Tommy and Tuppence are two of my favorite characters of all time. I'm on a "reread" kick of their adventures, narrated by Hugh Fraser. I forgot how much I loved their disparate methods of thinking and "deducing." I love that neither one is always right or always wrong. Tuppence isn't superior simply because she's a woman, but neither is Tommy because he's a man. They have their own strengths and weaknesses and the combination of those creates just enough mistakes and successes to keep the reader engaged.
This duo, in particular, delighted me because they were both very similar and very different stories. The similarity makes their ability to catch the second suspect reasonable while their differences ensure you don't feel like you're reading the same story all over again.
I also love how Christie acknowledges that romance is a part of life and gives it a page in her story, but she doesn't muddle the primary story with unnecessary relational details. We get what we need when we need it so that the romantic portions actually move the story forward rather than serve as frosting on a cake, so to speak.
Note: I would not read/listen to the books in this order. After The Secret Adversary, I would listen/read Partners in Crime next. Just sayin'...

Tommy and Tuppence have long been favorites since my teenage years. They are a lighthearted pair of engaging amateurs who thwart some of the ruthless, clever underworld or enemy agents in four full-length novels and the Partners in Crime short story collection.
This pair of books is the first and second in the series and narrated by the talented Hugh Fraser.
I listened to The Secret Adversary a while ago and it held strong as a re-read years later. I love this young effervescent pair who followed their instincts and root out a criminal mastermind in the WWI era. And, most recently, I finished up with N 0r M when Agatha Christie revisits this, now middle-aged, husband and wife pair with some spy work on the eve of WWII nosing out secret Nazi sympathizers ready to betray their English homeland hiding out at a seaside boarding house.
These are lighthearted in tone even when the chips are down though I appreciated seeing how age has added a layer of understanding and maturity, but not a willingness to be brushed aside as 'too old' to serve. I felt the spies were easy to figure out and the focus was more on seeing how Tommy and Tuppence worked it out and exposed them.
Hugh Fraser is great for the voices of both and the rest of the cast. He caught the nuances of humor and tone for each scene so well.
A stellar pair of listens.

OMG, why did I wait so long to read this series?
I love the characters, so much humor, and great spy story plots.
First, I didn't understand why this bundle came with vol 1 and 3 from the series, but then it made sense. I'm not going to explain, to avoid spoilers.
An extra treat is the narrator is the awesome Hugh Fraser.
