One of Harlequin themes I like is childhood friends become lovers. That's the reason I read this book. Now I'll give you 2 different ways to tell the story.

1. Childhood friend. Hero's playboy, Heroine's virgin. Hero didn't realize he loved heroine so he slept around. Finally he realized and the playboy became a besotted lover. This is romantic.

2. Childhood friend. Hero's playboy, Heroine's virgin. Hero knew all along that he loved heroine, had plan for them together, WHILE he slept around. This is NOT romantic.

Okay, if you say, it's a long long time (20 years in fact) so I'd understood the reason H slept around (although the story's pretty confusing, there's some part that said he knew she'd always be out of reach, but some part it said he knew he'd have her). What I couldn't understand was Hero still slept with the blonde, AFTER their fateful first-kiss-night. Humph.

At this point I was ready to smack his head. Really? You loved her so much but you couldn't keep your zip closed?? I'd think that if you loved someone so much you'd be able to restrain yourself. It's not likely you'd be dead if you're a virgin at 26. Never heard about masturbate, I guess.

Anyho, this book is good. The story was intense and I like the hero's jealousy. The heroine's a successful artist, she's independent, strong, and great. I loved her. What ruined the story for me was the blonde at the beginning. It kept reeling in my mind so I couldn't enjoy it as I wanted to be. The story was SOO good.

So you know now the reason I'm so frustrated and pissed off. I want to love this book but I can't help to hate it either. UGH! Hence the 4 stars.

Molly thinks that her friend Garrett is the love of her life after he kissed her at a masquerade ball. Julian, Garrett’s little brother is Molly's best friend since forever and the man he has loved her for years but he never told her. In order to get Garrett to take notice of her, she asks Julian to pretend that they are couple in the hope that Garrett will get jealous and fall for her. Julian accepts to be her fake boyfriend but in reality his plan is to show her that he is the one for her and not his brother. Molly has no idea that Julian has been in love with her since forever but he won't confess it because his mother threatens to disown him if he seduces sweet innocent Molly.

Loved this book. It was steamy, romantic and passionate. I loved Julian's jealousy and insecurities. He was a manwhore but still eaten alive with jealousy when he thought Molly was in love with Garrett. The ending broke my heart. I wanted Julian to grovel a little more and I wanted to see them with a cute baby.

One of my favorite tropes in this Harlequin Desire, the friends to lovers.Loved this book, loved the hero, his feelings for the heroine that the reader knows straight off.The heroine was clueless, but in a lovable way. This is the second book about the Gage brothers and looking forward to the third.Really enjoyed this read and this couple. 4.5****

Good book. When Molly was three she and her sister were orphaned and went to live with the Garrett family. Ever since that time, she and Julian, who had been nine at the time, were best friends. The kiss at the masquerade was amazing and made her think that he was her soul mate. She freaked out a little at the time, but now wants him to know that she wants him too. So she asks her buddy Julian to help show him. I liked Molly, but I found her conviction that it had been Garrett who kissed her a bit unbelievable. Garrett had mostly ignored her, always treated her as a sister, and she had never had any kind of feelings for him before. On the other hand, she and Julian had had a special relationship from the beginning. They'd been able to tell each other anything and had a unique closeness. Julian would periodically be sent away and she was always miserable while he was gone. She had never been interested in dating anyone though she'd had a crush on Julian for awhile, before the family interfered. In spite of being convinced it was Garrett, suddenly it was Julian she was reacting to and dreaming about. When the truth finally came out she was stunned and hurt, then angry. Then she realized that she had loved him all along. Things went along pretty well, then there was a misunderstanding and Julian acted like a major jerk. I wish she had made him work a little harder for her forgiveness.

I had mixed feelings about Julian through a lot of the book. I was pretty sure from the git go that he was the kisser so that was no surprise. As he thought about the fact that he had loved her forever, I couldn't understand why he kept sleeping with those other women, especially the one she saw him with after the ball. I did enjoy the way that he was determined to make her see that he was the right man for her, not Garrett. I really enjoyed seeing him look back and remember his feelings for her, and his frustration at the way his family kept telling him he wasn't good enough for her. I loved his way of preparing his future and how he did it under the radar of his family. I really liked seeing Julian get Molly moved into his apartment under the guise of "helping" her and how natural it was for them to be together. Their teasing of each other and how well each obviously knew the other one was fantastic. The only time that didn't work was when Julian's jealousy of what he thought was Molly's feelings for Garrrett made him act like a total idiot. I thought he was a little too cocky at the end and should have had to grovel a little more.

