An obsession spanning decades. A ghost from my past. I turned away from the darkness—but Carson wants to drag me back.
I thought my life was charmed. I own a bar, have great friends, and things always seem to work out in my favor.
At least until Carson Crowley comes storming back into my world.
He’s a mafia prince, the kind of man that smolders whenever he enters a room. I’ve always been drawn to him—and equally repulsed by his violent lifestyle.
Now my brother’s in trouble, my father’s been killed, and I’m next, unless I marry Carson.
His protection feels like possession.
Things only get weirder. The moment I put his ring on my finger, he acts like he’s completely enamored with me.
Gifts, attention, praise, physical affection. He showers me with his love, and it’s completely overwhelming.
It doesn’t make sense. I thought this was a business arrangement.
Until one night, Carson shows me the truth—and I find out how deep obsession can go.
well this is supposed to be a 4 star read had it not been for the fmc. she was goddamn infuriating, prideful, and stubborn, she ruined the book for me and i really dislike her, hate is way too strong but i'm slowly leaning towards that. to be honest she doesn't deserve carson. he's way better off without her, why did he even stuck with her? i'll never know.
i really like the story and carson carry the weight of this book. he was the only thing that had me going. for the life of me i cannot understand why did he try so hard to be with ashlyn. he's just too good for her.

Carson is next in this series and the eldest son of the family has secrets.
I have to say the Carson we met in the first book is NOT AT ALL like the Carson in this book. It was a bit odd? I think I needed to disconnect from the first book to really focus on this version of him.
Ash is someone who cut all contact with her family ten years ago since she wanted nothing to do with the criminal activities they were a part, nor did she want to be near the Crowly family. Sadly, though she finds out her brother is in trouble and most of her family is dead.
Carson wants nothing more than to protect Ash from everyone as she is being hunted by whoever hurt her family. His solution? Get married and he can’t provide her with everything she desired. She can be free to keep her business afloat, to be protected and cared for. Ash seeing no other solution to her issue, agrees.
Thus, beginning Carson's obsession.
Or is it?
See we find out little by little that Carson calling Ash ''my little obsession'' and the subtle hints from what he reveals and his family’s reaction that Ash is not just someone he wanted to find to help now that she was in trouble and in danger…nope. Ash's brother reveals how deep his madness goes. For ten years he helped her behind the scenes, making sure she was safe, business stayed open, money was always around for her etc. He is BEYOND CRAZY for her and honestly in the real world, you should call the cops and get a restraining order but in the dark romance book world? I live for this.
He knows what he is doing is wrong and he knows he is insane, but he cannot stop. He loves her beyond everything, and she is the reason he exists.
We also find out he has been celibate for a decade while she had two long term boyfriends though I was shocked to hear he had nothing to do with the breakups. He just endured it.
He admits he would have kept his distance forever but her family’s demise and her brothers almost death, caused him to bring himself into her life and he couldn't stop himself once he had her.
After Ash finds out the truth, she removes herself from him and they are separated for one month or so. Whenever she would get rid of her ring: throw it out the window into the street, flush it down the toilet etc....that ring would appear the next day again.
I loved him. He was perfectly insane.
She finally realizes she loves him and actually does not hate his obsession despite knowing how crazy it all is.
Carson at the end of this book named the boss of the organization after his father passes away and honestly the parents in this book were just the same as the last book. You just did not care as they seemed so out of touch with their children and willing to even throw them under the bus to get what they wanted.
I really enjoyed this book and honestly you can skip book one of this series as Finn/Dara make no appearance whatsoever nor does it even impact this story.
We did finally meet Liam who is the elusive brother, and I can't wait to read his book, but first Nolan is next!
»You think I'm going to let my wife stay all alone?« »I'm not your wife. Don't say that again.« »You're not yet, but you will be.«

❥ 𝑨𝒔𝒉 Loved her! She was funny, kind and confident.
❥ 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 Omg he was so OBSESSED with Ash. A dangerous guardian angel.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 Definitely enjoyed reading - it was better than the first book. The plot was nice to read and the characters were well developed. This is a quick and entertaining read. Ash and Carson have a lot of tension and I liked their energy. Carson’s obsession was well portrayed and I could follow his thoughts easily.
