Titan Falls #2

Loyal Vows

Rate this book
I thought I knew evil.
I thought I knew love.

But here, locked within the rotting walls of an abandoned manor, something much darker unfurls—something that makes my previous life seem like a childhood fairy tale.

Morgan, Rio, Xavier.

Each one a jagged puzzle piece that somehow fits perfectly into my shattered life.

Rossi.

The man I can't figure out, yet the one who holds the key to the riddle that surrounds us all.

In this house, every whisper becomes a scream, every touch leaves a burn. We share secrets, tangled sheets, and rituals too dangerous to utter aloud.

When Rossi lays a choice at my feet—one that could either save us or doom us all—I realize how precarious loyalty can be.

We've sworn vows, some in blood, some in tears.

I thought I was ready for the fallout.

I was wrong.

--

This is Book 2 of a why choose duet. It is highly recommended you indulge in Book One, Broken Beauty, first.

With each of them, a different shade of darkness beckons...

The professor.
The stalker.
The disgraced athlete.
The psychopath.

We will break her.

3.5 ☆

the turn that the plot took in this book had me questioning my enjoyment at first tbh. the mafia side of things is more prominent and because of that it loses some of the witchy/occult elements that I thought made the 1st book so fun and different. I found some sections of the story to be kinda convoluted, but despite all that I really did grow to care for these characters as a whole so that saved it. the sex scenes this time around were so good too🥵.

”I will spend the rest of my life with these men, and nothing will tear us apart. Not even a Mafia empire.”

I can now say that Rio and Morgan are my favs. there’s something about Morgan’s sarcasm/insanity that had me in a chokehold and Rio.. you know what they say about the quiet ones😮‍💨. but don’t get me wrong, we still love Xavier and Rossi too🫶🏽. Clover’s character growth was appreciated and I loved seeing her find her place amongst all the chaos. the last couple chapters had me fighting for my life and i still don’t even know what to think. but I’d say this was a interesting duology for the most part and ofc I will be reading the spin off involving Cav and the Cimmerian Court.. can’t wait🤭.

↳ i’ll just leave this warning from 1 of the mmc’s here😏

“If I haven’t made you run away screaming yet, please enjoy. But don't assume I won’t try again later. Ready to sin? Oh, I mean read. Slip of the tongue. Yours in impending chaos, Morgan.”

Nice ending!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜❤️💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😟🤭😤☺️

The heroine: Clover - her father hung around bad people and she was sheltered from the start while her father trained her brother Tempest for what would someday be expected of him. Now she is attending Titan Falls University where her brother is a TA and he is dating her best friend Ardyn. Clover knows that her brother, Rio and the guys are into something dangerous but doesn’t know what it is. She has a paper about Sarah Anderton, a witch who lived in the 1700’s in Titan Falls and poised people for her clients. Clover was determined find out what Sarah’s daughters name was, but in looking she found that Sarah may have had a treasure of jewels that she got from her clients that nobody has found in hundreds of years.

The Heroes: Morgan, Rio, Rossi and Xavier - They are the Vultures of Titan Falls, they are mafia assassins whose job it is to dispose of the Don Marco Bianchi’s enemies.
Miguel Rossi - he is a professor and the leader of the Vultures. He was once the Don’s most effective assassin, until he thought to try to get away from the life with his wife and child. Don Marco Bianchi then killed his wife and child and exiled him to Titan Falls where he calls on him and other people in his debt to assassinate anyone he wants to be rid of.
Rio (a.k.a. Riordan) - Best friend of Tempest (Clover’s brother), who was sold by their father to the Bianchi’s to pay for his gambling debts. Rio is loyal to Tempest, so he agreed to help Tempest and is now in it as deep as Tempest.
Hunter Morgan - a professor of occult studies at Titan Falls University. He is also the nephew of Don Marco Bianchi. He was basically abused and tortured as a kid by his uncle and was exiled to Titan Falls to get his psychopathy and fetishes under control. Don is grooming him to take over someday.
Xaviar - he is a former soccer star from England who made a mistake and fell in love with the wrong girl. When he broke up with her via text, her father kidnapped him, broke his leg, ending his career then sold him to the Bianchi’s, who tortured him, and now he works for them (unwillingly). He doesn’t really have the stomach for killing but has no choice.