This is my first time reading a book from this author and I was not disappointed at all. It had in my opinion the perfect mixture of friendship, attraction, humor and passion, with a little misunderstanding thrown in.

Sister’s Molly and Kate Devaney were raised in the Gage household after their father was killed protecting Garrett Gage and his father. At the age of 3 little Molly Devaney and Julian Gage become fast friends and are inseparable. There is an adorable part to this story of when they first meet … just precious. But the family warns Julian and that Kate and Molly are to be treated like sisters. But reading this story you learn how they truly are the very best of friends.

After Molly is kissed at a Masquerade Party, she mistakenly thinks it is Garrett that has kissed her and enlists her best friend in the world “Julian” to help make Garrett jealous. And so starts the fun with these two, between text message and fake kisses that are real it hit all the right notes with this reader.

Julian has been in love with Molly for what seems like forever. Since he has been warned not to get involved with her, he has become something of a playboy. But the only woman he has ever really wanted was Molly. He is tired of having other people tell him what he can and cannot do.

I loved both of the main characters in this story. It had me laughing, crying, and going aaaahhh. I loved how the first time together was handled. I thought the passionate scenes were well written. I enjoyed this book so much I have already gone back and downloaded the previous book in the series titled “Paper Marriage Proposition” I cannot wait for the third book in the series to come out.

There were so many funny lines in this story. This is just one of many.

“So! Are you two finished in here – or do we have to call the fire department?”

Really enjoyed Julian and Molly's love story!

Molly was sweet, innocence but also very strong in who she was. Julian grew on me, as the story progresses you can see his deep love and dedication to Molly. What made the book extra special was the strong bound they has friends from when they had been children, loved that.

Can't wait for Kate's story and Garret's!

Sigh. I liked the basic story but I could not get past how unbelievable the heroine was. A super successful artist and a 23 year old virgin? Not likely. Molly comes across as sheltered and naïve and I didn't enjoy reading about her.

This book had so much promise. I have been having a lot of problems with the Desire line. The stories just don't pack the punch that they used to. I love friends to lovers stories. The problem is that Jules and Molly are almost family, or at least they were raised like family.

In Wrong Man, Right Kiss, 23 year old Molly Devaney decides after one kiss at a masquerade that Garrett Gage is the man for her. Huh? If only it were that easy.

I think what my problem with this story was how unrealistic it was. Molly is a rising star in the art world and she's only 23? She's commanding prices around $150,000 for a mural? Oh and she's a virgin. That's almost as bad as Julian sleeping his way through all the women in the world because he was told he couldn't have Molly and she's the woman that he's loved since she was a girl.

~sigh~

I like romances because of the fantasy involved, but sometimes things can get to be a bit too out there, and this book is an example of things being a bit too much.

I found myself thinking many times over, this story would have worked better in the historical genre. Julian was such a rake, but he was too nice of one.

Then there was how Molly easily switched her affections from one brother to another once she learned the truth about her masquerade man.

The book does have its moments. The sex scenes are steamy and spicy and everything you could possibly want in a book from the Desire line. Molly and Jules also have some wonderful scenes, especially early on, before the fake relationship/real relationship starts.

I like Red Garnier's writing style and I loved the characters, I just wish I could have gotten on board with their story.

I hate writing reviews but I just love Red Garnier`s books I even read Spin Devil and really enjoyed the plot of Bona Fide Liar and loved The Bilionaire`s Club! Can`t wait for the next Gage read!
Molly is 23 she`s blooming later than girls nowadays being sheltered and in a world of her art and Julian John who is her best friend, her everything till one kiss under masks that awakens and intrigues her so she thinks herself in love with the wrong brother! It`s just beautiful how those two molded and grown for eachother,I liked their insecurities and clumsiness while at the same time everything between them feels so right and so wrong because if they lose eachother what is left?! Also, they acted somehow age appropriate and without bitterness and JJ being horny and charming 26 year old...

My very first of Red Garnier and I loved it!
I didn't realize it's the second book of the Gage Brothers series.
A friends-to-lovers, pretended lovers, PDA theme. One of my most favorite theme!

It's almost easy to guess who's the mysterious man Molly kissed at the masquerade party.
I really really loved Julian. And I loved the chemistry, the connection, the bantering between Julian and Molly. I loved the fact that he loved her for twenty years... she did, too, but didn't realized it until Garrett asked her.

