A broken heart. A ticket to paradise. A resort full of honeymooners ... the last thing newly single Patience De La Rosa needs if she's to find a candidate for a casual rebound. Her luggage catching a flight to Mauritius instead of Maui doesn't help matters and a maxed out credit card doesn't buy a girl a fresh pair of panties. Then there's the annoying weird guy, the one who's married to his laptop, sitting beside her at the pool.

Odds for a fling improve when three single, sexy and willing candidates cross her path. Though Patience's luggage may be M.I.A., her breakup baggage crossed the Pacific with her. Will Patience cast it aside, throw caution to the tropical winds and indulge in island debauchery? Or will a tea leaf reader's prediction about her romantic excursions come true in unexpected ways?

Take a relaxing trip into author Tara Simone's comedic romp VACATIONISTA. The first book in the Sole Mates series.

Vacationista is the beach read to top all beach reads! There is no way you'll be able to put it down once you get started, it's that addictive. Patience De la Rosa has every woman's dream job and shoes to die for, Chanel Espadrilles appropriately named Coco, whom she consults with through out her vacation. Even though the airline loses her luggage, she's able to make do with what she has in her carry on, as well as the $200 in cash she brought with her. The hilarity that ensues on her vacation is absolutely priceless.

Patience has to be one of the most entertaining heroines I've come across. From the moment she sits down next to the weirdo at the pool you know nothing but awesomeness will follow. I absolutely adored Huey and his lack of pigmentation. The witty banter between him and Patience had me laughing out loud on many occasions. They get along so easily without even trying. The fact that he's there for her after every failed rebound attempt is just too cute for words, even if he is teasing her most of the time. And even though he was never really an option I was Team Huey all the way.

For a debut novel, I'm impressed. The writing style was super catchy and easy to get into. The characters, although quirky, were very real and lovable. This has to be one of the funnest and funniest books I've read in a while. I seriously didn't want it to end and I'm hoping Ms. Simone turns this into a series b/c I would love to hear more about Patience & Huey!!

In a single word - Fabulous! Vacationista is a delight to read. In the pages of her debut novel, new author Tara Simone gives us witty dialogue, fun and fleshed out characters we want to cheer on, a vacation spot that makes me long to hop a plane, and shoes I can only wish I owned. The tone of the story is lively and the pace is just right. Vacationista is the kind of read that makes you unable to stop at the chapter's end. I'm so happy to have found a new favorite author and highly recommend this book if you like chick lit and women's fiction. Tara Simone is an emerging author to watch - can't wait for the next Soul Mates story.

The friendship that builds up between Patience and Huey is so cute, it delivers some fantastic banter and lol moments and sparks developing that you really hope ignite! I reviewed this book at MustReadBooksOrDie with my friend Shelley.

Shel: Patience is coming off of the sting of the ending of a 3 year relationship. The perfect antidote? A vacation in paradise (Hawaii). Unfortunately it was originally meant as a birthday trip with her then boyfriend. Not one to pass up a fantastic vacation, she goes through with her trip without that loser ex. Upon arrival she has no suitcase, a maxed out credit card and only 200.00 to spend over the course of the week. EEP.

Court: Poor, poor Patience. I felt bad for her, but thought from the get go that she was so dang funny that I couldn't wait to see where the story was going. It went some good places, and brought some major awkward...because I love the awkward!

Shel: Patience has some really funny observations about the people at the resort and the guys that ask her out. She has 3 opportunities to "get over her ex" with rebound sex with 3 different hot guys: a surfer, a hot Italian American salesman, and a scientist with a hot accent. As each of these guys take her on dates and try to woo her mishaps and awkwardness ensues...fortunately she gets some good meals out of it! These dates and all of their awkwardness were really great...laugh out loud moments.

Court: Poor thing had to go to great lengths just to have clean clothes, because she had none. I would've been freaking out, let alone trying to find a rebound. She definitely made lemonade out of her lemons, and was seriously fun. My favorite guy out of the three had to be the surfer..because he said like, like all the time.

Shel: Meanwhile as she's trying to find a great rebound, she's managed to befriend Huey an up and coming screenwriter. They have great conversations, witty exchanges, and we quickly learn that he's a really really great guy. She learns this too...as evidence by her thoughts often going to him when she's on dates with these other guys.

Court: Their scenes are some of the best dialogue ever, because it was genuine, fun and witty banter that I very much enjoyed. Huey has a very dry sense of humor and at first seems like a serious weirdo but the more they talk and get to know each other while working on his screen play the more I hoped she would tell the stoner, Ted, and the stargazer to take a hike. So many options, so little time! Hhhmmm...who's it going to be! Eeep!

