This new series takes us back to a time when people pulled together, even as their dreams were pulled apart. I loved this! This story takes place during the Depression, and we follow the Harringtons. For this family, the Depression to making life difficult for them and their town. The daughter, Marvel, has a dream of helping others. She wants to train as a nurse and go serve the soldiers in the war.

Marvel's father disapproves of the dream, and this makes Marvel sad. I think this is really what she wanted.

Marvel is also noticing that her parents aren't as close as they once were. She doesn't want to see them split up.

Marvel meets a young man named Titus. She finds him to be very rude and mean at first, but by the end of the book, she's in love with him. This was very good and a fun read.

I have just started reading this book, and well I like the storyline, I'm afraid the young girl thinks too deeply for her age!
