The sequel starts immediately where it left off in Dissidence, which I was happy about. I don’t mind when the author gives a quick overview of what previously happened, but sometimes the overview can be an entire chapter which gets pretty boring. Not with this sequel.

I don’t want to say too much of what happens in this book because there are surprises and revolutions that I do not want to take away from the reader.

Did I feel connected to the characters? I got really tired of Kaleigh’s snarky attitude in this book. I love when the heroine is strong and opinionated, but I get tired when opinions are somewhat negative about everyone and everything. I saw her compassion to help others and try to get peace and freedom for everyone and I admired that about her. However, I felt that at any minute if anyone said anything to her and it was something she did not like or agree with, she would have a “comment”. Kaleigh was a strong person to fight the way she did. I never questioned her loyalty to her friends and family.

Pace of the story? Very good

Positives: The twists. You never know who you can trust. There was lot to this story. I love Jamie Canosa’s writing style. The writing flowed. There was not dull moment in the book.

Negatives: Kaleigh’s attitude. Some may feel it shows her strength, I just did not care for it. I felt like nothing was going to make her happy. I am glad when one of the guy’s finally spoke up to her, but I think I lost my interest in her having any type of relationship with anyone at that point.

Do I recommend? This is a great dystopian story.

Bottom line: I think I would have enjoyed the second book more if Kaleigh’s attitude would have changed. She was a good person who helped and saved many people, but I just tired of her attitude. However, I want to end my review by saying that this is great dystopian story. It is worth the read. A lot happens and it is a great story.

Wow, this knocked my socks off, lol. I love this dystopoian series. This 2nd book does not disappoint at all. I was leary for awhile as so many dystopia books came out after the Divergent hype, but this was a good one. It has a bit of a Divergent feel with some Hunger Games (without the game to death that is) with the divided “camps” were similar to the 12 different areas in Hunger Games, but that is where the similarities ended. I loved the fresh new take on the dystopian story.

For this 2nd book, I do not even know where to begin, as I loved this book so much, but was disappointed and sad about a loss to a main character from the first book. So sad, and usually we do not lose the main characters, so this was a huge blow for me.

I loved seeing how Kayleigh has grown up a lot since book one. I still do not understand why people seen her as a leader and someone to follow, to me she was pretty immature, but she did grow on me.

I still loved Conner, he was my favorite in book one, and continued to be my guy of choice in this book.

Here is a funny scene for you:

“Me carrying a gun would be a waste of bullets,” I admit.“You don’t always have to pull the trigger. A lot of times, just having the weapon can defuse a situation.”“Not when it’s common knowledge that I can’t hit the broad side of a barn.”

Here is another favorite sweet scene:

Before I can overthink it to death, I push up on my toes and press my lips to his. He freezes for a second, but only a second. When his arm wraps around my waist and he kisses me back, the ferocity of it sends me reeling. His free hand finds its way into my hair as his fingers press against the bare skin exposed around my middle from stretching my body far enough to reach his mouth. His tongue swoops inside and suddenly the saying ‘weak in the knees’ makes perfect sense to me.

There is a ton of action in this book too. We have many witty fun parts as well.

It’s a fun fast action packed read. I highly recommend this series. If you do like the dystopian type books, like Hunger Games and Divergent, then you will love this too.

5 out of 5 stars for me.

The ending to Dissidence was unreal and it left me crying out for this book! I actually had to go back and re-read it before I read this book so that I could get a feel for it again! I have to be honest and say that I didn't really enjoy this book as much as the first book, but it was still amazing! There was nothing wrong with this book at all! It was amazingly written and was a fantastic follow on to Dissidence, but I felt like there was something missing from it for me to love it as much as the first book! The plot of this book had developed on so much from Dissidence and I found it a whirlwind! It just had situation after situation and I started to feel so sorry for the characters! There was plenty of action in this book and loads of twists and turns to keep me entertained though! I thought that the plot was amazing with all the action in it and it really got me thinking about what was going to happen next! The characters were again amazing just like they were in the first book! Kaleigh was so different to what she was in the first book! I thought that she had grown so much and I wasn't sure if I really liked how much she grew! I felt like I didn't really connect with her as much as what I did in Dissidence! I started to connect with her at the beginning and at the end, but not as much in the middle! She was so brave though and she really kicked ass! Conner was so hot! I loved him in the first book and I loved him even more in this book! He was so protective of Kaleigh again and I could see that he really loved her! Remember the love triangle from the first book? Well, I can't talk about it for this book as it will reveal a massive spoiler and will ruin a bit of the book for you! I'm not sure if there's going to be another book to this series as Vengeance ended perfectly in my opinion! Everything was resolved, but to be honest I love this series so I wouldn't mind another book! I read this book when it didn't have a cover and I didn't really have a cover in my head, but I can say that the cover suits the book so much! It also really suits the cover for the first book in the series! Big thank you to Jamie for an ARC of Vengeance and for having me on the Blog Tour!