The Story: Clover wants to find out about Sarah Anderton and is searching for the cache of jewels that may be hidden somewhere in Titan Falls. Though Morgan, Rio, Tempest and Xavier also want to find the jewels so they can get out from under the thumb of Marco Bianchi. Morgan was told by Bianchi to find the Jewels because he wants them, he also told Morgan that someday, he wants Clover because she will fetch a high price at auction.

Meanwhile, Clover has hooked up with all four of the men in the Vultures, (except Tempest of course) Though Tempest doesn’t know this and still wants to protect his sister from guys and from what they do for the mafia, but he finally starts to see her value.

Tempest stares at me with heavy eyes, then blinks. “I can’t with you, Clo. Stop being such a fucking Nancy Drew.”

I wasn’t too happy when I found out there was a second book about these characters, since Goodreads didn’t show it when I started the first, but I was glad I went ahead and bought this book. It was worth it and I loved that each of these two books were over 400 pages, I have to say, that I hate it when authors do three to five 200-page books. I would much rather have one or two longer books like this. I often feel cheated when I have to read (and pay for) a bunch of shorter books. I sometimes won’t even bother to start a series when I see that.

The story was really good, and the action began from the first page of this book. Though I didn’t like the fact that a powerful secret society came into the mix. I really dislike secret society plots, they are just too scary and controlling. The mafia was bad enough, but throw in a secret society that runs the government and shapes world events to give its members more power, and I just hate the thought of it.

I'm coming out of the WORST reading slump I've ever had in my life.
This is the 2nd book I've read this year. I'm 25 books behind schedule. How did we get here?
Anyway, this was a good duology.
The first book was lightly more interesting, but I liked this one too. The main character isn't annoying, which is a big win for me. The boys are all interesting.
I haven't written one of these in ages so cut me some slack.

All you need to know is that the duology is entertaining and it reads fast. The plot is simple but it holds your attention.

I wanted to like this so badly. I liked book 1. I like the author.
…but I just couldn’t like it.

This book really lost its way from book 1. The plot kind of fell apart. Half the time I had no idea what was happening or what mission they were on (and why) or where they were.

The romance was the most boring part. I wish Rossi wasn’t part of it - he creeped me out (not in a good way) and didn’t join the romance until like 3/4 of the way through the book (and then the ending drama is about him). I wish the book just ended with them going their separate way from Rossi - I’m still not sure what they decided with him and the criminal empire at the end (although I was skimming by that point but it did not seem clear). I was not convinced Clover loved them or they loved her. Also, Clover behaved so bizarrely and was so awkward (in a bad way) and yet so horny, I began to think she was a little off.

I’m sad. I really wanted to like this more.

From the moment I finished "Broken Beauty," my anticipation for the next chapter of this dark and thrilling series was insatiable. "Loyal Vows" does more than live up to its promise; it plunges you into a deliciously dark and depraved world that grips your soul.

Reading "Broken Beauty" before diving into "Loyal Vows" is an absolute must. The seamless continuation from one to the next is like a heartbeat, never missing a beat. It's a direct continuation of the Vultures' journey to take down the mafia boss, and you're thrown right back into the fray with no time wasted.

"Loyal Vows" is a tale of loyalty, bonds that last a lifetime, and the enigmatic Clover's journey into the heart of the Vultures' domain. What truly captivated me were the intricate dynamics within each relationship, and the introduction of intriguing new elements and mysteries. Clover, with her fierce determination, unyielding curiosity, and insatiable thirst for knowledge, becomes an unstoppable force. Her connection with Rio, Xavier, Morgan, and finally, FINALLY Rossi, showcases love in all its beautifully messed-up forms.

The passion in this book is off the charts! Yes, it might require a bit of suspension of reality (lube, anyone?), but those group scenes are mind-blowing. If you're a fan of dark and reverse harem stories, this is an absolute must-read.

Ketley Allison's writing possesses a poetic quality that masterfully sets the gothic scene, enveloping readers in an old-timey ambiance that immerses you in the dark society setting. The gothic tones, the twisted romances, and the dark society itself are beautifully portrayed. It's bittersweet to see this series conclude, but I'm exhilarated by what lies ahead.

