In the first erotic short story that publisher and editor Lori Perkins ever wrote, she explores that very special relationship between a woman and her vacuum cleaner. After being dumped by her boyfriend, our heroine decides to clean up her apartment using a vacuum cleaner that does nothing for her. A visit from her best friend and neighbor inspires her to a buy a new machine, the Electro Deluxe, that has been taking the women of America by storm. After a demonstration of the machine’s amazing talents, and a review of its equally awesome attachments, our heroine decides that cleanliness is indeed next to OMGodliness. Lori Perkins uses this short story as a teaching tool in her “50 Shades of How to Write Smut for Fun and Profit” talk to show the genesis of an erotic story, from concept to completion.

I read this to my husband and chuckled most of the way through.
A vacuum with dildo attachments is just funny to me. I was picturing all these women in their clubbing attire ready to test drive their new vacuums.
When I finished reading it I said to my husband “did you like the story?” He was like “well it was kinda weird. What, do you want one of those vacuums?”
🫧 What can I say, I was curious. It was a quick trip back to a time to the 2000s where women’s pleasure wasn’t spoken about and special vacuum cleaner attachments were invented for fun times. I was expecting more spice from this than just a dildo attachment of a has been celebrity and it was extremely tame for the genre. Unfortunately, this doesn’t really have much of an ending, it feels like an incomplete story.
A quick and easy to read for curious minded souls. This one just wasn’t for me.
⭐️ Final Score : 2 Stars 📖 11 pages 🗓️ Pub Date: April 24 2026 📚Thanks to Riverdale Avenue Books & NetGalley for the ARC. My thoughts are my own.
This was a quick and fun read! After her best friend comes over for some drinks, she realizes her bestie needs a new vacuum.
There just so happens to be a new vacuum show case that has some fun attachments 🤭
I love the updated cover on Netgalley! It absolutely draws the reader in. This is not my first sentient object romance, so I knew exactly what to expect. I do wish there was more spice, but this book delivered exactly what it was supposed to! Thank you to Netgalley and Lori Perkins for an ARC of this book.
I stumbled upon a tale of a woman having a whirlwind romance with her vacuum while it tidied up the place. What? Now I'm questioning my life decisions, just a tad. Those were 15 entertaining minutes of my existence, I must admit. So many questions, yet not enough caffeine to chase those answers. It's a darling little read if you're in the mood for something lighthearted and delightfully ridiculous!
An ARC provided by @netgalley So this was an ultra short, short story. I find it hard to call it erotica. Definitely could have been spicier. I read it in less than 15 minutes. 3/5 stars and only 1 chili peppers for spice--and that's generous. The chili peppers really only describe the quantity of spice, so out of a 3 rating, I'd give it a 1.5 for quality. Not completely a wet blanket but not as good as meh. Nowhere near a one-handed book. #Sexybookishgirl #bookstagram #spicybooks
I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting from this short story but I think I was hoping for a little more.
I quite enjoyed the writing style and thought the premise was funny but unfortunately just don’t think it was long enough to really learn about the characters. Felt a touch unfinished but was still a fun 10 minute read!
This was an impulse grab because of the ridiculous concept. It was a short, short story. No time for character development or even concept development, but it was a quick, quirky read.
I received a free copy from NetGalley and I'm willingly leaving a review Worth reading, take with a grain of salt, name-droppings, fun and good revenge on an ex. You need to imagine that this lady will have fun now cleaning her house.
Review of Electri DeLexe by Lori Perkins * * * * * A very short read with erotic naughty context that had so much potential to be more. Really wish there had been some action beyond the demonstrations and fun gal pal shopping spree, it would have made the read more fun.
Okay, firstly. thank you to the pubs and author for my copy of this.
I really don't know what I just read. Truthfully, it was probably less than ten pages of a woman who gets a recommendation for a vacuum from her friend. Let's just say, she liked it's efficiency. This was amusing.
A short erotic story about a vacuum with special attachments. The FMC really liked the Tommy Lee. Thank you Netgalley, Lori Perkins, & Riverdale avenue books for this erotic story.