Dissidence ended on a massive cliffhanger, so I was eager to get my hands on the sequel to find out where on Earth the story was going to go from there. I had my theories, but I could not have been more wrong. A couple pages in, my jaw was hanging open. She didn't! Oh, yes, she did. And she walked me through the aftermath step by step, letting me steep in the agony and determination that can come from loss.

Canosa doesn't shy away from true feelings in this book, which was one of the many things I loved about it. Dystopians paint a picture of a ruined society, but humans are humans no matter the setting, and Canosa did a fantastic job of being real inside a dystopian world.

Kayleigh's voice is snarky and sarcastic throughout both books. She made me smile with her unflagging sense of humor, even when death was a near certainty. The action is non-stop and intense, but thankfully, not gory. In fact, the characters go out of their way to disarm and disable opponents without killing them, which I found a nice reprieve from the ultra violent themes popular today. Dissidence has the same feel and tension of Divergent by Veronic Roth. But Vengeance surpasses Insurgent by a mile, in my opinion!

If you're a fan of YA dystopian novels, you owe it to yourself to check out these books. And then you can say you knew her back before she became a NYT Bestselling Author!

Wow!! I thought book 1 was action packed but Vengeance goes above and beyond and right into freaking AMAZING!! I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time. Ms. Canosa kicked up the intrigue and betrayal creating one hell of a follow up to Dissidence. This book has you guessing nonstop and utterly shocked when you find out the truth. There's one twist right after another and even when things seem bleak you can't help but hold onto hope right up until the very end. I loved that Vengeance picks up right where book 1 left off, and doesn't recap half of the story to get you caught up, as some other series tend to do. I wanted to get right back into the story and find out what happened when the bomb went off and my prayers were answered, although it was quite sad. But never fear because Kayleigh has Connor as her support system even though she tries to push him away. Together their crazy do-or-die antics help lead a rebellion as they try to right the wrongs committed against the citizens of the colonies. This story is just as fast paced as the first and flows just as smoothly. You are pulled right into the story and completely captivated as you fight along with the dissidents and feel their wins/losses. I really hope there is a 3rd book because I would love to see the story continued. Ms. Canosa did an amazing job with this series and I highly recommend it!

As a huge fan of Jamie Canosa's Dissidence, I couldn't wait for the sequel. But then I worried it might not be as good as the first. Sometimes when you're a little fanatical over something, any sequels will just disappoint. I can tell you right now that with the sequel, Vengeance, Jamie definitely didn't disappoint.

Vengeance begins right where Dissidence left off, in the wake of the explosion Kaleigh was right smack in the middle of. And the story never slows down. This time Kaleigh finds she has a new enemy to contend with. And she's contending with it in the midst of her overwhelming guilt and grief from how wrong things seem to have gone, and a strong desire for revenge that almost eclipses everything else.

This sequel is fast-paced, full of Kaleigh's fiery wit and sarcasm that so endeared me to her in the first book, and holds true to the love story that began when first she realized she had a choice to make between the two men who love her. I can't say enough good about this book. Once you start reading it, you won't be able to stop until you get to the perfect ending. If you're a fan of good writing, humor, romance, and non-stop action, then this book is one you won't want to miss.

There have been times when I have wanted to put blame on myself when the fault lies in someone else. This is what Kaleigh does, making herself feel responsible for the untimely death of a dear friend. But Kaleigh must release that guilt along with finding out who did and work to figure out many other secrets left to be discovered.

I really enjoyed this book by Jamie Canosa. The characters are real and likeable. The flow of the book was easy and it is definitely a page turner! The suspense and underlying mystery kept me reading it. This is one I’d read many times.

Kayleigh's world has just turned upside down. She can't seem to get of this dark place, when she does she finds out everyone has a hidden agenda, who do you trust when almost everyone lets you down or lies to you? how do you keep fighting?

Kayleigh is not ready to give up, she still is her spunk and big mouths so you know she's in for trouble. I liked the ending, this book is not realistic but somehow the author makes the characters work and you believe and feel it's all happening.

Love the cover.

I absolutely LOVED this book. I really like Dissidence, but Vengeance just took it to a whole new level for me. I read it in two nights because I simply could not put it down. It was one of those rare books for me that when it ended, I was so sad not to be in that world anymore. I enjoyed all the characters, and the ending was satisfying. This has been added to my favorites list for sure!

Loved it!

This series is really good. Unlike divergent, this series ended the way you would have hoped. This was a thoroughly enjoyable series. I'm really going to recommend one of the production companies make this book into a movie!!!

I really liked Vengeance. It wasn't as fast paced as Dissidence, but it ended the 2 book series in a satisfying way. There were definitely some surprising twists!
