Okayy so besties , this one is a short fantasy novel! Tbh i read it within 2 days , this book was so captivating and interesting from the very beginning! I enjoyed every single chapter of it and will be waiting for the next book to release soon !!

My thoughts :

This book is about Deronis's journey in search of the 'Heart's Desire.' The story kicks off with him wandering aimlessly until he encounters an old man and a fortune teller. Things take a turn when the fortune teller tasks him with finding the 'Heart's Desire' on Celestial Peaks. Overall, the book is easy to grasp, but there's a lot going on at once! it delves deep into the characters' emotional journeys, which resonated with me from the very start ! This book was really a good read!

Narpaz, a Blade Mage who seems to be stuck in limbo after a huge war in his kingdom. He wanders around aimlessly just trying to survive day to day life, when one day he meets an old man who is a catalyst that sets him off on a great adventure, to find his hearts desire. The adventure, while nearly impossible, puts Narpaz before a lot of crazy situations that he must get himself out of. Along the way he makes friends, enemies, and allies, and has to make sacrifices to help everyone that has helped him. The only problem is that no one has ever gone on this journey to find their hearts desire successfully before, and Narpaz isn't sure if he will be able to make it either.

This was a fun journey to go on with Narpaz, our dear friend. The story was fantastical, but also pretty profound, and I found myself drawing deep connections to real life. The symbolism in this book was very thought provoking. While I was reading I kept thinking about The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and found some parallels there which was pretty cool. I think if you liked that book, you'll definitely enjoy this one!

Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza by Garland Redvine
Oh boy, where do I even begin with this book?!🌟

Picture this: a world with magic, science, and an adventurer who’s basically a mix of Indiana Jones and Gandalf. Yes, that’s what you get with Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza.

Let me tell you, this book had me hooked from the get-go.
Our hero, Narpaz, is not just any ordinary adventurer. Nope, he's a Ybardian Blade Mage! I mean, come on, how cool is that? 🧙‍♂️✨

This guy walks around with a freaking Medallion that everyone seems to be after. His adventures are like a rollercoaster ride, and I was here for every twist and turn.

One of my favorite parts is when Narpaz encounters the mysterious robed woman (Greenstar). She’s all like, “I want to see your Medallion,” and Narpaz tries to play dumb. 😂 Classic move. But she’s having none of it. "I don’t want that,” she says, “I want to see the Medallion you’ve got in your satchel. The real one that you’re hiding.” Boom! Busted, Narpaz! 😆

Favorite Scene:
“We can’t have you going to Our Heart’s Desire looking like that,” she said, grinning in a mocking yet playful way. “I know where there’s a special stream that’ll clean you right up.” – Oh, the sass! 😂

And let’s talk about the world-building. Nova Terra is like Disneyland for adults who never stopped dreaming about dragons and wizards.🌍✨

The places Narpaz visits, the creatures he meets – it’s all so vividly described that I felt like I was right there with him, dodging danger and seeking treasure.

This book is an absolute must-read for anyone who loves a good adventure. And if you don’t, well, you’re missing out, my friend. Big time. So, grab your sword, get your Medallion, and dive into the world of Nova Terra. Trust me, you won’t regret it. 🗡️📖

I LOVED this book!

Some say it was too quick and not enough time for character development. However I feel the emotions of Deronis were very clear, I got very emotional during “A moment alone” chapter. I really enjoyed the magic system in this book and I also learned a lot of words that I feel are more older and less used, which really helped the vibe of the book.
I usually read romance fantasy novels, and this was really really awesome to feel a part of an adventurous journey and to feel all the things: worry, fear, hope, excitement, disappointment, triumph!
Thank you Redvine for encouraging me to check this out.

Yes I did notice one or two spelling errors but I didn’t mind because I know these things can be changed and it’s not like it takes away from the story or makes it any less exciting or interesting.

To me because of the short length it was a lovely cosy read, while still providing enough wonderful descriptions to make you feel like you’re right there with Deronis.

I also really loved how we weren’t totally swept away in romance and that there was little change to the characters motives even when he realised he loved her. Too many books seem to lose sight of the plot because they want to include romance. I really appreciated the fact that it was realistic (as one can hope for riding an ice dragon to a mystical place).

I just really loved this and appreciate the world our author has built. I am definitely going to become a supporter of your future works.

“When it comes to your dreams, there’s no ‘guessing’. You either want it or you don’t”

What a fun adventure this short fantasy novel was!! The world of Nova Terra was so enchanting and captivating, it truly keeps you fully invested until the end. Something that I really loved and appreciated as a reader was how much detail Redvine wove into the story. Each vivid description of Galeeza really helped to fully immerse you into the world!

