Everybody has a dream, and for Shô Kazamatsuri, that dream is simple: he wants to be the best soccer player he can possibly be. He's the spirited leader of the Josui Junior High team and everyone looks up to him. In turn, he tries to keep the team together at any cost!

Everybody has a dream, and for Shô Kazamatsuri, that dream is simple: he wants to be the best soccer player he can possibly be. An inspiration to everyone he meets, the indefatigable spark plug won't quit until he leads Josui Junior High to victory!

Though the season is still young, Shô has already learned the value of teamwork. He understands that an outstanding singular effort isn't always enough to ensure a winning record.

The rest of Josui's squad, however, is still grappling with the whole team unity concept. This flaw becomes amplified during a match against Iwa Tech, an opponent that takes pride in its impenetrable line of defense. It'll take the efforts of more than one or two players to get close to Tech's goal. It's time that Shô and his crew finally put their individual differences aside to form a unified team.

That was pretty epic.

I said in the review for Volume 6 that the best part is the games and its really true. Everything about this manga shines during the games.

The character development happens most drastically and noticeably during the games. You can see each of the characters adapting and changing to the circumstances. Have to say, Daichi is my favorite character. He plays his position (GK or Goal Keeper) quite well for someone who hasn't played before.

The art style got sketchier in this one because of the higher action to not ratio. I think it works for the look they are going for.

I can tell this series is really about everyone on the team improving. They've gone through a few different characters so far and I can tell they've got more planned. It's very refreshing to see that.

Whistle!, Vol. 7 continues where the previous tankobon left off and contains the next nine chapters (54–62) of the on-going manga series.

The tankobon opens with Sakura Josui getting ready for the Summer Championship Tournament with the first match with Iwashimizu Technical. While the offensive game is top notch, their defence game is much to be desired. It seems that Daichi Fuwa and the defence team doesn't trust each other much, in particular Hideyoshi Noro, who isn't growing as quickly as the rest of the team. While they try to mend their relationship, they couldn't do it in time for the game.

Meanwhile Yuki Kojima is off doing reconnaissance for the team. However, what she found was perplexing. It seemed that Iwashimizu Technical is a different team to every school they play and seemed to exploit their weakness with uncanny ability. Apparently Iwashimizu Technical spies on their opponent’s team practise and records them to find their weakness and uses it against them at their game.

On the day of their game, Izwashimizu Technical plays an extremely defensive game to prevent their forwards and best players in scoring. When they finally get the advantage, they play a very offensive game to exploit their defensive weaknesses. At the end of the first half, Iwashimizu Technical scored a goal due to exploiting the weakness of the Sakura Josui Team. During halftime, Daichi Fuwa has a "heart-to-heart" with Hideyoshi Noro as they head into the second half of the game.

The second half of the game was just as difficult, but everyone including the defence team has upped their game. Although it takes some time, Hideyoshi Noro felt the passion in playing the game and he too upped his defensive game. The end of the tankobon has Sakura Josui Team scoring two goals with a few seconds left in the game. However, the game isn't over yet, as Iwashimizu Technical is going on the offensive.

Daisuke Higuchi has written and illustrated this tankobon. For the most part I really liked the story – it was rather interesting reading about Daichi Fuwa and how he thinks and operates. His relationship with his defence players especially Hideyoshi Noro is rather comical, but I was glad that it was addressed. Her loquaciousness has lessen in this tankobon, but it's still rather noticeable.

All in all, Whistle!, Vol. 7 is a wonderful continuation of the series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

I know I haven't written anything for these series until now but it really is a great series.Just because of the boy Shino from this book it makes me want to try harder and yes I know it's "comics" but the real name for it is "manga" because it's from Japan not american comics. But yeah, this really makes me want to strive harder to reach my goals and dreams.