If you're ready for a story that seizes your emotions, ignites your imagination, and leaves you craving more, "Loyal Vows" is your ticket to an unforgettable journey into the depths of darkness and desire.

This is the final book for clover and her men, and it could not have been written anymore beautifully I want to thank the author and valentine pr for providing me with this arc in exchange for a genuine review.

Loyal vows is a dark gothic romance set in the quaint town of titan falls which is filled with the whispers of witches and magic. Clover and her four men are on a quest to find what has been forgotten they are continuing their journey to find the hidden jewels of the past to unearth the mystery that shrouds this small town. I resonate a lot with clover as a fmc she is chaotically curious explicitly drawn to dark and magical academia and her taste in men is perfection.
Something I enjoyed a lot about clover’s harem was that they were not assigned the typical designated personalities as is the trend in such books. Every man in her harem is complex, different, and set aside from the mundane.

Miguel Rossi the sexy professor with his weight of the world on his broad set shoulders dark smoky eyes all that knowledge leadership authority like I understand clover’s struggle how you cannot fall for him.

Rio who has always protected her looked out for her like she does not even need to doubt his loyalty his dedication towards her that is how confident she is in him and that really gives you into an insight of how layered and dedicated a character Rio is.

Xavier was like a breath of fresh air whilst struggling with his own trauma which I won't talk about in this review his dry wit and humor and simply ready to put himself in the harm's way to protect her or being ashamed of himself for not being enough for her spoiler alert he totally was enough he was more than enough I need a Xavier you need a Xavier and that is the reality.

Last but not least we have Morgan. Morgan oh Morgan the capturer of my heart the crazy maniac who is not afraid to unleash his demons, filled with this abundance of energy this burst of energy and did I tell you that he is an occult professor makes him 10x hotter doesn't it?

Other than the beautiful characters this book gave me such beautiful found family and suspense and just a complete beautiful package the perfect read for this Halloween season it will transport you right into those spooky vibes you are desperately craving.

So, what are you waiting for? Go start the first book, it talks about tempest, clover’s brother and his love lady and you do not want to miss them.

Clover is in her first year at Titan Falls University . Her brother, Rio, is a TA on campus + just so happens to be dating Clover’s best friend, Ardyn . Clover knows that Rio + his friends are into very dark and dangerous things, but no specifics . She will soon find out though when research for a paper turns into a quest to find hidden treasure .

Morgan, Rossi, Xander + Rio are the Vultures of Titan Falls University . Mafia assassins who get hired for certain jobs because they are the best . Their current target is none other than Marco Bianchi but instead of violence they are doing his bidding . Needing to find the missing sacred jewels of Sarah Anderton shouldn’t be a problem . That is until Clover gets on their way .

Mafia assassins, secret society, lies, betrayal, never ending adventure, I mean this book has it all ! This is the second book in this series . I recommend starting with book one, Broken Beauty .

This books was given to me for honest review by Valentine PR + Literary Management .

Continuing on with the Titan Falls series (duology?), Loyal Vows was a good way to wrap up the story. This book was more focused on the mafia elements than the last book, but we still got some of the more mystery elements with the Sarah storyline. I thought the author did a good job of tying both of them together, especially with some of the clues we got throughout the story.

The last 20% of the book was a struggle for me to read. Something about the decisions the characters made after that point made me feel disconnected to the plot.

Rio and Morgan were the most developed and interesting characters. I felt more connected to them than Rossi and Xavier.

I personally don't think I'll be continuing with the spin off series after this. I was going to read the prequel about Ardyn and Tempest (and still might) but we do get a quick summary of what happened in that book in this book.

Clover and her men continue their story in this book. The plot continues to be action packed and the mystery of unraveling the ancient witch, Sarah, continues to be central to the plot, however, it seems there is a hidden plot as well that just suddenly pops up. The spice level was hot and consensual although a bit dark and twisted at times. I struggled with the instant forgiveness, you'll have to read to find out who, what, where and why. It seems the story for Clover is far from finished as a new threat pops up in this story although it appears the characters are unaware. For me the series started out great, but just seems to be languishing on. Hopefully the next book will be a turning point and bring some new characters to the forefront.

