Could Suguri's Lupin really share a psychic bond with the pet store manager?! Suguri gets a second job at night, and her work performance at the pet store starts to suffer due to her lack of sleep. Then she and her coworker Chizuru come across a shady pet shop with a lot of sick dogs, and they're determined to find out what's going on!
I liked this installment slightly more than the first two, as it stopped relying so heavily on poop humor. Dog poop just isn't all that funny! This manga is really cute for dog lovers. There are random facts about dogs spread throughout this volume, just like the first two---maybe a little less but it's still there. And pretty much anything involving adorable puppies is a win in my book!
I really enjoyed reading "Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs" as it brought me a new appreciation and love towards dogs. The storyline is quite unique and I loved the humour throughout the series, which never gets old the more you read the books over and over again.
Loved it, even if you miss a few books it catches you up on everything that has happened and you get a great understanding what has happened! Each one is unique! This one is one of a kind!
Surprising amount of male gaze going on. It doesn't help that the dialogue is vacuous. I understand that this was translated from Japanese, but that doesn't give the translators an excuse to be lazy. The best thing this book has going for it is that it teaches you a lot about owning a dog. Finally, there's this weird, creepy vibe in the book because it pays a lot of attention to when dogs pee and poo. You're saying, "But, Corey, that's normal for dogs." Yeah, well there's a certain panel where the dog pees on the main character. Because the book is black and white, it looks like something else. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the illustrator's intention. In short, I fear this is a porno masquerading as a cutesy slice of life manga. No me gusta.
The adventures of Saguri and Lupin continue. Some of the minor characters get more page space in this one. Saguri and her friend from the night club feel the need to take the law into their own hands and take down a dog shop that is treating dogs as "things" and not as living animals. Their dogs are sick and the owner of shop does not care - until he is confronted by the staff and friends of Woofles.
I think the author, Sakuragi, does a really nice job of highlighting the different types of people and the different ways dogs can influence people's lives for the better.
Ahh...refreshing shojo style after reading Animal Land. Kim's dog, I was so scared when he bit the electrical cord! And Czerny-chan's awesome too. Suguri as a hostess...yeah. She has short hair like me now, yay! Much fanservice. It was scary when that evil guy was trying to make money of the dogs. The chapter title is so true-Dogs Aren't Things. When Suguri was trying to free the dogs from that evil man, that was such an ALF moment. She had every right to free those dogs that were sick and crammed in horrible living conditions. And the dogs helping the elderly people was cute.
As the plot begins to develop there's always so many dramtic turns and surprises around every corner for poor Suguri, though she always seems to take on everything with such elated energy!
