Twisted Arrangement 3

Rate this book
Emma always knew there would be big trouble if handsome Hollywood mega-producer Josh Owens ever figured out that she was the one who robbed him. She’d just never anticipated this particular kind of trouble. The matrimonial kind. Faced with the prospect of going to jail along side her brother, Emma has no choice but to consider Josh’s outlandish proposal.

Josh is determined to see his movie gets made right, and having the lovely, and talented, Emma in his debt plays right into his plans. A-list actor William Ransler thinks Josh needs a wife, so that’s just what he’ll get. In the form of one sexy, duplicitous party planner.

With the proof of her theft hanging over her head, Josh makes playing the part of his wife the price of Emma’s freedom. But their headlong rush to the artificial altar is fraught with complications. Will Emma be able to fake feelings for Josh without falling for real? Can they pull off being a couple convincingly enough to fool not only Ransler, but the rest of the world? And what, exactly, is the perfect color for phony bridesmaids to wear?

This third installment of the Twisted series features awkward family conversations, naughty gift bags, and plenty of steam!

Genre: New Adult Contemporary
This story unfolds over 4 volumes approximately 30,000 words each.

Excerpt:

Clarice spun the book around and shoved it at Emma. Emma blinked at the page for several seconds before the shapes resolved themselves into an image. An image of a woman in a wedding gown, to be precise. “It’s lovely.”

The dress was beautiful, with a classic silhouette and about a yard of skirt, what was commonly called a cathedral train. The smooth, heavy satin was a creamy ivory. A swirled appliqué of seed pearls wound around the mode’s slender torso, just beneath her breasts. It was sleeveless, with a high square neck. Very demure, and yet somehow lush and sexy at the same time.

Emma had never really been the type to plan her dream wedding, growing up. Or rather, she had, but just like the dreams about how her parents would turn out to really be alive, she’d stuffed the ideas firmly away when she got older.

Looking at this dress made all those girlhood fantasies rush back. Her breath snagged in her throat. “Very lovely.” She touched gentle fingers to the picture.

“That’s what you’ll wear. It will look fabulous on you. I’m thinking Hollywood cerise for the bridesmaids. Only two. And maybe a flower girl. Have you picked the venue yet?” Clarice was taking frantic notes on a piece of paper. Emma didn’t think she’d ever seen the older woman so animated.

“Oh, yes. Josh said there’s a church near Saint Helena.”

Clarice snapped. “I know it. Nice choice. Stone, beautiful rose window.” She drew ‘beautiful’ out into extra syllables. “You said soon. How soon?”

“Two weeks?” Emma chewed her lip. “I don’t know if we can really pull this all off. We have to get out invitations. And the dress...”

The older woman waved her off. “Nonsense. You make a general announcement in the media that it’ll be in two weeks and everyone will be clearing their schedule. No worries there. This is going to be the wedding of the year, Emma.” Emma’s stomach did a slow turn. Her ears rang. Clarice quirked a brow. “You going to answer that?”

Emma blinked and glanced down at her purse. Her cell phone rang again. She chuckled weakly as she lifted it to her ear. She didn’t even have to look at the display. “Hi... honey.” The words felt blocky on her lips.

“Admirable attempt, Miss Ness.” Josh’s chuckle was much more hearty than hers. “I take it you’ve got company?”

She flicked a quick glance at Clarice, but the CEO was flipping through pages of the style book. “You’re so clever, darling. That’s what I love about you.” Her stomach churned and twisted. Her body hummed, as if she’d had too much caffeine.

Josh sputtered. “That’s laying it on a bit thick, Emma. Are things going well with the illustrious Ms. Davenport?”

“She’s agreed to the time off, if that’s what you’re asking. We’re discussing invitations and color schemes at the moment.” Emma gritted her teeth in an effort to keep the smile on her face. What she really wanted to do was bend over and put her head between her knees. That’s what you did for dizziness, right?

Clarice pointed her pen at Emma without looking up. “Tell that handsome devil I want to see him in here tomorrow at... say, 11:30?”

“Oh,” Emma covered the receiver with her fingers. “I’m sure Josh doesn’t want to be a part of any–”

“Tell her I’ll be there,” he interrupted. “You only get fake married once, right?” He snorted.

