Book seven in The Sunrise Coast Series is a standalone novel but can also be enjoyed as part of the series.
Elise Darcy grew up in North London in the 1970's, the daughter of two baby boomer school teachers. Her love of books began at an early age when trips to Regent's Park always culminated in a visit to Foyles, the legendary independent bookstore in Charing Cross Road. She has fond memories of exploring a veritable Aladdin’s cave of books; a magical place with winding staircases, old creaking lifts, and cosy corners in which to settle down and lose herself in a good book.
After university Elise Darcy worked in London before embarking on her writing career. She now lives in an apartment in a picturesque market town in Suffolk where she writes her novels.
This is book 7 in Elise Darcy's Sunrise Coast series set in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The book centres around the shops in Cobblers Yard and the people who work there.
Thea is an archivist in London, but she spent her childhood in The Bookshop of Memories until she was 9, when her father disappeared. After this, she, her mum and twin sister move to London. Thea's twin sister Jenna needs some help, so she takes some leave and travels to Aldeburgh, where she finds out things are not good within her sisters family.
Callum, a TV star in the USA, is evaluating his life. After he learns the show he has worked on for years isn't being renewed, he returns to Scotland to see his family, or what he thought was his family. He learns something from his father, which leads him to Aldeburgh, to hopefully return something.
I really enjoy reading this series; if you like romance, then this book could be for you. Each book is a standalone story, but the characters appear in subsequent books, so the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the wider storyline.
If you like books by Debbie Macomber and Tilly Tennant, then you will probably like this series.
I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released.
Such a lovely story about an abandoned bookshop. There is a mystery to what happened to the owner of the shop who just disappeared over twenty years ago. This is quite an emotional read but such a lovely ending. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a feel good story.
