When Sisi brought me to Lagos for work, I didn't expect to have sex for money or to sexually debase myself for the pleasure of Nigeria's corrupt/morally bankrupt elite. But I realized early on that I don't really mind it – it is a journey I am willing to take to reach the destination of the life I want.
However, the journey gets bumpy quickly; my secret plans and growing affection for Sisi’s right-hand man and in-house diviner, Dimeji, bring me into a headlong collision with her. There’s also the effect of the oath I swore before the goddess of the graveyard, which will haunt me to death.
I try to fight it, but one thing’s for sure, I’m not likely to leave this place alive.
"You possess beauty that's breathtaking both within and out. The sort of beauty that I knew would bring me death from the moment I laid eyes on you. In that beauty is your light. It radiates. On the other side, there's a level of darkness inside you just like every other human being. But yours finds a balance; you're not afraid to embrace your darkness as much as you embrace the light."
Whew!! Y'all. I've found a new genre I want to bury myself in! Tomilola said I'm going to make y'all thirst for this and am I thirsty?! I didn't want this book to end.
First off, this is nothing like I've ever read from a Nigerian author. It's dark, it's crazy. The characters don't give a fuck! The moment I knew I was in for a ride was when Sho said "Didinrin" then lectured tf out of Lewa mid sex. I was shocked and I kept picturing the scene.
The love story between Sho and Lewa is not the usual. There are ups and downs but my favorite thing about this book is Lewa's growth. Lewa at the beginning of the book would be so proud of the Lewa at the end of the book. My babe owned her sexuality and in return, it paid off in the way she became the owner of her own self.
The spice was just right for me. Omg. The first scene with Lewa and Sho (and that person 😒) was hot af,ngl. But the heated moments I cherished most was with Lewa and Sho in her Ajah apartment. There was just something about how Lewa didn't give two flying fucks about that family member.
I just love how this love story is novel. It's nothing like I have ever read before from a Nigerian romance author. This gave me all the feels I needed at this time.
Y'all NEED to read it, however remember there is heat in this kitchen! Come prepared. If you aren't ready for the heat, go get ready. Nigerian authors are doing the damn thing!
Damn!!! This is darrkkk!!! This is an unexpected dark read for me and I'm lost for words. Don't go into this book expecting any righteous character please. Your book love interests are morally grey but the entertainment just never dies. This is one book you'll read in a sitting. Something sharp, sweet, steamy, spicy, atarodo hot and overall fun. It is Sugar Daddy Chronicles for a reason and I just confirmed it. This book tells the story of Lewa who gets saved from the shackles of abject poverty by her distant cousin but this saving comes with a price; her body. Her cousin Funmi soon starts pimping her to top politicians but this is after she has confirmed that she was good in the sack with the help of her wingman, Sho was also doubles as a Babalawo. Yes oo, 21st century Babalawo. This is a dark romance (Erotica) between Lewa and Sho. A runs girl and a babalawo, you see how chaotic and really dark that is? Yeah, have fun!!
“A fierce, layered story of womanhood, survival, and self-possession.”
Tomilola Coco Adeyemo doesn’t hold back in Sugar Daddy Chronicles: Lewa. This is not just a story about transactional relationships—it's a raw, unfiltered exploration of power, desire, and what it means to reclaim your life in a system that thrives on taking it from you.
Lewa is a beautifully complex character—vulnerable but never weak, and her voice is both poetic and unapologetic. The Lagos setting is vivid and pulsating, from the underbelly of corruption to the spiritual tension that creeps in through Yoruba mythology. The oath to the goddess of the graveyard? Haunting. The romance with Dimeji? Slow-burning and deeply emotional.
It’s gritty. It’s erotic. It’s political. It’s spiritual. Some scenes made me uncomfortable, others had me shouting “YES, GIRL” like a true Lagos babe in traffic. But through it all, I respected the risks the author took with the storytelling.
If you’re looking for a safe, sweet read—this isn’t it. But if you want a bold, feminist narrative set in Nigeria with real consequences and real heat, Lewa delivers.
Trigger warnings: sexual content, emotional manipulation, exploitation.
What on earth did I read? Yes, I have always claimed to enjoy spicy romances, but this one was just too spicy, and I am already purging! Wow, an erotica!!! 😂 Damn! This was dark!
This is the first erotica I have read by a Nigerian author. Fr, this was a thrilling experience! Hot, spicy, steamy, fun, sweet... you name it, mehnn! I kept picturing every scene in this story; my imagination went wild, I tell you.
I really enjoyed this story, except for the part where those juju/fetish things were revealed. Sho and Lewa were my favourite characters. Their bravery, particularly Sho's, should be studied. They were not saints, but I could see where they were coming from. Everything they did stemmed from a place of hurt.
This story delves into complex themes like prostitution, sexual abuse/assault, juju/fetish objects, organ trafficking, murder, betrayal, and deception. This story reminded me of two Superstory shows: "Itohan: A Call To Action" and "Oloture" on Netflix. This is an intriguing story, which I highly recommend to fans of dark romance. I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. Tomillola's works.
PS: It is rated 🔞 and extremely dark. So, if you intend to read it, be very prepared!
I have never read anything like it from a Nigerian author ouuuufff (drinks water)
When the author labeled Sugar Daddy Chronicles as erotica, she wasn’t joking. It’s full of romance & spice it’ll leave you thirsty for water 🌶️
But there’s substance beyond the spice. Told from Lewa’s POV, a young lady trying to secure her future in a very unconventional manner, the book tackles Lagos wild life, the behind the scenes of what politicians get up to after dark.
It explores how young women get trapped under the control of a “big madam” having sworn loyalty during desperate times.
The chemistry between Lewa & the babalawo was off the charts! The author did an amazing job at making such an unexpected character so attractive.
I loved how unpredictable the characters were, no forced morals, just real drama, chaos & lots of sex.
This book gives everything it says it wants to give. - A wild and dark love story that is very Nigerian. - Proper, morally corrupt characters without a guilty complex. - Correct dark vibes. Excuse me; we have a Babalawo as the main character! The violence, damn. - Eyebrow raising to eye covering sex scenes, adequately written, by the way. - A fucking happy ending that is straight out of the Korean drama world.
If you're one that enjoys reading dark love stories, Sugar Daddy Chronicles: Lewa should be added to your reading list.
I gobbled up this book in a manner of hours. I loved it so much, I sat two of my friends down and told them the story.
The book started out dark, but I knew I was in for a sweet treat the moment Lewa started looking at her family member's "husband" from their first sexual encounter. It was such a beautiful read like all her books. I devoured a book about a "babalawo" in love with a sugar girl, damn!
Hmm where do i begin Spicy book for sure (not really up my alley, skipped most of the spicy scenes) The story was very adventurous, to experience the life of a sugar baby with a life oath, and sho, her true love, the babalawo that did the life oath. Her life growing up and the kind of unhealthy relationship she has with her mother and siblings For Sho also, his relationship with “his father and half siblings” And especially the extent of his loyalty to Funke (Sisi). His past secrets also
What the heck☺️☺️☺️I literarily started this book over the midnight and what I can say is, it's giving everything it's meant to give. Sugar daddy chronicles is honestly a very great read for some who loves some dark romance. Cheers to Nigerian Authors.
This book was so different and very very enticing. I also really loved that it ended well and I liked how immersive it was. A short and not so sweet erotica and the fact it platforms real life issues. I enjoy it.
omg, this book had me on chokehold from the first page because wdym a sugar baby is having an affair with a babalawo who is also her madam's lover😭 a very sexy rich babalawo😂 love love love this book