Holy heckin! I can’t even with these characters, I mean I love the gothic suspense here but now I’ll be panting until a different book is out, I will miss Clover. She was a strong morally grey character and I loved her interests! The puzzles and historical elements were beautifully written as well.

The guys are all amazing and I am glad Clover chose what she did… I leave it at that for now. 😉 I want to know more about this secret group the book alludes to. I need that story now. I really would listen to this in an audiobook if the voices were something sultry and dark yet cunning. 🥵

I adored the characters, world building, the stories impressively crafted in the main overall novel.
The spice is decadent, twisted…I was LOST in this book, the puzzle of how Clover interacts with everyone, how the physical and mental game Sarah lead the different factions on was amazing.
Did I mention how HOT and next level the spice was in this? However your style of getting happy is, this is the book to trigger that off. Some of the things that Morgan is in to are a bit beyond my interest, but, no shame.
There are twists and turns RIGHT TO THE END.
Do yourself a favor, start with Broken Beauty, YOU must read that first, the delve into Loyal Vows.

I absolutely love these men and Clo. Honestly I’ve struggled with Morgan but in the end his character developed and becomes new. Xav deserves so much for his tortured past and Rio well who doesn’t like a stalker? Rossi I was disappointed in but I’m glad he came home. I can not wait to see what becomes of Cav.

Continuing trend I’m seeing of second book syndrome. RH is enough of a plot driver / adds a lot in its own so I feel like this and other books just end up feeling over done or over wrought with all the unnecessary plot twists and seemingly out of character choices made towards the end.

This is also probably the least connected the group has ever felt.

At first the concept interested me as it seemed different, but there just seems to be way too many elements for the story to be cohesive.

Mafia x Treasure Hunting x Modern Witchcraft x Nancy Drew is such a weird mix, and then of course, the harem all share feelings for this girl from the get-go with very little real development. It all just kind of happens, and it feels unnatural.

Clover is naive in the worst ways, the type where they’re aloof and never aware of their surroundings, so she’s naturally always getting into trouble, or making things harder for Tempest (though he too is a problem).

The whole thing crashed and burned for me. It was painfully slow despite the 500 plots happening all at once, and it got so very boring.

Also, let’s normalise sex scenes being appropriately timed. I’m so SICK of characters raw-dogging during the worst possible moments in the plot.

This book did not work for me at all. The end really doesn’t make things better either and I’m so disappointed how it ended. Rossi’s betrayal still makes no sense and it’s maddening that everyone was trying to escape this life and now they’re in deeper than ever before. Clovers life now will always be a bargaining chip for any enemies they may come across and honestly it’s just not how I saw this going. It was also still unclear to me if this was an actual paranormal read or if it was just bridging the line of magic and set in the real world. I found the whole mystery a fun scooby doo like adventure but it kinda fell flat like a lot of the story did.

dogs are stabbed in this

TW: multiple dogs are hurt by the FMC and MMC - this author falls into the stereotype that rottweilers are aggressive

I do not recommend and will not continue.

Also, the FMC becomes TSTL and quite annoying as the storyline progresses, “determined to help” but always needing to be saved as a result of her rash actions.

It has taken me entirely too long to write this review. I sat on it for a while because I felt I needed to process my thoughts on the duet and also because I just plain loved Loyal Vows and Broken Beauty and read and re-read both of them. Having waited a little while to write this review, I'm still not 100% I'll be able to convey how much I love these two books, but I'll give it a go.

Wow, just wow! I absolutely adored Clover, ever since her brief appearances in Tempest and Ardyn's book, Cruel Promise. In fact, she is my favorite female character in all of Ketley's books, which is saying something because all the FMC are wonderful. Clover was my 'spirit book character' like a version of a spirit animal lol. I enjoyed Clovers' quirkiness in her love for crystals, tarot, and witchcraft, it made her unique and as mentioned by the Vultures in the first book, guileless. In modern society, and especially in college with "bitchy cupcakes" (Clover term) it was refreshing to find a female character who was unapologetic in what she believed in and loved even when others judged or criticised her for being alternative and outside the norm. She was quirky, guileless, sometimes socially awkward, but feisty, intelligent and fearless. I found her very relatable.

