Katha Ithuvare by Babu Paul is my favorite service story ever.

This book tells us about the journey of Babu Paul to become an IAS officer and his service life after that.

Everything written in it will be an inspiring factor for you to perform better in your life. There are many important messages written by the author for the future civil servants in it.

The internal and external tug of war in the bureaucracy and the friendship and fight between IAS officers and the politicians are perfectly conveyed by the author.

If you are unfamiliar with the author's previous books, you are in for a treat. You will be mesmerized by the author's prowess in analyzing social and political situations with surgical precision and his ability to give the best solutions to the problems. This is a book that you should never miss if you are a bureaucrat or are aiming to crack the civil services exam.

An excellent service story. Well written. But use of language is little hard. I liked it. Language is very good but little bit hard as he uses the correct use of old or rather real malayalam language. The religious concepts or rather his beliefs he is pointing out is really exemplary as it is an integrated approach to every religion and customs with necessary slaps to unwanted beliefs. In some areas his deep knowledge is clearly overwhelming to a present day reader. I suggest this as a must read for every Keralites.
And surely a thousand salutes to you, Babu Paul Sir, for such a work. Thank you.

ജൂനിയർ എൻജിനീയറായി ഗവൺമെന്റ് സർവ്വീസിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച് പിന്നീട് സിവിൽ സർവ്വീസ് നേടി ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറിയുടെ പദവിയിൽ വരെ എത്തിയ ഡി. ബാബു പോളിന്റെ ആത്മകഥയാണിത്. ഔദ്യോഗികജീവിതത്തിലെ കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് ഇതിൽ കൂടുതലും കാണാൻ കഴിയുക. വല്ലാർപാടം പദ്ധതിക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ച കൊച്ചിൻ പോർട്ട് ട്രസ്റ്റിലെ ചെയർമാൻ പദവി, എഴുത്തച്ഛൻ പുരസ്‌കാരത്തിനും തുടക്കമായ സാംസ്‌കാരിക വകുപ്പിലെ സെക്രട്ടറി പദവി, വിവിധ ജില്ലകളിലെ കളക്ടർ പദവി എന്നിവ അലങ്കരിച്ചു. 1962 മുതൽ 2001 വരെയുള്ള കേരളത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ചില ഉൾപോരുകൾ ഇതിൽ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. തുടക്കത്തിൽ വ്യക്തിജീവിതത്തെ പറ്റി ഒരു ചെറിയ രൂപരേഖ നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