I just thought that it ended waaaay to early! I want mooooore!
And I can't wait to read for Garrett and Kate's. And I guess I have to read the first, which was about Landon.

Wasn’t impressed by the title but I had the book to hand and the blurb on the back made it sound interesting. I do love a besotted hero. Great storyline although it was quite fantastical. Millionaires with trust funds. A 23 year old artist who had already donated her first million to a good cause. In the end it was a nice story but not really believable. YA.

(keluarganya gitu banget jg sih kwkwkw)
Bahkan Julian sll di kirim ke luar negeri, dr liburan, summer camp atau acara apapun ketika salah satu dr keluarganya mendapati Julian memandang Molly dengan tatapan intens kek Wolf (gw jd inget lagunya EXO "auuuuu..." LOL)

(ngakak gw..)

Julian, awalnya kesel banget pas Molly bilang kl Garrett adalah cinta dlm hidupnya.. dgn perasaan terbakar esmosi, Julian menyarankan agar Molly membuat Garrett cemburu, dgn cara.. pura2 jadi pacarnya!
tapi dalam hati si Julian bilang "gw bakalan buka mata lo deh, Garrett itu ga akan pernah jd cinta dlm hidupmu! selamanya!"
yeah.. bisa ketebak si, Molly yg dodol ini menganggap saran Julian amat sangat keren! trus pura2 deh mereka meyakinkan orang2 disekitarnya bahwa mereka pacaran, bahkan Molly pindah ke apato Julian..
tapi apa bener mereka cuma pura2? dan bagaimana reaksi keluarga Gage + Kate? secara dr kecil mereka sll dipisahkan satu sama lain?

seruuuu bacanya! gw kesel banget sama keluarganya Julian, tp ya mereka sayang banget sama mereka b2 juga si..
belum Molly yg dodol, blm lagi Julian yg gregetan ngadepin Molly.. kocak.. sukaaa...
**backsound EXO - Wolf.. AUUUUU** hmpfh

Title: Wrong Man, Right Kiss

Series: N/A

Author: Red Garnier

Genre: Romance

Blurb: What happens when the masks come off?

When one of the supersexy Gage brothers blows Molly Devaney away with a scorching kiss at a masquerade ball, she thinks she's met her soul mate. But why does her masked seducer act as if she doesn't exist the next day? To win him over, she'll make him jealous, so she turns to his brother Julian Gage, who offers to play the role of her lover.

But Julian is playing for keeps. There's nothing fake about the way this woman makes him feel, and now he's going to show her just which Gage brother is right for her....

Thoughts: Molly was a recipient of a kiss that changed her life. One kiss led her to her soul mate, but her soul mate isn't who she thinks! She believes that her best friend's brother, Garrett, is her mystery man - so who better to give her advice on how to win him over than her best buddy Julian? Only Julian has a secret - he was the one who kissed her that night! And he decides to set up a plan that allows him to get closer to his best friend - on much more intimate terms than ever before - and also win her as his own!

The book actually starts off a few weeks after the masquerade ball, which was an interesting change. Most of these books that I had read previously regarding masquerade ball themes have started either right before, or during. But that made this one a bit more interesting and intriguing. At first you really don't know what Julian's motivations were in kissing Molly - especially since when she comes over to ask him for his help in winning his brother's heart, she's confronted with a female that has just crawled out of his bed! We do eventually get Julian's viewpoint on things, but in the beginning -as a reader - you're not quite sure which direction the author plans to go with it. And for this book it really paid off - your interest is captured, yet your also intrigued on where this journey is going - which makes you really eager to turn each page!

I had never read a book by this author before, but she did an amazing job weaving the story and also coming up with little tidbts of information that the characters knew about each other. She really made you feel the connection between Julian and Molly, as well as the amazing history that existed between the characters. I fell in love with all the characters, especially Julian and Molly, but I admit I was a bit frustrated at Julian's stubbornness in the end. And I just really wanted to cry with Molly - it was that emotion engaging.

I enjoyed this book immensely! So much so, that I looked for more books by this author. And while this one is not "officially" a series book, some of the other characters do have their own stories. For example, Landon, one of the other Gage brothers was in a prior book, Paper Marriage Proposition. And Kate, Molly's sister, is expected to get her own book soon - which I will be definitely be keeping an eye out for!

