Sailand is a stark contrast to Astaria, and the gang find themselves in trouble. The plot is much more fleshed out now and I love that I can finally get backstory to the members. Senri’s arc is great!

I love these books! They are so adorable and lovable. They are well-thought out and interesting and wonderful. Her characters all seem so real. They all have problems and really specific and personal histories that go back pretty far. Her characters aren't perfect, and she is able to make them come to life and feel like real human beings.
I love the idea behind this manga. I love the idea of being able to transform into an animal and have cool powers and be special. (I wish I could do it. That would be so cool!)
My best friends gave these to me to read. They were the first manga I ever read in my entire life and I didn't get it at first. They had the books and I tried reading it, but I couldn't figure out how to read it backwards, and so the first book they read it out loud to me <3 Aren't they sweet? Anyways, I decided that I wanted to continue reading them online, and I was just planning to just look at +Anima a little bit and I ended up reading like the first 7 books in two days (It would've been sooner except I had school and sleep and whatnot, stupid distractions!)
Senri is my favorite!! He is so adorable! I definitely recommend these books to those who love mangas, and to those who love animals, and to those who love interesting stories. This is a very good series with wonderful writing and amazing art!

Cooro and Husky aren't like other boys. They're anima, children with animal features and qualities. After breaking free of their servitude at a cruel freakshow circus, they go on a journey in search of others like themselves. Cooro is a crow and Husky is a fish. As they travel the world doing good deeds, they recruit a bear boy, a cat woman and a bat girl. Together they get into all kinds of wacky antics while fighting against the oppression their kind faces on a daily basis.

The low rating isn't because this series is bad, it's just extremely cliche and childish in my opinion. I think it would be good for young kids who have no experience reading manga. It's extremely light, simple, easy to follow and doesn't contain anything overly violent, dark or sexual in nature. For someone like me who generally reads books and manga with excessive gore, dark themes and adult content it definitely didn't appeal to me that much, even though I was in the mood to read something lighter than I'm accustomed to.

Not a bad manga, just not for me. Even so, it's undeniably cute and wholesome. I think it would appeal to kids and young girls, especially if they have minimal experience reading manga.

The group journeys through the mountain to Sailand where +Anima are treated very different than they are in Astaria. Senri and Husky are captured by slavers and Lady Crystala gives her aid to help save them. And we finally get the rest of Senri's story and why that book is so important to him.

Meanwhile, Husky is looking for his mother and on his way to the capital and a band of rebels is causing trouble in an attempt to free +Anima from slavery. This is getting exciting~

This series has 10 volumes.

No cuts in the storyline. We learn about how different communities treat +anima, the different forms discrimination and racism can take, the nuance of the oppressors, all within the light beautiful stroke of Mukai's illustrations.

Husky, Cooro, Nana, and Senri have finally arrived on the other side of Moss Mountain in Sailand, but to what? Cooro and Nana fly up ahead to try to find a village after Husky tells the group the reason for his strong desire to travel to Sailand. But as Husky and Senri wait behind for Cooro and Nana, slave hunters capture them and sell them off as slaves! In the land of Sailand, there is no freedom for +Anima!

I really wish that I would have finished this series when I was younger. This series had such an impact on my views and outlook on life when I was thirteen. I want to give this book four stars, but as I am now I can really only give it a three. I really do miss how I was when I was thirteen... but the ride to growing up to where I am now at least was a great ride... I'll always love you, hun. You changed me. I'll love you.. forever.. and ever. Aaahhh, maybe I shouldn't be writing this review while I am in this mood? Haha, oh well. It feels almost like a betrayal to erase what I wrote. I wonder how long I'll still feel that way about things too? I guess this is just some of the stuff this book made me think about... not much else.

This is volume 7 of 10 and the story is still moving along based on seemingly unconnected events. I can understand Husky wanting to go to Sailand, but has he been steering the group in that direction the whole time or is it a coincidence? Is the potential war between Sailand and Astaria partially about the use/abuse of +Anima? Since they have left the country, are military guy and his buddy completely out of the picture? And what about Cooro's past?!? Husky had several days in the cave path to tell them that Sailand keeps +Anima as slaves and yet he forgot about it until after Cooro and Nana take off... Are Ed and Crystala really looking out for the good of +Anima or are they simply doing a better job of keeping them placated? At least this book has an obvious connection to the next book...

This series is so cute. I know I have said it before but I love the characters in it. In this volume Husky wants to go and see his Mom on the way their they go to a town where it seems that Anima are being kept as slaves. Husky and Senri are captured so Nana and Cooro are trying to free them. When Husky got separated from them in the cave I loved Nana trying to rescue him. And the map showing they landed where they started out at.

This book swept me away to this other wonderful world. The setting was brilliantly set. I could totally see it in my mind. But the characters were definitely my favorite part. They are all so colorful, interesting, exciting, and hilarious. The main character is just perfect. The plot moved fast enough that I couldn't stop reading lest I miss something, but the author still took the time to flesh out the details. The details are what really make or break a story.

Quick thoughts: We move from Senri's past to Husky's, as the group travels into his homeland on the other side of the mountains. Several new characters and themes here. The different treatment and status of +Anima is handled well, and as usual Cooro's view of the world shapes events and is a wonderful way to tell the story.

Bit of a cliffhanger to end the volume. Clearly more to this arc.

In this volume following our gang, we see a different kind of land where +Anima are slaves in Huskey's homeland. We meet the caravan that was once Senri's home. And as the volume ends the gang almost all back together is on the way to Huskey's mother's home and happens to be where Huskey is going to be sold as a slave.

Again, I like the art; the story, and the series in general.

I couldn't really focus on anything but to Husky/Nana cute moment in the dark tunnel. Here's me, a 23yo girl, hoping there's romance in this manga, even A BIT, and that would be the perfect thing ever in this volume! LOL. Seriously.

That was just a little unexpected. The +anima are slaves in this country! How could Husky leave that little detail out at a critical moment like this? Now he is the one that everyone has to go looking for. Good grief! I cannot imagine what is going to happen next.

Once again, there was a lot of plot and character development in this volume. We discovered that Husky is searching for his mother, and also there was a lot of backstory for Senri after he became a +anima. There is a cliffhanger though, so be prepared to have the next volume on hand!

Unsere Freunde sind im anderen Land angekommen. Wir erfahren, wen Husky sehen will. Aber in diesem Land gelten sie als Sklaven, und es wird leicht politisch. Und sie werden verschleppt! Die Coverillustration gefällt mir hier besonders gut.
