Ghosts may never die, but the girls found in the Kennicott Ghost Town aren’t so lucky…
And luck is the killer’s MO. He plays games of chance with his victims. Some are released if they win, but others are forced to go all-in. Poker chips, dice, lottery slips are left in the hands of the deceased as a taunting reminder of the killer’s cruel designs.
High-profile victims are showing up in the abandoned Alaskan town, amidst the desolate buildings and old copper mineshafts. The daughter of a mayor, the wife of a police chief—the killer seems to be escalating.
Agent Ella Porter finds herself entangled in a deadly cat-and-mouse game with a cunning killer. As bodies begin to pile up, thrown down old copper mineshafts, Ella races against time to solve the case before more lives are claimed.
But following a shocking revelation of blackmail, and months of secrecy, Ella realizes the case isn’t at all what she first thought.
As Ella delves deeper into the twisted psyche of the killer, she unearths a haunting history that connects the present-day crimes to the forgotten past of the ghost town.
Having worked on projects with New York Times Bestsellers and USA Today bestsellers, Georgia Wagner recently hit #1 bestseller with her newest series. Location and character are two big factors for Georgia, and getting those right allows the story to flow seamlessly onto the page. And flow it does, because Georgia is so prolific a new term is required to describe the rate at which nerve-tingling stories find their way into print.
When not found attached to a laptop, Georgia likes spending time in local arboretums, among the trees and ponds. An avid cultivator of orchids, begonias, and all things floral, Georgia also has a strong penchant for art, paintings, and sculptures. A many-decades-long passion for mystery novels and years of chess tournament experience makes Georgia the perfect person to pen the Artemis Blythe series. That's where it all started, but the drive to craft thrilling mystery tales soon demanded new characters in new locations.
Awesome! This is book seven in the series and it’s advantageous to have read the rest but it catches up . Thriller set in Alaska. A chilling read indeed . Ella porter has to search for a missing Mayor’s daughter and finds herself a target of this crazed killer, he has an addiction to the game of chance - luck . He feels he’s helping by getting rid of the unlucky one of a similar pair . When he finds he has a twin in pursuit ,he’s excited to capture his prize……Her sister Priscilla and her chief of police husband are demanding of her time and she’s not forgotten about her father’s dealings and him putting a target on her own back….Compelling dark thriller that captivates the reader and keeps their attention to the conclusion of the book. Well written , great characters and development and excellent descriptions for a immersive experience. I read an arc of this book and I give an honest review voluntary and in my own words
Ella is hunting a killer of doppelgängers. He calls them extras the lookalikes and kills one of them.
Ella keeps getting sidetracked on her hunt for the Architect. The leader of the cotillion, the company of mad crazy killers. Local things keep popping up. Like the Governor’s daughter Lily missing from school. All hands are hunting her when they find her lookalike dead. The law enforcement is turning the state upside down. Then they settle on an old Kennicot mining ghost town and find more bodies. Now its a cluster of people running around not accomplishing anything except letting the killer join them. Brenner is put in jeopardy twice and how to keep him alive almost get Ella killed. These stories are fantastic. Fast read just because you don’t put them down. Can’t wait for next.
This is the 7th about FBI Agent Ella Porter and her partner/boyfriend Marshall Gunn. This time they are headed to a GhostTown. The governor's daughter has been kidnapped and with the clues that they are being lead to follow they wind up in an old Ghost Town and mine.
This serial killer hides in plain sight and Ella's luck just might run out this time. Escaping from the killer, being on an airplane that is ready to crash against a mountain, this will have you turning the pages.
Sometimes it's all about the luck of the draw. Then other times it's about being able to trust the one dealing out the cards. This case has a maniacal psychopath on the loose who is obsessed with coins and the luck of the draw. Heads you win, tails you lose. Not much leeway for chance or recovery. Great thriller!
Can't deny a good book. EPA is looking for a missing teen and it takes her and Brenner to a deserted mining town. This book has non-stop action and keeps your interest until the end. There are multiple twists and turns that make you continue reading past you bed time. Highly recommended.
Opening chapters are so important for obvious reasons and chapter one in this novel grabs your attention and every breath you take. It's a work of art. Chilling and not because it's a winter in Alaska. A fantastic addition to a tense and gut-wrenching series. Very Highly Recommended.
these series keep getting better and better. Thank you for another epic hit. That keeps me sitting on the edge of my seat and helps me get through my workouts. I’m looking forward to the next volume.
I read the entire book in one sitting. It's rare to find a series that's more and more gripping the more you read its books. I am only upset that I know it has to end.
