3.5 Star Review

I like this book but not as much as Book One. I will try to explain why.

To be honest I did not care for Dr. Ian MacGregor. He was a cold, selfish, unbending, uncompromising jerk. Yeah, I think that pretty much covers the bad. The good: he was a great doctor and he wants to help children who are born with birth defects. That is fantastic. When his ex fiance shows up at his office one day after being stabbed in the thigh, he was distant and acted uncaring. (I believe this was an act on the doctor's part.)

The heroine, Natasha White, was a beloved Broadway dancer, singer and actress. Ian wanted her to stay at his castle in the Highlands as he was going to build a new clinic there. It is seven years later and he is still in the US and never contacted her again. She always regretted the choice she made to return to the US and her Broadway career. She knew right away she'd made a mistake and tried to make it right with Ian. He was too stubborn and hurt to take her calls or reply to her emails. (See where the 'Jerk' comes in?) Did I mention he always thinks he is right??

Natasha is not what I consider a strong heroine. To me, she appears to be somewhat of a doormat and reminds me of a puppy dog following along with his master hoping for any scrap of a treat or attention. I would have liked to see more strength and boldness in her but that is just my opinion. The story was good although I was not thrilled with how Ian treated her, mainly by avoidance. She deserved better than that. When Natasha realizes she is in grave danger and the mob is after her, Ian steps in as her protector and it is then we see he still cares but to her he acts as if he doesn't, very indifferent.

Although these books could be read as a stand alone, they will have much more meaning if read in order.

Sophia Knightly is a great writer who gives her characters depth and growth and connection. I have read every book in this series and hope there are more to come.

And Sophia Knightly has done it again folks. Ian and Tasha's story is fantastic, a romance book with true heart. I recommend this to anyone looking for a romance that has second chance lovers with a little mystery/suspense to keep you on your toes, and a HEA.

Sophia has done it again, this was a great book! Heart Melter is the second book in the Heartthrob Series. The books in this series do not have to be read in order, they can act as a stand alone. I love Natasha and Ian and their story. Natasha and Ian were once engaged 7 years ago, they broke up because Natasha wanted to be on Broadway. Natasha gets hurt and instead of going to the hospital she goes straight to Ian who is a Scottish surgeon. When Natasha gets home, her apartment is trashed and the mob is threatening her life. Ian's family talks her into coming to Scotland to keep her safe. This book keeps you entertained from the first sentence. It has love, action, suspense and beautiful Scotland. Sophia describes the surroundings of Scotland and their adventures so you think you are actually there with them. If you like a romance and suspense then this book is for you.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Heart Melter is Sophia Knightly's second book in her Heartthrob series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book. The heroine, Natasha White, is Ronnie's best friend. Ronnie is featured in the first book Heart Raider.

In Heart Melter, Natasha White is a Broadway star who has to go into hiding because an ex-boyfriend was involved in the mob and now the mob thinks Natasha has secret info on them. Dr. Ian MacGregor, Natasha's ex-fiancee, steps in to protect Natasha.

Honestly, I am not usually a fan of reunited lovers but Sophia Knightly did such a great job on this story line that I quickly forgot my initial dislike. Natasha and Ian have a great chemistry together. The plot twists and turns kept me on my toes and the drama wasn't too overbearing, just the right mix of romance, intrigue, and interesting side characters. Highly recommend this novel.

Heart Melter is a wonderful addition to the the Heartthrob series. I love second chance romance novels and Ian's and Natasha's second chance is one of the very best I've read. I love how protective Ian is of Tash. I also love how Tash is open and honest when it comes to her love for Ian. Heart Melter is a feel good romance you would not want to miss.

The box set itself was my first introduction to both the Heartthrob series and to the author which caused me to fall in love with the stores entitled Heart Melter and Heart Tamer. In fact I will go a little more beyond what I have previously written and boldly state that it has been a long time since I have read suspenseful romance that have been this devouring!

I literally read this complete box set of the volumes two and three within a single day because I could not put my kindle down. With that being written I will move forward with the review and single out both of the stories beginning with volume two which is Heart Melter. This book was my favorite out of this box set. I loved both Natasha and Ian's story. Both were such sharp, outmatched characters that were entirely perfect for one another one even if the characters themselves were not willing to admit to such a sensual attraction. Add in the fact that a Scottish castle was involved and a murderer on the lose seeking Natasha's life and I was hooked on this book.