Rio, Morgan, Rossi and Xavier. Four of the best male characters in a why choose romance. I'd like to say I have a favorite but I'm not 100% I could commit to one just being at the top. I loved all of them for their own reasons.

Rio - strong, silent, stalker. I have to say Rio is always in the running of favorites, simply for the fact that I have followed his appearances since the Briarcliff series, then Cruel Promise. His character development changed so much from Briarcliff where he was more brash, outspoken and forceful. I know his experience in the Nobles and what happened to Ivy was a big thing and affected how he was currently in this series, along with how he came to find Tempest in the Vultures. Thank you, Ketley for touching on his background in this book and having him share that with Clover. While I know he loved Ivy in Briarcliff and still probably holds love for her, I still felt he truly loved Clover and that she was his destiny. I loved that he found his HEA with Clover and their made family.

“Ivy may have been my past, a beautiful chapter in a life that needed it. But you, Clover, you are the story I was always meant to complete. You are the epic tale I never knew I’d have the privilege to live.”

Hunter Morgan, a crazy, morally grey character. Really all the Vultures are morally grey but Morgan is just at another level. Someone who grew up in a mafia family under a clearly vicious and abusive father and uncle, it was clear to see those experiences shaped him into someone who struggled with his rage as a result of those experiences and who struggled to maintain a humanity accepted by society. I think as a result of his abuse and loneliness, he like Clover, found comfort in learning about the darker aspects of society - the occult. I think this was one of main mutual draws between Clover and Morgan. And while Morgan still enjoyed this topic, he still had a skepticism towards it, which could be seen in the times he didn't quite believe or laughed/smirked at Clover's seance's. But again, I think this was a big draw for him with her, her guilelessness and complete openness to the darker aspects of belief. There wasn't a question that he was completely devoted to Clover once he let go of the barrier of Professor/Student. I loved that he encouraged Clover in her beliefs and fought with her.

Rossi - dark, mysterious, strong, broken, wanting redemption but not believing he was worthy. Another MMC always in the running of being my favorite. Loved that he was a little taboo for Clover, considering the age-gap and again Professor/Student relationship, but again these were things which made the story and romance between the two even better. Rossi’s story broke my heart, essentially forced into servitude even before becoming a Vulture and before having lost his family. But to have to continue in that role after having to watch his family being murdered, it's a wonder he was able to hold onto his humanity, although it was clear to see it was a struggle. However, in having to stay in the role as the Vulture and creating the Vultures he found what would be his family and ultimately new love and redemption with Clover. Ketley, you did an amazing job of conveying the tension between the two from the very beginning. There was clear tension and anticipation from their first interaction when Clover was performing the seance in the anatomical theater to their last when Rossi came back for Clover at the end. I cried in the last few chapters when Rossi made his decision about Marco’s syndicate and how it affected Clover and others. The pain, the loss. But him coming back and fighting for Clover and finally believing he was worthy of love and redemption was ‘chefs kiss.’ Thank you, Ketley, for giving that HEA to the two of them and ultimately us as readers. It would have been so hard to have left this series and these characters without this closure.

And finally, Xavier. He was the comic relief out of the group. I looked forward to reading his points of view as I knew he’d have something to say and/or think something funny. The loss of his career at the pettiness and ego of a former relationship was clearly painful for him. I felt more of his pain and difficulty accepting his predicament with the Vultures in the first book when tasked with Morgan to end the man’s life in the basement of Anderton Cottage, and therefore take his official step into the Vultures. It was a tough reality pill for him to swallow but I loved how he anchored onto Clover as his moore of strength and like the other three, became devoted to her. Some of my favorite Xavier moments:

“Blindly, he drags us along the creek bottom, sheltered from view. My chest tightens, but I don’t dare surface until Rio does, though apparently, he’s a seal now because he does not f**king surface.”

“Morgan has found himself an antique blade in some display case, unsheathing it with a reverence that would be alarming if it weren’t for our situation.”

