Woods :What Lies Beyond the For nearly 400 years, the Veil has protected us from the Fae of Alfheimr. In their absence, our lives have shifted from decadence and sin to survival and virtue under the guidance of the New Gods. I’ve spent my entire life tending to the gardens next to the boundary between our worlds, drawn to the shimmering magic like a moth to the flame. What Hunts Inside the For weeks, he stood by my side, twisting his words into pretty half-truths. He enraptured me with his smooth temptation, leaving no corner of my being untouched. He consumed my mind and my body, then finally claimed my heart for himself. But Caelum’s true identity is terrifying enough to bring me to my knees. What Lurks Between the For weeks, we retraced our steps back to Mistfell and the lingering shadow of the Veil at the boundary between realms. Traveling through the kingdom, I denied the evidence in front of me, unable to fathom that I wasn't the lost princess of Faerie. Instead, it is Fallon who must fear the consequences of her heritage. Which leaves me with a single, unanswered question.
The whole read, I was on edge and I couldn’t get enough; so much so I read all of them back to back because I needed answers. This series has great world building and amazing character development; I especially loved the banter, and the steam. These all had my favorite tropes, and I can’t stress how much I absolutely enjoyed this series. I will definitely be rereading these books while I wait for the 4th book coming soon.

okay, where do i even start... id like to preface by saying that by the third book of flesh & bone, i was enjoying it so much that i was sulking when i hit that last cliffhanger... so needless to say i enjoyed the read but simultaneuosly a couple of things were extremely predictable especially in book one and only towards the end of book two and start of book three, does the plot twists start slightly differing from acotar... yes i said it, the similarities for me, were very apparent (now, not saying its a bad nor good thing, but they were there) and i have to state them somewhere... its basically slightly different acotar with more spice throughout....
*** SPOILERS ***
okay so small world building details, - humans seperated from fae by veil (described as a misty magickal veil) as opposed to acotar a wall .. - both in acotar and flesh&bone, the fae country are divided by courts of seasons and the difference in this its added a greek mythology element of tartarus, ferrymen and theirs gods... but so far theyve been in court of shadows... - fae marks appear ftom neck to wrist in both - mates share powers - both fmcs go from being trapped to wanting to fight for their freedom.. struggling with identity and their darkness within... - caelum and rhys are so similar... rhys trapped to do aramanthas bidding where caelum is the same for mab... where aramantha controls with power, mab controls with her snakes around her slaves hearts... both "whored out" slight difference is rhys is with ara but caldris with anyone but mab... - feyre kills the big worm in the pit of tunnels whereas estrella kills the minotar in thelabyrith. - feyre shows kindness to the water fae at tithe, estrella shows kindness by giving a strip of her dress as blanket for a little creature that her mate advised not to dyring preparations of their tithe... - aramantha has a ring with julian... and mab has a cursed crown with a woman we dont yet know who it is)
id say the only big difference besides the type of writting and the way the story is told and the type creatures that appear is the fact that in book 1 of acotar, aramantha was defeated.
overall id describe it as a spicier acotar with the same premises of the first book, except aramantha wasnt defeated..that being said, by the end of the third flesh and bone im sitting at the edge waiting to know what lies in the cove...also why do i get the weird impression that her real father is the father, how funny would that be, the daughter of the mother and father.. get it? XD its either that or shes the daughter of khaos somehow... that being said im happy for both my theories to be incorrect and me being surprised in the end... who knows? ;)
I listened to the audio version. It was well performed. I was able to speed it up to 1.25 after the first chapter. Here’s the two star explanation with a spoiler alert. I’m so tired of the female character vs. female character trope. That trope was rampant throughout this mystery suspense plot line. There were too many unnecessary leads to false end results; it could’ve been a lot shorter and had some powerful page turner moments. The false leads dragged it on three too many false leads. And I’m sorry - the end was a disappointing, unconvincing discovery on the ‘who-dun-it’. For me, it caused an 🙄

Ms Woods knows how to keep a reader on edge. Throughout the entire three books I've been shocked awed and devastated. And the ending of what lurks between the fates ended on such a cliffhanger I threw my phone by the ending keep it up this series is 10000% worth it
These were AWFUL! She’s better than Maas at least but these are some weak ass characters. It feels like the author is trying to understand her religious trauma and took us for a ride instead of her therapist.
OBSESSED!!!!!!! I couldn't read these fast enough. I bought the book and then couldn't make it through the day and had to get the audio books so I could binge all day.
There is way too much character building and unneeded information. The best part of the book was the last chapter which of course is a cliff hanger. It took me way too long to get there
Absolutely nothing happens in this series. Boy meets girl in a barn. They hike through the wilderness for 3 books until they get to castle. Then absolutely nothing happens. Nothing. I DNF’d in the third book.
