Greetings From My Sandy Dreams

Rate this book
Cherry Martinez has one last dream left to chase: to live at the beach. Her other cherished dreams haven’t come true, since one heartbreaking night ended her wedding plans and the career she initially believed she wanted only burdens her with stress and leaves her feeling unfulfilled. So, much to her family’s alarm, she does the unthinkable—she cashes in her savings, quits her job, and moves to a tropical seaside town on the Florida coast.

Realistically, living the life of a beach gypsy can’t last forever. Who cares? She’ll enjoy it as long as it lasts. Living in her bikini, shorts and flip-flops, she’s already become acclimated to a breezy bungalow home and the scent of the ocean in her hair. Crashing into her life like a wave on the shore is good-looking, blue-collar Gray Kelly, a guy with even bigger dreams than her own. Cherry might have run away from her old life, but apparently, love still knows where to find her in this lighthearted and romantic summer tale.

I'm an avid reader. Also an indie author who only publishes on Amazon. I get my Best Sellers from the library and rarely leave reviews. I pick my indie books off Amazon based on books with less than 100 reviews. I know exactly how important reviews are to Indie authors.

That being said I decided to give Connie Keenan's book Greetings from my Sandy Dreams a go. I was in search of a romance between 100 to 300 pages, under $2 and since I hate the traditional half naked male woman in an embrace romance book covers, although I don't mind that to be inside, I liked the cover.

Greetings from My Sandy Dreams was a quick read for me. It was engaging, nothing scintillating but I didn't expect it from Keenan is she appears to be a more of a Christian author. So for everyone looking for that genre there was nothing offensive, at least to me.The book was filled with dialogue and the setting was a South Florida beach. The premise, a young woman burned out with life heads off to a Florida Beach town to reset and meets the man of her dreams. Not a ton of angst but a little bit of life's dramas in the dating scene. The ending was happy, and isn't that what we all want in a romance?