“It suits him, oddly enough. His tie slithers into his buttoned-up blazer like a black snake hiding until it’s ready to strike. It offers a sharp contrast that almost says, “I may look like fun, but cross me, and I’ll eat you as my amuse bouche.”

These four men were at odds with each other, especially in personality. But I loved how they united together, got along with each other and ultimately became a family all for the sake of Clover and to be with her.

Finally, I have to comment on Tempest. I’m so happy he stopped fighting keeping Clover separated from everything, even though it was understandable why he was doing it, because he loved her and wanted to keep her safe. Except by doing so, he was risking his own relationship with her. I loved seeing him let go and letting her in, him ultimately doing so allowed them all to come together and become a family and also gave him some closure in all that had been done to him.

Thank you for such a beautiful duet, Ketley. Most books I get on Kindle and only buy in paperback/hardback if they are exceptionally good and these two are just that. I can’t wait to have them on my bookshelf with my other favorites.

Looking forward to the Cimmerian Court series and perhaps a few guest appearances of Clover and her guys.

I don’t know wtf happened between the first book and this one, but it is not working. 42% in I finally gave up. I really enjoyed the mystery and the occult vibes in Broken Beauties and anticipated that to be carried through with Loyal Vows, but all the focus is on the Mafia/secret societies.
I think the main reason I couldn’t finish this book is Clover. She is insufferable. She intentionally places herself in the middle of a literal witch hunt for hidden treasures, racing against dangerous men, and is shocked when she encounters (WAIT FOR IT)…..dangerous men. Supposedly, she’s in love with Rio, Rossi, Xavier, and Morgan, but constantly struggles to come to terms with who and what they are. Xavier has the most redeemable qualities in my opinion, yet Clover always seems to push him away to run to the most morally corrupt; Morgan.
I just couldn’t handle the character inconsistencies any longer.

What is the Titan Falls bilogy about? Well, that's a good question, because the books are a bit chaotic but not in a bad way. The first book seems to be more of a mystery, thriller, paranormal; but then the second one is more about mafia, secret societies, although it still has that paranormal and mystery touch.
A strange combination, but in my opinion it worked very well.
As many of you may have noticed, I have been in a reading slump since March and thanks to these books I have regained the desire to read, so they are perfect books to get out of a reading slump or for when you feel like reading something paranormal / mafia.

Keep in mind that these books can be considered Dark romance and contain quite a few trigger warnings, apart from the fact that it's Why Choose / Reverse Harem. So if you don't like this kind of books, I recommend you not to read them.

My thoughts
The truth is that I liked them a lot, I have to say that for me the first one is a thousand times better than the second one, but both books are very, very good and I tell you, you eat them. Once you start them, you can't stop.
Considering the kind of romance it is, I don't think the book is too fast paced or that things happen too fast. It is, after all, one girl and four boys.
I found the story of Sarah Anderton's missing jewels and her daughter's missing name fascinating, I was really more focused on what was going to happen and what our female character would do to find the next clue, rather than the romance and spice.
Also the whole mafia and assassin thing, I really enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of mafia romance, but this one is written perfectly.

The characters
Clover : our female character. A student at Titan Fall University and a fan of the witchcraft/sorcery that occurred in Titan Falls in the 1700s.
She is determined to find the name of the daughter of Sarah Anderton, the town's most famous 1700's witch who suffered a fatal fate being found and prosecuted for being a witch.
Very good character development, a personality that makes you love her and on top of that, the luckiest girl in the world because she gets the 4 most attractive guys on campus (2 of them are teachers 😏).
Morgan, Rio, Xavier y Rossi : our male characters. The Vultures of Titan Falls are a mafia of assassins who do the work for Don Marco Bianchi.
Rossi : professor at Titan Falls University and leader of the Vultures. He was the most lethal assassin Don Bianchi possessed until he tried to escape that life and Bianchi did something unforgivable.
He was his most feared assassin, but now he is his greatest enemy and seeks revenge.
A daddy through and through, I love him.
Morgan : Professor of occultism at the University of Titan Falls and nephew of Don Marco Bianchi.
He was abused and tortured by his uncle and was exiled to Titan Falls to join the Vultures to keep his psychopathy and fetishes at bay.
I shouldn't be a fan of this man, because he really is a little bit sick in the head, but what a man 😩.
Rio : Tempest's best friend (Clover's brother) who was sold by his father to Don Bianchi to pay his gambling debts. As Rio is Tempest's most loyal friend, he decided to follow him and well now he is also part of the Vultures.
He doesn't talk much, but when he does he speaks uffff. One of my favourites.
Xavier : was one of the best football players until he broke the heart of the wrong girl and ended up in the hands of Don Bianchi.
The most ‘normal’ of them all. He has a very sweet personality and is the most affectionate. Very nice guy, a pity all he had to suffer.