Shel: Huey is great--a nice guy..yes, I know for some this is the kiss of death but I found it refreshing to read about a guy who is nice, witty, smart, and genuinely good. He's not an alpha, not Mr. Muscles...he's just Huey. I kinda heart him.

Court: I heart him too. I was just thinking the same thing...she has her usual type of the handsome muscled variety like her ex, and I was majorly rooting for the pale hipster guy that gets a orange glow spray tan just because she mentioned it.

Shel: At the end of the vacation does Patience get what she wants? Rebound sex with a hot guy? Read and find out! I will say, though, that I wouldn't mind a continuation of where Huey and Patience end up next. Court: Oh wait. We forgot one. There was a moment along the way with the amazing hottie actor Jamie too. Dang, that is a lot of male attention in a one week vacation, but it was really really funny!

*I was provided with a copy of this book for the blog tour. Thank you!*

O.M.G. This book is pure awesomeness! I loved every single word of it and I would read it any time! PER-FECT!

‘Vacationista’ is the kind of book that cheers you up. It’s drama free. Well, maybe not exactly drama free, but it has that funny drama in it. That drama that makes you laugh, not cry. Also, this book is perfect for summer or for the beginning of autumn. It just warms you and it reminds you of good times on the beach.

Ok, so I loved the book from the first word. When I opened it and I started to read I knew I found a book that I would have a good time with. And my predictions were right. ‘Vacationista’ isn’t only a easy to read book. It’s funny, it’s well written, it’s an amazing love story, it’s everything you might want when you are depressed because school starts in a week. xD

Hm… I don’t even know what I liked the most about this book. ‘The nudge’ or the funny drama or the atmosphere? Probably Patience and Huey.. oh and Coco. We can’t forget about Coco. She was important.

When ‘I met’ Huey for the first time, well… I knew he was a nudge. xD No, seriously. I knew he is great. And he was funny and smart. Really, really smart. And even though he wasn’t tanned and didn’t have hard abs, he’s perfect for Patience.

Speaking of Patience… well, the girl is crazy. The things she did and said were crazy. But I loved her. And she and Huey are perfect for each other. The chemistry between them is obvious from the very first moment they met. Their dialogues are smart and dripping with flirt and sarcasm.

Every character in this book is portrated in an amazing way. Even if they are supporting characters we get to know them and their personalities.

The atmosphere in this book gives you a great vibe. It’s very relaxed and it makes you wanna book a trip in Maui.

The book is very short and I don’t know if I liked this or not. I usually like it when I read a book in a day, but this time I wanted to spend more time with Huey and Patience. As a couple, of course. Oh, and this is why I want a sequel. I wanna read more about Patience and Huey as a couple and see their new adventures.

Oh em gi I almost forgot about Gina. My my, that woman is a blast! Literally! I loved her from the beginning. So powerful, so determinated, so lovely. I would love if the author would write Gina’s book. I wanna know her better.

So… I definitely recommend ‘Vacationista’, one of my favorite reads this summer. It’s perfect if you want a read that would cheer you up. The love story will make you grin, like it made me grin. Go and read it!

Patience Mercedes Cecilia De La Rosa is the second luckiest girl in the world, according to herself. Number one, would her boss and friend Gina. Patience is getting read for a week long trip in Maui, alone.

That isn't how she planned it though. She has purchased the trip as a birthday present for her at the time boyfriend, Dan. Dan is a chump. I'm sure all of us ladies out there as dated someone like Dan. Loves to make rules, but they don't apply to them...

Back to Patience... So Gina, and everyone else, is telling Patience to go have rebound sex! It's easier said that done. Patience isn't that time of girl. Gina doesn't listen and asks Patience if she went to get a Brazilian from her 'vagina designer' (I seriously lost it when I read that!) Svelanka. Patience was like no, no, no... I'm not going to have sex... Well Gina is awesome and doesn't listen, and calls to schedule Patience an appointment with the vagina designer.

The appointment goes well, and afterwards is where it goes a little crazy! Svelanka reads tea leaves... And she reads Patience tea leaves. They tell her that she is going to meet three men on her journey and is going to have causal sex with all of them, and she will end up having a causal sex vacation, all the time. Patience freaks out... But before she leave though, Gina gives her a pair of limited edition denim espadrilles with a huge Chanel logo...