This book is adorable! Or rather, the characters are adorable. Molly gets kissed by a man in a mask, and assigns the kiss to the wrong brother. She believes it's Garrett who kissed her, while the real kissing man is his younger brother, Julian, who's been in love with Molly since he was five.

Molly ropes Julian in to help her catch Garrett. She tells him all about the kiss, and under the guise of helping her, Julian plans to keep Molly all to himself. The bond between Molly and Julian is unbreakable, at least until Julian believes Molly betrays him to his own brother. When Molly loses Julian, she realizes where her heart really lays. Winning back Julian's trust is a lot harder than she thinks, and he doesn't come around easily.

Which I loved. Most times when the hero and heroine have a falling out, one or the other comes around too quickly, making the ending feel rushed. Not so with this book. Which makes the story stand out. When you read thousands of pages of stories a year, some of the stories tend to bleed into each other, making it hard to remember which plot belongs with which book. Especially when the blurb is less than informative. I have a couple books like that I haven't yet reviewed because the stories bled into each other, and I can't for the life of me remember what the books were about. This book is different enough to be memorable.

I know I say this a lot, but I loved these characters. Molly is fun and cute and so confused about where her heart belongs, you can't help but love her. And Julian... Oh who doesn't want a Julian all to themselves. I just wish he'd been more firm in professing his love to Molly. He was a little on the slow side, making me want to give him a good shake.

As a feel-good-book, this one is perfect. A nice read for long, cold nights. A glass or mug of your favorite beverage, and you're good to go. In case you wondered, I drank coffee while reading this one... :D

fuck god damn it. The book was full of sexual anxiety and tension between Molly and Jullian. They are best friends since childhood and my favorite concept of all.

The story of them mesmerizied, beguiled and enticed me throughout and it was literally panty soaking wet story. The story has fervent sexual scenes whether it be a sex or just a kiss or a make out scene.

The author was able to bring out a perfect scenario of "a best friends to lover story" the way I like it.

the girl and boy live together.
they crushed for ages.
they were separated and they both suffered.
they are both emotional for each other and cannot let others claim em.

that's the way the author managed to claim a re-readable tag from me. The story has earned 4 stars because it had the capacity and the capability to elicit emotions from me. I'd be lying if I'd say that I wasn't turned on or if that I wasn't wishing to be there to replace Molly. god damn, I was jealous of her! such hotness that I needed to literally fan off myself to ease my emotions burning up in real.

rock on RED GARNIER!!!

Given to me in ebook format via www.netgalley.com.

Slight downside with this ebook edition in that the text was very small and with no way (whilst reading on a kobo at least) to increase the text size or spacing to anything more comfortable. Was easier to read on a laptop using ADE's magnifier.

Shortish book and it takes approximately half the time for Molly to realise that Garrett isn't the man for her, and that it has always been Julian.

There is the mandatory finding each other, then losing each other only to get each other again.

Meanwhile there is some very sexy scenes and some tear inducing ones. Whilst a standalone book, I can tell it's part not the first in the series. You don't really suffer but there are some small things. For example, coming in cold to these characters, it's a bit unbelievable that Molly would so quickly try and make a play for Garrett (by making him jealous), and why Garrett seems so unresponsive, but once the dynamic gets to Julian and Molly, which makes it all the more better. There is a follow up book with Molly's sister Kate and, I suspect, Garrett.

I would happily read other books in this series, and by this author

This book tells the story of Molly who has thought that Garrett is the love of her life after he kissed her at a masquerade ball and Julian, Garrett’s little brother. In order to get Garrett to take notice of her, she asked Julian to pretend that they are couple in the hope that Garrett may come to realisation and come after her. Julian agreed to be her boyfriend but he has all the intention that to prove to her that he is the one for her and not his brother. Molly have no idea that Julian have love her since their childhood and the only thing that prevented him for confessing his love is his mother’s threat to disown him if he ever get together with molly and each time their relationship have a chance to develop further, his family will ship him away. Molly is getting frustrated when Garrett is not affected with the drama created by her and only when Molly poured her heartout crying that Julian realised the reason for Molly’s fascination over his brother.

I have my reservation over Molly for her fascination over Garrett whom she thought is her soul mate even though Garrett is mostly ignored her and seems to develop interest towards her elder sister than her. I like the fact that Julian is willing to sacrifice for Molly when he decided to leave his family business and establish his own business in order to be out of his family’s control over his intention to stake a claim on Molly. Overalll, I trule enjoyed reading this story and I finished reading almost the whole book only on one seating.