Not only was the world building great, the characters also were so full of depth and story too. Both the protagonist Deronis Narpaz, a mage skilled in sword fighting, and the skilled, mystifying archeress Greenstar, were so enjoyable and easy to make a connection with.

While the fantasy and adventure took center stage, the emotional aspects of the story still shone bright. There’s themes of seeking healing, finding purpose, identity, and sacrifice. The use of wit, magic, mystery, and emotional complexity were woven all together beautifully!

If you’re looking for a fun fantasy full of mystic, magic, and wonder, Nova Terra is for you 💫🗡️

Thank you to @garlandredvine for reaching out to me. It was an honor to read and review your enchanting book!! ✨

You can get Nova Terra on Kindle & Amazon 💫✨🗡️

"The truth is one's Heart will always reveal itself."

Deronis Narpaz, a well-trained mage, decides to leave his home nation and everything he loves behind due to his profound disappointment with the state of Ybardia. The nation is being torn apart by a disastrous war, prompting Deronis to seek out a new purpose in life.

💭thoughts

So, I finished reading this book 3 days ago which is about Deronis's journey in search of the 'Heart's Desire.' The story kicks off with him wandering aimlessly until he encounters an old man and a fortune teller. Things take a turn when the fortune teller tasks him with finding the 'Heart's Desire' on Celestial Peaks. Overall, the book is easy to grasp, but there's a lot going on at once, which can make it a bit overwhelming. Some parts felt a bit dragged out, but the plot and ideas are solid. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

The addition of Greenstar, the archeress, adds an intriguing element to the story. What sets this book apart is its focus on the quest rather than romance. Plus, it delves deep into the characters' emotional journeys, which resonated with me. If you're into fantasy and enjoy a good quest, I'd recommend giving this book a shot, especially since it's available on KU. And rumour has it, there might be a sequel in the works, so worth checking out the first book!

✨️This ebook was gifted to me by the author, but this in no way affects my rating ✨️

This is a difficult one for me to rate. The story is by no means bad, and I didn't hate it, I just don't think it's my cup of tea ☕️

I mainly enjoy more adult books with a bit of YA here and there, and Nova Terra was just too juvenile for my liking.

It's a heartfelt adventure story that follows a war veteran and a banished archeress, and I think primary school (or middle school for the Americans) me would've enjoyed this plenty, but adult me, not so much 😬

I didn't form a connection with any of the characters, but that may be due to us being introduced to A LOT of people within very few pages. The story didn't carry any weight for me due to this, and I only started getting slightly interested about 70% into it.

I think the length of the book also counted against it as a lot of situations were rushed with no explanation for how or why things happened, and this being brushed off due to the main characters having a time constraint to work against. I'm not a fan of loose ends 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm sure this book will be great to some, but I am unfortunately not one of them.

There is one very tiny mention of sex but no detail.

Wonderful world building, magnificent creatures, and a mysterious quest.

Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza was my first book by Garland Redvine. I am a sucker for a good fantasy. This one blends some heavier themes with a homeless veteran plagued by PTSD and flashbacks with your typical fantasy world of wonderous creatures and magical lands. Garland did a wonderful job with Deronis Narpaz. His character was so in depth and well developed. The world building was well done also. I loved the inclusion of unicorns, dragons, and even a chimera! The story could use some refining in the proofreading/editing area due to minor errors. I also would have loved to see more of a slow burn build up romance as the relationship between Deronis and the FMC felt very rushed and a bit confusing. Overall though, it was a decently easy and quick adventure that I enjoyed reading. I have been told that book two is on the way, so I look forward to what Garland has in store.

"Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza" by Garland Redvine swept me away on a journey that I won't soon forget. Deronis Narpaz's quest for purpose after the devastation of war resonated deeply with me, as I followed his path through the enchanting world of Nova Terra.

Joined by the enigmatic Greenstar, the duo embarks on a thrilling adventure filled with mystery and magic. As they journey towards the Celestial Peaks and the elusive Secret of Galeeza, I found myself fully immersed in the richly imagined landscape of Redvine's creation.

But what truly captured my heart were the emotional depths explored throughout the story. From struggles to victories, and every emotional journey in between, I felt a profound connection to the characters and their experiences.

"Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza" is a fast-paced fantasy novel that doesn't shy away from delving into deep emotional themes. It's a journey that left me both breathless and fulfilled, eagerly anticipating the next adventure in this captivating world.

I was gifted a free copy of this ebook in exchange for a honest review by the author, so first of all I want to thank the author for this opportunity!