There was so many things wrong with this story and I tried to ignore it but it bothered me more then I thought it would.😫
When the man is obsessed with you and has been stalking you for 10 years, you would think the guy is an absolute nut job, right? Carson was literally watching out for Ash, sending people to the bar as customers, sending money in various ways to help pay bills etc.. this man did EVERYTHING he could to help keep her bar open all while knowing he will never be able to be with her…
Ash on the other hand is a loud mouth brat who then finds out about this obsession after agreeing to marry him FOR MONEY TO HELP HER BAR only to call him a creep and stalker, acting like he has ruined her life?
This book was absolute RUBBISH and was such a disappointment when it had so much potential!
Decent read, bit creepy on the stalking/obsessed part, but at the same time it's not. Despite Carson's obsession with Ash, he keeps his distance and lets her do her own thing. Yes, he manipulated the situation that came up to his advantage, but at the end of the day it was Ash's decision. She went to praising her guardian angel, to hating him when she found out it was Carson. Carson's persistence is cute - the way he keeps returning the ring to her. Carson had my heart more than Ash - she was annoying.
Finished it in a day it was good. Too fast. Expected but good over all was good and to be honest I didn’t see what carson did was that bad maybe iam fucked up idk😂😂
With great enthusiasm, I add another book to my ever-growing series tracker! "Malicious Wedding" by BB Hamel has indeed been a roller-coaster of emotions.
The male protagonist's character is so perfectly unhinged, and his obsession with the female lead is beautifully portrayed. This painted portrait of obsession drove me to delightful madness - a testament to the author's skill in character development and plot progression.
Their dynamic is filled with banter, a fine balance of humor and tension that keeps the reader on their toes. This element of their relationship added a layer of complexity that was both entertaining and intriguing.
Furthermore, the concept of a marriage of convenience woven into the plot? Count me in.
And to top it all off, the fact that the male lead has been obsessed with her for years? Absolutely, without a doubt, count me in. This long-burning passion adds depth to his character and an extra layer of intensity to their relationship.
All in all, this book has been an engaging and exhilarating read, making me eager for the next book in the series.
The man was unhinged. Clinically he had an actual disorder because he was OBSESSED. And it was a bit scary not gonna lie, but I liked that he didn't really stop her from dating and being with others, I feel like that is the thing i have issue with in other such stories. I find his obsession with her worrying but also very.. healthy? Like it didn't affect her life except in minor ways-- except for the whole marriage thing - but that came later.
Legitimately one of the most annoying FMC’s I’ve ever read. She had nothing to be that mad about. Weirded out a little, sure but all the other stuff? Give me a break.
Ashlyn is the least exciting, most infuriating, most forgettable fmc I’ve ever read… and my comfort read is Den Of Vipers so that’s saying something! I feel like we’re given a lot of one off facts about her that are never fully explored like her mothers death or her father’s involvement in crime or her life over the last ten years. Even a shitty overly expositional flashback chapter would’ve made her slightly more bearable. She’s boring and annoying at the same time. The spice is also mid as fuck. Like we get like 3? Somewhat spicy scenes and only one that I’d actually consider descriptive enough to constitute actual spice and it’s just dull! It’s so gosh darn boring, and given that the way Carson is written it’s like the author tries to make him out to be oozing sex appeal and dominance I just wanted more from him? Look I know mafia romance is often devoid of plot and reliant upon the same few go to plot points and twists with a cookie cutter alphahole love interest but usually that’s redeemed by good spice and character development from the supporting cast! This had none of that! The characters are one dimensional and undeveloped, the spice is ass, and the fmc is annoying. Hell Carson sucks too, not as like a person but just in how poorly written he was.
All in all this book stole brain cells from me I will never get back, and I say that as a mafia romance lover. I’m going to ho read First Comes Blood or DOV or literally any other organized crime romance to clean my brain.
I'm kind of impressed with how the writer crafted Carson's secret and Ash's horror into an acceptable compromise almost to the end of the story's conclusion. The crux of the storyline was sweet - except Ash made it strange and disgusting. What bothers me is how she applied her prejudices against what she had perceived as good luck turning out to be driven by Carson as something bad. He never hurt her. He never approached her or tried to manipulate her feelings, nor did he brag about it. For ten years.
I'm not saying what he did was not a bit insane - it was, after all, the only way Carson kept himself sane. At least she made the right decision in the end. I really disliked her for awhile there for being over the top with her defiance. I repeat - he never hurt her, nor did he hurt or manipulate her closest friends. I dislike females who posture, yet think it's okay to accept and take advantage of a man's wealth. That was hypocritical. Her defiance would have been more meaningful had she returned ALL of what Carson's money had bought. Returning the ring was stupid if she kept everything else as well as the money. Two and a half stars. I actually loved Carson's character. That's the only reason the story got two stars. The other half a star was for an interesting storyline. Ashlyn's character took the indignance and posturing too far. He could have snapped altogether.
