I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).
So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.
Mercy and Riley from Branded By Fire are expecting a baby. Mercy's brother, Bastien, Sage and Grey, are visiting for dinner. Heartwarming and domestic-blissful short story.
Mercy y Riley son adorables, me encanta leer escenas mas domesticas de estas parejas y me muero por leer la historia de Bastien y por que la autora escriba libros de Sage y Grey.
Oh this one was just unfair because now I want A FULL BOOK OF THE SMITH SIBLINGS WITH GENEROUS FLASHBACKS TO THEIR TIME GROWING UP TOGETHER (yes, this is a request for the full bikini contest story) BECAUSE THEY ARE A DELIGHT AND MAKE MY HEART SING. I know full well that I’m incredibly biased when it comes to rating these 1500-word stories (which is even on the longer side for them), but Riley revealed himself as the biggest perpetuator-of-relentless-dad-jokes-in-the-making, Mercy was luminous as always, the OTP remains legendary, and I delightedly grinned my way through it, so I don’t caaaaaaaaare.
Loved to see this normal life for Mercy and Riley after all the drama to finally find their place. Now they even have some cubs waiting in the oven, since Mercy is pregnant. I love to see those characthers we loved so much after their happily ever after.
My heart gets so happy everytime I read about Mercy and Riley, so in love and now pregnant. This was a cute and funny short between Riley, Mercy and her three brothers. Reading this also made me look forward to reading Bastien's novella. I can't wait to see who his mate might be.
Reviewed for THC Reviews “Making Dinner” is a short story of about six pages that takes place around the start of Heart of Obsidian in the Psy-Changeling series chronology. This one features mates Riley and Mercy. Riley is preparing a special dinner for a pregnant Mercy, and they’re joined by Mercy’s brothers, Bastien, Sage, and Grey. While the brothers tend the food, Riley and Mercy go on a little romantic run in the forest.
Riley and Mercy are a favorite couple for me in this series. I loved that Riley was playing chef for Mercy, and that they got to enjoy a romantic interlude while waiting for the food to cook. I also enjoyed Mercy’s playful banter with her brothers and learning a few tidbits about them. Bastien is dating someone, though I don’t know if it’s the same character who will become his heroine when his story is told in the novella, Secrets at Midnight. In any case, I look forward to seeing more of Mercy’s brothers later in the series. For now, though, I thoroughly enjoyed this little romantic moment for Riley and Mercy.
It was really nice to read this right after having read Bastien and Kirby’s novella :) You can tell exactly where this slice of life fits into that novella :) So, if you’re trying to read all the extras in order, you should really read Secrets at Midnight before this one, regardless of the fact Goodreads lists it as slotting before it—I read it right after Secrets at Midnight since Singh’s website put it in that order and I’m really glad I did :)
Loved this because we get a little hint to Secrets at Midnight. I also jut love Mercy's brothers and enjoy any time we get with them. They really are all hooligans'! :D
Estas escenas me están dando la vida, ya que nos muestran momentos cotidianos de las que son mis parejas favoritas. En este caso Riley y Mercy, quienes simplemente hacen la cena y comparten un momento en familia que no podría ser más adorable ❤️
