A Collaborative effort between R.M. DuChene and his daughter, Dasia Marques; Appendix Z takes the sub genre of Zombie Apocalypse to a whole new place. If you think you’ve read all of the possible scenarios, Appendix Z is the novella for you. It’s a short, fun read that will leave you wanting more. In this first installment of a continuing series, Appendix Z begins with a young basic training Soldier and follows his experiences through the beginning stages of humanity’s downfall. The content has been deliberately kept to young adult standards.
'Appendix Z' is the story of 19-year-old soldier Anderson and the zombie infestation that he sees beginning at his base.
This is a fast-paced, action-packed kind of book with an unexpected twist in the story. It's pure entertainment and I didn't put it down until I got to the nail-biting ending!
It took me about an hour to read and while the beginning was on the slower side it didn't take long for the pace to quicken. I have to say for a YA book it held my attention very easily and didn't feel as if it was toning down the horror element.
Overall this is a thoroughly entertaining start to what looks to be a thrilling new series. Horror fans should check this out, as well as anyone who enjoys a slightly darker YA read. I'm looking forward to the next part already!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! To tell the truth, thinking I could read a bit and go to bed, I ended up reading the entire book in one night. Great father/daughter collaboration and a must read! You won't see the twist it takes until its too late!!
I remember the classic War of the Worlds and holding my breath when the spaceman descended from the flying saucer. I also loved Independence Day. I think you will keep reading the short Young Adult novel until the sun starts peaking above the horizon. The fact that it was written by father and daughter makes it even more interesting. Readers, just remember to watch out for the mindless, reanimated corpses with a hunger for human flesh and the zombie apocalypse in which the world is brought low by a zombie infestation, unless you have a 19-year-old soldier by your side. I am positive the younger generation of readers will love Appendix Z, especially since it is to become a continuing series.