There is some drama before Patience makes it to the airport to head to Maui. All I can say is douche bag!! Once Patience arrives to Maui, her luggage is MIA. So with her maxed out credit card, $200 in cash and her airline approved toiletries, she heads to the Alana Kai.

Svelanka's vision does somewhat come true. Patience meets three guys while in Maui: Quinn, Ted and Stefan. Patience thinks that these guys are what she needs for her rebound sex. But there is one more guy she meets; Huey. The nudge as he is referred to in the beginning because he is annoying...

Lots of laugh out loud moments happen while Patience is in Maui. Oh my goodness girl. I woke up my husband laughing reading this book. I absolutely love Patience. So many of us have been in her shoes, I wish I could be in the Chanel shoes, after a break up. Thinking a fling with anyone will make the Dan feelings go away. I believe Patience realizes that just any guy won't work. And because of that, she picks the guy(s) she does in the end.

5 stars out of 5. I absolutely LOVED this story. It's a great read. And her dates, bahahaha, I felt so bad for her, but I couldn't help laughing. The ending is perfect!!

HILARIOUS…ROMANTIC...COMEDY!

Vacationista is a wonderful romance about Patience Mercedes Cecilia De La Rosa, a twenty-six years old assistant buyer to Gina Reale the goddess buyer in the retail footwear industry. Patience considers herself the luckiest girl in the world with the best job and boss ever, but unfortunately her personal love life has not been lucky recently.

Patience had planned a week vacation a year ago to take a much needed paradise retreat to Maui at a beautiful resort, but she finds herself unexpectedly breaking up with her boyfriend, Dan, of several years. Patience was now single and determined to go to Maui to enjoy herself regardless of her recent breakup and Gina was sending her well wishes with two departing gifts. One was a complimentary waxing with Svelanka, what Patience did not expect was the fortune Svelanka was going to share with her after her wax and tea. The other gift was a pair of limited edition denim espadrilles with a huge Chanel logo, which she names Coco. Coco is now her best friend on all her adventures on her vacation, because she has decided her going to look for a rebound man.

While enjoying herself on the poolside, she meets Houston ‘Huey’ Anders a thirty-two year old movie screen writer who is just a little quirky, funny, pale skinned, and very sweet. Patience takes Coco with her on her different dates, Quinn the HOT Californian Bartender/Surfer, Ted Caifiano the Italian pharmaceutical sales god, Stefan a HOT German science engineer, but always ends and/or starts her days with Huey because Patience is Huey’s literature muse.

Whom will Patience decide to have rebound sex with or will she and Coco just simply go home after a week in paradise? Vacationista is a HILARIOUS LOVE STORY that will capture your attention immediately and will be unable to put the book down. Author Tara Simone debuts her first novel, Vacationista, and has done a FANTASTIC job writing a romantic comedy that captivates you immediately capturing your interest to go on the adventures with Patience and Coco and laughing uncontrollably.

I rate Tara Simone’ first novel in the Sole Mates series, Vacationista - 5 AMAZING STARS!

Patience De La Rosa books a romantic trip to Maui for two for her boyfriend’s birthday, not knowing that when the time came, she would be single. Before she leaves, a tea leaf reader tells Patience that on her trip, she will meet 3 rebound guys, and with everyone telling her that is exactly what she needs to get over her ex, why not have some fun? The romantic trip for two turns into the trip from hell for a single girl at a resort full of honeymooners – her luggage never made it onto the plane with her, so she only has the clothes on her back, a teeny bikini, a maxed-out credit card, only $200 cash, and her Chanel Espadrille shoes, affectionately named Coco.

On her first day there she meets Huey, a nerdy, pasty-white Hollywood screenwriter, and he is dismissed pretty quickly as a rebound option. Then over the next few days the hilarity ensues – will the rebound guys include Quinn, the hot surfer/bartender with the Peter Pan complex? Ted, the pharmaceutical guy, who is an Italian God, but is so full of himself it’s ridiculous? Jamie Dillon, the movie star voted Sexiest Man Alive (who could also be a contender for Dumbest Man Alive)? Or maybe Stefan, the super boring, super brainy engineer who just wants to show Patience his “telescope”? They don’t have to be marriage material, she’s just looking for a rebound and maybe a free meal. All the while, Huey keeps popping up everywhere she turns…maybe he’s not a bad friend to have around – if nothing else he can keep her fed (which is proving difficult with a limited budget and outrageously priced food).

