Homocidal is a good book which is filled with lust, betrayal, murder, drama, uncertainty about self, sex, and consequences.
The characters were well developed that you feel like you actual know these characters. I loved the storyline.
Homocidial was a story that could have had a lot more potential if it was focus more on the story then the sex scenes. There were some inconsistency in that made you question the writer and go back and re-read what you read to make sure that you were reading correctly . Again the storyline was somewhat developed but the sex scenes overshadow the story for me… There were some strong points but not many….
Despite the storyline being weak the characters where well developed. The Author makes you feel like you actual know these characters, and you can feel the pan and the things that they go thru… So to me that was this authors strong point was his character development…..
Repetitive use of the word "nigga" and other 'hood' gangster slang was just too much of a turn off for me even though the blurb did indicate this book would be leaning in that direction.
Omg this book definitely isnt for the faint hearted! You had me from the first chapter! Neil definitely got what he deserved! Tonic is crazy & fighting with his sexuality... on to part 2!
This book was really good. My very first time reading a book by the author. Tonic was off the chain. He was a thug in the streets and down low in the sheets. His actions make you want to know what he has in store next and who will be his latest victim.
Tonic didn’t have a great childhood and it mold him into what he was. Sadly, he doesn’t know how to love because he never had it before. Not even from his own mom. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Neil should’ve just left Tonic alone 🤦🏾♀️ One thing about Tonic, he not finna let nobody play with him. I was sucked in from the beginning & literally read it in one sitting. I’m curious to see how long Tonic will be on the run & how he goin move going forward.
Tonic was no joke and was not to be played with. I still feel like the whole Neil situation is gonna come back to haunt him ay some point. Off to read part 2. 5⭐
We get introduced to Tonic, a cold as ice killer who rapes men before he puts bullets in them. He goes too far and has to leave Atlanta for DC, where he has a cousin -- Kwame. Things go great for him, there, but his arrival sets a gang member named Neil against him...a guy who believes in getting even.
This was a quick read and the casual attitude about life and death is interesting, as is the gangsta patois. But it really needed a go-over by an editor. The grammar and misuse of words is mind-boggling. And I'm not talking about confusing "your" and "you're"... there are next to no commas being used, and misspellings that take you out of the story (spelling "whoa" as "Whoe"?) and things like using "lied on the bed" instead of "lay or laid on the bed," and on and on. I'd almost thought the story was being written in gangsta...but it wasn't consistent in that; sometimes the grammar was precise enough to show Lore does have an idea of what it should be.
Lore also fluctuates between giving you too much detail and not enough. There may be several paragraphs about a sex scene...then in two lines, someone's killed and the killer dresses and leaves. Very perfunctory...though I suppose it could be a deliberate choice to reflect the killer's emotional detachment.
I have no problem with a man on the edge, who's committed evil acts, being the hero -- or anti-hero -- of a story; my book, "How to Rape a Straight Guy", is proof of that. But this story reads more like a long outline of what could be a very good novel about a gay African-American killer who has to keep it on the down-low to keep from being offed by his homophobic boss. Too bad.
This was my first book by this author and it was an ok read. Although it was a quick read, I wish the author would've developed the character more. Some things didn't make sense and felt like the author was contradicting what he wrote earlier in the story. It went from past tense to present tense a few times with some editing issues. The sex scenes were descriptive but I wish other things were more descriptive as well. Past all of that, the story was fast-paced and had me wondering how it all was gonna end. The details of the ending kinda left me confused as well. I probably would give the sequel a shot...
Just got finished reading The1st part To Homocidal. This book was a very different read for me (Gay sex).It pulled me right in from the very first page.Tony A.k.a Tonic character was something else he is a down low Homo thug who after his best friend and mother do him wrong he vows to never leave any witnesses. This book was really good to me its a urban Thriller I'm starting part 2 now!!!! A must read!!!
This was a change of pace for me. Had a few errors, but I could overlook them. I would've gave it 5* but I was left hanging in the end. I would suggest this book to anyone that wants a change from the normal hood love books
Great book from beginning to end. Tonic was definitely a bad boy. straight thug in the streets and a Homo-thug behind closed doors. This storyline was very different. Deserving of every last five stars that available.
Homicidal (Deception of a Street Killa) a most read
Homicidal is very good, interesting to see how everything turns. I'm bout to crack open part 2. A street thug who is a DL killer also one knows that lil secret.
Tonic was as down low as anyone could be. He was the thuggish bad boy in the streets, but behind closed doors, the honor side definitely came to light. This was a very different but interesting storyline. I really enjoyed the read, and I can't wait to read part 2.
This guy is a killer he will kill for money and if he had sex with you he would. Kill you so you can never tell his secret, he is gay, now he is on the run from the law where will he end up?
Tonic was as low as they come. He covers up who he really is well but as soon as someone gets in his way it's a wrap. I wonder how this all will play out.