Carson obsession with Ash know no bounds when her life is threatened he comes with a solution to become his wife, only once she agrees she discovers it way more than a buisness deal. Well written steamy, obssesive, desires and more.

3.75stars--MALICIOUS WEDDING is the second instalment in BB Hamel’s contemporary, adult CROWLEY MAFIA FAMILY dark, erotic, organized crime series focusing on the Crowley Irish crime family. This is heir to the title Carson Crowley, and bar owner Ashlyn Locke’s story line. MALICIOUS WEDDING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information to the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Carson and Ash) MALICIOUS WEDDING follows in the aftermath of the shooting of Ashlyn’s brother Iain, a soldier in the Crowley organization. Iain is missing; Ashlyn’s family has been wiped out, and Carson offer to marry Ashlyn, in an effort to protect her against those taking aim but all is not well, and Ashlyn is about to discover that her brother’s mistakes do not compare to the secrets Carson is about to reveal. What ensues is the building but tempestuous relationship between Ash and Carson, and the potential fall-out when Ash walks away, without looking back.
The world building focuses on Carson’s obsession with our story line heroine. Carson, and Ashlyn’s brother Iain have been best friends since a young age but Carson’s obsession and need for Ashlyn is more than anyone could have imagined. As Ashlyn struggles with the truth, Carson must come to terms with losing the only woman he has ever loved.
The relationship between Ashlyn and Carson is a best friend’s younger sister in which Carson is unable to walk away from his best friend’s sister. As the next in command to one of the most powerful families in organized crime, Carson is determined to prove he is worthy of Ashlyn’s love but goes about doing so, in the worst way possible. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include Carson’s brothers Finn (Marriage of Sin 1), Nolan and Liam, their parents, and Carson’s drive/security Fitzgerald; Ashlyn’s brother Iain, and her co-workers and employees. The Crowley family is well aware of Carson’s ‘obsession’ with our story line heroine, an obsession that make them question Carson’s ability to lead in the event of their father’s death.
MALICIOUS WEDDING is a fast paced story of want and need, obsession and desire, power and control, family and relationships, friendships and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, twisted and thought-provoking; the romance is unconventional and intense; the characters are desperate and determined although Ashlyn’s stubbornness and pride place would have placed her in danger if not for the obsession of the man with whom she would fall in love.
DONT WASTE YOU TIME READING THIS STORY!! This is the most Ridiculous storyline!! I have ever read!!
Listen to why!! The heroine Ash life is in danger by the Polish Mafia her whole family has been shot and killed!! The Mafia boss Carson who her brother works for is protecting her. But she hates him because he is Mafia. Carson has been in love with Ash for 10 years. He has provided for her financially. She thinks she has a guardian Angle. He keeps her bankrupt bar from going out of business. He made all repair and upkeep on her bar and when she couldn't meet her payroll, he found creative ways to get cash to her. All without her knowing!! They call it Obsessions with her. I call it LOVE!! He never crossed the line with her for 10 damn years. He just watched over her. He never interfered with her and her lazy joke of boyfriends over the year. He never interfered with her life whatsoever. Until her brother Rawles up there enemy the Polish Mafia by getting the Boss daughter pregnant!! Carson entices her to marry him.
BUT when the idiot Ash finds out that her Guardian Angel and Protector is Carson head of the Crowley Mafia family she goes off!! She leaves him she throws her million-dollar + engagement ring in the toilet. She throws a Hissy Fit!! Calls him a Staker!! Treats him terrible. Even when the Polish mob tears up her bar and threatens her employees. Even when they are waiting to kill her in her friend's apartment and Carson stops her from going in because he knows they are in there waiting to kill her. He kills them first. She is still angry with him and he keeps trying to tell her he loves her. NO YOUR ARE STALKING ME!! GET OUT LEAVE ME ALONE!! I wanted Carson to leave her and let the Polish Mob kill the dumb "B"!!
THIS BIOCH IS STUPID DUMB AND IGNORANT!! She deserved to be killed. I wanted to yell at her and say Stalkers don't let you have boyfriends or don't let you live your personal life the way you want to without interfering!!
I DON'T GET IT!! She is being loved. protected, given untold wealth!! How does this make him and Obsessive Stalker!!