As for Heart Tamer I think this book was a little more mellow than what I was expecting and that was a little disappointing. I was on a thrill ride with the previous book as Kate and Alec's story was more of a second chance romance that came with the typical standards that such romances often do. Kate was not nearly as strong as a character as Natasha from the first book and she seemed to be unsure of herself. As for Alec I think the same could be said about him. He didn't seem to trust his instincts either. Still, I enjoyed the third book of the series but I only wished the suspense would have been as riveting as the second.

Naturally I would recommend volumes two and three. I have yet to read the first book of the series which I will point out the fact that is not required to the read series in order because I did not feel lost within my reading. However I would suggest reading this series in order because I feel that is always what is best for the reader. I plan to continue to read and to review the entire series and honestly I can hardly wait to continue my reading of these highly romantic novels.

-If it's not already clear I reviewed Heart Melter and Heart Tamer within a box set.

Heart Melter, Book 2 Heartthrob Series, Sophia Knightly
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
I was really looking forward to this but...sometimes I get it wrong . As I continued reading I found myself getting critical to much, rather than falling in with the story. If the characters and plots are realistic, then I tend to overlook the small stuff, but when it starts creeping in then I know the story isn't working for me.
So, I was enjoying the story, looking forward to Natasha meeting Ian's current on off girlfriend. That was a big hook for my interest in the book, I thought that would bring in some great clash of characters, bitch snark...you know the stuff. Instead, although we hear about her, we never get to meet her. Then there's Ian, yes he's a heart throb, but he seemed to blow hot and cold over Natasha, blaming her for everything. Her dog – Scotland is in UK, we're very proud of our rabies free status, and There Is No Way you can just bring in a dog from US with either 6 month quarantine, or lots of rabies shots and form filling and vet checks.....You just can't hope on a private plane and fly one in.
The “Mob” - well, it was a good idea, but in practise the police and Mob crew came out badly. The police were a shambles, and as for Natasha finding the pen-drive they're looking for – along with that being why the Mob are out for her, well, what a sensible idea, pop it back in her case and then next day take it to a friend of Ian's at a college, before eventually telling the police and handing it over via a third person. Very secure.....and poor little Arthur, what Home allows people to just take kids like that – when one of the couple is right in the middle of a dangerous, life threatening police operation...
Nah. I guess I’m too critical as I can see other readers Love this book. Back to what I keep saying – not all books suit all readers, it doesn't mean they're good or bad, just that reading tastes differ and for me this book didn't work. It's priced at £2.48 for 278 pages.
Stars: 2.5. Others 5* love it, just didn't cut it for me though.

A hero with a yummy Scottish accent and his ex-fiancée whose life is in danger promises another fine installment in Sophia Knightly’s Heartthrob Series. Threats from the mafia, a journey to Scotland, a little boy in need of love, and re-discovering old feelings all made this a very entertaining book.

Dr. Ian MacGregor wants nothing more than to return to his homeland of Scotland and open a clinic where he will be able to help people in need. Unfortunately he has someone blocking his way and until he gets past that hurdle, he’s still working in New York. The last person he ever expects to see passed out in his office is his ex-fiancée from 7 years ago.

Natasha (Tasha) White is about to open a Broadway show that will do great things for her career when she is attacked on a crowded street. Worried about emergency services and a lasting scar she winds up seeking the help of someone she knows would rather not see her. After her apartment is trashed and it becomes evident her last boyfriend has her involved with unsavory characters Ian vows to protect her.

From their first scene together in this book, it was evident the
se two had chemistry and a connection like no other. It was also easy to see that Ian was still hurt from their break-up and not willing to let bygones be bygones. At times I wanted to bop both of these characters up the head; Ian for being a stubborn ass and Tasha for wanting things her way without regard to Ian. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other again both in and out of bed, watching them interact with Arthur a little boy from an orphanage who Ian was helping, and working together to get Tasha out of trouble and put her attacker behind bars.

Heart Melter was a steamy suspenseful story yet there was still plenty of romance to it as well making it an enjoyable read.

