Samantha works as a receptionist for her brother at his construction company, but she wants more responsibility. So she gets tasked to oversee the new JB build. James is part owner of JB capital and meets with Samantha for an inspection. He sees Samantha and just knows she is his One and nothing and nobody can stop him from getting his woman. But when someone threatens her life , things change... Or maybe not ?? Instalove, OTT, J/P obsessed man, romantic, steamy, with a bit of action and a bit of drama(delusional woman, not real OWD😉) and safe with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for Jason to get his stubborn Elise😊🤣👍

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Samantha is excited to be representing her brother Landon’s construction company as a site inspector for a huge build project in Chicago. When she arrives she meets James to owner of the company, it is love at first sight for both of them. James insists that she not check into her hotel but to come stay at his house. Soon they can’t keep their hands off each other and they get caught making out by the city building inspector and Cheryl the forewoman for the project. Cheryl has been very obvious in her interest in James and was hoping that the numerous problems on the site would let them spend time together and get closer. That’s not happening, James only has eyes for Samantha, plus he was never interested in Cheryl.
All the construction issues and Cheryl’s bad attitude towards Samantha gets her fired.
Samantha extends her stay until a new foreperson can be found. During that time they enjoy sexy times, she’s a virgin he’s long time celibate.
Soon he starts getting demanding and threatening text messages, the sender wants him to break up with Samantha. If he doesn’t she will be killed, he’s worried because there was an incident that could have hurt Samantha very badly on the site right after Cheryl was fired. He gets Jonah Carrington involved to find who’s sending the texts but they haven’t found the sender yet. Insert major eye roll here, how are these clueless men billionaires? Mind boggling, the texts call Samantha a bitch and ask him to break up with her, hinting the sender is a woman. What woman have you all pissed off recently? Hmmm? 🤦🏾♀️
To protect her, he with her brother’s blessing (Landon’s been bought into the loop) he breaks up with her. She’s heartbroken and spends a few days crying. Then has a light bulb moment, Landon threatened all kinds of things if James hurt Samantha, but he has been very calm after the breakup. She rushes to James’s house to confront him, he’s thrilled but scared at seeing her. He explains and soon Tucker Carrington arrives with their plan to get Cheryl to confess to threatening Samantha’s life. The sting operation works and Cheryl is arrested.
Epilogue with them married and now expecting their first baby. It also sets up Jason, the third brother’s book.
I know the kooky stalker Cheryl was following them but there was no public breakup so how did Cheryl know they followed her instructions and weren’t together anymore? There was no reason for James to break her heart, he should have just told her about the danger to her and had her hide out at her brother’s or in James’s house. The whole not so real real breakup was not necessary. She was a smart girl she should have had a say in her own protection.

-short separation - the H broke up with the heroine to protect her, he didn't tell her that it was a fake breakup because she was not a good liar and her life was in danger (the whole thing was stupid as fuck, he could've told her the truth in private, I doubt that she couldn't have acted as if the hero had broken up with her, I would've been pissed if I were her, I mean she was pretty immature but he was going to marry her so shouldn't he trust her instead of treating her like a child?...)

James miiiight be my favorite Bardot brother. Samantha Heath has never had any interest in men, no one seemed to spark her desire. Until she walked into James' office. Good thing James felt the same way. While the saying goes "Bros before...." James doesn't care that Samantha is his very good friends little sister. He is determined to make her his, asap. I loved watching Samantha step into her own and stand up against Cheryl and when she went after James when she figured out the break up was for her protection. As well as James' conversation with Samantha's brother. These two were made for each other and weren't gonna let anyone stand in their way. As per usual there was plenty of the FD signature steam. I mean the bathtubs scenes with these two was enough to melt ya girls kindle. I loved this story so much and I need more from this world!!!

I've been waiting on this book, and it did not disappoint. I liked the dual epilogues from both PoVs. I would have liked to have seen just a bit more, but I understand page limits.

Samantha works for her brother and talks him into letting her take the lead on a project. When she gets to Jame’s office there is an instant attraction to each other. James decides that he needs more time with her so he talks her into staying at his house. When their site inspection goes badly she must stay longer to deal with all the issues. While dealing with the issues they realize that there is something between them that they both want to pursue except someone doesn’t want them together and threatens Samantha if he doesn’t break up with her. With the help of his friends can they figure out who it could be? Can’t wait for the next book.

I have been excited to dive into this read and I got everything I expected and more. I lost myself in this mesmerizing world the author duo has created from the start. James and Samantha had my heart from the first page. I was in awe with there love and there chemistry was smoking hot. There were so many instances where James made me swoon and I loved Samantha's strength. They are meant to be and I was rooting for them. Cannot wait for the next book. Thanks to the author duo for the advanced copy of this amazing read.

James Bardot, a wealthy businessman, didn't anticipate his future entering his workspace. James recognized Samantha Heath as his right away when she acted in such way. Samantha and James were a perfect match. James is a devoted, jealous man who would stop at nothing to get and protect his beloved. What a fantastic and romantic love tale! It was fantastic, and I can't wait to read Jason's story! This book was steamy and seductive with a hint of mystery. A book by Fiona Davenport is consistently a good choice. I enjoyed it!!!

This was a fantastic book. I loved the instant connection and chemistry. I thought James and Samantha were prefect for each other . James is obsessed possessive man who will do anything to get and keep his sassy woman safe. I really enjoyed the drama and hwo Samantha wasn't going to let James keep her in the dark. I am really looking forward to this fantastic duo's next books.

These stories are so freaking cute, wholesome and steamy. The banter is epic and the guys fall incredibly hard for their women. The twists to these stories are amazing and the writing is great. I love that it's all interconnected as it's based in a friend group. Insta loves aren't usually my thing but when they're done well they are a great little story to read when you have time.

James & Samantha are spicy sweet! I love that Samantha is confident and shy at the same time. James is instantly smitten & does his best to move Samantha in right away, which the way he went about it was quite amusing!
There's a bit of suspense to this story & I love the way Samantha figures out what's going on & how she handles it. Also, the Landon dynamic! 🤣🤣🤣

James is very typical Barbdot male cuz the moment he saw Samantha he turned into a very typical alpha male.
I love the part where Samantha confronts James after the "fake" breakup. That shows how strong Women Samantha character is. Not only she is beautiful woman but she is also a fighter ♥️

Great story
I absolutely love the instalove in this story. I appreciated that the scenes that are the reason for the book title, the not-so real breakup scenes, weren't gut wrenching for the reader and that Samantha didn't suffer long. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Very good series, this is the Story of James and Samantha. They never expected to find love so suddenly, and when they met that happened to them. This book has an entertaining plot with the right touches to enjoy reading and with a happy ending.
