Divertido, con lindos diseños de personajes y variedad en sus personalidades, un punto positivo ya que en este tipo de Manhwa de idols tienden a no diferenciarse mucho.
Park Mondae (MC), es inexpresivo con sutiles cambios en su rostro en momentos de tensión y “debe volverse un idols en un año”; el punto singular aquí es que él es un reencarnado con sistema en otro cuerpo pero de su mismo mundo, además que el no puede aprovechar esa experiencia puesto que está internado en un concurso de IDOLS, y si no debuta en el…muere, de ahí el título de este Manhwa.
En resumen, es una historia fresca, linda y sin mucho drama (aunque comentan que en la novela se ven más profundos ciertos temas), con una paleta de colores suaves que empujan el sentimiento esponjoso de la obra en general.

i liked it, but in my opinion, it’s nothing special.
that’s probably because i’ve watched way too many kpop survival shows, and the dynamics are always the same, this one is no exception.
the art style is really really good, and i also really liked the characterization of the characters.
i’d recommend it if you’re new to kpop survival shows, because it’s a really good way to start 🫶🏻

S1+S2 - 65 Chapters
This is basically a survival type of manhwa within the idol industry mixed in with a couple game elements with A LOT of pretty boys with heartwarming relationships so if you like pretty boys read it, it will bless your eyes.
Plus, the art is amazing, the characters are literally so likeable I want to scream with joy and it's essentially a found family story. It's really satisfying seeing the main character turning into a puppy because he slowly lowers his guard and appreciates the people around him. And I love the way the others flock straight to Moondae like ducklings following their mum. Everyone is just so adorable and my heart swells. 😍😍😍

Huch, das war ja mal ganz anders, als ich dachte!? 👀 Viel besser sogar! 😲
Erwartet habe ich einen Titel, bei dem es einfach nur darum geht, ein Idol zu werden - das kann gut laufen oder eben nicht. Aber hier wurde noch Gamification eingebaut - denn unser Protagonist befindet sich nicht nur im Körper eines anderen.. nein, er sieht plötzlich auch ein Statusfenster mit Werten, die er aufleveln kann..! Und genau das macht die Sache richtig spannend und interessant für mich. Er startet als eher durchschnittlicher Sänger ohne jegliche Tanzbegabung. Beim Karaoke levelt er aber seinen Gesangsrang ordentlich hoch, was ihm ein Ticket für eine Idolshow einbringt. Denn in seinem Statusfenster wurde der Vermerk “Debut or die” hinzugefügt.. somit muss er im Zeitraum eines Jahres debütieren, sonst stirbt er!
Hört sich doch irgendwie abgefahren an, oder? 😂 Fand ich nämlich auch. Aber tatsächlich hat's mich dann doch ziemlich gefesselt, dass ich gar nicht aufhören konnte zu lesen, haha. Der Plot ist schon etwas ausgefallen und besonders, die Charaktere sind sehr charmant (wenn sich manche auch recht ähnlich sehen). Das Pacing ist gut gewählt und man erfährt immer wieder was neues - größtenteils über die Show, aber auch über die Charaktere selbst. Die Zeichnungen vermitteln ein gewisses Etwas und fangen die Atmosphäre super gut ein. Sehr detailliert, aber auch mit ein paar Grimassen und co versehen. Ich denke, das wird noch ziemlich interessant! 😁

Debut or Die hat eine tolle Grundidee: Ein 29-jähriger Mann wacht in einem neuen Körper auf und bekommt die Ansage: Debütiere als K-Pop-Idol innerhalb eines Jahres – oder stirb. Dazu kommt noch ein System, das ihm wie in einem Game seine Stats für Gesang, Tanz und Aussehen anzeigt. Ich fand das spannend, weil es sich ein bisschen wie ein Survival-Game in der Welt des K-Pop anfühlt – fast wie Squid Game, nur eben mit Idol-Traum statt roter Overalls.
Die Geschichte startet in einer Akademie, wo die Teilnehmer trainieren, gecastet werden und sich in einer Reality-Show gegeneinander beweisen müssen.
Was mir gut gefallen hat, ist die Story im Allgemeinen. Aber es gibt auch Punkte, die mich gestört haben: Die Charaktere sehen einfach alle gleich aus. Fast alle mit dunklen Haaren, ähnlichen Augen, und nur minimale Unterschiede im Gesicht – ich musste manchmal echt überlegen, wer jetzt wer ist. Dadurch bleiben die Nebenfiguren ein bisschen blass, was schade ist, weil die Dynamik zwischen den Teilnehmern spannend sein könnte.
Am Ende formt sich dann die Gruppe, die sogar einen Namen und ein Konzept bekommt. Das war ein cooler Abschluss, der Lust auf den nächsten Band macht.

