The illustrations were, as expected, super-cute. Readers get scenes with Pikachu, Dedenne, Evee, Mime Jr., Smeargle, and Ludicolo, and cameo appearances from Wingull, Gyarados, Krabby, and possibly a few other Pokemon I don't know well enough to name. (Forgive me, I've only played a couple Pokemon games.)
In most cases, the various Pokemon could have been swapped out with just about anything else that might live in a similar environment and it wouldn't have made a difference. I was a little disappointed that the Pokemon didn't get more (or, in most cases, any) opportunities to show off their abilities.
That said, I'll probably still read Pikachu's Nighttime Adventure at some point.
The illustrations are amazing and so cute, the story is very heart warming! I also really liked that the mushroom Pikachu almost ate is a red amanita which is very bad to eat!!
A fun read for those who appreciate Pokemon - in particular Pikachu. Pikachu explores an island and discovers many friends. They enjoy the time together and build a home for Pikachu so they can stay too. Lovely bright colored illustrations.
It's so freakin cute! I loved it! The illustrations are absolutely darling and the story is sweet. There's a repetition sentence throughout the story, but it didn't bother me. It was cool to see everyone's house in the book. The ending was also very sweet.
Listen, anything with adorably illustrated Pokemon just being cottagecore friends and helping one another out is going to be a five stars. More books like this one please!
Huh. It's like Pokemon characters but not Pokemon world. Pikachu travels by book to an island where differemt Pokemon are living in houses and they all have a pleasant time.
They decided not to gender the Pokémon and it threw me off for a second while reading. Also they didn’t pick the most popular ones to be his friends and my daughter kept guessing Snorlax, lol.
