Her husband has left her for another woman. That is okay with Karen Way – she didn’t particularly care for him anyway. But after almost 20 years of trying to be the good, stable, dependable wife and mother, Karen decides the time has come to do something wild and impetuous – get a tattoo.
When she decides to let her hair down, however, she gets waaaay more than she bargained for – like police raids, trumped up drug charges, flirty drag queens and – most intriguing of all, super-sexy tattoo artist Will Corcorran.
Deciding to do something wild and crazy is all well and good, but is Karen really going to risk her reputation – and most likely, her heart – with a white-hot fling with Will? Abso-frigging-lutely!

Kim Hunt Harris is the award-winning author of the Trailer Park Princess comic mystery series.
Kim knew she wanted to be a writer before she even knew how to write. When her parents read bedtime stories to her, she knew she wanted to be a part of the story world. She started out writing children’s stories, and her stories grew as she did. She discovered a gift for humor and a love for making people laugh with her tales, and the Trailer Park Princess series was born.
Kim loves to not only make her readers laugh and entertain them with a good mystery, but also to examine the issues the everyday people face…well, every day. Issues like faith and forgiveness, perseverance and tolerance. Set in Lubbock, Texas, the fun books feature a cast of quirky characters, outrageous situations, a drama queen of a dog, and from time to time, a tear or two.
Kim lives with her husband of more than thirty years and two teenage kids in Texas.
For starters, though the cover model is sexy, he looks nothing like the male in the book, lol. But that is neither here nor there. This is a very funny and sexy read with a bit of mystery and intrigue sprinkled into the plot. Karen's snarky personality and quick wit are hilarious and I love how Will is able to go toe to toe with her. A very entertaining story. 5++++ stars!
Karen is an almost-40 divorcee with a highly successful DA ex husband who can't keep it his pants. She decides to do something a little wild & get a tattoo, but instead she finds herself falling head over ass for the sexy tattoo artist Will. Turns out Will and her ex Michael are longtime frenemies who are constantly trying to outdo one another, and Michael has decided to turn Will's world upside down with some not so friendly drug charges. He doesn't anticipate his ex wife being pulled into the mix. Now Karen & Will have to find a way to clear their names, no matter how many seedy strip clubs and drag queens they have to talk to.
What a seriously great book Her Something Impetuous is! The humor is absolutely spot on, the character descriptions so colorful and realistic that I could totally inject myself into this story with zero problem. I loved the relationship between Karen and her kids, Ms. Harris really nailed the teenage angst portions of this story. This book had a little something for everyone: a good plot, excellent characters & dialogue, steamy sex scenes, mystery, romance and humor. I 100% recommend picking up this gem & sharing it with all your girlfriends for a great laugh!
This book is so hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud so many times. I have never loved a female main character more. Karen has such a sense of humor. She has the best quips and one liners. They are very sarcastic, but she didn't seem to cynical either, even though her bastard husband just left her for a younger woman. And, after this book, I have decided that if I ever get divorced, I am heading to a tattoo parlor in the hopes that I will find me a Will of my own. He is perfect and sexy and not what you expect. This story is not just a romance, but has a suspense/mystery to it that the two of them have to solve, in order to save Karen's family and both of their freedom. I do not normally gravitate toward this kind of story, because I just love, love so much, but I couldn't put this book down, and found myself reading it every chance I got. And finished it in one day. Even with kids and a busy day.
Lots of fun to be had in this little book. Karen was so easy to attach to especially if you are a mom and know what it's like to juggle a difficult situation while your kids ever so lovingly blame you for ruining their lives-lol. The story takes off right away & goes up & down & all around in a good way. Trying to figure out who was good & bad & what the ex-husband's secret was half the fun. If you're all about the sex you will be frustrated as there is little & it takes a while to get there but loads of hot steamy tension filled scenes to get you through. Fun fast read.
This was a good book. Going thru a divorce with her husband all kinds of things start happening in her life. Two girls one in college ,one at home yet. Since they started the divorce the girls more or less blamed the mom for everything. Dad was wanting to run for Senator so he was sort of a big wig in the town already. When she mets Will at a tattoo parlor and from there things go crazy. I think the ending should have said more what happened in the end to Michael her soon to be X. Humor and hot romance will keep your attention. Never a dull moment
I have very mixed feelings about this book. On one hand it was an enjoyable read. However, on the other hand, I just couldn't get beyond the coincidence of the tattoo artist just happening to have a history with the main character's husband. No one explained why she picked that tattoo parlor. If it was just random, boy, what a stretch! I guess also, I was looking for more humor about her getting a tattoo rather than the book delving into a mystery.
Easy read. Fun story. However,I don't like obviously mistakes. Near the beginning Karen says she left her purse at the tattoo parlor then right after that she is putting her purse under the counter at work. Rookie mistake!
This one pleasantly surprised me. It was so funny! It's one of those books that has your husband looking at you like you're crazy because you keep laughing out loud. Loved it!