Another great book by Sophia Knightly!! Book two in the Heartthrob Series was fantastic, with love, romance, and suspense. Dr. Ian MacGregor, is a Scottish surgeon, whose dream is to practice in his home of Scotland. Natasha White, is an actress, dancer and singer, who has always had the dream of performing on Broadway. This is part of the reason that Tasha broke off her engagement to Ian, seven years ago. They never quit loving one another, and the chemistry between them is still there. When someone cuts Tasha's leg, she immediately goes to Ian, to get patched up. Little does she know this was no accident, so when her world gets turned upside down, and she finds herself targeted by the mob, Ian comes to her rescue, and swiftly takes her to his home in Scotland to protect her. Can Ian and Tasha, find love and trust again? Can they find a way to compromise so that they both can have their dreams come true? Can Ian keep Tasha safe from the mob? You will have to read the book to find out, and it can be read as a stand alone book, but is much better if you read Heart Raider first. I loved the other characters in the book also, and was surprised at who was trying to take part of Ian's home from him. I also loved the little dog, talk about a diva!! Great job, Sophia Knightly! If you love a romance with love and suspense, you have to read this one.

Sophia has such a wonderful way with a story. She knows how to bring mystery, romance and family into every book she writes and this is no different. Each story is uniquely it's own and this one added in Scotland to the mix. Sophia never disappoints me with her romance and love that comes through her stories.

Heart Melter a story of Natasha ( Tasha) a Broadway musical actress, singer and dancer and Ian a Scottish doctor who has a heart for helping the ones that can't help themselves. 7 years ago Tasha broke off her engagement to Ian for her career and destroyed herself and Ian's hearts in the process...now to the present when Tasha's life takes a turn for the worse and she ends up with a nasty gash on her leg, she goes to the place that is closest, Ian's office. Tension is in the air but he still feels the need to protect her. Quickly as things get worse for Tasha Ian whisks her away to his castle in Scotland to protect her and maybe rekindle the love they once had and never let go of.

I loved this story and it had just enough of each element of love, romance, mystery and family.

Well, it looks like Sophia Knightly has once again written an amazingly perfect contemporary romance. Miss Knightly's writing style had never ceases to amaze me. She has perfected in such a short time, what takes many published authors decades to discover.

Heart Melter is book 2 of the Heartthrobs series, which follows the lives of three heart sisters who met and summer camp, as children, and have been inseparable ever since.

I love Sophia's works because I always know what to expect.

 A sexy stubborn alpha male
 A strong, smart, sensitive heroin
 A heart wrenching love story about mistake, betrayal, trust and redemption.
 A sprinkle of some cheesy, yet adorable flirtation
 An ending that leaves you sighing in happiness at the well-earned HEA that the characters deserve.

Really, how could you NOT love that!

4 Swoon Worthy Fairies!

This is the story about second chances in love; by the one who got away. I love the author, and this book didn't not disappointed me. It is a very good book and left me satisfied. Not to be missed. Recommended. 5 stars review.
Natasha White, a Broadway rising star injured after an attack on the street. She rushed and stumbled (acting) in Dr. Ian MacGregor's office her ex-fiance surgical clinic. They were once engaged in Scotland but she left her to pursue her dream in Broadway years ago. Ian, burned by their breakup, still patch her up, but cannot deny their passionate chemistry. As the incident lead death threads by the mob, Ian bundle Natasha up to his Scottish castle to seek refuge. Isolated in their first love scenic beauty, they revisit their past mistake and try to curve a different path towards the future together. With evil shadows lurking behind, can they finally earned their much sought up happiness or let it float away?

I've read the first three books in this series before writing this review. I've noticed a lot of common themes in the books and am not sure if it was meant to be that way or just how it turned out. The main characters are reunited with someone from the past, there is always someone trying to kill the main character, and it seems like they are a second chance at love stories. This book is much better than the first one! Book two mostly took place in Scotland which is a nice change for me because I normally read Scotland settings in Historical Romance books. I think the setting made the book more enjoyable because it focuses more on the conflict between the main characters and why their relationship came together or fell apart. The ending had a twist I didn't see coming. It was a cute love story and was written well. The series doesn't end here so there are more characters to revisit and new ones to meet.

What do an actress, the mob and a Scottish Dr. have in common? They are all in the Heart Melter by Sophia Knightly and the main characters.