Book 2 in the Crowley family had me instantly hooked. Carson was crazy about Ash, obsessed about her for 10 years. He protected her, helped her in ways without her knowing. Ten years ago Ash made a decision to cut her family from her life, including her brother who she was close with, because of their connection with the Crowley’s- Carson’s family. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with any of them or the life it involved. And even though he didn’t like it, her brother Iain respected it and stayed away. But when he messes up and ends up in a coma, it’s up to Carson to keep Ash safe from the men after her now. This was a good, fast paced read with action and suspense. I was on pins and needles waiting to see what was coming and what her brother did to warrant the attack on their family. I had mixed feelings about Ash, I loved her sassiness and sarcasm at times, but found it over the top at times too. And I honestly couldn’t understand her feeling used or get her anger towards him when she found out everything he’d done in the last 10 years for her. She should’ve been shocked, yes, but also grateful to have had someone looking out for her. Instead she acted childish by throwing her ring out a window, then flushing it when he got it back for her. And she had no problem spending his money when she left him. Now Carson!! I loved him. Everything he did was for Ash. I loved his attempt to get her back. He respected her and loved her in his own crazy little way! I wished we would’ve gotten a little update on Finn and Dara, I loved their story. I’m excited for Nolan’s story next! And I really really hope we get Iain and Joanna’s story!
This is the 2nd story in The Crowley Mafia Family Series. Ashlyn has left her family 10 years ago due to their involvement in the Mafia. Over the years she believes that she has a guardian angel keeping her safe and her bar in business that was left to her by her grandfather. On a night Ash is trying to figure out how make payroll and keep the bar open Carson walks in like a sexy dark storm with bad news and Ash is shaken up with knowing her family has been killed and her brother, Iain is barely hanging on. Carson is the 2nd in command of the Irish Crime Family and with his insane obsession for Ash he’s able to use it as an advantage to finally have Ash a part of his life. Ash and Carson have both had an attraction towards one another but Ash walked away from that way of life and Carson respected her choice but was always there in the background keeping an eye out for her. When Ash’s life is threatened Carson moves to be her provider and will stop at nothing to make sure he doesn’t lose her. These two have interesting conversations and a heat between them that gets them into a relationship that neither one wants to stop. When Iain wakes up things go from a good strange to Ash walking away from Carson. Ash can’t believe how Carson never gives up on her and keeps trying to show her that he understands and loves her the way she deserves. Beautiful ending! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed reading about Carson Crowley and Ash. Carson is obsessed with Ash and has been for years but he kept his distance. He took care of her without her ever knowing but after certain circumstances he is given the opportunity to appear in her life. Carson takes this as his chance to make Ash his. Everyone is very well aware that of his obsession and how long it has gone on for but Ash. Ash tried to fight the attraction to Carson but being the center is his world is hard to fight. Carson loves to please Ash it gives him satisfaction her pleasure comes before his. Ash has never known pleasure like Carson can give her. Carson is a different man with Ash. When Ash finds out the truth about how involved Carson has been in her life he respects all the boundaries she asks for even if it kills him. I will say the determination of Carson and the wedding ring was entertaining. Ash does make a decision about their future together and the ending and how it comes together is perfect. I found it enlightening how Carson views love and obsession. “Love is heat and flame and sizzle. Love feels good for a short time, but love grows cold and stale after a while. Obsession is something more. It’s solid, it’s steel. Love is flame, but flames always burn themselves out. Metal can last forever.” I have always enjoyed reading books by this author and I’m never disappointed. My attention is grabbed from the beginning, there is action and I always get my HEA
Can obsession ever be a good thing? “Malicious Wedding”, a dark Mafia romance by B. B. Hamel may have you reconsidering your answer to that question. It’s the second book in the ‘Crowley Mafia Family’ series but it can be read as a complete standalone.
Ashlyn cut off all ties to her family a decade ago because they were involved with the Crowley criminal organization. She has struggled to make it on her own, only getting by because she’s gotten a lot of lucky breaks along the way. So, what happens when she finds out that she’s really been benefiting from someone obsessed with her? Carson is the heir to leadership of his family dynasty. He tries to respect Ashlyn’s desire to have nothing to do with his family – but it’s truly difficult for him. When the truth comes out, (as it always does), chaos ensues. Of course, everything is revealed because Ashlyn’s brother – Carson’s best friend – causes major, deadly trouble for everyone.
