Davis Reardon was a persistent man. Lonely, but persistent. For two years he happily watched love grow and deepen between his brother and the woman who completed his life. Jake and Brinley were two halves of a whole. And Davis was patiently waiting for his turn. Waiting for the one woman who was meant to be the other part of him.

He thought the wait was over when Dusty Lawton drove into his life. That connection, that instant recognition of matching pieces came immediately. Still, he tried hard not to slide down that slippery slope too quickly. But sliding he was. Right up until he discovered the one thing he didn’t want to know.

Gold ring. Third finger. Left hand. Married! Now what?

He was raised to never touch another man’s wife. He could practically hear his daddy rolling over in his grave at just the thought. He pretty much figured the man would rise right up out of it if he couldn’t stop that downhill slide and actually touched her. But if she wasn’t meant to be with him, how could he explain all the things that said she was?

The man who raised Dusty always told her the right man for her was out there somewhere. How cruel that she should find him when it was too late, after she was trapped in a marriage she never wanted. A marriage her husband would kill to keep her in.

In a dangerous game of cat and mouse, the crosshairs land first on Owen Lawton, while Davis, Jake and the rest try to unravel the mystery of why Dusty insists she must remain in a marriage that’s in name only, before it was too late. Just when they think the game is won, things take a deadly twist.

Loved it, loved it!! I really enjoyed the first book Jake, but loved this story. I love Davis...the relationship between him and his family really touched me. Plus this author always has strong women. Most times they don't know how strong they are.

This is a story of survival, love, family. Of never giving up or giving in! If you haven't read this author, please do. If you decide on this series start with book one, Jake.

WOW! OH WOW!! I love the way Raeann Blake tells a story. This book shows the real love between a man and a woman and between family. I loved Jake in the first book but I think I love Davis more. I can't wait for Michael's story.

Very enjoyable read. Sometimes when you see the one you just know and when Davis saw Dusty there was no question about it. This is the story of their journey. Highly recommended.

Heart-breakingly Wonderful

Loved the spontaneous interaction between Davis and Dusty upon first seeing one another. Dusty husband was a real lowlife and richly deserved his capture by someone else he had disrespected and disregarded as a viable individual.

An Awesome Book!

I absolutely loved reading Davis (The Seven Brothers of Elko: Book Two), all about Dusty Lawton & Davis Reardon who met when she brought her horse to his ranch so his brother could gentle him so she could ride him, without being thrown. Dusty Lawton has been traveling for two days from Bozeman Montana to get to Jake & Davis's ranch in Elko Nevada, it's been a long haul pulling her horse behind her, but she couldn't be happier stepping out of the truck. The first person she encounter's in Brinley Jakes wife, then she meets Jake & Davis, and both of them immediately are attracted to each other. Davis can't breath and it seems neither can Dusty, when they finally catch their breaths they both have these dopey smiles on their faces like the cat that eat the canary look, it's quite amazing from Jake & Brinley's perspective. It isn't until Dusty goes to open the truck that Jake notices her wedding ring, and instantly he knows there's going to be trouble! The author wrote a very moving story and the character absolutely make the book come to life. The book is about two people who are each discovering they have finally met their soul-mate! It doesn't matter that Dusty is married to somebody she doesn't love, she's finally found somebody who will love her unconditional for the rest of her life! Davis on the other hand has been searching his adult life for that one person who takes his breath away, somebody like Brinley his brother's wife, and now he has found her and never wants her to leave, because if she goes he knows he'll die a lonely man. Read this book it will make you laugh, cry, sigh, shake your head and cum up a storm. There are many twists and turns but stick with it, you won't be disappointed. I read the first book and couldn't put it down, and book two was the same, now I can't wait till I read book three. Take a chance this series will not disappoint you!

I re-read this book in anticipation for her next book Michael which is do out any day, this story never fails to disappoint I could read it a hundred time. I loved Davis in Jake and was so glad he found Dusty, I was also glad to see the raw emotion from the characters given their situation (not giving away spoilers). Ms. Blake has a way of sucking you into the books and you can see and feel everything the characters do, I laugh and cry every time I read these.

Love Raeann Blake's writing. The authentic love and romance is so heart-warming. Dusty and Davis were fantastic characters and I love that I got more of Brinly and Jake. My only criticism is that at points it seems to drag on.