In short, I highly recommend this book. If you like dark romance, mafia romance, RH, why choose. This book is perfect for you.

Fav quotes (of both books)

"You don't ever have to be enough for someone, least of all me. You are an unexpected bright spot. Baffling, surreal, but if you'll let me, I'd love to keep feeling fantastic with you"

"This is what you need. You don't want a Prince Charming; you want a monster"

"I've been forced to endure things. Do things I don't want. Bad things. Things I don't want to do. But each time I'm convinced I wouldn't survive, I think of you"

"You are my moonlight maiden. I will cling to her whenever the chance arises. That makes you exeptional. To me, you are incredible, Clover."

"Ivy may have been my past, a beautiful chapter in a life that needed it. But you, Clover, you are the story I was meant to complete. You are the epic tale I never knew I'd have the privilege to live."

"We want to burn the whole fucking world down to protect you."

"You're the only radiance we have left, the unexpected and ethereal that's come out of all the pain and suffering."

Cruel Promise was a better book ******SPOILER ALERT

II usually don't give three star ratings but the more I read of Loyal Vows, the more I was disappointed with the direction of the storyline. Yes I understand Cruel Promise was laying the foundation of the characters and TBE interactions. Both books hoovered over the lost jewels from Sarah Anderson and her daughter, Lillium. Clover the female lead character, was somewhat of a savant when she could solve clues to the disappearance of Sarah and her daughter. Clover was also gifted in being able to love multiple men, Xavier, Morgan, Rio and Rossi. Yes Clover solved the clues and found the treasure. It wasn't the treasure in jewels. Even in the days of witches being burned at the stakes, there was human trafficking of women. ***SPOILER ALERT This was Sarah's treasure, the network and codes of the rescue of the people being sold for sexual and devastating lives. But although both books, the Vultures lead by Rossi and Tempest, Clovers brother, was like a son to him. Also Rio, Xavier, and Morgan were Vultures. More than anything they wanted to get out from under the control of the Bianchi mob. Under the guise of an auction of rare possessions of the rich and famous of Falls , Clover and Ardyn, Temper the girlfriend and Clover's best friend, release the girls who would have been auctioned, the second time the Vultures have thwarted Don Bianchi's girls to be trafficked. This auction was the point the Vultures had planned to overthrow the control of the Bianchi family. So two books and here is Rossi's revenge for the mob killing of his Rossi's wife and eight year old daughter. The Vultures had followed Rossi through the years as the extended arm of the Bianchi's and he had kidnapped Clover. Riding in an armoured truck, the Don starts getting frisky with Clover when boom, the crash in an accident forced by the Vultures, Tempest, Rio, Morgan and Xavier. They were just surrounded by 20 of the Don Bianchi's armed guards and suddenly, they were rescuing Clover from a big a** armoured truck and Rossi kills the reigning Don so he can take his place. Ew big secret Rossi didn't share with the rest of his team. Unbelievable. The build in this part of the story and wham bam, its over. Huh? But the love Clover had for Rossi has been shattered. Whereas the first book concentrated on Sarah Anderton, mysteries and Clover's attraction to the four men now in her life, this book was hurry up and wait! Wait then hurry up. Very confusing. And graphic sex after Clover and her harem hooked up, was way too much. Every time another clue was found, Clover and her guys would try out twenty different posituons . Nothing nor number of guys at once was too much for her. I'm not a prude. So the build up and problem solved, no more Don. Build up and solved, no actual jewels. Build up and who loves Clover the most, let us all show her the ways. Yuck. Sorry Ketley, I was disappointed.