My view

Who needs Christian Grey when you can have Julian John Gage? I really like this book. It is sexy and sweet at the same time and the build-up between the two characters is hot. The physical and emotional attraction between them take center stage. The heroine is brave and independent, just like the hero.

They had a relationship since they were very young and their friendship always went further than that in everyone’s eyes, but theirs. Everyone will want to be love by a man like Julian John, ready to plan his life in order to have you. He is the perfect prince in shinning armor with a big heart and a comparable ego.

All the characters are well written and their interactions had a purpose. The reader can see the love between the main characters before them, but the book is not predictable. The book premise is common in romance novels, but the twists and turns are unique to this story. The book is difficult to put down after you start reading and wondering how two people can be so right for each other without feeling fictitious. They are more than lovers, they are best friends.

What I liked the most

I love Julian John Gage’s big heart.

I wanted more of

I wanted some extra chapters by the end, just to have the opportunity to keep snooping in the characters life.

Who should read it

Any romantic at heart will love this book and root for Julian and Molly.

I love this book. It grabs you from the beginning and will not loosen its hold. I couldn’t put the book down. Ms. Garnier put the perfect amount of angst and steaminess in her story. I loved Molly and everything about her. She was a sweet, sassy firecracker. Julian was the playboy, but only because he’s been warned away from the woman he’s loved forever, since he was a child. These two knew at a very young age that they were meant to be together, even if they fought it for several years.

The one thing I didn’t love about the book is how quickly Molly forgives Julian. I wished she would’ve made him suffer just a little bit. Of course, I can’t complain, they did steam it up again. This is a great short read that will steam up your kindle and keep you flipping the pages for more. I definitely want to read the book that came out before this one about Landon and Beth and can’t wait to read Garret and Kate’s story.

Basically, its a story of two person who love each other since forever but for a lot of reasons they never get to be together. The book surprised me once I tried to finish it for real. I lost interest with the story for a while when the female main character began to annoy me with her insistence in trying to make someone else jealous by having a fake relationship with her guy best friend.

It began rather cliched with the character kissing someone in a masquerade and then think she found her soulmate. But once the story began to clear off with the nagging annoying things, there was a depth to the story around Julian who tried to forget the one he loves and people who tried to draw a wedge between them. While frankly Molly was unbearable with her scheme and her cluelessness to the obvious in front of her, in the end its a quite lovable short romance.

Really fun story. The banter between the hero and heroine is absolutely fantastic, whether they're teasing each other, arguing, or sharing an emotional moment.

The first half of the book was, unfortunately, really slow for me. I put this book down a few times. However, the characters were interesting enough to keep me going back to pick the book up again and the story picked up at the halfway mark.

At one point, I wasn't sure I understood why the hero hadn't said something to the heroine about their kisses, and sometimes their communication was a little lacking, but overall I enjoyed the story. I really liked how their lifelong friendship made their romantic connection so much deeper.

The ending was very emotional--at one point a little tempestuous, but overall very romantic.

Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the e-ARC of this book.

Love Love Love how Red Garnier writes!!

**Received an advance copy from Netgalley for an honest review**

As you can tell I loved this book. It was a quick read but that was probably because I read it from cover to cover in basically one sitting. It was pretty predictable but many contemporary romances are. When I picked this up I was looking for something light with a bit of heat, a good beach read per say. If you like a great story that has a lot of humor as well as a fair amount of heat then this would be a good choice.

When I started reading this I didn't realize that it was sortof a sequel to Paper Marriage Proposition that I absolutely loved.

Julian James Gage ... what is not to love about him? He is smoking hot.

I loved how he and Molly connected when they were little kids and how their friendship has developed throughout the years. Everyone aroud them was so worried about them taking it to the next level up, little did they realize that these two were meant to be and were so perfect for each other.

Another great read from Red Garnier. I can't wait to read Garrett's book.

This was either the first or one of the first few books which I read from Red Garnier.

I really enjoyed this story and it was well written and you learn about the background of Molly and Julian. How they grew up together and were best friends. They have such a special bond but like all (sadly predicatable Hollywood RomCom styles) they never really noticed what was under their noses.

Still I find this a sweet book to read and it also make me look up the book with Kate and Garrett because you really want to know the story behind those two too!