Vacationista is such a fun book, you will love following along with the adventures of Patience and Coco! It is the perfect beach read, but even in a blizzard it’ll warm you up on the inside. I had a smile on my face the entire time and read it in one sitting…I just couldn’t put it down! I loved Huey from the beginning, but I’ve always had a thing for quick-witted, nerdy guys, and the banter between Patience and Huey was non-stop entertainment. 1-Click it now, you won’t be disappointed!

The Vacationista is such a wonderful story. It is a different kind of love story. The main character Patience bought tickets to go to Maui to spend a week long honeymooners vacation with her boyfriend. Little did she know that she would break up with her boyfriend before the trip. Now she has two tickets and nobody to go with. Her friend and boss talks Patience into going anyways and she even takes her to get her legs waxed and a tea leaf reading (thrown in for free) where Patience hears that she will be with 3 men. Afterwards Patience is off to Maui to have a great time and maybe a summer fling or two.

After arriving in Maui Patience finds out that her luggage is not on the plane and she would have to start her vacation with what she is wearing, a bathing suit and anything else in her carry on bag.

First thing Patience does is go out to the swimming pool to tan. She sees a man on his laptop and decides that he isn't worth her time. Then the fun really starts. Patience meets many people and ends up having a lot of fun and new adventures. She has some mishaps with men but has a pretty good vacation. She does have one great fling before her vacation is over but it wasn't easy to get there.

When she goes home Patience keeps drifting off thinking about her fling that she just can't get over. Little does she know that things may change... Oh and her luggage didn't arrive all week.

This story was so cute without going overboard. I like when I can read a story where you know something is going to happen and can just picture it without hearing all of the TMI info that is going on. Tara did that in this story. I really liked it and would definitely recommend it to anyone. :) I can't wait to read more from Tara Simone!

As a gift to her then boyfriend, Patience De La Rosa booked an amazing non refundable getaway to Maui as a birthday present. After being together for three years she never expected that she was going to have to make that trip alone. She had her doubts about going . She knew that nothing great was going to happen on this vacation but with her friends and bosses encouragement she takes the plunge and ends up forcing herself to go anyway. As she gets there just as expected things go bad to worst.

Almost everything that could possibly go wrong happens to her but surprisingly Patience takes everything pretty well. She tries to make the most of her stay and follows their advice to just relax and enjoy herself and perhaps find a rebound guy. So many opportunities are thrown her way but she just could not find the right fit with all these random men up until she gets to know Huey.

Huey is a guy that irritated her from the very beginning but as they spend an odd amount of time together he grows on her. They started off on the wrong foot bickering and end up becoming very comical and playful friends and I thought it was done brilliantly!

I immensely enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were great especially Patience. I also enjoyed the fact that the couples' relationship started from an easy friendship. The only thing I disliked about it was it ended too soon. I loved it so much I want to read more about this couple and I am sure when you finish this story you would feel the same way too.

Looking for a ridiculously hilarious and light-hearted read? Then this one is a perfect choice for you. Recommended!

Vacationista is a stand alone romantic comedy, and also the first novel in the Sole Mates series.
This book is a great read for poolside, the beach or just relaxing. I loved how the book flowed and the way the author made the main character multi-dimensional. I found myself anxiously looking forward to the next chapters. Miss Simone wrote an amazing story of a woman finding her way through a break-up and into love again. Wonderfully written and I highly recommend this book to anyone. Especially if you want to feel as though you are in Maui with along side Patience.

Patience De La Rosa is a young woman who has a dream job as an assistant shoe buyer. She booked a couples vacation with her then boyfriend but ends up going alone because he broke up with her. Her vacation starts out with her luggage taking its own trip, leaving her with only the clothes she has on, one bikini and a pair of denim Chanel Espadrilles appropriately named Coco, that she consults throughout her trip. Patience has only brought $200 with her and has to be ingenious in making it last for her 7 day trip. She meets four completely different men. And although she does try to have rebound sex, it doesn't work out.

Patience does find a friend in Huey Anders. Huey is a screenwriter and Patience finds herself helping him finish a screenplay. They laugh and talk while working on the script. Patience finds herself looking for Huey and enjoying their time together. However it's the day that she is leaving before she realizes why she is so drawn to him.

Let me just say Wow!! When I first started to read Vacationista by Tara Simone, I thought please let the girl end up with a wonderful guy and not just some vacation fling. Well Tara did not disappoint. Vacationista is absolutely a wonderful funny read. I could not put it down. I ended up starting to read it late at night and ended up waking everyone up from laughing so much.

