Few people ever get the opportunity to relive the most important moments in their lives. Kurt Rappold not only receives such a chance, his future employer is requiring it. There is a catch — he does not get to pick the memory and, unfortunately for him, he has things in his past that he very much wants to keep hidden.

Walking into the White Technologies building to fulfill a prerequisite for his dream job, he hopes the rumors about the company are greatly exaggerated. Because if they are true and the whole process is not a hoax, he doesn’t know if he can face the demons lurking in his shadows.

A really great read. Amazingly fast--it kind of just blips by--it still has an astounding amount of emotional depth to it, which is unusual for me to say in something this size. The plot was entertaining and kept me interested. I wouldn't say it was too surprising; I found that the events that occurred were fairly systematic and therefore easy to predict. It makes sense of course. It focuses on a very dark aspect of humanity, one which I can't seem to escape (since I've just read The Fields by Kevin Maher and had the same major element). With just the small amount of time put into it, it was already upsetting and one line in particular made my skin crawl. Had more emphasis and more time been spent on that scene, this could have elicited even more of a skin-crawly feeling from me.

LOVE this short story! It really grabs you in the beginning and makes you want to keep reading and find out what Kurt is getting himself into. I would put this in the suspense / dark fantasy genre's. GREAT description and very well written, I would highly recommend. I purchased this ebook on Amazon. What a surprising twist at the end!
