The final book in the Midnight Series is here!

Pushed to the edge of darkness, Phoenix will find out who her true friends are in this exciting, frightening world she has now found herself so much more a part of than she ever would have chosen to be.

With the death of Vyco and everyone’s beloved Chastity, as well as the total annihilation of the West Coast of the United States, Phoenix has to come to terms with a brand new world. Does she choose to fight for the people, or should she save herself and those she loves most? And why would Josiah choose her to be the new savior of the world?

Johnathan has now aligned himself to the dark side, and Phoenix finds herself devastated as he sinks into the darkness with Jessica by his side. She’s never been without her brother, and now that he seems to be the new leader of the darkest forces, does she have no other choice other than to fight against the one she loves the most?

With Jayden, Sadie and Brian by her side – the only constants in her life, she will fight this evil that has overtaken her planet and she will either die trying or she will manage to save the world. Little does Phoenix know, though, that there’s more forces against her than in her corner.

Find out what decisions Phoenix chooses to make in this exciting conclusion to the “Rise of the Dark Angel” Series by New York Times best selling author Melody Anne, and co-written by break-out author Phoenix Lynn.

I am so disappointed by this last book.
1. Too much side stories. What worked in the 3rd book, was overkill in this book.
2. Phoenix was the chosen one to save the Earth. When and how? Most of the time she was scared shitless and was whining. The only thing that happened was she became immortal and she can fly or jump high? What else? The whole time she was relying on Jayden. Sadie was so much stronger and also used her power which I didn’t understand how/why she got this power to begin with. Sadie and Brian were supposed to help with the “Saving the Earth” thing but how come Sadie got powers but not Brian? I thought John played the bigger role in this ending. Where was the epic battle?
3. Johnathan turning bad. Really? He never killed anybody good. I remember only demons and 2 soldiers beating Allison. He was going to but was stopped by Phoenix or Sadie and Brian. The whole time he was only rampaging.
All in all, I wish I didn't reread and end the series. I felt I wasted my time. Considering I really enjoyed the first 3 books I was too curios to see where Phoenix' story was heading to not want to read the ending. Wish the story ran differently.

Enjoyed

I did enjoy the story except for the head hopping. It seemed that the conclusion was a life rushed. I typically re-read a whole series when I get around to finishing one, but I was only able to reread book1 due to the republished books no longer available on unlimited and I won't pay for a book that I am just skimming for a refresher on events. So I totally don't remember what kind of a person Devon was. But Jayden and Phoenix, grew as characters as did Sadie and Brian, and John and Chastity, they all deserve to be happy. I also wondered if this was leading to another series with John's purpose, cause that was never made clear?

This is book four in the Rise of the Dark Angel series!

As everyone is pushed towards the edge of darkness, Phoenix finds out who her true friends are now in this exciting but terrifying world. Phoenix has now found herself so much more.

With the death of the evil Vyco and everyone’s beloved sweet souled angel Chastity along with the total annihilation of the West Coast of the United States. Phoenix needs to come to terms with a brand new world that surrounds her. Does Pheonix choose to fight for the people and save them, or does she save herself and those people that Phoenix loves the most? Phoenix can't understand why would Josiah choose her to be the new savior of the world?

Jonathan has now aligned himself to the dark evil side. Phoenix finds herself devastated. Phoenix watches as he sinks into the darkness along with Jessica by his side. Phoenix’s never been without her brother by her side. Now that Jonathan seems to be the new leader of the darkest forces of evil, does Phoenix have any other choice. Other than to fight against the one person Phoenix loves the most?

With Jayden, Sadie and Brian by Phoenix's side and who are the only constants in her life. Phoenix will fight this evil that has overtaken her planet. Phoenix will either die trying or will Phoenix manage to save the world? Little does Phoenix know that there’s more forces against her than she knows that are in her corner.

I need more than 5 *s but again need to settle for 5. I'd recommend this author and all her books

How complicated to review a book when you get the fourth book and don't know about the three first ones!
Even to search for the other ones is tough, as it's called the Apocalypse 4 on my book, and on goodreads, it is Rise of the Dark Angel IV.
I understood a war is raging between good and evil. Why now? What do both sides want?
Half of the US has been destroyed. The rest of the world probably too, though obviously, the authors don't care about it. Jayden and Phoenix will get married and that piece of paper should be enough to make it a happy end.
I must admit I did not understand much...

Great end to the series.

Could use a good editor, but overall it was one of the better endings to a series that I've read in a long time.

An Okay, But Rushed Ending

This is a 3.5 star book.

For me this was just okay. The writing style was not the same as the first three books, and felt a little stiff. It also came across rushed, like it was written in a hurry, so the series could be ended. I feel a little cheated by the original author. Also the chapters were extremely short and John became Johnathan, why? That makes no sense.

Although I took off stars for several reasons, I still feel this was an acceptable ending. There were still some action packed scenes and nail biting moments. As well as some unexpected surprises. It does seem that everything was wrapped up with no lose ends. I just wish it wasn't done so quickly, this seemed like a short book compared to the other three.

If you have read the first three books in this series, I would still recommend reading this one, but just be prepared for so e differences.

I won't be reading any more of Melody Anne's books, since they are in a genre I can't stand. She did a great job on the first three books in this YA series.
