With Android Take Better Pictures with Your Android Phone by photographer Colby Brown, you'll Grab your Android phone, and start documenting your life today!
This ebook was written when Android 4.2.2 was the latest version, and while it has some basic instructions you can still make use of today (use both hands! Try this specific brand of tripod and mount!), the majority of the book goes over the basic camera interface and posting to social media services. These days, if you know how to use an ebook on Android, you probably already know this stuff, of course.
This book was much better than I expected for a free book. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the tips and new apps I discovered as I result of reading this book. Sure some of it was obvious but I lot of it was new to me even though I've taken a few old school photography classes. This is one of the few free books that I liked enough to pay for.
The writing is good and easy to read, and the illustrations help a lot. But the information is pretty basic, you could figure most out yourself by playing around with your phone. And the omission of Aviary in the third party editing apps section makes me think the book is either biased or ill researched.
Smartphones are awkward to hold and take high-quality pictures with, and this book had many recommendations for ways to improve the process. Everything from getting better color balance, to using filters, to app recommendations. I'm definitely taking better photos now than I was a month ago.