Nova Terra gave me Zelda-like Vibes. Narpaz is a Blade Mage living as a vagabond after the war. He is dissatisfied with how he is treated by the general folk and is in search of a better life. He rescues a mysterious old man and is then sent onto a quest to find „Galeeza“. During the search there are a lot of side quests that have to be completed in order to get to Galeeza. The novel is very short and introduces a lot of characters. It is easy readable and I liked the concept of the book. However as it’s really short and with so much happening a lot of the story felt rushed to me. I would have liked to read about the quest in more detail and to get a chance to learn more about the characters and to give them time to grow.

However if you like really fast paced, game-like adventure quests this is the perfect novel for you! There will be a second book in this series, as the author is currently working on it.

Nova Terra reminded me greatly of the classic “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, both in the main characters adventurous journey and the philosophical nature of the story, just more fantasy.
The book has strong lore and terminology befitting of a fantasy story, that isn’t too difficult to get into.
The places throughout were well described and easy to picture, though I did feel like the blend of medieval fantasy and technology was a bit off kilter.
I loved how the book reads like a game narrative, the prologue not only hooking, but sounding like the intro to a game. Generally the whole story gave me video game vibes or even d and d vibes.
The battles were neat and the main character had a charmingly good heart. Though the romance wasn’t the best, it felt a lot like instant love and the intimate scene was very awkward to read.
The story felt a little rushed, it could have been a little longer. Though the ending was good and very philosophical in nature.
Generally it was an enjoyable quick read and perfect when you just want to dive into a fantasy world for a few hours.

Garland Redvine reached out to me to read Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza, as someone who typically doesn’t read books in this genre, I jumped at the chance to read.

Disillusioned mage Narpaz leaves Ybardia to find a new purpose, meeting a fortune-teller who reveals a secret hidden in Nova Terra. He joins skilled archeress Greenstar to explore the mystical world and find the secret atop Galeeza Mountain.

This was a very fast-paced adventurous read for me. Once I picked it up, I really couldn’t put it down! For such a short read, this really packed a punch. Personally, I enjoyed the magical realism with mythical quests, this really gave the book a video game like vibe. Getting into characters, Narpaz and Greenstar have an aura to them that really makes you root for them. Not only that, it’s the way they exchange dialogue with each other. Onto plot, I think this book is written so well in the sense you feel like you’re there. I could imagine Galeeza Mountain while I was reading, I could relate to things happening or being said in the book, and I could relate to these characters.

Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nova Terra focuses on retired War Mage Deronis Narpaz who is searching for purpose after a failed war. He is given a quest from a Fortune Teller to find his Heart’s Desire, taking him on a grand adventure through the land of Nova Terra to a mysterious mountain named Galeeza. Along the way he meets an outcast archer named Greenstar who, seeking her own heart’s desire, accompanies him.

While this book is marketed towards adults, it did read YA to me. Because of some mature language, I would recommend this for a high school age range. It’s really fast paced, making it a great option for those who don’t consider themselves to be big readers. There’s an interesting mix of modern elements (such as motorcycles and robots) with fantasy (lots of magic and fantastical creatures). A quick, fun read with a happy ending, this novel definitely gives me adventure anime vibes!

I’d like to preface this review by saying this novel will have a huge appeal for younger audiences. My 6th-9th grade version of myself would have tore this novel up. It’s quick, snappy, and right to the point; something my 12 year old attention span would have loved.

This is not to say there is no valor to the novel as an adult reader. I found myself enjoying all the unique creatures of the world, and the intense fight scenes between characters with differing abilities.

A solid another round of editing would elevate this book to the next level. In some sections the prose felt a little repetitive, and there were a few occasions of grammatical errors, including times where the past and present tense collided.

Overall, the workings of a great story is here with some polishing, and a little more showing than telling. A quick read that any reader can find something to enjoy about it!

Every once in a while I like to branch out and read a book not normally found in my TBR. I am so glad that read this book. This fantasy adventure was everything I wanted in a quest.

Deronis Nazpaz is a war veteran and is also a mage. He will use his magic to heal. But he cannot use his magic to heal himself. He has roamed the world for years with no purpose until he is sent on a quest for the “Heart’s Desire” after healing an older man.

The world this author built was amazing. His rich descriptions grab you and pull you into the story. You will see what Deronis sees, and you will feel what Deronis feels. If you love fantasy, give this book a try.

I won’t give any spoilers, but the “Hearts Desire” was perfect. It was just what Deronis needed. In fact, it is something everyone needs.

Book Review: A Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza

A Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza has a lot of video game vibes, which I liked. The book is full of fast-paced adventures and features many different creatures, all described in great detail.

However, the romance in the story felt too rushed. I wish there had been more time spent building the connection between the love interests. Additionally, the book's short length made some parts of the plot feel hurried, with a lot going on and many characters to keep track of.

Despite these issues, the story itself was interesting enough to keep me reading until the end. If you enjoy quick reads with lots of action and cool characters, "A Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza" might be worth checking out. With more detail and character development, it could have been even better. Overall, I'd give it 3 stars.

