump head first into this one.
At the time I'm writing this post(5/5/14) See How She Runs is currently free on Amazon so what have you got to lose?
*I received this book for review from the author, but this in no way affected my thoughts as expressed in this review.*

"See How She Runs" is an interesting little tale about a package delivery person named Izzy Boone. Izzy has experienced many setbacks in her life including the death's of her parents and grandmother. She make a living delivering packages on a bike and supplements her property taxes by renting out a room to bartender, Kennan.

After making a delivery to a new client she suddenly feels creeped out recipient of the package, Xavier. Although he boss promises she will not have to deliver to him again unless absolutely necessary, she continues to feel uneasy. When she shares her experience with Kennan he drugs her and takes her away to a cabin in the mountain.

Soon, Kennan reveals to Izzy that she is a powerful seer who will be coming into her powers at her upcoming 25th birthday. Additionally, she has the ability to see the future, change it at times, communicate with the mother she long ago thought was dead. She also discovers that Kennan is her guardian and bound to protect her.

Keenan and his friend, Ian, teach Izzy how to block her mind from the enemy and navigate the visions; but, Izzy will also need to navigate her ever growing feelings for Kennan. There are so many secrets and plots afoot in this book and Izzy's snarky humor really made this a good read for me; so, why didn't I give the book 5 stars?

While "See How She Runs" is an enjoying read it is not an exceptional read. The writing is good but the action, plot and world building is just okay. Even the romance was just okay, not smokin' hot. At this point I am not sure whether or not I will be going on with the series. Check it out for yourself and decide.

This is one of those book series you wonder why on god’s green earth you are so late on the game to starting. Author Michelle Grave’s lead heroine Izzy has got to be hands down one of my favorite characters of all time. This story is woven around Izzy coming into her true destiny at the age of twenty-five and what that world entails.

Izzy puts the word sass is sassy. This girl takes no bull from anyone. And her inner monolog is priceless! She has to come into realization that the world she thought she knew was indeed fabricated to keep her safe. You would think that would scare her away but it doesn’t. She thinks everything happens for a reason and rolls with the punches. Her true calling as a seer has placed her on a most wanted list by many evil people. She needs to understand her ability so she can protect the innocent from the evil villains of the world.

I absolutely loved reading this story though Izzy’s eyes.

Keenan has been Izzy’s best friend for two years. Or that’s what she thought. Keenan is a very old soul who has been around for a very long time. He’s a smooth talker with the ladies and eventually Izzy starts to notice. He’s pretty darn HOT! Watching Keenan fight the desire he fills for Izzy drove me nuts! He knows he must protect her and wants to stay true to who he is. But these two are destined to be a power couple in my eyes.

Watching these two try and fight the pull they both had for one another was fantastic. Author Michelle Graves did a great job with keeping her characters on target. And Izzy’s inner ramblings when Keenan shuts her down are priceless. This girl has a way with words.

After reading the prequel and the first chapter of this story, I could not wait to read the book. I was fortunate enough to read an ARC copy and fell in love immediately. First off, let me just say that I want to be the main character’s friend. Izzy is strong, yet vulnerable; tough, yet loving; smart, yet quirky. And funny? OMGosh…she had me cracking up! I empathized with Izzy instantaneously and couldn’t wait to see how her story would flesh out.

Speaking of friends, let me introduce Kennan, Izzy’s roommate/best friend/major hottie with a heart of gold. I won’t ruin any surprises (and there are many) by posting any spoilers, so you’ll have to read the book to find out more about Kennan. He’s not the only sexy man in Izzy’s life though. Enter Ian. Oh, Ian!!! What can I say about him except that he is a freaking hoot! He’s gorgeous, funny, sweet and oh yeah…a snappy dresser. Or maybe you could deem his dress code as a fashion disaster. That depends on who you’re asking. Ha!

Michelle has written a fabulous debut novel. Her ability to develop relatable characters and bring their stories to life is both refreshing and entertaining. She was able to surprise me, make me laugh out loud, hold me in suspense and choke me up with emotion. This was not a book that took chapters and chapters to grab me. I was hooked from the beginning and am still hanging on. I cannot wait to see where Izzy’s story will lead, but I know one thing for sure…It will be an awesome journey! 5 well-deserved stars!!!

There were things I liked about this book and things I was left scratching my head over. While the good definitely outweighed the head scratching moments, they were present and they took me out of the story a bit.

I liked the overall story and the mythology of the Seers and Guardians. In fact, the mythology was very cool and kept the story moving. My biggest issue came from the idea that if someone was keeping an eye on Izzy the whole time and they knew who she was, why wasn't she exposed earlier? They knew what she was capable of, why not hand her over the first chance they got?