RH MMMM/Enemies to Lovers/Age Gap/Muli PoV

SYNOPSIS (of Duet): The FC attends Titan Falls University where her brother is a TA and his friends work as well. Unknown to the FC her brother is emboiled as an enforcer for the Bianchi mafia family as are his friends. The FC is a wiccan researching the death of a witch and her daughter in the 1700s. There is a side story about how she is bullied by the IT girls her form for being different. The main story covers how the FC tracks down the history of the witch and her daughter and the “treasure” that people think she buried. This is told alongside the goings on of the mafia and how they are also after the treasure.

Heat Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆 There are a lot of sex scenes and they are crudely written with some one on one and some group. I found them to be too many and more on the crude side than the sexy, hot side.

The general story was relatively original but it was all very simplistic and lacked depth with a heavy reliance on sex scenes. I found the FC to be annoying and there seemed to be a lack of world building with a a lot of pointless, graphic violence 🙄. It felt like the author thought gratuitous violence equalled good drama and making all of your MCs psychotic gave them some attractive bad boy quality. Unfortunately for me it was not sexy psycho just grim, odd psycho. There seemed to be minimal relationship building and the FC, for no understandable reason, went from a weird emo type to catnip for men in a few pages. For me that’s just lazy writing. I felt no real connection between the FC and any of the MCs but especially Rossi, the older man, who seemed to have no likeable or engaging qualities. I also disliked all of the MCs none of whom seemed to have any likeable qualities.

Overall this was not for me. The story was too basic, the characters unlikeable and no real engagement with the either.

Adventure, drama, and finding yourself that's what this story is.

I still give this a 4 stars. I do t like Rossie at all. I dont about his revenge what I care about is the betrayal. And then Clove without even discussing with her other guys gave in to him. I would of made a deal 1st saying they are all equal partners even Tres. He deserved more than anyone. I would never want ro take orders from a man who betrayed everyone. There would never be trust. The fact she only thinks with what's between her you know what makes her less in my book. She would of been fine without him as they were for 8 months without him. I'm sorry I wouldn't of excepted him back. How can you be ok with heartbreak and betrayal. Not just to ger but the whole of them. It's mind boggling to me. Not only is her like OLD but his betrayal. My fav is still Xavier and sadly even with some scenes we didn't get much of them the entire duet. It's always Morgan or Rio. I'm glad I didn't get much of Rossi I don't think I could of handled it. I had to scroll through their parts. Now with that said the story was good. And I'm sure you'll love it. Most people don't have issues with age gaps. So take that away and you have a really good written duet. I dont really see where it's going with Clover cause it said their story isn't done but the next book is Ardyn's story. So im very confused about that. Would I read this again I don't think so unless I have anything else but it is a really good adventure story so please read it it is worth the stars I've giving of not 5 stars I just don't care for age gaps so i dropped it to 4 stars but take that as it's my opinion and you need forge your own

Overall, I enjoyed this series. Still very glad that I read Cruel Promise first, as other reviews recommended, then these two.

This, the second book of Clover, was just as great as the first one... until the very ending.

I was enjoying this book a lot. I was hoping that Rossi would figure into the relationship sooner than he did, though, but I really did feel the potential for so much with him and Clover.

The twist was not a huge shock to me, but I hadn't realized how much of a shock it ended up being to the others. Thinking about it now, I understand why they didn't see it coming at all. Then, the way it was all handled, cold and calculating, was unexpected.

I have to admit, though, I could totally feel the betrayal and anguish from everyone. The feeling of hurt and betrayal was coming through so well, that I could even feel it. I was seriously tearing up, over here.

Which is why I am so disappointed by the ending. After all that, 10 months later, he comes back and just wants back in, and they are all just OK with that?! No way. There totally needed to be some more serious groveling and actual apologies. Honestly, leaving out that last chapter would have been better than putting that in. Yeah, it wouldn't have had as happy an ending, but it would have felt more real than that.

This ending is why I am knocking my rating down a star.

Up to that last chapter, I would have totally agreed that I would end up reading this book again, but now I'm seriously doubting I will. I still would recommend this book to others, but will give them a (spoiler-free) warning about the terrible ending.