“I sure hope so,” Emma grumbled. “I mean, are you sure? Sweetie?” She tacked the last bit on when Clarice gave her a raised brow. The older woman’s shrewd gaze was making her squirm. As if any minute Clarice would go ‘Aha! You’re faking it!’

On the other end of the line, she heard Josh speaking to Martin, but the words were too muffled for...

Mora Early

Mora Early was born and raised in a small town in the mountains. She was decidedly NOT a girly girl. As a child, she hated pink and the 'gushy' parts in movies. However, one day in her early teens she stumbled upon a romance novel left by the previous occupants of her new house. With all her books still packed away, she decided to give it a try. She had to have *something* to read, after all!

The rest, as they say, is history.

Now living in Savannah with her husband, her cat Cat, and her dog Willie (as in Shakespeare), Mora is writing full-time while trying not to wilt in the Georgia heat. On the upside, she says the humid atmosphere helps her write those steamy scenes easily!

Same thoughts

Same thoughts as the last book. Enjoying the story although I’m unsure as to why this wasn’t just one novel. Also, no page breaks between scenes.

Emma and Josh are planning their wedding and they get married in this book. The story moves right along. I just wish this could have been one book instead of 4 short stories. I hate that by the time I finished all the short stories I spent about $10.00! That is such a rip off and because of that I knocked it down a star. It ticks me off. So although I really enjoyed this story, I will most likely not be reading more from this author if all of her stories are like this.

FAVORITE QUOTE

"[...] Why are you marrying Josh?"

"Because I can't not marry him. Why are you the black sheep if you went to Stanford?" This rapidfire exchange was actually kind of fun. And she hadn't lied. Suzanne swigged the champagne again.

"I'm a Republican. What do you think of Josh's job."

Josh bent his head until his mouth hovered a breath away from her moist, parted lips.

"Well?" she whispered. "Are you going to kiss the bride?" Her lashes fluttered as she met his eyes, their locked gazes intense.

"I figured you were going to steal it before I could."

I'm a mom to a running, nap hating 18 month old boy. Last night I stayed up until 5am to finish a book I hated. Yes, I know that was completely insane and I assure you I paid dearly for it. Now I'm working on a few hours of sleep and I'm up doing this again. Why? Because I couldn't wait. I had to read every word and compaired to last night it was such a wonderful difference. I love Ms. Early's glib and wit that expresses itself in her characters. I'm not going to spoil anything, but say this... If the first two books were foreplay, this was an atomic blast kinda of climax and the series ain't over yet.

I hope in all honesty that she keeps writing, and that this does become a series of books. These are the kind of books I love to get lost in when I have a free minute, that's if my sweet boy ever gives me a minute lol. Thankfully his dad knows my love of reading and handles bedtime. Anyway, you have to read this, they keep getting better and better.

Go second book being about Ben and Crissy!! ;) even spelled right lol.

Well, it is finally here the 3rd and fina.....ha ha, just kidding, Twisted Arrangement 3 is NOT the final installment in the Twisted Arrangement series. Oh no, Mora Early and her publisher decided to make us wait even longer for the conclusion. However, the readers have not been left completely hanging. The tale of Josh and Emma continues as Emma meets Joshua's parents, begins planning for her pseudo wedding day and has to keep up the pretense of a happily engaged couple. All the while they both are dealing internally with feelings that they are having trouble putting into proper thought and words.

So the real juice comes with all of the sexual tension we readers have been being teased with over the past 2 Twisted books. All I will say is things heat up even more and there is a scene that will leave readers sated....at least for now. Yes, the scene is HOT, very sexual and erotic as hell, but it was well written. It is not pornographic or raunchy...it's tasteful.

Now, to wait for book 4. *sigh*

Emma and Josh are going through with it. Getting married under false pretenses never should take this much energy but they've got to convince so many ppl.

They may be walking into something fake but the sexual tension and frustrations are real. They want each other but know they have to draw a line to keep thing "professional". But that line is blurred and its becoming more.

In the 3rd installment things heat up but its all gonna bite them in the ass. Will it be worth it? Can they keep this farce up or will things crumble around them?

I love the "fake" relationship these 2 have. They click in every way possible, I just hope they see it before things blow up in their faces.

Cant wait to read the 4th installment to find out their destiny!