This is a story that surprised me because I was a fan of the antihero more than the heroine. You’ll need to read it and form your own opinion, but I think you’ll see what I mean. There’s plenty of family drama for both Ashlyn and Carson, along with lots of steam, some humor, and some suspense. I enjoyed the cast of secondary characters and what they added to the story. Now I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
... but beyond that , Carson seems to be a well-meaning guy. Obsessive, controlling, protective in ways that could be stiffling and crippling, but he doesn't go to the extreme which removes all struggle from the life of the target of his obsession; he simply manipulates her back from the edge each time without her detection. She can still grow and take risks but not to the point of failure.
Ashley struggles for ten years with an old family business that she inherited from her grandfather. It is only after her brother creates a situation that endangers her life that she discovers that Connor Crowley has been acting behind the scenes as her guardian angel for years. The story covers the events leading to the conflict between the Crowley organized crime family and a local Polish crime family as Connor protects both Ashley and her brother Iaen from death for revenge by the Polish mob.
It was an interesting story in which the comparison of love and obsession argued for the validity of Connor's POV that obsession is better than love. He convinced me that he had a valid point and I became pro-Connor. I enjoyed that they worked things out in the end and hopefully Ash learned to broaden her views a bit on how others can express devotion without it being in the traditional manner.
The Difference Between Obsession and Stalking - Ash may have thought she removed herself from the mob life when she cut her family out of her life, but what she didn’t know was that Carson had always been watching over her in the shadows. My heart ached for Ash when her life was threatened and she realised there was no other option for her but go accept Carson’s offer of protection. Even though they had their ups and downs in the beginning of their relationship, I was still on the edge of my seat rooting for them to get a happily ever after, whilst I understood Ash’s reason for wanting to walk away.
It took some time, but Carson finally realised after a while that letting her go was the right thing to do and if she really loved him, she would come back to him. Even though he held back, he still kept watch over her in the shadows and stepped in when it was required. This gave Ash the confidence to finally acknowledge her feelings for him and give them a chance at having a life together. I absolutely loves reading Carson and Ash’s love story, as it had me hooked from the beginning until the end. I challenge you to give this book a read and you’ll be just as spellbound as I was.

On the heels of Dara and Finn's story [Marriage of Sin], comes the oldest Crowley brother's love story. Although love is a funny way of describing Carson and Ashlyn's relationship. (Cause it isn’t!)
But, as we all know, these characters will find their HEA, and I really enjoyed it for them.
Ashlyn was easy to connect with, and I appreciated her desire to be independent. Carson has been supremely patient, but when an opportunity opens, he wastes no time securing Ashlyn as his wife. It's only then that she understands the depth of his obsession with her.
The chemistry between these two is entertaining and addictive. Their steamy connection is fun to watch as they navigate to their forever. His obsessive behavior is unnerving at times, and in real life, would be down right terrifying. This could be an issue for some. (Just FYI)
I sincerely enjoyed this one. It can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, but I would suggest reading Finn’s story first. As a fan of this author, I recommend reading her numerous other creative works as well. I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this book from Booksprout, and voluntarily leave my review.
H: Carson Crowley- Oldest son of the Crowley's family h: Ashlyn Locke-Owner of Bottle of Smoke bar So I read Book 3 and liked it so much that I decided to read this one nxt. Carson is obsessed with Ashlyn and for the past 10yrs he has pretty much been stalking her and making sure he helps her w/out her knowledge. Ashlyn cut off her family who decided to join the Crowley's Organization and she wanted to be part of that. This happened 10yrs ago. Then her brother got the Polish daughter pregnant and they decided to take revenge by killing his family which includes Ashlyn. In order to protect her, Carson suggests they get married. I somewhat liked Carson-even though he is a little creepy with the whole "obsession' situation. The story itself wasn't bad. The ending was a little confusing since this book ends with her being pregnant but the next book which is book 3 starts with their vows renewal ceremony and no where do they mention their baby, which makes me wonder-what happened there?
Ten years ago, Ashlyn thought she removed herself from the mafia/gangster family her family were a part of. Then Carson Crowley walks into her life again and she's thrown right back into their world whether she wants to be or not. Her brothers been gravely wounded, her father and uncles were killed. She remembers him, her brother's best friend and the Crowley family prince. Ash as always felt she had a guardian angel watching over her and the bar Bottle of Smoke she owns. Carson knows her life is in danger and has a proposition for Ashlyn, marry me! I love this relationship Carson is obsessed with her and she's trying so hard to not fall in love with him. What happens when the truth behind his real obsession comes to light? Can their newfound love survive? A great story filled with action with many twists and turns to create a very unconventional love story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The ultimate obsession will leave you reeling! I’m in love with the strong female protagonist, Ash who feels like she has an angel keeping watch over her to help her in times of need over the years. Enter Carson who has been secretly obsessed with Ash for ten years, a mafia prince and her brother’s best friend who stops by Ash’s bar to ask if she has heard from her brother. This starts Ash’s life unraveling as she is pulled in to the consequences of her brother’s actions that Carson seizes the opportunity to have Ash in his life. As the two seal the deal, all is not as it seems between the two with Carson’s secret that jeopardizes the very hesitant groundwork on Ash’s part to be in the family after walking away all those years ago. Will Carson be able to keep Ash safe? Will Ash be able to put Carson’s obsession behind her? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!
