Victoria Gallucci leads a simple, quiet life as a stay at home mom to her children Branson and Rue and home maker for her husband Abel. The only dark spot in their world came with trouble from Abel's atrocious ex wife, Lorali. But even that did not diminish their family bliss. Lorali's untimely death put to rest any more drama from Abel's past. Or so they thought. Ex wives can be a drag, to be sure but how does a woman combat the ex who causes problems even from beyond the grave? Death Wind is M Jet's short story depicting a chilling account of people haunted instead of a place. A family in the path of the devil. Pick up this read for the thrill of the chill, and get a taste of M Jet's brand of ice cold terror. 7604 words, short story

Sick, twisted, demented... But I try to be classy about it. I live in Florida but have lived many other places as well, living my life like a Gypsy. I am a waitress, witch, fortune teller. I have no family, few friends, and answer to no one. But freedom can be lonely. I have a blog and invite others to contribute and be featured!

This was a very cool quick read that keeps you thinking long after you finish reading it. No one likes an ex that won’t go away. No one wants to be haunted. DEFINITELY no one wants to be worried about the possibility of being haunted by an ex even after they die.

Victoria is faced with this possibility when strange things start happening in her home while her husband is away, and her son continues to insist the strange things are being caused by her husband’s ex wife, Lorali, who is now dead. He also insists she’s not there to hurt them. I certainly wouldn’t want to believe it, and neither does Victoria.

As the story goes on, Victoria is forced to face the “what if”: if Lorali is haunting them, why? What does she want, and how do they get rid of her?

This was a really well written story that made me think about the possibilities of these things happening, but also the secondary story of how we may judge others while not knowing everything we think we know. This was definitely a great, fast-paced and chilling story, worth the read!

I do not read novellas often, finding that once I become connected to the characters and events, the end arrives. Despite the length of Death Wind I saw the synopsis and immediately wanted to read the story.
Death Wind begins with no ambiguity about characters, their relationships or histories as M Jet is able to cleverly accommodate these elements into the first several pages of her book. Although months pass in a paragraph, this is necessary for the progression of the plot, as M Jet develops the suspense.
M Jet uses the horror film classic strategy of the paranormal entity manipulating children, in this case it is Victoria's son and daughter, Branson and Rue. As the messages the children communicate become more poignant and the situations they are put in appear to be more dangerous, the tension is intensified.
With the reader on the edge of their seat M Jet delivers her unanticipated climax, bringing an end to this stunning novella.
Death Wind is definitely one to buy and I look forward to reading more by the author.

Wow, this story was incredible. I loved how the author makes her stories come to life and keeps us enchanted to the story from beginning to end. This story was phenomenal in all ways from the opening talk about ghosts, to the intriguing plot, to the spectacular ending. I was awake all night and glued to this story because it captured my attention and wouldn't let go. This author has an amazing talent to story telling and this story proves just that. I recommend this story to all believers and non-believers, because it will in the end make you a believer in ghosts and how real they really are.