Super interesting and fun to read, if you watch kpop survivor shows its very reminiscent of boys planet. I really like the aloof approach Moondae takes to debut as you know he'll die otherwise but still manages to make connections with the other contestants and gains fans from his ridiculous acts. I appreciate the commentary on the kpop industry and how rigged it can be at times, the stocks being the main way the contestants will win the competition, the comments fron the viewers also made it funnier.
Additionally, the art is very well done and easily helps differentiate and distinguish their personalities and appearances from each other. There's still a lot of mystery to moondae's previous identity and the member who was in controversy, but all the characters are very likeable which makes me more worried for whoever they reveal to be the perpetrator lol.
The manhwa ended as soon as they announced all the winning members so there is very much more to explore but I'm very excited for it. Overall I'd recommend as it's very entertaining to watch.

Normalerweise bin ich nicht so begeistert von Geschichten, die sich um Idole drehen, aber ich fand es erfrischend, diesen Titel zu entdecken.
Eine kurze Anmerkung: Es handelt sich nicht um ein offizielles BL, aber es gibt definitiv eine Menge Fan-Art dazu.
Bis jetzt finde ich Moondae ziemlich sympathisch. Er wirkt weder übermäßig enthusiastisch noch reizbar, ist aber auch nicht völlig farblos. Stattdessen setzt er auf sein rationales und logisches Denken, was oft zu unfreiwilligem Humor führt.
In der Geschichte begegnen einem auch bekannte Charaktertypen wie der Golden Retriever und der Grumpy Guy.
Ich fand es etwas zu einfach, wie Moondae einen Platz im Casting ergattert, aber ich bin mir sicher, dass noch weitere Herausforderungen auf ihn warten werden, um die Spannung aufrechtzuerhalten.
Manchmal kam mir das Tempo etwas schleppend vor. Ich bin noch nicht ganz überzeugt, aber ich werde Band 2 und 3 auf jeden Fall eine Chance geben.

No soy mucho de ver este tipo de historias, pero tome una buena decisión al leerlo. En el momento en que empezó la supervivencia NO PUDE SOLTARLO ME LO TERMINÉ AL TIRO KAJSKSLWKSKSWISLWK
De paso que la personalidad de Moon Dae fue una total sorpresa para mi, pensé que sería el típico protagonista, pero cuando avanzó la trama su personalidad hizo la historia incluso mejor. Es tan inexpresivo y serio (no como el típico personaje frío, es más como que no sabe mostrar otra cara) que es agradable la frescura. Y como todos se reúnen a su lado después de conocerlo??? MOON DAE PARA LÍDER!!
En fin, solo diré que todos los chicos que debutarán con Moon Dae (menos el Sejin actor, todavía no es de mi total agrado)son mis protegidos, si les pasa algo mataré a todos en la habitación y luego a mi misma.

Ich kannte bisher keine Story, in der das Idolleben so im Mittelpunkt steht. Eine weitere besonderheit ist hier auch die Prämisse, dass das Leben des Hauptcharakters auf dem Spiel steht, sollte er sein Debut als Idol nicht meistern!
Zum Glück stehen ihm aber auch einige Fähigkeiten zur Verfügung, zum Beispiel, dass er wie bei einem Videospiel seine Statistik einsehen und neue Fähigkeiten freischalten kann. Das gibt dem ganzen nochmal zusätzliche Spannung!
Ich bin wirklich überrascht, wie gut mir die Story gefallen hat. Vor allem, da ich normalerweise voll das Romance Girlie bin und mir mit Action & Co teilweise etwas schwer tue. Hier bekommen wir aber wirklich tolle Charaktere und eine sehr spannende Dynamik. Ich bin gespannt, wie sich die Story entwickelt. Den Auftakt lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall sehr zu lesen💖

Maybe I read the wrong translation or maybe I just don't like how they wrote the novel. Paragrafnya pendek-pendek, anyone please tell me apa iya memang bait bait gitu? KArena format novelnya tuh literally a short description of the situation, terus followed by dialogue and komentar-komentar viewers... at every chpater begitu. I'm not comfortable reading the story but I REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW THE STORY GOES..... Waiting for the manhwa to catch up to the novel will take too long. I love this story kok, cuman masalahnya gak nyaman dibaca novelnya (gaya nulisnya)

OHMIGOSH!!! I don't usually read k-pop manwhas, but I saw this one was very popular and decided to read it. I adored it!! Every single chapter from the fictional Twitter to the girl fangirling Moondae I loved it all!! The characters are so fun and cute!! I love the fact that the manwha critiques the k-pop industry and k-pop fans!! A gem of a manwha in my opinion! I will be waiting for more chapters!!! (This manwha is actually making me consider becoming a k-pop fan)

This was like watching (reading) a real Kpop survival show. Felt every moment. Related so hard with the fangirls. Plus, it's so refreshing to see the idol's perspective when they are competing.

so there's only 18 chapters currently but this seems like it's gonna be fun to follow and I like the characters,, the MC is definitely wrong about the drug guy tho it's 100% the other one and the guy with the stutter is adorable,, maybe I'll read the novel while I wait :))

Acabo de alcanzar el manhwa y PTM, no soy fan de la temática de idols pero esta historia simplemente me atrapó, 10 de 10 y de inmediato me paso a la novela porque quede enamorada de los personajes y la narrativa, además de que en vida real amo los shows de supervivencia aunque me estresan jajaja
