Jakki was psychic and worried. Something wasn't right.

She read the tarot cards.

A man with green eyes.

Children's hands colored red.

Objects floating in the air.

Remy distraught.

Death.

5 STARS - Would Buy It For Them (lol)

First off, let me say, that raving about this series makes me laugh. I love thrillers, suspense and mystery, with a little paranormal on the side. I have only started reading Vampire books since I started blogging, which was a little over a year ago. My sister, Laura, over at fuonlyknew, got me in to all this and for that I THANK YOU, Laura. I had no idea what I was missing.

Book II, Heartsearch: Found picks up the action from the very first page.

I fell in love and hate with the characters, regardless of them being ruthless, blood thirty killers.

I hate Samir - egotistical and selfish - everything you think a Vampire would be.

I love/dislike Joshua - almost human in his feelings for Remy.

Remy - what can I say? I love her. Strong female protagonists are my favorite characters. I like to think I would deal with things the way she does, but no one ever really knows what they will do until the time comes to do it.

The suspense and anticipation drove me to read faster, resisting the urge to skip ahead.

Carlie's writing is nothing less than amazing. I am having difficulty in describing how amazing this story is. I am going to have to start studying my Thesaurus to expand my word selection. I have never read a Vampire novel like this. Carlie's description of the horrific and excruciating pain one endures when changing into a Vampire was fantastic.

Sometimes I forget the characters are Vampires. Evil, gross, disgusting, selfish, giving, loving, passionate, sexy.......

I want it to end - happy ever after - but they're Vampires. Is that even possible?

I love how Carlie's mind thinks. She is a superb storyteller.

Sometimes the second book in the series is not as good. All I can say is, the story keeps getting better.

Oh no, I didn't see it coming. The book ran out of pages. I DEMAND Heartsearch: Betrayal, Book III. I want it and I want it now!

I received this book in return for an honest and unbiased review for Heartsearch: Found. Thank you Carlie for the opportunity to participate in the release tour for Heartsearch: Found, Book II. I look forward to working with you again, when Heartsearch: Betrayal, Book III comes out.

So, it’s that dreaded middle child in a trilogy book. Was it terrible? Did it feel like a bridging book to get you from the awesome start in Book 1 to the fantastic end in Book 3? No it did not! In fact, I was REALLY excited at how good this book was, since I usually rack up the Book 2′s to the ‘Jan Brady pile of neediness’. Not this time honey! Heart Search: Found by Carlie M.A. Cullen is just as great as the first book! Not once did I find myself checking the time or finding an excuse to do housework rather than read. Cullen has done what so few can – she’s delivered a second book that is just as interesting as it’s siblings on either side of it.

We start Heart Search: Found right where we left off in Book 1 (Heart Search: Lost), so if you haven’t read that one, then I’ll give you a moment while you head on over to Amazon and pick it up. Thanks to this continuation of story, there is no drag at the start and we are eagerly anticipating what is unfolding. The reader finds themselves involved in the story and each page is turned in rapid anticipation of what is to come next.

You know how I was a little hesitant about the two stories within one book last time round? Well not this time! Each chapter ends on a cliffhanger and then flips to the alternate story line – just LOVE it! I just found I was devouring pages to find out how each story line was moving along. There was no sense of ‘when are they ever going to hook up’ like there was in the first book and for this I am eternally grateful.

Now, for the vampires.

I know there has been a rise in human-friendly vampires of late. Cullen’s vampires do not fall into this category. And yet they do. Just a bit. While they feel no shame or remorse with taking human lives each time they drain one and dispose of them; in Book 2, we are finding a little of the internal battle so common in YA vampires. You see Joshua gets reminded of his past in several different ways thanks to the introduction of someone from his human existence. And this opens up a whole big can of worms. I was completely loving this turn of events.

At times there were places where this novel felt a little over explained. And there was one section (where a decision was being made) that dragged a little, but these things were easily forgotten with the overall fast pace of this novel. So if you want your vampires smouldering hot, yet old-school – then this is the book for you!