Patience De La Rosa ends up finding herself alone on a beach vacation after breaking up with her boyfriend of 3 years. At first she is so determined after a tea leaf reading to have not one but three one night stands because that is what she is told is going to happen. But along the way she runs into some snags. Her luggage is lost, she has maxed out her credit card (on said vacation, because she wanted to surprise her ex), and she only has $200.00 to her name for an entire week.

Patience ends up meeting Huey, a funny and I think adorable screenwriter from LA, by the pool when she wants to relax. At first, she thinks Huey is this weird guy, but he turns out to be a wonderful man that helps her learn things along the way and she becomes his muse.

This is a wonderful read and I know you will enjoy reading it. It will make you laugh until it hurts by the journey that Patience goes through to find out what she really wants. It is a must read!!!

Patience De La Rosa lives up to her name. Patience has booked a Groupon like vacay in a Sandals-esque resort, but instead of sex on the beach she finds a ghostly dude with a laptop full of one-liners and to top it off the airline lost her luggage. As a fellow victim to the lost luggage brigade I did not exercise due fortitude and I only had to wait a couple of hours, so kudos to P for being so patient.

Now I like to think of myself as a maxxinista, but I wouldn’t mind be a vacationista too. I am a big fan of banter and one-liners and Vacationista is chock full of ‘em. The dialogue is snappy, snarky, and rapid-fire. Patience and Huey are believable and loveable characters. I really liked that Huey was a screenwriter and I would love to see this story up on the big or small screen.

Vacationista is a bit light on the romance. I would have liked a bit more intimacy, but it is a nice change of pace from the wham, bam. Also the tea reading storyline kind of went nowhere. Nevertheless, Vacationista is a delightful, romantic comedy that will have you believe in the power of love or at least in the power of Huey.

Patience De La Rosa dumped her boyfriend after realizing that their relationship was a double standard. She was asked to abide by rules that he broke at every opportunity. Patience struggles with regretting her decision and knowing she did the right thing. Determined to take advantage of the vacation she spent her last dime buying for the two of them to share, Patience flies to Maui for a solo trip and is urged by her friends to have lots of casual "rebound" sex. Patience is not a casual sex type of girl but she wonders if rebound sex might be just what she needs to get over her ex once and for all. When she meets several gorgeous men who are more than willing to put her plan into action, the novel really takes off.

Vacationista is the ultimate beach or "vacation" read. Despite the fact that I have very limited reading time, I managed to finish the book in two days. That says a lot. The story was such a quick, fun read that never got bogged down with unnecessary detail or description. The men in the book were equally comical in different ways. My favorite was definitely Huey. Patience herself was a likeable character, if not a bit too perfect. The romance was predictable but in a good way. I knew who Patience would end up with pretty quickly but not how it would happen and the journey was a whole lot of fun. I loved the way everything was tied together at the end because it fit the story and the development of Patience as a character. The one criticism I have is that the proofreader could have done a better job. The typos, however, did not distract from my enjoyment of the novel, however, and I would be happy to read another book by Tara Simone.

Fun, witty, summer read. Patience is stuck with a nonrefundable trip to Maui that she purchased for her ex's birthday. And even though they broke up three months ago, she's starting to question her decision to break up with her ex, Dan. Although she doesn't have any proof that he cheated, his actions weren't that of a committed, doting boyfriend. So off to Maui she goes! Once in paradise, Patience is starting to rethink her decision to get on the plane. Yes, the five star resort is gorgeous. Yes, she's in paradise. Yes, she's in desperate need of some R & R, but she's surrounded by star-crossed lovers without a single rebound in sight. Follow Patience over the course of the week she's in Maui, while she tries to stay within her paltry $200 budget and avoid stares while she reuses the same outfit day after day since her luggage was sent on a trip halfway around the world without her.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a fun, light, fast read - exactly what I was in the mood for. Patience (that's her name) buys a surprise Hawaiian vacation for her and her boyfriend of 3 years only to have the relationship end 3 months before the trip. She goes to what is essentially newleywed central for a week and meets the most interecting characters. BTW: Her luggage is lost by the airline and she only has $200 for a week. All of the men in Hawaii cracked me up and there's a special place in my heart for each of them. If you're looking for a lot of angst, a triangle or a cliffhanger...this is not the book you want. If you hant to smile, laugh and feel good about an ending, pick this one up. You won't be disappointed!

Witty, fun, charming and very interesting.
This is one of those rare books, despite it being a genre I don't normally read, I couldn't put down. Loved it. Definitely recommend for those who enjoy shoes, heartbreak, exotic locales, colorful characters and witty stories.

I received this book from Goodreads.