The world building is great the author really allowed the readers to envisioned the world where the characters interact. The story is great too, Maybe try to get to the point a lot of time the author just keep on going on circles about the scenario in the chapters, like they already mentioned this things and they will mentioned it again in the next paragraph, it becomes redundant. Also, maybe they can refrain from repeating the name of the place over and over again. The tone and language use should also be just one. It gets confusing what era is the inspiration of the world because sometimes the wordings suggests that its like the 1800s but sometimes it looks like it set in the modern era. All in all, I do enjoy the book, the magic and the adventure. It a good read if you just want a break or a short read.

"Denying the Truth of the Heart is no different than denying everything about yourself."

I have no words to describe how awesome this book is 😍..fantasy and adventure swept me away from the first page.

The uniqueness of the book, which I loved, is the blend of magic and technology ( Mechanicos). Deronis Narpaz ( the blade mage) emerges as a compelling protagonist whose journey of uncovering the Secret of Galeeza was so thrilling and his self-discovery is both relatable and inspiring.

My reaction during the plot twist was 😮... Ohh!! It was the best part. I am happy that Narpaz got his heart's desire 🫶 I loved Greenstar and ofcourse her powers 🤭 This book deserves 5⭐
I would highly recommend this book !!

A story of an adventure for your Heart’s Desire. It was okay. I don’t regret reading it (added one more book to my yearly challenge) but the author’s writing style is not what I enjoy. Based on the cover, I was expecting more of a children’s book. Definitely not. I’d say YA at the absolute oldest. The story seems to fit an older-age children’s book more but there were aspects that wouldn’t be appropriate for younger than 18.

The plot was repetitive. The capture, unexpected rescue, and repeat in a different location got old. Also it really bothered me that the main character was referred to by several names. Just pick one. If it’s already obvious who the paragraph is talking about, there is no reason to rename the character.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this book. It wasn’t my style at all. But it may be yours!

I was asked to provide an honest review for this book, so here goes:

Narpaz, a war veteran searching for his greatest desire, sets out on an adventure of a lifetime. This story is filled with magic, heartbreak, and friendship. A short read, it is filled with A LOT of world building. So much so, that I found myself skimming through the paragraphs.

This book could potentially be marketed for an teenagers, as it follows a mail character and is filled with magic, dragons, terminator-esque robots, sword fights, and a few curse words here and there. There is one reference to “spice” but this book is not filled with it. Overall, it’s a good read, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The plot is sufficient and the descriptions of everything make it easy to picture.

Nova terra:The secret of Galeeza is a fast paced book that would be enjoyed by fantasy readers. The world is unique and filled with many mythical creatures and obstacles the main character Deronis Narpaz must endure to get his hearts desire. While others may find this book a little too fast paced, I honestly loved it, it was different from what I'm used to and that was refreshing for me as a reader. What I loved most is the powerful emotions felt by Deronis in the book after fighting in "the great defensive war" and having to face the loss of his loved ones. If you're a lover of fantasy like me,then you should definitely give this book a read.

Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza is an adventure story. The main character has been wandering since the end of the war, when he meets some characters that send him on a quest for his heart's desire.

To be honest, I struggled a bit with the writing, especially at the beginning. But I enjoyed the questing nature of the story. The main character has a good heart and he meets a variety of interesting people along the way. I am not really a gamer, but this story seems very much like I would imagine an adventure game would read.

3.5⭐️ “Life is measured not in years or events, but in moments.”

Nova Terra: The Secret of Galeeza was a fun and fast paced book with plenty of action. I enjoyed the mix of magic with technology like motorcycles that you typically dont see in fantasy, as well as the descriptions and imagination put behind monsters and other creatures in this world. I struggled a bit with some of the writing style and the fast romance but it was a good ending and I anticipate what happens next for Narpaz and Taraine.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was an entertaining read, high stakes fantasy with mystery and intrigue.
The main character feels like a vagabond wandering the world, trying to find his purpose after the war.

During this time, he is recruited to go to the mystical Galeeza, a place people believe to only be in fairytales. As he goes on his mission, he comes across various different people and falls in love, something he never thought would happen.

I enjoyed this book, but I feel the ending was a bit bland. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it and will read the next once released.

this was such a fun short fantasy novel. this book isn't normally something i would read but i really enjoyed it and i will definitely be reading the next book when it comes out. it gave me a mix of dungeons and dragons and video game vibes. i do wish that the fight scenes were a bit longer and more detailed.

if you enjoy short fantasy novels with magic, adventure and quests than Nova Terra is the book for you.

thank you @garlandredvine for reaching out to me. it was an honor to read and review your book.