4.5 Stars!! There is Ash who hasn't spoken with her family in ten years when her brother took up with the Crowley organized crime outfit in Boston. Then there is Carson who is to become its new leader when his father passes away. Ash's brother is Carson's right-hand man and second in command. When her brother does something that get her brother shot eight times and sends a rival group after her father and uncles (Also in the Crowley organization), Carson goes after Ash to protect her from what is coming her way. He offers her protection, but the cost is a betrothal to him. We come to learn as the book goes on that Carson has been watching out for Ash for years. Her own guardian angel. Will he be able to keep her safe this time? When she learns the total truth about his little obsession will it break her and them? Good quick read with more romance that mafia brutality. Enjoy!!
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
Obsession!!! How far can the human mind wonder? How can it ever be positive?
Carson Crowley is the oldest brother of the family who has been grummed from childhood to take over the position his father held. Ashlyn is the sister of a childhood friend that captured his young heart and it never swayed! Ten years later something big Stirred within the "Family" that caused Carson to reveal himself an his protective side to make sure he can keep someone safel! This story is written well. Most of the characters are strong willed. Can you figure out what or who caused the rebellion? Why is Carson so protective? Remember this is all fiction, but many see "Mafia" and think of Italians right of way but when it comes to criminals they are in most nationality's Irish,Russian etc but usually all run the same. This book is focused on Carson and his thoughts and feelings in his life with some violence on the side.
This is the second book in this series. It features Carson Crowley, the Scion of the family. He is a little obsessed, more like a hugely, with Ashlyn, Ash, Locke. She is the sister of his friend and lieutenant, Iain. She cut all ties with her family ten years ago when Iain joined the family business. Now Carson comes to her with news that her brother is fighting for his life and all her male relatives are dead. But Carson says he will protect her and her friends. If she marries him and lets him take over. But she is wary because he comes on so strong. Can Ash trust Carson? Can Carson ever understand that she has to have true choices? Will Iain survive? And can Ash ever forgive Carson for his many sins? This is a fantastic love story of extremes. There is passion and danger and crazy times. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Malicious Wedding by B. B. Hamel is book Two in the Crowley Mafia Family Series. This is the story of Carson and Ashlyn 'Ash'. Ashlyn's family had some involvement with the mafia and due to that Ashlyn left the family several years ago. Ashlyn went on to take over a bar left to her by her grandfather. Now in their present day we learn that Carson is the 2nd in command of the Irish Crime family and has been obsessed with Ashlyn. Carson has been watching her from afar and keep her safe. But when he walks into her bar it is to tell her that her family has been killed except for her brother Iain who is in bad shape. In addition she is in danger. This of course gives Carson his chance to take Ashlyn and claim her as his own. Enjoyed this book and I hope to read more from this author.
I loved the quick and easy banter between Ash and Carson. Their relationship picks up after ten years apart. Ash's brother brings them back together. Can't blame Ash for falling head over heels for Carson. But, she sure fights against it after she realizes her guardian angel was Carson and not good luck or fate shining down on her. Carson truly is obsessed with Ash but he means well. In his own strange way he truly loves her. I like this book because it was fun to read and it was a unique lite mafia romance. A good read. I do recommend it for a refreshing alternative to the dark mafia stories.

When Carson Crowley, soon to be head of the Crowley mafia family shows up and gives her news that her family is all but gone, Ash knew the decision to walk away from them was the right decision. What she does not expect though is that even though she is estranged from them she still is a target. What she does not know is that Carson has stayed away and that he is completely obsessed with her. He promised her brother he would stay away, his family tried to get him to move on but his obsession finally is within his grasp and he wants to marry her, will he finally get the woman whose his everything?
This was the best I think of this series. Carson is a very dark character and I was not sure where this story would leave with Ash. I felt for Ash, she did was amazing she stood up to Carson. Page turner, fantastic story.