Overall, I am giving Heart Search: Found 4.5 out of 5 stars. I can’t WAIT for the next book in this series!

As this is the second book in the series I just wanted to say, I’ll do my best to not put spoilers in my review.

Remy hasn’t given up on finding Joshua. It’s just that she has a whole new set of complications to handle. You could say, double the trouble.

She still dreams of Joshua and misses him and will not stop until she finds him.

A mysterious peeping tom with piercing green eyes lurks outside Remy’s home. Remy, her twin, Becky, and her best friend, Jakki, all are scared. They wonder what or who he is after.

The vampire coven has problems of its own. One tries to kill another in a fit of rage and jealousy.

And a nemesis from the past has come back, and he’s brought friends. His resentment continues and now he plots to end them all.

I’ve been waiting for this book and I got so much more than I expected!

There are some really sweet and funny episodes with Remy and her double trouble.

The story has some surprising turns that I didn’t foresee. That’s always exciting.

I got to know more about the coven members and how they think. I had to keep reminding myself these are not nice vampires. Once they are turned, they have no compunction or guilt about taking lives.

I read a scene where the vampires were stalking their dinner and the people were just ordinary people, not evil, minding their own business, and bam. They were dead and dumped miles away in moments. The vampires were just doing what they do, but it felt so profound. And, somehow, I still liked them..

Writing like this will keep me coming back for more. The characters are genuine and distinct. The story line flashes back and forth from one set of characters to the next easily. The anticipation builds along with your hopes.

I had a few moments where I sniffled, many where I grinned, and I even laughed out loud at some scenes. Several times a scene evoked disgust or trepidation too.

An all around great sequel with more to come.

Well worth the wait!

I’ll be looking for more of Remy’s story and can already tell the next book is going to be dramatic.

I received this book for my honest review. I've read the first book and loved it and would gladly have bought this one!

Heart Search 2 – Found

The Review:
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and was not disappointed in this book. The story picks up where it left off in Heart Seach 1- Lost.

Remy faces some really strange, hard to explain occurrences on the family front. There are mysterious happenings all round and then someone else she loves vanishes.

The mood of this tale is dark and foreboding, yet there is occasional lightness as Remy strives for some sense of normalcy in the face of some terrifying events that occur almost daily in her very unusual family.

Remy is deep and intense, and her best friend Jakki balances her well. Joshua is not a two-dimensional vampire, as the male leads in many paranormal romances can be. All of the supporting characters have clearly defined personalities, making them interesting in their own right. The environments surrounding them are vivid and clearly drawn, and the two parallel stories intertwine well, making a good contrast.

The ending is satisfying, and while it leaves the door open for a third book, many threads are brought together, so I felt it ended well.

This is the second book in Carlie Cullen's trilogy, and follows the ongoing story of Josh and Remy, and their family. Without spoiling too much, Josh was turned into a vampire in book one and fled from his relationship with Remy, settling with a 'coven' in the South-East of England. Remy searched for Josh, going on a nostalgic journey to locate him and in the process learning about her own strengths.
The sequel picks up, I think, a year or so later, with Remy coping with her twins and their gifts. However, the coven can't seem to leave Remy alone and before long she's drawn into the intricate politics of Josh 's vampire world via her close friend, Jakki.

The book marks a maturation in style compared with book one, and Carlie Cullen has definitely found her stride with the characterisation. The narrative is very detailed, and this may not suit all tastes, although I found it added to the 'realism' of the story. The conversations between vampires erred on the overly- formal at times, but this was made up for with some excellent scenes - notably between Josh and Remy. I found Remy a well-rounded and convincing character, and to me she is definitely the key character in the book.

Carlie Cullen tosses in some solid teasers for the next book- a turncoat vampire, some wild neophytes, a strangely insane police woman, and not one but two love triangles! And then there's the small matter that the vampires are eating half of Kent every night! I'm also fascinated to see how Josh and Remy's family deal with book 2's events and their consequences.

Genuinely looking forward to the next Installment.
