I like the art style and the use of colour in this 'light' version of the Twisted series.
However, I didn't enjoy the stories. Most of them I rolled my eyes when they ended. They were not 'twisted' at all. I feel they should stick to the darker ones personally.

I wasn't sure about this one, as I was used to the darker stuff (says more about my mind ahaha). Nevertheless, I found this to be a surprisingly easy read. I'd finished it without too much effort and was surprised how quickly I'd finished it.

The stories were light; I did chuckle a little at the end of some of the stories, because as the name says, they may be light, but they still have twists to them. I particularly enjoyed "Serious Crime" and "Coming out", because they brought up particular subjects that I had experienced (perhaps not in the same subject matters, but the principles behind them).

For "Serious crime", once you've read it, you'll understand that there have been several jokes about this very thing, and that it says more about the way the Police prioritises things more than anything.

"Coming out" - I related with the central character here because I am the very different one in my family in terms of my interests but also from a lot of my extended family members (grown men do not speak in depth about comic books, spandex clad heroes etc. They speak of business, and work and mature things). So the twist was quite nice, and reading the story back, did make much more sense. It's like watching the 6th Sense, you rewatch it and realize how stupid you were for missing the obvious clues!

The art: as with Dark, the art is different in style from story to story, so it gives you a sense that the stories are not connected. However, I'm unsure if Light is following the rules of Dark, with the subtle hints of the stories being connected. I'll have to read it again.

All in all, a great read for someone wanting to enter the world of comics, or someone wanting to read a comic that isn't about spandex clad heroes or monsters.

Won't lie, still prefer the Dark stuff. I guess I'm Twisted that way.

Twisted dark is much better. Don't find these twists surprising enough. Plus darker is better!

Quick easy read but stories are much less memorable compared with the first volume of twisted dark.

A collection of humourous and light hearted views on the world and the people in it.

For those of us who are fans of Twisted Dark (by the same author and a number of the same artists) can see the same underlying twisted view on the world around us. Just this time it is not cleverly nasty but wittily drole instead.

The characters feel real. The situations normal. The outcomes a little bit peculiar. Sometimes you don't see them coming. Sometimes you can and you chuckle all the same.

I had the privilege to meet Neil Gibson two weeks ago, in this year's Cyprus Comic Con. I'll be honest, I didn't know much about his work, but, since the very first moment I was amazed by the quality of the editions he was promoting there, mainly the "Twisted Dark" and "Twisted Light" series.

Talking about quality, I mean quality of graphics/design, quality of printing, but also quality of stories, as his first question was "What kind of comics do you like to read?", and, when my answer was "Everything!", perhaps a bit surprised by my twisted answer, he gave me to read a short story from one of the "Twisted Dark" volumes.

I ended up signing up to his mailing list (technically, TPub's mailing list), and buying a copy of "Twisted Dark, Volume 2", as well as the sole, so far, volume of "Twisted Light"; he was kind enough to sign both.

Having finished this luminous book, I don't want to give any spoilers, but I'm more than happy that I've bought it! If you like British humor, if you like surprising, unexpected, twisted, funny ends, then, go ahead and read it! Trust me, you won't regret it!!!

As a big fan of the Twisted Dark volumes and Neil Gibson's other works, I was really not too sure about Twisted Light before reading it. I mean I was used to the grim, dark stories, that had me on edge and gripped to want to turn the page to read more.
BUT scepticism (prejudice - call it what you will) is the main thing that holds back graphic novels! I thought it wouldn't meet the usually high standards of the stories and art, but I was so very wrong.
This is a perfect 'escape' from the Twisted Dark volumes, as it provides a funnier side to the Twisted Dark Universe, whilst the writing and artwork maintains the same very high standards! More please!

I haven't read the Twisted Dark series that this is apparently a spin-off from, so not sure how it all ties in (if at all), but it works fine as a standalone collection of humourous short stories. Not every story is memorable and not every punchline lands, but the ones that do are quite touching and amusing.
