For star-struck teenagers living in Okinawa, the first step to fame and fortune is an appearance on an American Idol-like TV show called Boom Boom. If they can wangle their way onto this weekly program, they have a shot to become Japan's next big thing. But first, these pop-star wannabes must first enroll in the big city's actor's school where competition between classmates is spirited and ruthless! With the help of her guardian angel, a gargoyle-like statue named Cesar, little Airi begins taking classes at the school. One way or another, she's going to make her dreams come true!
Since enrolling in the Okinawa Actors School, Airi has been working overtime trying to improve her singing and dancing skills. And now, finally, the world is starting to take notice.
Having won a gig as a dancer in a hit music video, she has unknowingly become a celebrity in Tokyo. When she arrives in the big city, she is mobbed by fans who are desperate to catch a glimpse of her.
All this attention is nice, but being a dancer in someone else's video isn't Airi's ultimate goal. She wants to be a star. And to that end, she's been booked into the studio to record her first song. The time is right. Airi is ready to rock the world!
The plot was basically our cute ditsy main character with 5 brain cells goes to a drama school and wants to make it big and be famous on tv, but oh no to make it on tv and be famous you need elite skill so she has to train hard to do that!
Only gets 3 stars from me as apposed to less cuz I think the writers knew what they were doing and intentionally made this series into one gigantic joke, and in that regard in terms of a comedy this was pretty funny.
My favorite joke is the one, where in one panel the cliché love interest male was screaming out a taxi, his whole Head sticking out of the taxi as he’s looking like a chibi himbo screaming to the mc girl, Arie, and the taxi driver has this line “sir stick your head back in that’s very dangerous!” As the taxi driver is in the process of speeding off, the way it’s drawn and the text is just too funny, it’s golden, peak humor.
Overall bad manga if you take it seriously, but amazing for a lighthearted comedy read in between your more serious stuff.
this book was amaizing and it was netly illistated i am doing this for my art proj at school i am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not a reader but i read the whol serise
man i wish people would stop just handing stuff to airi, like dang, girl needs to face a challenge and grow. and i mean real challenge, none of this blatantly being walked through things business. i'm not fond of stories about people getting endless amounts of awesome they've not earned. 2 stars