Frankly, I got tangled up thinking about that and about the betrayal/betrayer and got sucked out of the story.

I liked Kennan for the most part. I don't think he was particularly right in keeping the truth about Izzy's heritage from her, especially when he could see the signs coming, and he's not the best at explaining things until after the fact, but he was a good guy. I wasn't enamored of Ian when he first flailed his way on page. BUT... I can see how Izzy needed someone around who was a little less intense than Kennan.

As for Izzy, she doesn't always make the smartest choices, but she isn't willing to sit back and do nothing. And that matters.

Enjoyable for the most part, I just got hung up on betrayals and inept minions. Which could be an entirely me-thing, I'll admit.

This book was so deliciously funny! I just adored Izzy's character even though she absolutely sucks at trash talking! Hearing her swear is like listening to a first grader...'stupid-head'...hilarious! She just kind of rolled with the punches, sometimes literally, but she was very tough and courageous. Sure she did something monumentally stupid trying to save the people she loved but her heart was in the right place.

I really enjoyed Ian and Molly's characters and I hope their story is at least interwoven within the next few book in this series as I would love to read more about Ian's amazing fashion sense..lol!

I gave the book four stars when it could have received five because the climax of the book was rather anti-climatic...I was very disappointed in how fast everything happened. Its like Ms. Graves went through so much trouble to give us a detailed history on Guardians and Seers but then gets tired and just rushed the ending...I was expecting more of a fight between Kennan and Xavier...very sad the way things happened instead...sighs...

Overall it was a very good and interesting read, no cuss words and no sexual scenes at all...everything is implied not detailed in any way, so its safe to read for all you prudes who constantly complain about sex in books!

FYI: Ends on a slight cliffhanger...so be prepared to buy the next book in the series...

Who doesn't love a headstrong bicycle messenger who has to uncover a hidden past before a lunatic kills her? I know I do!

This book was a lot of fun to read and offered an interesting take on the paranormal world. The history behind Izzy is refreshing and the story had an abundance of spunky characters to make it a page turner.
Izzy and Kennan were a cute couple and their growth as a couple kept me hooked to the end. But! There wasn't much passion. I mean, it was written that she felt passionate about Kennan and he certainly growled when appropriate (which is always nice…and hot), but I couldn't feel any real physical tension between them. And the love scene kind of disappointed me. After all of that verbal buildup, I was hoping for a bit more.

Even though I liked every single character in the book, I didn't feel a particular pull to one of them. They were all equally dynamic, so I didn't necessarily have a favorite. I will say that I hope Ian gets his own book, because he was fantastic! Kudos to Graves for writing such a funny character!

See How She Runs has lots of action, entertaining snark from all parties involved, and a rich world full of magic. What’s not to love?

Jeanne's Review:
Izzy Boone has a normal life for the most part. She spends her days working a bicycle messenger and her nights hanging at a bar with her roommate, Keenan O'Malley. Her past is full of loss - her parents and her Grams, but Izzy maintains an optimism that is unscathed. On the eve of her 25th birthday, Izzy's world is turned upside down. She discovers she is a member of a rare race of Seers, who have unique abilities, and Keenan is her Guardian, deemed to protect her at all cost. An intricate world evolves around Izzy and Keenan, as they train Izzy in her abilities, and hide her from the evil Corporation who wishes to use her power for greed.

This story is gripping. Izzy's snarky personality is delightful, and loyal, devoted Keenan, hubba bubba! We learn so much through Izzy's dreams and nightmares, and I was really intrigued by Ms. Graves use of Druid/Celtic history. There are so many twist an turns, that it's almost impossible to put this book down. Secret worlds, family members warring against one another, interesting characters and a deep connection between the hero/heroine are a few things you will discover in this story. If you're a fan of Twilight and The Mortal Instruments, you will love this book.

I rate this book at: 4 honey pots

After writing my progress update, I sat down to read more of See How She Runs, and inhaled it in one sitting! While the first several chapters concentrate on story building, character and relationship development, the rest of the book is action packed.

All of Michelle Graves characters are extremely well developed and they bring their own personalities to the party. We watch Izzy grow into a much stronger woman throughout the book as she is tested at each twist and turn. She is cute and quirky but don't mistake these qualities as weaknesses. Kennan is not the boy next door by any means! He is hot and sexy but possesses both the intelligence and humor that is often lacking in leading men in modern novels.

Izzy's relationship with her mother was the most emotional aspect of the story for me. Every time this relationship was featured in the story I felt as if it was authentically portrayed and it truly resonated for me. I did not expect the plot twists that occurred in this book whatsoever and really enjoyed watching the story evolve! I literally cannot wait for the next installment of Izzy's story.