Dr. Ian MacGregor was engaged to actress Natasha White at one time but they are no longer together. The mob is out to kill Natasha because they believe she has secret information on them from a former boyfriend. When Natasha is hurt she goers to the closest place where she feels safe, which is Ian's office. The tension is high but Ian still helps her and still feels the need to protect her. He takes her to Scotland to his castle where he feels it is safer.

As always Sophia Knightly keeps you interested from the start with mystery, romance and a plot that has twists in just the right places. It is a must read.

I absolutely lived this book. It kept you on the edge of your seat from the beginning. List love hopefully found.... Going into hiding from The mob.... Get to visit beautiful Scotland. This story if a wonderful singer on broadway and a doctor that were once together... Can they find that again and what does each of them have to give up or gain. A love story for all. Suspense at every turn until the end.
Their is also a little boy and a puppy that will add to the mix.
I would recommend this to everyone. Sophia Knightly has done in again and I thank you .
One more little thing that means a lot to me ... The lawyer has mine name.... Saundra Armstrong. I won a contest for this honor and it has been so exciting to see my name in a book. ❤

Sophia, I enjoyed this book also, it was a great love story. It follows Natasha, she lives in New York and she is a dancer/actress. Her ex boyfriend was involved with the mob and died in an accident. The mob goes after Natasha because they believe she has a flash drive that they want. She is hurt going home one day for lunch and she runs to her other ex love Dr Ian. He was very much in love with Tasha and she chose her career over marriage. He wants to protect her from the mob so he takes her to Scotland and his castle to protect her. There is a lot going on in this book and you will enjoy it. It is great

I enjoyed reading this book. It had two interesting career professionals who were involved 7 years prior with an engagement broken. They have interesting lives in such different ways. That and the romantic castle in Scotland location made the book interesting. I liked how the sex sciences were hot and not graphic. I cared about the characters and they seemed to be grown up and at a better place to be. They just take time to figure it out. The bad guys and gals seem real bad or juicy parts in the story line. I enjoyed every bit of this sweet story. I still wonder how Danielle fits in but maybe in a later book? ARC from Netgalley for honest review.

Dr. Ian MacGregor and Natasha White have a past. And Ian does not want to go down that road again. Both have gone on with their lives, but when danger throws them together again, will they put those things behind them? Traveling to Ian's homeland of Scotland to escape the danger following Natasha, brings them together more and more. Can they find who is following them and find love again? I enjoyed Heart Melter. Sophia's writing and story lines are one of the best in contemporary writing. From New York to Scotland, I loved it. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys second chance love and romance with HEA.

I really enjoyed Heart Melter,#2 in the Heartthrob Series! The characters are wonderful. Natasha, the main character was loveable, but not overbearing and Ian, Natasha's old flame set to flaming again, was the all around perfect Scottish man. The setting of the story, while starting in New York, brought Scotland and many sites of Scotland to life. I loved the way the author described the surroundings and adventures while Natasha and Ian were in Scotland. I look forward to others in this series and would highly recommend the Heartthrob Series to anyone looking for a sweet love story!

Natasha & Ian are ancient history. They have both moved on since they were in love seven years ago. Natasha is the toast of Broadway and Ian is a respected physician and humanitarian but when she gets in trouble--Ian is the first person she thinks of and Ian can't resist protecting her.
Heart Melter is one part suspense and two parts romance. The chemistry between the lovers is well developed and she has wonderful secondary characters that add depth to the story line.
Sophia Knightly's novel are sexy, fun and engaging. Heart Melter is a great addition to her body of work.

This is the story of Natasha and her ex-fiancee, Ian. Nastasha is one of Ronnie's best friends and Ronnie was the main character in Book 1 of this Series. (Ronnie has a very brief appearance in this book.)

I like this story as it had love, suspense, and a couple twists. There was at least 2 times, I was caught off guard with how events unfolded.
It was also a story of forgiveness and rekindling of love with new
beginnings.

I hope there is another book in this Heartthrob Series, as I know, there is a childhood friend of both Ronnie and Nastasha.

This book was ok. I had a hard time with Dr. Ian. He just seemed cold and arrogant. Even when the author made him kind it just didn't seem right. He was possessive, but I didn't find it thrilling and admiring, I found like it was an obligation or she was just another piece of art to have on his house. He treated her like a child most of time and she was incredibly naive for someone who grew up around Broadway. The sex between them wasn't shower inducing and at the end I just skipped over it.
